Hello olabisi The way you peeps just suddenly decide on Judicial review seems to amaze me.. So cos you had a closing balance of 20m, it means you will get a study permit Visa? Bro, it doesn't work that way.. .I work with applicants everyday , and I personally know of someone that had 50miilion naira closing balance and still got refused... Until when the applicant did the right thing in his re-application with a balance of 30million and got his Visa.. I have echoed it several times on this thread, it's one thing to have all the millions in the world,it's another thing to convince the Visa Officer that this funds will actually be commited and made available to you all through your stay in Canada, work on that in your next application and see your Visa waiting for you.. But if you wanna go for JR, it's your choice.. I am sure you have the millions to throw at it and also you will have the patience for the final outcome either positive or negative... Meanwhile order for your GCMS notes to know the true concern of the Visa Officer.. JR isn't rice and beans, just to mention.. Peace olabisi6438: Guys goodday I was refused today. Oct 31 applicant.
However I think I was wrongly refused.
The closing balance was 20m, my dad did a gift deed of 2m and I didn't specify anyone will be accompanying me.
Please can I ask for a judicial review?? How much would an immigration lawyer cost? |

Congrats Peruxie I didn't know I was an angel though... smiles Go and prosper in Canada.. It has ended in praise.. Peace peruxie: Long Post Alert! I said I was gonna come back This Canada waka has not been easy.I am a second time applicant. I used the service of an immigration lawyer in Canada for my first application. I was devastated after spending hugely ( over 500k)for my refused application. Shortly after using the services of the imm lawyer was when google brought me to Nairaland platform. So immediately after my refusal I contacted justmellow on Nairaland but fully engage him through his social media page on Twitter/IG @GCMSWriters after seeing an impressive review about him here. The rest is now history. Glory be to God.
1st application
Applied - January 15th 2021 Refusal - May 27th 2021 Biometrics –january 21, 2021 Medicals – Upfront Eligibility Start: not sure cos my lawyer took charge of the IRCC account
Reasons from notes ordered- source of family’s income was unclear. It was unclear whether funds provided will be available for studies. Motivation to pursue studies was unreasonable. Study plan was general .
2nd application
Applied - August 8, 2021 Eligibility review- November 8,2021 MeDical updated- November 22, 2021 PPR- November 23, 2021.
Our gurus on this platform are not getting enough exposure and support because these guys are awesome. @Justmellow also guided me on how to withdraw the service of the immigration lawyer and came up with quite an approach as if he was an IRCC rep. I screamed when I saw the approved message. It was like I was shocked by an electricity leak. Lol
How I addressed the reasons for refusal , I contacted @justmellow for assistance. He went for his application guide & advice services and he also wrote my SOP and LOE ( as they said the initial one I did was general) And he also advised on extra documents I could add to back up my application.
As par my family establishment ..I added my dad’s retirement letter and also provided CAC for his new business of which luckily I had a stake in( even though the business no dey function) As par funds not sure of being available- I provided my payslips for 6months to show source of funds( I didn’t submit my payslips in first application), 6 months MBS of my accounts.) As par motivation for studies- it was clearly narrated in my SOP by @justmellow. In the process of waiting for my application to be approved, I requested my GCMS notes from justmellow website www.gcmswriters.com
Documents used
All the IMM forms Letter of Recommendation from local government chairman Undergraduate degree certificate NYSC Certificate SSCE/WAEC WES Certificate Study Leave letter from my office Letter of Introduction from my office Offer of Employment from my office Payslips 6 months Work ID Card MyBankStatement salary account - 2m MyBankStatement Savings account -6m Mutual funds -350k Pension Funds - 5.5m First Semester Tuition Fee Payment Bank Letter of Reference savings account Letter of Support (Father) Deed of Assignment and valuation Documents My Car Pictures and it’s documents Affidavit of support from dad Retirement Letter of dad and certificate of Service CAC Business Registration documents and Business ID Card for dad Birth certificate for dad and siblings My resume Police report.
I want to use this medium to thank justmellow for his efforts put in my application though it was paid and also for having a listening ear…also to the angels in this forum like Makano, frankrobbn, anon123 etc for helping in one way or the other through their questions and solutions to them, I say thank you and to the creator of this Nairaland forum too. It’s been a long journey but thank God it ended well. Pardon me if there are any typos, abeg manage the reading like that. It is still a dream. Thank you mellow.

