nitrogen: Why? Let him hustle for a spot on the starting 11. That should build his confidence. He has let us down too many times. If Garnacho starts and can't perform again, it will really hurt his confidence this time around. Playing him from the bench is a better way to grow his confidence. |

eph12: Its normal to have this kind of reaction when you're in trouble. I want to see them push opponents back from kick off. Also note that Brentford had no reason to commit players forward so it was easier for us to dominate this way 🤣😂 If they go back to factory settings, then... |

MRTA7: I didn't even watch the match even though I could. Was following the score untill 80th I thought this is another defeat so ETH has to go. Only to find out just now that McTominay scored twice for a 2-1 win.
I still think ETH might have lost the dressing room. But let's see how this goes after the international break. If the club were smart the would start looking to options. But we know our club. 2nd half was great. No need looking for options yet |

Dexyity: Honestly!
We are getting together the possession unlike weeks back. I hope we can play like this against top team. Lot of works still need to be done I don't trust ETH and his boys yet...If they can repeat this performance multiple times, then I will know we are good to go. |

TrebleChamp: I saw a shot clip on twitter where Beckham, Ole, Gary Neville and Fergie himself spoke on the boot incidence. As to whether Fergie would have been allowed 4 years in this age, i highly doubt he would have lasted that long without winning a trophy. He was even on the verge of being sacked, but the League Cup win saved his job. Football is first and foremost about winning titles.... 💯✔ |

kozmicity: No. Not you. I meant I can bring out posts from last season to show you the entire argument. I didn't mean to say you posted about them. Leave them to troll. I guess it was just sentimental argument then. DDG saved/carried us last season (except his bad days, lol), while Rashford was doing his on the other end. Our current sh1tty performance has nothing to do with the goal keeper (Onana), for now. If we fix our infield plays before we can evaluate the goal keeper. No sentiments, just enjoy the game. |

eph12: Exactly it's unknowable.
It's same way some people say Messi won't survive the 80s and 90s or some comparisons that we can never know.
We're trying to compare with ETH that has spent a lot of money on new players in his first two seasons lol but ETH won you something in his 1st season. And who said SAF didn't spend money during his terrible era? He even bought his goal keeper from Aberdeen that was costing SAF games...until he dropped him before he won a trophy |

eph12: No I haven't.
Do you think SAF would have won nothing in his first 4 years in this twitter era? Maybe or maybe not, it's unknowable. But seeing he is much like ETH; a rookie Manager, too strict/stubborn, favoritism, etc. I would say it would have taken him more than 6years to win anything (i.e, if not sacked within 3 years). |

eph12 and TrebleChamp, are you watching Beckham's documentary on Netflix? Question: assuming SAF was in this twitter era, do you think he would have been allowed 4 years of winning nothing, plus too strict coaching style? p.s; no sentiment, just discussion. |

kozmicity: Was DDG the problem last season?
We said we needed midfielders and defenders, but everyone said it was DDG and once we replace him we'd play better.
We've replaced him and we're not playing better... I don't understand what reason you're looking for again. Or were you not here last season?
I don't do this, but I can bring receipts... Lots of it too. kozmicity, go through my post and bring my receipts on DDG and Onana. I will wait |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by main24(m): 5:14pm On Oct 05, 2023 |
TrebleChamp: A terrible goalkeeper will cause damage to a team like United who find it difficult to keep the ball and control games, Pep Barcelona or Ma city Team will do well with Onana like they did with Valdes and currently Elder son, because they always have more of possession and dominate games. Manchester United is a counter attacking team...... Cool. |

odizeey: This question is coming one season late Odizeey, I have always maintained that DDG should not be changed because that is not our priority, you can go through my posts last season. Whichever keeper is used, I will always support that keeper. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by main24(m): 3:33pm On Oct 05, 2023 |
TrebleChamp: United have had countless terrible games where De Gea turned out the hero, a good goalkeeper will almost always keep his team in games with miraculous saves/performance. United should have gone for a better goalkeeper or keep Kovar as first choice... - what is the longrun effect when the whole team is carried by their goal keeper? - is there any successful club being carried by their goal keeper? - what do we want? short term fix or long term fix? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by main24(m): 3:29pm On Oct 05, 2023 |
TrebleChamp: Nope, performance is shitty due to poor taktiks and terrible players management by Ten Hag. Am just saying he should give the other goalkeeper a chance, let's see if he is a good shot stopper who can also play out from the back. I saw Kovar in pre-season and i have watch some clips too, he looks a good shot stopper and very good with his feet. I agree with you 100%. But if Kovar is a better goal keeper, don't you think it will make us feel we are improving, simply because we are being saved by the goal keeper? We are in this hole now because DDG was saving us last season (except his bad days), and at the other end Rashford was scoring goals. No more individual brilliance, it's a short term fix but useless on the longrun. what do you think? |
