I still think ETH might have lost the dressing room. But let's see how this goes after the international break. If the club were smart the would start looking to options. But we know our club.

As to whether Fergie would have been allowed 4 years in this age, i highly doubt he would have lasted that long without winning a trophy. DDG saved/carried us last season (except his bad days, lol), while Rashford was doing his on the other end.
Our current sh1tty performance has nothing to do with the goal keeper (Onana), for now. If we fix our infield plays before we can evaluate the goal keeper.

Maybe or maybe not, it's unknowable.
But seeing he is much like ETH; a rookie Manager, too strict/stubborn, favoritism, etc. I would say it would have taken him more than 6years to win anything (i.e, if not sacked within 3 years).

We've replaced him and we're not playing better... I don't understand what reason you're looking for again. Or were you not here last season?

A terrible goalkeeper will cause damage to a team like United who find it difficult to keep the ball and control games, Pep Barcelona or Ma city Team will do well with Onana like they did with Valdes and currently Elder son, because they always have more of possession and dominate games.

Odizeey, I have always maintained that DDG should not be changed because that is not our priority, you can go through my posts last season.

Whichever keeper is used, I will always support that keeper.

United have had countless terrible games where De Gea turned out the hero, a good goalkeeper will almost always keep his team in games with miraculous saves/performance. United should have gone for a better goalkeeper or keep Kovar as first choice...

- what is the longrun effect when the whole team is carried by their goal keeper?

- is there any successful club being carried by their goal keeper?

- what do we want? short term fix or long term fix?

Nope, performance is shitty due to poor taktiks and terrible players management by Ten Hag. Am just saying he should give the other goalkeeper a chance, let's see if he is a good shot stopper who can also play out from the back. I saw Kovar in pre-season and i have watch some clips too, he looks a good shot stopper and very good with his feet.

But if Kovar is a better goal keeper, don't you think it will make us feel we are improving, simply because we are being saved by the goal keeper?

We are in this hole now because DDG was saving us last season (except his bad days), and at the other end Rashford was scoring goals.
No more individual brilliance, it's a short term fix but useless on the longrun.

We can still qualify. Beat Copenhagen home and away, beat Galatasaray and hope Bayern Munich win all their matches.

Why do we want to qualify?

I asked this same question last season, most people got me wrong.
We are still laying like sh1t, qualifying will only make it look like we are playing better.
It is better we are relegated, so we know we are playing like sh1t.

Making top 4 and coming to UCL playing like sh1t doesn't make sense to me.

Man Utd is a successful business already. We just need to be pragmatic and avoid being emotional. If we sign a new manager today, the first season could be a bit okay, new manager is trying to instil his pattern of play, buying his players etc. Only top 4 finish is fine. But you see the second year, something spectacular has to happen. QF, SF of UCL, maybe top 2 at the minimum in the league and a cup. If it’s not happening, or we don’t at least slightly improve on the previous season’s performance, then we should sack and move on.

Today, we are worse with our signings. No evidence of the manager’s pattern or system, there is no sign, no sign at all that we will improve. A few more games, and we should be ready to decide without our emotions.

E never they when DDG comot, but I already miss the fact that when defenders are in our box I can say to my brother based on the strikers position and pace... DDG will stop that ball. It's just like when AWB plays, you know it's almost impossible to go through that RB.
