I now ask what made the cbn of then set such high interest rates Then too prices of Good stocks were depressed, stocks like my favorite zenith bank came as low as #10......,,, One should really invest during periods of high interest rates |

And you cannot assume that you will continue to reinvest at 15% for 30 years. Please guy, be careful of these women
Never lose guard. I repeat, Never lose your guard.
If you have a woman you are just meeting, get to know a little more about her before having sex with her. Sex itself is risky. Also, only deal with women that you know have something to lose. Never deal with a desperate woman. It's because of this reason my married friend chose his pastor's daughter as his side-chic because he knew she won't mess up as she had something to lose.
Anytime you are about to make a transfer, do not do it in the presence of anyone. Criminals are so smart that from watching your finger pattern, they can guess your 4-digit pin. Be careful.
Don't keep your sidechic totally secret, let your trusted guy know about her. Let her know she is known.
Never take a drink or food from a woman you barely know. If you notice you are feeling dizzy or sleepy after taking a drink, act immediately. Get out of there or call a friend to let you know there is trouble. Lol, I laugh out when I hear stuffs like this, u forget that women are naturally designed to strike @ what a man guards most, if it's ur money that's most important to u they go for it, if it's ur time they go for it, if it's ur mother she strikes ur mother, if it's ur work she orchestrates ur sack Having a side chick is no crime just make her understand she too can have a side man |

emmanuelewumi: Same with my dad, he was equally written off by the family and the village. He equally forgot everything about them and moved on with his life, study and career, but it got to a stage that they were the ones begging him to come and build something in the village. I have been there thrice, but have never slept over it is about 2 hours drive from Lagos. This is one of the disadvantage of village or communal life......... I still remember visiting the village as a young boy and could not understand the rave of having a borehole in ones compound........... Those that had one in their compounds were viewed as prosperous, while those without one were trampled upon...... I still remember a man pleading with so much guilt in his voice as he offered us refreshment, praying we don't reject When one grows up from childhood in this environment, u can't help but feel for this folks |

OgogoroFreak: Actually, you are very correct. But mine was based on my own experience.
I had no job. I dated a working class lady that was earning around 250k monthly. I lived in her house but sometimes, this babe starves me. Her money no dey drop. She doesn't come home sometimes and I dare not talk. She treated me like sh1t. Atimes, no pussy for me like a whole month. I knew it's only a matter of time before she throws me out so I had to leave. The depression and humiliation I felt was the reason I visited brothel that year and met my olosho girlfriend.
The olosho treated me like her god. Despite she's the one providing the money, she still gives me that max respect like I never knew. She makes like 20k daily except days she didn't go out to hustle. Na me dey even keep her money for her. Babe was the definition of beauty with no brain for she to believe she found a husband.
I was not any of the people you mentioned. I was extremely broke and hungry then but I said you are correct because through her, I met the
1. Dons 2. Successful criminals 3. Master manipulators 4. Unrepentant simps with little or no experience in women matters Notice urself.....u seem fixated on the amount of money these ladies earn.......signs of a man that does not believe in the works of his hands U broke one of the ultimate forms of trust with ur second babe after believing she has found a husband in you Finally look at the toxic set of people u have been meeting Dons, successful criminals and master manipulators Please turn a new leaf and enjoy women |

Adeshina, Ngozi, Aganga, the NSE Oga, the Sovereign Wealth Fund Oga and many more were recruited from abroad where they were earning USD, paying mortgage, school fees and other expenses in USD. It makes sense for them to be paid in USD na. Unfortunately, not many people take their finances that seriously. Why do you think slay mamas are cashing out daily even as Nigerians are crying of poverty and hardship? erwinschro: I am not an insider but merely have experience in finance. From my understanding NASD is not a very liquid exchange so mispricing of securities is far more common. With PE firms, they will eventually look for an exit to actualize the true value within 7-10 years of their investment either through a secondary sale or strategic acquisition.
I don't wish to convince anyone to invest, just explaining my views and seeing if there are any issues in my thought process. The way I see it, if I can buy a part of the company for far less than its actually worth with a good margin of safety, it should be a very profitable investment I believe you mean well but one thing about stuffs in Nigeria is that they usually look good on paper till one enters and see that Khaki no be leather, at times its better to follow the wisdom of the crowd and touch this glittering opportunities from a distance....... Many on this forum have been dealt heavy blows by many private equity firms, different investment vehicles have been brought forward and many did not see the light of day instead many ended up sinking investors fund why not channel your energy to NSE that has been tried and tested, personally i only deal with NASD companies through DEBT instruments as that is the only channel that the law insists they must pay back else liquidation, Equity is a different ball game, Equity is majorly a promisory note, Many companies even on the NSE pay dividends as that is a major means for them to convice investors to price their bonds cheaply else they will behave like NASD companies |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by maishai: 3:33pm On Jun 04, 2021 |
erwinschro: Quite the contrary - the economics of their business is turning in their favor. They are mostly owned by a prestigious private equity firm that is driving operational efficiency. They lost money the last 5 years in order to pursue growth and it is paying off as they are the fastest growing chicken brand in west africa and are on track to have over 500 stores by 2023. They did over N13bn in revenue in 2019 and turned a profit of over N3bn. They are expanding their franchising so they will essentially be entering the property development business - a model that has worked very well for companies like McDonalds. The business is very sound.
In terms of valuation, because they are owned by a PE firm I would probably have to do a DCF analysis with a 5 year EBITDA exit to get a better sense but as of right now the shares trade for less than 3x earnings which is cheap by most standards. My view is that it is a good long term play for capital appreciation not dividend payment Its a no go area except i have quality insider info especially if management has it in mind to pay dividends |