Hello Omoboriowojay I have already answered your question on "No decision" And i said it means the college is yet to give you a final decision as regards your admission to the school.. Since your proposed course of study is related to your Job, then you are good to go.. But you will really need to work on your SOP and LOE.. And to your request for you to be added to a whatsapp group, I do not think that move will favour you.. The information you will get here is not compared to any information on any Canadian study whatsapp group.... Do not deny yourself of vital information here.. Peace omoboriowoJay: Hello everyone,
My undergraduate background has nothing to do with technology, but I am currently working as an IT support specialist in Germany and I would like to continue my studies in Canada, but this time I would like to take an IT course.
Please, is this possible for me.
I have also applied to some colleges in Ontario but my status is "no decision".
I would also appreciate if someone could add me to a whatsapp group. |

Hello Munaedo Lump sum becomes a reason for refusal when the applicant does not explain the source, reason and purpose of the sudden huge amount (lump sum) in the account.. The Visa officers are aware that many Nigerian applicants actually borrow to fund their accounts just to show they have money. (Demonstration Purpose). Now in you own case, you have a source, a reason and the purpose of the sudden huge funds in your sponsor's account.. It is your duty to explain with convincing points on the said lump sum just as you have explained here, and you must submit documents to back up your claims.... And to using your family as your home tie , it's a good move, but I will advise you apply with your less than a year baby, cos obviously your baby still needs you.. So you can go with your baby, then your hubby and your other kids can act as your home tie... Study permit application for you and Visitor Permit application for your baby.. Peace Munaedo: Good evening House, Pls I got my Letter of acceptance to study in Canada and I’m planning on applying for my study permit. I’ve got all my other documents ready, except for my SOP which I’m still battling with. Most importantly, my husband is my sponsor recently when I got my LOA he sold one of his properties, paid my fees & deposited d other in his account. However, my fear is that since it would be considered as lump sum by the VO what do you advise gurus in the house? Also my family would be my home tie because I won’t be going with the if I eventually get approval including my last baby that is less than a year old. Pls I need your the expertise of gurus here. Help a sister pls as my husband doesn’t understand the procedures, he thinks having the required amount is the main deal @ketima @frankrobbn @justmellow @makano @lekiboboe and other gurus. Am i surprised? Just because its easy to get admission in the UK, and also its easy to get a UK study Visa, applicants tend to conclude that UK is better than Canada.. Like I always tell applicants that seek my advise on the choice between UK and Canada.. both countries are wonderful, but Canada is the best.. I know quite a number of peeps that port to Canada from Uk.. But I dont really hear of peeps porting to the UK from Canada.. Its "difficult" to enter Canada quite alright, but when you enter that country, the rest is history, I don't need to say much.. Peace matthew080: But wait ooo
Why are peeps running from UK to Canada, As UK turned hell Why |

