I agree with you. I'll take a very clear and positive style of play over anything we achieved or think we achieved last season. ETH has his chance to build a team for the future and he is making a mess of it. There was no pressure to win any trophy last season, and even this season

It went as expected. Nothing shocked me. I used to be very critical of some of the players but the person in charge of player selection, tactics, game play, substitution etc is the manager. As far as I'm concerned he's not doing enough and we will continue to struggle for a while.

I'm more concerned about how we play against average or below average teams for now. Until we're able to play convincingly better against those ones before we can talk about Man City

eph12, what's your review of 1st half?

- I was impressed ETH was able to tie Pep down.
We didn't play much but the boys were in the game...the problem started with the unlucky penalty plus Amrabat's yellow card.
That was the end of the game.

What I have learnt from our situation is that playing style is VERY important right from the first season that the manager is hired.... It's more important than gaining all these little and temporal achievements.

Patience is also important. I wouldn't sack ETH till the end of this season.

I am not making excuses for ETH but assuming he started implementing any style of play from day one, he would have been sacked by now because he would not have won any trophy and fans want the trophy fast .

But meanwhile I still believe in him even though it's frustrating .

It's just one of the styles. I've seen them try using triangle more in the wings, but their agility and close control is not up to that level. Only Sancho has that among all our forward players.

They did it against Galatasaray too, but for some reason they were impatient and forced the ball forward too soon. If you noticed today, there was little to no forced balls. And I think this is also due to the sub of Casemiro, he's been the one forcing halls since the beginning of the season.

I wanted to type in the first half that were playing well and I'm starting to see ETH Tyler of overloading one wing before switching to the other and driving crosses in(one part of his style at least) and everybody did their role well.

I already accepted the loss but i was seeing a clear pattern so I was okay. Never expected a win but we thank God😁

Evans sha... I'm shell shocked at how composed he is, and not just in this game. Even Maguire had a good game. The only player I could fault was Onana, but I'm tired of mentioning his name. To his credit, he made some fine saves I'm the second half even though most weren't really threatening. I hope those saves brings his confidence up.


Y'all might argue with me and say we didn't do enough which is true, but can you actually pick one particular player that played badly?

Life is a game of Luck. You can't put in that effort we did in 2nd half and not win over 70% of the time.

Why? Let him hustle for a spot on the starting 11. That should build his confidence. He has let us down too many times.

If Garnacho starts and can't perform again, it will really hurt his confidence this time around.
Playing him from the bench is a better way to grow his confidence.

Its normal to have this kind of reaction when you're in trouble. I want to see them push opponents back from kick off. Also note that Brentford had no reason to commit players forward so it was easier for us to dominate this way
