At this junction, being a fixed income earner whose income has not changed, please advise “i bought fidelity @ circa 0.87k with a lump sum of 500k years ago, now fidelity hovers around #8, I actually dont intend to sell till the news of capital raising is finallised then i can sell off.............,
Im planning to make profit off this capital raising scheme news to come back when the dust settles......

The act of buying more just dilutes my profit as impact of current buy just gets lower as price rises................

The above is a summary of my portfolio.....My prayers are to time the highest junctions to offload

As for me o, I’m selling bulk of my holdings to day traders let them enjoy..........the prices of these stocks are rediculous as compared with the inflation in the country........,

Probably what is driving this prices are foreign portfolio investors...... once they are gone, then its time to replant

The euphoria in the market is not backed by real world fundamentals, prices are up and the masses are cutting spendings.....Most manufacturers have cut production targets downwards amid raising prices
The currency situation in the country is only favoring export oriented companies( i work in one) as export demand has increased but this is being counterbalanced by a sharp decrease in domestic demand........
All in All, I see the euphoria in the market as a way of letting heavyweights cash out......

Dont get trapped.........

Stocks are for long termers, I still got Fidelity I bought at .81k, Fbnh @ #6, mrs @ #13.......

I see this as an opportunity to recover capital cost and put the money in less risky assets like dollar currency.........

I will come back to d market only a long bear market has ravaged the market

Nigerians need to know and understand how some people mostly politicians are plifering the machinery of Government for personal gains.........

Take keke maruwa for example..... at the point if importation, import duties is paid, on first usage, it is registered, plate number issued and yearly renewal of papers is assured, the fuel & lubricants it runs is similarly taxed........ Finally, for everyday it runs on the road, it is issued a ticket that makes the owner run it without clash with authorities...........

We all understand that the eventual riders take home is but a meagre sum off the value generated by the Keke, Still we Nigerians cant demand Good roads

Na who dey chop all this money

Lol....Patriotic This currency, that currency, our currency, their currency; this thinking are old ideas. In this globalization era we are in, I am in complete support of the whole world having just a single currency; The dollar should be that currency as it as proven itself to be far superior against all other currencies.

With the way the dollar is crushing every other currency in the world non stop, If the idea of making the dollar the only currency in the world is been proposed; I am certainly sure this failed government and every other failed government out there will be glad to have it. As they have certainly, confidently, clearly, obviously, woefully, completely failed against it. It will be a way to burn evidence of their failure. Please throw patriotism away and stack the dollar as much as you can!!!! Stack it like your life depends on it.
Making the dollar standard means giving all powers of decision to Washington, take a look at the euro zone, Greece and Italy wont be in the problem they are in if they kept their currency, adoption of the Euro turned their leaders to houseboys for Germany.....

They must pay their loans back, no option for devaluation

We run investment packages....one of the many financial instruments...that's what we seek approval for and not on any of our other businesses

If you read the statement well, you'd see where we stated that we used to do it among a few people and share profits....it was when we started to go large scale we sought them out for approval

Now, I feel I need to explain better what we do here to clear misconceptions...

If you watch LIONS DEN on TVC, you would have a fair understanding of what we do....

As a holding company,we have controlling interests in these businesses

A private equity it is because they have not gone public yet

Now, what you call "jack of all trades" is what we call not putting our eggs in one basket....

These companies we target (both start ups and buy outs) are researched to be in key sectors such as oil and gas, dredging, real estate, Agriculture etc

Now, you say high interest rates....but is it high interest rate without the right time value?

For example,

I ask you to Invest 10m in our petrochemical to pay you interest and capital back in two years.....

In just one of our sales outlets, we can get this money in a week....not to talk of two years

Again, i ask you to invest same amount in our pepper farm in one year....pepper matures in 3 months.....we would have gotten profits four times over before we share with investors

Are these not viable businesses? Can you call them Ponzi?

These are not audio businesses....they exist and are functioning well

The idea of having many again is not to have our eggs in one basket. Believe it or not, we have thousands of investors we are accountable to

It isn't possible that all these businesses won't bring in profit at thesame time....