Good point Ketima... Its just unfortunate that peeps can be this ungrateful, but am I surprised, No.. Some of the applicants that got their PPR of recent here, messaged me privately in the past concerning their application and I gave them my professional advise and instructions for free, but now they have gotten their PPR, no thank you or appreciation.. Even if you cant show your appreciation publicly on the forum, you can send it to me privately via email cos that is the channel through which you communicated with me in the first place.. I am not actually saying anyone should go down on their knees to thank me or something, but when I see peeps thanking me for what I do here, it even motivates me to do more and go the extra mile.. I cant count the number of peeps I have helped review their SOP and LOE for free, and gbam, they feel its their right.. That is why you see many gurus now charging for their service, simply cos peeps actually take for granted the voluntary work they do... And funny enough applicants actually appreciate when they pay for what you do for them.. Now I don't review and vet SOP and LOE for free again cos of the not too good experience I have had in the past with applicants who I did it for free.. I don't know how you will get all the information you need by asking several questions as regards your application, and when you get your Visa, you tend to easily forget this family that gave you all what you needed for your approval. The only time you tend to remember this family is when you have another question to ask.. Its really Bad and discouraging to be honest.. You don't know even the gurus still learn from the timelines and posts you all drop here? You think its only the newbies? Personally, I am still learning on this platform cos what I know is what I read on this platform coupled with my personal research and study as regards Canadian study permit.. So showing gratitude goes a long way, not just on this thread but in our everyday life and activities... Personally when I see applicants thanking me or any of the gurus on this thread for the work done, it gears me up to do more... it shows our contribution here is being appreciated, But unfortunately, not everyone will appreciate you for the good you do, and that is one thing I have learnt in life, so it doesn't really affect me.. I have kept mute about this issue for a long time, I just had to speak about this after seeing Ketima's post... This is an issue we have addressed in the past without any change, we just hope it changes now that we are in a new year.. Peace Ketima: Hello all,
I want to appreciate us all for the good job we are doing here. But I must be sincere with us, It breaks my heart that recently, seems this thread have now turned to ONLY ASKING AND TAKING WITHOUT GIVING BACK
Imagine if the gurus that started this informative thread had left without giving back, by now many of us would be in the dark as regards to Canada study permits processes or at the mercy of wicked agents who would have sapped us dry of our hard earned money and still dash us ban.
Now if we don't give back, how would the newbies learn and not fall victims of these agents? It has gotten to the point that newbies and old members now had to beg or ask people to drop timeline after shout of PPR.
The essence of this timeline sharing is to help one another, whom by looking at documents submitted, will make him or her know where he or she faulted. We don't need to be asked to drop timeline before doing it. Let's do it to help one another. Is not all the time that the gurus will be here to direct and answer questions.
Reading through chats, I saw influx of shouts of PPR some days ago and it ended there. Guess God has now answered your prayers and you don't need this thread again Abi?
Let's all help one another through sharing of our timeline and document's submitted please. It goes a long way in helping.
Also, please those that have travelled, please endeavour to share your landing gist nah. It will help people getting ready to travel to know what and what you have handy and what to expect. Very many questions of people who are about to travel have asked as regards documents needed at the airports by airlines, but no clue cos those that have travelled, haven't come back to give us landing gist.
Sometime last month during the flight ban, many left through indirect route and many have gone after the lifting of flight ban. So what's happening? Please you all should come back and give is landing gist. It go help us well well. Jay316, I'm waiting for your own in particular lol.
@Makano, guess you need to inform justmellow about the thread. The pages is now too long to read through. Help us tell the moderators to do what they know how to do best.
I wish us all the best. We all shall smile at the end of this huzzle. |

Hello MercyFounbdme To the bolded. If truly IRCC stated it and it has expired, you will have to send it to them via email or webform to avoid delay in them asking for it... Once you upload it, once its time for them to ask, instead of asking, they will just upload it and that will hasten your final decision.. Personally, I do not advise applicant send documents to IRCC when they have not requested for it, but in your own case they have already stated it has expired, meaning soon they will request for it, so you can send it to them before they request for it.. Cos it may take weeks before they request for it which will result in the delay of your Final decision, so send it to them asap with your drafted LOE and receipts to back up your claim.. It will end in praise.. Peace Mercyfoundme05: Thank you for your reply Makano, I really appreciate you sir.
I will draft a quick LOE and explain how those lump sum came about, although my bank statement is about 197 pages with so many large funds, I will also attach some receipts from vehicles sold.
No, the VO did not request for an updated LOA, I said they noted it has expired. I am asking whether to upload the updated one I just got or wait until they request for it? |

Hello Kokolanre The conditions for a refund are : 1. If your study permit has been refused. 2. If you are not unable to start your studies.. And I am sure non of these conditions applies to you, so you will need to send a message to the school before the deadline that you have not gotten a final decision yet from IRCC and that is actually what is causing the delay and also you are still very much interested and able to start your studies... You can put this in your own way, I am just hinting you on what to reply the school.. At the same time keep sending IRCC disturbing messages, we have seen applicants disturbing IRCC with multiple messages day and night and they got their approvals asap, so you can also do same.. After sending to the school, you keep sending to IRCC everyday and night until you get what you want.. Send 5 mails daily and 3 mails in the night with the subject "URGENT with your application number". It will end in praise Peace kokolanre123: Should your study permit be refused, or you are unable to start your studies at the University of Manitoba, you can request a refund of your tuition and MISHP fee**. Only requests submitted to Extended Education before January 13, 2022 at 11:59 pm CDT will be considered.
@makano the above is my headache and nothing is forthcoming from IRCC asides from medical passed |

