Sincere9gerian:Lets just relax ourselves and enjor the comedy of this administration as they go about embarassing themselves by themselves on the big screen. ![]() |
Interesting. This report reminds me of Obasanjo, then Nigeria's President who made noise years ago that the country's power supply problems will be a think of the past by 2007. Well, instead of power getting better one year after 2007, it got worse. What really happened? OBJ embarked on constructing gas powered power stations without gas pipeline plan to feed them. That act was not only an embarassment to experts in energy field but an act that smacks of low IQ. What a project. It was like building a car without tires. How will it move Juxtaposing the above with this article, the story confirms the theory that the completion date for TAM of all four refineries was actually scheduled for 2016. By then all underlying problems associated with the refineries especially matters of broken oil pipelines would have been fixed and resolved amicably. But because the Buhari led APC administration were desperate for fame and glory to decieve Nigerians that things are working because of fear of Buhari, they pressurized experts to backtract on completion date. Soon stories began flooding the media that refineries will begin production in june 2015 instead of 2016 as originaly calculated by experts in the oil sector. What a sad development. The truth is repairs of all four refinaries are still ongoing, otherwise what will the nation gain from TAM if there are no oil pipelines to feed and ship petroleum products to distribution depots for final delivery to consumers Nothing. It takes a great deal of effort to fix refineries and a bit more to repair all broken pipelines, that actually had been the bane of Nigeria's refineries for years. This is what happens when politics is mixed with infrastructural developments for cheap political points. |
Osun state governor is a classic example of ''How not to govern a State''. The guy wasted funds on frivolities and welfarist ventures instead of investing in capital projects to boost revenue generation. |
You will never know the true state of things in Nigeria until you are in the position of power. This is what economist have been saying all along for years that by virture of Nigeria's huge population, the country is actually poor compared to available resources. Obasanjo himself made this revelation on a media chat program years ago. Which is why the Nation's economic structure need Restructuring to reflect the ideals of Real Economic Federalism. The current economic structure which places the Centre as Sole Controler of all economic activities and proceeds shared to states through the Federation Account is not only a joke of 21st century economic development but a reward for laziness and mediocrity. Nigeria will never develop economically with centralization of economic activities. |
The financial crunch in Ogun state is a classic example of financial recklessness and misplaced priorities. A situation where a governor engages in socialist ventures instead of capitalist investment to boost internal revenue genaration will make one wonder how that gov intends to develop the state in the first place. |
talktimi:One by one they are exposing themselves as Socialist. |
Where is the evidence that a former aid to GEJ returned stolen funds In as much as Nigerians want all stolen funds recovered, the Buhari APC led government must not play on our intelligence by dishing out unvierified stories about looted funds to the public. Until CBN acknowledges the receipt of these monies into the federation account, this news remains nothing but propaganda. |
Looks like someone in Lagos state does not want to see Fashola part of Buhari government. I smell Tinubu in this plot. |
The increase in revenue is an indication that APC government has no excuse not to fulfill its campaign promises. |
doctokwus:On the contrary he's doing his job very well as an opposition party spokesman. APC should stop claiming PDP's achievement and focus on delivering their campaign promises. Afterall, it was APC that said PDP destroyed Nigeria for sixteen years. |
Nice one from Metuh. The APC seem at lost on how to deliver their numerous pre-election promises. |
uchwar1:No crime on earth warrants a force member to treat an individual like that. This act is an affront on the dignity of man and must be condemned by all. |
Nigerian soldiers need to stop this show of Babarism and Savagery. These nonsence is exactly what gives Amnesty Intl opportunity to frustrate Nigeria's effort in the fight against terrorism. Watchout because they (AI) will use this pic as evidence of human rights abuse against suspected boko haram members to the international community. |
Truck drivers are fast becoming very reckless nowadays. No day passess by without reports of one truck getting involve in accident. The rail sector need more accelerated development and investment to ease pressure on transporting goods by trucks. |
Mogidi:This is a direct message to APC leaders that Bayelsa state will not succumb to the divide and rule antics of APC. |
South South belongs to PDP, there's no doubt about that. Even little children on the streets know that APC people are just wasting their time in Bayelsa Guber race. |
Fashola claim the site is not a personal website, yet his name is the web address. If truely the website is not personal, something like lagosstate.gov should have been the web address, not Fashola's personal name. |
dearpreye:They won't. Left to them the only problem of Nigeria is leadership. You got that right, they know the truth. They know the system is inefficient and unsustainable. But they will play coy with us because they are benefiting from it. |