The guy that pays #5000 for Heineken @ transcorp Hilton and the guy that pays #300 for the same Heineken @ a local bar are all getting their worth in the amount of money they spent...........it all depends on what's in all our minds initially....
If it were only the beer enjoyment one is after u can as well grow the grain and ferment the beer @ home yourself that way you won't spend a dine
Better still you can drive down to the factory and buy at ex-gate price take home and enjoy.......
This brings up something if u are a producer, u better know what u are selling as it may not be the product manufactured u are selling, it's probably concepts like convenience, prestige or utility u might be selling......
The richer one gets, the more he is ready to pay to enjoy concepts like speed , convenience, durability
Back to the discussion, yes someone earning 50k can definitely build, but u will never hear stuffs like stone coated roofs, premium interlocking pavement, marbled floors, weather resistant paint........... A utilitarian will be like what da Bleep is this dude talking about |

The day governments finds a way to run civil service the ways banks are being run then there will be better efficiency in Naija. That can only happen when government are runed strictly on taxes..................That is the only way to make Government work for their money, You first have to find a way to attract Businesses then find a way to make money without taxing Businesses to death..........................Most Government take the easy route especially when there is a Hot commodity in their dormain that sells fast........ People living this way are extremely resourceful and knowledgeable in many areas, almost everyone who has built a house out of meagre resources ended up turning themselves to different types of Engineer in the process but you in-advently see their touches in the structures they have erected, they usually lack ergronomics........

emmanuelewumi: People have gone broke trying to achieve social wealth.
All you have listed will make you to have respect, admiration from people.
Why do people live above their means?
Many years ago a colleague came to me to get a loan, which was less than a week after we were paid our salary. I asked him why was he so broke, he said he made a pledge to his religious organization.
Who does that, you made a pledge now you can't afford to fuel your car or pay your transport fare to work.
I guess the guy needed to up his status in his religious organization, he needed position in the organization, he craved the respect and praises from his religious leaders.
If I may ask you out of the following types of wealth and you are asked to choose just 3, which ones will you choose.
1. Financial wealth ( money)
2. Time wealth (freedom)
3. Social wealth (status)
4. Physical wealth ( health) No better way to put it, when one has finished solving the problem of hunger what remains I still don't understand why the rich keeps working harder when they can as well pay themselves pension from their wealth |

edoman2016: I need a serious advice here. I own a NAFDAC approved juice factory. So we have test runned and did trial production which was very successful. The samples were liked by the supermarkets and customers we give it to.
Now the issue now is that we are commencing full commercial production this week. And I had an arrangement with a chdhood friend of mine who had access to about 400 supermarkets in Nigeria. He has always been in FMCG sales after NYSC days, well connected and well experienced in sales and distribution. He wants to be the distributor and the receiver of payment from the customers, he will deduct his commission and remit my due money from sales after 30 days of supply on credit to him
Now, do you think the arrangement will favour me as the manufacturer, investor and sole owner of the factory. Should I develop my own in house sales team? even though I am not well connected to supermarkets in Lagos like him. I believe he is saving me the stress of customer acquisition.
My fear is that most customers will know him as their supplier and not know anything about me as the business owner. What if in future, he raise capital and start his own factory and steal all my customers.
I need advice on the way forward Congrats on the full scale commencement of production....... First and foremost never give in to your fear even if it means ur friend will chop u @ first, he has d contacts and distributors who u want, infact give ur friend 100% trust, So u can learn his trade secrets faster, it might cost u a little profit @ first..... U have to start getting ur products out and start getting feedback so as to fine tune.....
