The Man sabi slap o, has anyone noticed how his Parishoners instead of addressing the issue of assault on a poor defenseless Nigerian otherwise known as a "witch" by their Man of God,They are here posting all the wonderful things he has done, or his Miraculous wonders, This is what i call brainwashing of the highest level, when people refuse to see the wrong committed by their leaders, reminds me of those pastors that can convince their followers to all kill themselves like WACO in the USA and so many others around the world, Your God is not your Pastor, He is as Human as the rest of us, Don't be putting them on some Celestial scale.

Ok, Mr Akainzo, U cannot deny the fact that the most barbaric acts of violence happen up north, to deny such is just being mischievous, and as i said earlier, The elites up north have not helped matters, u would be surprised to know that their children attend the best schools here in the uk and yet they leave the majority in poverty and all sorts such that make the lose their humanity, The behavior of the north would do this country no good

TravelRe: Customs Checks At Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos by makizee(m): 6:10pm On Sep 05, 2011
Nigerians, you unconsciously encourage these thieves, when a custom official asks you for bribe, Tell him straight that it is wrong and that you have no money to give him, don't let them intimidate you cause they know for a fact that it is wrong in the Airport for that matter, if they try to do shakara, raise your voice a little, try to call the attention of others to what is going on, trust me.by the time the majority of travellers do this, it would discourage them from asking people for bribes, and there is no justification, some of are yanning opask that they are not well paid, what a load of crap, some of them spend their summers abroad too, (like say we get summer for here sef)

@ Djustice my point exactly, a government that played no part in me erecting my house has no rights or moral justification to tell me how much my initial rent rate should be or for how long, this law is not workable, lets see any prospective tenant telling baba lanlord he can't pay two years advance, baba lanlord would simply tell him to search somewhere else , cuz trust me, there is always someone willing to pay with no Qualms

Foreign AffairsIf Not For Tribalism: Fashola Should Be Nigeria's Next President by makizee(op): 11:32am On Aug 03, 2011
You could call it honour from abroad. For many supporters of the Lagos governor, it was one absolutely well earned.
During his recent visit to the country, British Prime Minister, Mr. David Cameron, was quite effusive in his praises for the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola.

According to Cameron, Fashola is one of the emerging African leaders imbued with uncommon integrity and accountability, a factor, he noted, had impacted much on governance in Nigeria’s commercial nerve-centre.

The British leader, during the visit, asserted that leaders on the African continent could borrow one or two lessons from Fashola, insisting that the governor had shown that African leaders could chart a path for strong and accountable governance which could further deepen democracy on the continent.

“What I have seen in London, I have seen a hundred fold here today. From Eko Atlantic City and Balogun Street Market to the biggest part in the most populous country in Africa, you are transforming your state,” Cameron had told Fashola.

And since the visit, many supporters of the governor have been celebrating what they term the British leader’s open endorsement of the Lagos State Governor.
“It’s a good thing that Governor Fashola is being endorsed even by world leaders as one of the best on the African continent,” Charles Adekitan, a member of a new group supporting the governor said of the British Prime Minister’s commendation. “This is what everyone knows in Nigeria. There is not a single Nigerian that does not know that Governor Fashola is the best thing to have happened on the political scene since this the start of this democratic journey in 1999.

But one is happy that what we’ve always known in the country is being recognised even outside our shores.”
But Cameron didn’t visit Nigeria just to unleash a shower of encomiums on the Lagos State Governor. During the visit, the British Prime Minister held bilateral talks with President Goodluck Jonathan. He also delivered a lecture at the Pan-Africa University, Lagos, where he spoke on the development of democracy, not just in Nigeria but across Africa.

In the lecture, entitled Aid, Trade and Democracy in Nigeria, Cameron regretted that countries in Africa had been in dire need of strong leadership since their independence days. He, therefore, charged Nigeria, the world’s most populous black nation, to provide the direction that can bring about desired growth and development on the continent just as he urged African people to be more responsible in making their governments accountable.

Said Cameron: “The responsibility is for you to stand up and hold your governments to account. Across Africa, we can already see the powerful things that happen when the African people rise up and decide to shape their own future. From tackling election abuse in Zimbabwe to the political violence in Kenya, it is not just about donors. It is about you and what you do.”

“African people can hold their governments to account. They can insist on a bigger say in how their country is run. They can stand up and say, in this generation, their children should be vaccinated and go to school. And they can demand more participation in the economy.

“These are the demands that the people have made in such countries as Egypt, Tunisia and Libya. These are the demands that have propelled the Arab Spring. These are the demands, which, supported by a revolution in trade and enterprise, mean Africa can seize its own moment of opportunity. At stake is quite simply the chance to change millions of lives across the continent. The future of Africa is yours. But you have to seize it.

“Look here in Nigeria at the elections for President Goodluck Jonathan. Look at Ghana, flourishing since it moved from military leadership to democracy with 14 per cent growth this year. Look at Cote D’Ivoire too. When President Laurent Gbagbo tried to overturn an election result, ordinary Ivoirians, Africa and the international community at large refused to allow him to make Cote D’Ivoire his own personal fiefdom. Look at the National Transitional Council in Libya which believes in democracy and a country free from tribalism and extremism.”

The British Prime Minister expressed delight that Fashola’s administration had drecorded major progress in Lagos since he was sworn in for his first term as governor on May 29, 2007, saying the governor had been able to demonstrate what strong and accountable governance could achieve in a democracy.

Cameron noted that the on-going developments going on in Lagos had continued to show a lot of hope for the continent. He cited Fashola’s efforts on the Eko Atlantic City Project and the transformation of the Balogun Market as evidence that Lagos is truly working. He enjoined African leaders to use Fashola’s approach to governance as a model for their countries. According to him, although challenges exist in African politics, African leaders must rise up and confront such challenges and serve their people.

While acknowledging that there are other leaders in African that are doing great works for their countries, Cameron reminded his audience of the numerous opportunities for growth that abound across the continent. “In the present age, there are unprecedented opportunities to trade and grow, raise living standards and lift billions from poverty. So, I urge you all: seize these opportunities; grab them and shape them,” he charged.

African leaders, he emphasised, must realise that they must be in the forefront in the efforts to create strong leadership in their countries. According to Cameron, African leaders must insist on the effective, meritocratic and transparent public institutions, which enable people to flourish. He noted that the country possesse the indices that encourage good governance even as he commended the April elections, which he said had been globally described as the freest and fairest in the country’s history.

Cameron affirmed that Nigeria had the human resource needed to provide Africa its much needed leadership in these times, citing what he termed the tremendous energy and ingenuity of the Nigerian people as well as how Nigerians have helped in building the United Kingdom.

“From the civil activism of the churches of South London, to the contribution of Nigerians to British business, law, medicine, sport and music, I have seen the passion and enterprise of Nigerians, changing my country for the better,” the prime minister asserted.

And as part of efforts to assist Nigeria fulfil her potentials, Cameron said his administration would continue to monitor British citizens and companies to ensure that they are not engaged in any untoward business practices. He urged other countries in Europe to take similar actions.
“When we find corruption, robbing the people of their rights, we need to act fast. We want to disclose the payments our companies make to Nigerian government so that you can hold the government to account for the money it receives,” he said.

, Apart from Lagos being the eyes by which the world sees Nigeria, i would say the people and government of Lagos does not discriminate against any tribe in Nigeria even Non Nigerians which is why everybody continues to come here, All the tribes are represented in the Lagos Civil service, same cannot be said about other states which is why they remain backward while Lagos marches into a brighter rewarding future, NOTE, No society truly develops by its own people alone.
