Exactly. Illiteracy is another big problem. Northern leaders have done a lousy job as far as quality education is concerned. They delight in keeping their own people in a state of perpetual ignorance for easy manipulation and control.

Sharia is known to be a prevalent issue in Northern Nigeria. Which is why sane people are calling for enforcement of Nigeria's secularism as recognized by the constitution which calls for the separation of religion and government. Unfortunately, people like pa Buhari are further complicating matters. Buhari himself confirm that he would live the rest of his life for the course and advancement of Sharia across the country, in a secular Nigeria. To think that the individual who made the statement is the same individual running for Presidency is a matter that calls for serious concern.
Any individual who calls for the inclusion and spread of religious ideologies on the Nigerian constitution is a religious bigot.

The following developments and controversies surrounding Buhari's certificate suggest the following:
- That Buhari failed his exams.
- Or Never had a school certificate in the first place.
There are Two theories:

1. The failure by Buhari to produce his original certificate could mean that he's ashame of it, probably because he failed all his subjects, therefore fears he's certificate will further expose him as a perpetual failure to the public and will be use against him by political opponents.

2. The failure by Buhari to produce his certificate also suggest that he is a beneficiary of the quota system were competency and merit are relegated to the dustbin in Northern Nigeria. He probably joined the army and rose through the ranks up to the post of major general without a school certificate.

Either way, The whole saga puts to rest the theory that Buhari is a semi illiterate who benefited from the corrupt system of institutional failure and maladministration of the past.