Hello Mercyfoundme Truth be told, you didnt explain in details like you said , you just talked about how you got your funds from the sales of cars, you didn't really explain in details the lump sum in your application and how available the funds will be for your studies and living expenses cos they claim the lump sum in your account Is just for show off and that it won't be available. So what you wrote in the doc you attached didn't really address the Visa Officer's concerns on the lump sums, and this is because you were not patient enough to work with your Gcms notes.. But if you submitted the receipts of the several transactions made, that resulted to the lump sums amount, then that can fly... But you needed to have explained all these in your Letter of explanation i.e explaining the transactions made that resulted to each of the lump sum amounts.. If you wanna draft a quick LOE explaining in details the reason for each lump sum, you can do that with the hope that the Visa Officer isn't in the last stage ot your application.. And to the LOA, I didn't see in the pre-assesed notes of the Visa Officer where they requested for an updated LOA.. But since you said you saw it, you can send it to them via email to the office handling your application, to avoid any delay in them asking for it.. Submit your drafted LOE and your LOA and maybe some of your receipts to them, before a final decision is made on your application.. It will end in praise.. Peace Mercyfoundme05: Good afternoon my elders in the house. I have been a guest/silent reader. I want to say a big thank you to everyone contributing on this platform. I have gained a lot here.
Please I need your advice regarding my present situation. I submitted my application on the 14th of May 2021, and it was refused (reason-personal assets and financial status) on the 27th of September after starting classes online since the 7th of September, although I have deferred my admission to September 2022 because we need to resume for second semester in person, I am going for a one year course.
I reapplied immediately on the 7th of October, yes, I understand I’m supposed to order for my notes at first to know the actual reason. I requested for it on the 14th of Nov and I got the notes 2 days ago. I have attached the notes below.
The VOs concern was based on lump sums in my account, luckily for me, in my reapplication, I explained in details why I have lump sums in my account, I explained the nature of my business, please gurus in the house help use your eagle eyes to see if my explanation did justice, and if I need to add more to it, I can raise a webform if there is need for it. I have attached the explanation I gave.
Also, I noticed in the pre assessment note, the VO noted that my LOA has expired, I have gotten an updated one, should I upload it or wait until they request for it??

Hello Princetigris The bolded though.. As our custom is here, after a refusal, you order for your GCMS notes to know the exact reasons for the refusal of your application.. When you get your notes, upload here so we can help figure out the concerns of the Visa Officer and tackle these concerns so you can get your Visa in your next application.. I wont advise an appeal if you are not sure of what you did. So order for your notes, when you see the refusal reasons and you are certain it was actually addressed in your application, then you can go for JR.. And I hope you have the money for it cos its not the same amount with Visa Application fee.. Lastly I saw that they refused you for Immigration status, I dont need GCMS notes to know you didnt apply from Nigeria and you failed to explain your current status in the country that you are... Please shed more light on your situation.. Peace princetigris: Hello Fam.
I got a refusal letter this morning, it was stated in the VO letter that: I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence. What should I do at this point? Can I appeal? If Yes, how? |

Please I need your help. IRCC just requested for my updated LOA. I’m uploading it but it’s saying the form could not be submitted because errors were found. Please what am I doing wrong? |

The bolded though.. No problem with IRCC... Keep sending them mails until they are tired of your mails, send at least 5 mails every day and 3 in the midnight (That is if you really want a decision from them though).. Send to Nairobi, Lagos, London, Accra.. Let your subject be "URGENT" with your application number.. And send individual mails to each office, i.e do not send to 1 and copy others... I had 2 of my May applicants get their final decisions this week... So Yours is about to drop also, keep sending those disturbing mails until you get what you want.. Continue this for 3 weeks non stop.. Peace Johnchan2: Hello guys,
please is there any May 2021 applicant still waiting.... My application has been long overdue... Is there any problem with IRCC? |