dearpreye:Whether some groups like it or not, centralism will soon give way to fiscal federalism. The major reason why USSR collapsed in late 1980s was not because of lack of good leadership. Heck USSR had some of the worlds's toughest leaders at that time. It was simple because the Communist centralisation of economic activities was totaly inefficient and unsustainable. That period saw many republics opting out of the Union without a single shot fired. Nigeria's current economic structure is unsustainable and will soon go the way of Russia. |
dearpreye:Most Nigerians hold this false believe that an incorruptible individual as a leader is what the country need to develop. What they fail to understand is that when the system is flawed, No one can develop the country. No matter how hard they try, the system won't let them. This is what many Nigeria's don't know. |
That is it! This is exactly what we have been talking about. The early 60s saw Nigeria blossom into an economic power house in the field of agriculture. Each region within the country was in total countrol of its resources. Then the North, South and East were identified by their agricultural produce like Cotton, Groundnuts, Cocoa, Rubber, Palm-oil etc on the map. Not only were these regions self-suficient in revenue generation, they actually contributed resources to the centre for the overall developement the country. Nigeria's potential of becoming an economic power house was so visible at that time, economic analyst were more confident of Nigeria's economic outlook than countries like South Korea, Singapore, Malasia and Indonesia. Those were best times of Nigeria's economic activity, the only country in Africa that was not bullied by the West in those days. Alas!, the moment Nigeria slide into this primitive Socialist Economic structure after the civil war, Nigeria's economic development Sky-Dived from a promising Agro-economic player to a sorry state of a country where the only source of foriegn exchange is crude oil. How can Nigeria develop economically with this kind of structure Nigeria's current economic structure where proceeds of economic activities are collected by the centre and shared to states is not only the bane of our underdevelopment, it is actually the Corruption hamparing long lasting economic development. This system is fundamentally flawed, outdated, inefficient and unsustainable. It rewards laziness and mediocrity, an Almajiri-Style of structure if you like. No nation on earth can develop with this kind of economic structure. Unless all Nigeria's unite and demand for Total Restructuring of Nigeria's economic system to reflect the ideals of Real Economic Federalism where states or regions will have access and control of their God given resources to develop at their own pace, the circle of mediocity, underdevelopment and backwardness will continue unabated. |
Well, what can I say? Nigerians have been scammed! |
Very devastating loss. Poultry biz is not easy.
Wish him quick recovery. |
OBJ is fast becoming a huge disgrace to the ranks of Statesmen on the continent. Now he has answers and solutions to every Nigerian problem. Is this why he commissioned a study report about power generation to the Buhari government The same sector he wasted $16 billion in the last couple of years without any significant changes This is sad commentary. If indeed Obasanjo had solutions to help GEJ curb the Boko haram menace, where was he as Nigeria's President when Boko haram were busy training, recruiting and buying huge stocks of weapons betwen the periods 2002 and 2006 under police radar in Bornu state? |
onatisi:More excuses will be concocted soon. Today; Buhari is on honey moon. Tomorrow; Buhari is not god. Very sad indeed. |
Great article. Instead of adopting cosmetics measures to upgrade the value of the naira, the government should take advantage of the current inflation rate to consolidate and boost Nigeria's manufacturing capacity. Nigeria's goods will be more competative against our international rivals. There's no point revaluing the naira when the entire economy is import dependent. The more Nigeria produce and exports, the better for the economy, and the fastest way to make Nigeria an economic power house is Real Economic Federalism. Unless there's a deliberate policy aimed at decentralising economic activities within the country by way of Real Economic Federalism where every state in Nigeria will have total access and control of their God given resources to develop at their own pace while contributing little to the centre, Nigeria will continue to wallow in Mono Economic Syndrome. |
Honestly this administration is a big joke. So all these news peddled about and bombarded on the media every second about the so called ''List of Oil Thieves'' is a lie? Is this how the Gworo Chewing Specialist intends the lead this country Through lies and propaganda![]() Fayose was very right afterall. APC Bubu led government would have made the list public if truely such list ever existed. But come to think of it, maybe their names were top on the list of thieves who knows. Another tactics to shut it down and kill it forever. The bubu administration is just making huge noise about corruption. In the end nothing will be done. List of Thieves indeed. ![]() |
Looks like Sahara reporters are addicted to GEJ. |
Cool. ![]() |
There's a big difference between marketing and sales. Marketing is the promotion of a particular product(s) to Potential Customers. Its a form of awareness program aimed at sensitising people about the unqueness of a product future patronage... While Sales involve direct selling of products to customers. |
Let's see how Mr Holy holy will prosecute his wife. Mr integrity indeed. Its interesting to see that all those indicted in the Haliburton scandal are now saints in apc. |
Goodluck to him, assuming the Northern cabals even allow him smell the door to SFG office. Rotimi Ameachi will end up as ambassador to an African country. |

That act was not only an embarassment to experts in energy field but an act that smacks of low IQ. What a project. It was like building a car without tires. How will it move