So we understand the business space quite well

Those that have gone under probably didn't diversity well or have a strong and experienced management team

We are not a one to two man business....we have a team of experts in our top management team.....those who have attended world class business schools

We are striving to be the exception....and we would continue to do so

Yoruba will say enú dun to rò efò............ Ar this stage of ur marketing one has to paint out the avatar of whom you are expecting to fall for this......You all are targeting newbies and the young that don’t understand Business into this , no seasoned contributor to this thread from inception will fall for this

But there are free floating rules that may be broken. A single shareholder having 89% stake in a company may not be allowed in the exchange.

There are quirks too in the rules of the exchange, a majority shareholder can as well take forever to comply with the rules...... its about getting good lawyers

Who knows what the offer will be for the minority shareholders for the remaining 10%.

Why buy out minority’s when u already have the controlling units.....at this point they can rebrand and stop using the union name maybe they will become titan bank.....

What about capital / property appreciation of 40% in a year if you buy real estate off plan (pre construction / completion) and sell in 12 months?
Developers to sell for you.. they call it "buy to sell".. or "trading in real estate".
you get upfront a post dated cheque to mature on due date.
Of course you may decide to retain the property and not sell.. your choice.
The developers have estates nationwide.. they are reputable.. due diligence would apply of course

Someone here bought United capital(ucap) at 0.90k about 8 years ago and has refused to sell through thick and thin

That stock paid .50k last year.....,,, how do you convince this man on real estates, bring the figures and do the maths.........

There's definitely a place for the enaira.
The enaira will join other crypt0 coins pegged to fiat currencies called stable coins. I remember stating here some months back how such non-volatile coins have changed the dynamics of crypt0currency trading with huge prospects going forward. Then, some folks said I was writing huge essays. Good enough, their country is planning to issue one today.

CBN acted cautiously which is understandable for a central bank. I'd argue that by being one of the first to issue a cbdc, they're more liberal than most other central banks... Where they failed at was understanding the dynamics of crypt0 trading in Nigeria. Before the ban, we saw here how the daily naira volume on bitc0in alone traded on just one exchange was rivalling the naira volume traded on the NSE. Of course, such volumes would bring the attention of regulatory agencies.
Take a specific crypt0 asset such as bitc0in for example, Then trading was this way: naira>> Bitc0in>> naira
After the ban, folks continued to trade but had to buy a crypt0 stable coin with their naira first and with the devaluation, people were not converting their us stable coin back to naira... So it became: naira>>usdt>>bitc0in>>usdt...
What the enaira will do for crypt0 traders is take that ratio back to what it was initially... enaira>>bitc0in>>enaira..

The enaira is a novel project and I believe it has its place... Of course, as with anything new, there'd be teething problems. My main concern is regarding adequate security around issuance.

The enaira will serve a different role from volatile crypt0 assets and also regular fiat... first, it provides a platform for other crypt0 related offerings e.g crypt0 loans, staking (similar to fixed interest) e.t.c which rival traditional bank offerings to build on.
Regarding remittance, I believe this is where it'd excell..Currently, remittance to Nigeria is soo broken due to CBN interventions.... Alot of tech firms are already getting into this. Twitter has just made it possible to send funds instantly via crypt0 to users worldwide... Soon enough, the likes of WhatsApp and Telegram could make this an option too- i.e send funds to fellow users worldwide or even pay for stuff on WhatsApp business profiles online. It'd be a game changer.

With the enaira, things like tranfer fees, stamp duty e.t.c can easily be regulated from source by the CBN.... Also, the enaira opens a door for regulrity clarity regarding other crypt0 assets in Nigeria. With regulatory clarity, bigger players can come in.

What I'm keen on seeing is if they're going to tie its release to forex and what rate it'd be

As with every thing Nigerian... wait till the nigerian factor enters and see us turn this shit up side down........ The e-naira would just end up like public school education or pension scheme..............

The e-naira smells like a tool for control and subjugation................... In due time we would know who this is targeted at .........

Talking about the enaira....

Its interesting that one year after CBN sponsored a campaign to brand crypt0 users fraudulent, they seem to be in a hurry to issue one...

Their enaira would be equivalent to the naira hence hold same value as it and be a legal tender...

Now why I can't criticize the idea and would rather watch and see how it progresses

Even as a crypt0 enthusiast, my concern is how quickly it was put together... It's obvious CBN wasn't thinking of this a year ago and seemed to get there in desperation...

First it seems the company in charge is actually a foreign one.... whoever handling this is same as handing over our mint to them. Such programs especially when government backed should have proper security in place... One of those is by ensuring they're home based if possible... That way, the nation has some regulatory control over them. A foreign company is subject to the laws of their home nation.

Also, unlike with paper fiat where printing paper money is expensive and takes time, with crypt0, a trillion naira can be issued in a day. Can the CBN handle this adequately and not go on a printing spree....

Lots of countries such as China have been trialling out crypt0 based currencies for years and are yet to issue one publicly...but it looks like CBN came to their decision overnight... Hope they really looked into it and x-rayed all implications.. security, sustainability, impact e.t.c.... That said, though I still remain skeptical, it'd be good to see how the program goes- hopefully its a success...

That aside, who would have thought that a year after branding crypt0 users criminals, we are now the ones calling on CBN to apply caution with their hurried foray into the sector.... Goes to butress one fact I believe in- that just like the internet did with communication, crypt0 will change the finance and value transactions in ways we have not yet imagined

I believe the whole move towards e-Naira comes as an after-mat of the END-SARS protest, I believe that after security Agencies Identified those spear-heading the movement, they used all their tactics in the book including cutting their funding source to Nigerian Accounts but hey many were now receiving big funding through Crypto, Go fund me, and co...........

This funds were not going through the traditional means that the CBN has controll over, It was just too anonymous hence the CBN and the Government were powerless during the saga......

They have learnt their lesson and are trying to control all Digital currency operations in the country.....The e-naira will just end up being an exchange to standard digital currency like bitcoin ........................

CAVEAT: these are my Opinions

I agree that the FG (incl the CBN) needs to do more in providing an enabling environment... Part of that could be to arm twist multinationals into backwards integration like it's done in every country... Western nations are still fighting to get jobs their multinationals had moved to China back..

That Fulanis benefit from Wamco inititiative is equally as good as anyother group benefitting.. Fact is that it doesn't stop there.... Forex (no matter how little) will not be wasted on importing that milk, those herders will not roam their cows far hence reducing clashes....e.t.c The whole nation benefits...

Nigeria has a lot of challenges, but there's always a way to start making progress... If the only viable means by which Nestlé can operate in Nigeria is by importing milk (which is what any trader can do) then their continued stay is detrimental to the nation and the government should ease them out and not give them cheap forex. I wouldn't mind Dangote and a few indigenous coys taking over that sector... At least, he'd search out a way to ensure good degree of local production

The more I read about agriculture on Naira-land, the more I laugh at Nigerians, We reek too much with this entitlement mentality........ When you enjoy a tin of peak milk, Never fail to see the labor involved especially the skilled labor involved,It will take African countries about 50 years to catch up with their European counterparts, Do you know the quality of research going on in the netherlands in Agriculture, How many farmers or even extension Agents in Nigeria read peer reviewed Journals not to talk of the application of knowledge discovered.........

Coys like Dangote that have tried Backward integration in Sugar, I beg to ask The skills this move has created in Nigeria other than bringing in quack indians to man over Nigerians that operate machines ................

If a fulani cow can only produce 100liters of milk while a fresian cow from Netherland can produce 2000liters from the same feed, My dear its not the Cows fault but the People surrounding the cows

I keep telling people, When you understand the nature of agriculture you will never fall for this......,,

To newbies who have never travelled and enjoyed some stay in the village know this, a good tecno touch light phone cost #12000, that is the cost of a bag of corn at owode market in Ogun state, A typical Nigerian farmer on the average makes this on one plot of land after 3 months of hard work..........

When we see okada riders, house boys and girls, smugglers, cleaners littered all over Lagos Abuja and other major cities, This jobs are still way way easier than Agriculture..........

If it were this easy most cities would be depopulated in a years time
