There is another angle to the matter. A professor is a professor in a particular area of study: not in all fields. For instance, if a professor of Physics sets questions for a professor of Philosophy, the Professor of Philosophy is likely to fail woefully. The same thing will happen when the Professor of Philosophy sets questions for that of Physics. |
Kobojunkie:The word "pastor" also means "shepherd" or vise versa, and we understand that many of Jesus' words were in parables which need intervention of Holy spirit to grasp. |
Indeed, I'm over-shocked. This lady is somebody's daughter or sister. Inform "trusted" relative of your movement nowadays. The days are evil. Such can give a clue in this kind of case. The "trusted" is in parentheses because I still don't really trust anyone. So, still ask God to take control. May her soul manage to find rest. |
Just one question first: Is the governor running for an election soon? |
Female students will not die of hunger. They have parents and guardians who send them to school. Whatever they do is not because they are students or anything else. It's because of greed. |
Trump and his wife will recover and his party will later use it to their advantage. Kind of telling everyone: "I have been right all along. I told you that Hydroxychloroquine is the game changer, didn't I?" |
The "Trumpet" will still win again. Easy to predict. My Nigerian experience thought me that he who can divide the people along ethnic lines without any apology will go ahead and win a second term. Like the "97% versus 5%" dichotomy. Just go ahead and maintain your stand, show it in all your appointments including supreme court judges, even the chief judge of the supreme court. Trumpet has little to fear. Only 17% of American population are blacks. Even that 17% will be polarized. |
edoairways:That is their strategy: get you addicted to two or three channels and you pay for 200 Channels without thinking. They should keep those rights and channels to themselves. DStv cured us of that addiction by themselves. At the time they removed DStv Access and forced us to enter Yanga by force in July, we had no problem with it, because Yanga came with many channels and programs which we liked, including the CNN you are flaunting here. We even did three months subscription of Yanga in a row which expired earlier this month. Within the period, most of the stations and programs have been reshuffled and removed by DSTV including CNN, thereby curing us of addiction to them. Before now, I could not believe that I can stay without watching the teienovellas on Televista. But here we are, getting addicted to other channels on another decoder. Mind you, it is not yet TSTV. They are more stable and it will be difficult to leave them and return to DStv. |
If TSTV is really coming out better, especially in our area, we will settle for it. We installed a free to air decoder to sit side by side with the DStv decoder in our sitting room after we discovered that the reason DSTV is reaping off Nigerians is because of football. Majority of us are not football fanatics, so we can afford to delay DStv subscription while we fill the gap with the other decoder. At least, nobody owes the younger siblings excuses, because the TV will still be showing something. If you are a Nigerian in Nigeria, and you are not addicted to watching live football, it's high time you got and fixed an alternative to DStv. It is the only solution to their arrogance. |
Sujexy, You did well. God bless you for this write up. Honestly, I am scared for the future of students and education in Imo state under the present government. Throughout the lockdown, they could not come up with any idea on how to help school children continue learning. Now that other states have reopened schools, their brain is just beginning to tell them to start testing for COVID-19, which other states have been doing and are continuing to do. I wonder what they intend to do with the result of such tests at this time. Even if half of Imo state test positive, how does it relate to school children who have been at home for over eight months now? Did they spread the disease at home? Besides, I'm yet to see how ordinary people can go and get tested in the state. No sample collection centers anywhere in the state. Yet they are using testing as excuse. |
Let the oil dry, everybody will show their through colour. Some will be forced out of the country. |
NKC001:... and remaining Imo state. |
This is commendable, especially the plan to complete 2019/2020, session. I hope they will continue the BCA radio class, because it's what those of us in Imo state are using to keep body and soul together. Our own state has denied us of any form of education since lockdown started. Now, all South East states have began normal school or have announced their date or procedures for reopening, but Imo state is still keeping everyone in the dark. God is watching. |
Edo no be Imo. "Supreme court government, made in Abuja" will not work for Edo people. |
"Head of cows"; was it Just the heads that were struck by lightning or the whole cows? Anyway, going by the price of a cow in the market, I wonder what these herdsmen are doing with the money they make. If these cows were sheltered in a well constructed ranch, they won't be left under the rain, and thus, exposed to lightning. These herdsmen should spend money on buying lands and building ranches. Not using their cows to destroy other people's farmlands. I heard their association talking about investment recently. Investment means sowing money and not hoping to feed from destruction of other people's (farmers') investments or hoping that state governments will dash them free lands for ruga. |
Above every other factor, Gov. Obaseki won because he did well during his first tenure of office. He maintained utmost regard for welfare of his people, such as prompt payment of salary and pensions along with other good works, which Oshiomole failed to do as governor. A lesson for other leaders. |
This election should not end up inconclusive.
INEC, take note. |
Ngenge:He is not gaining any revenue from schools, because it's called "free education", so schools can stay closed as long as possible. Being one of the first number of states to rush into locking down schools, even weeks before it recorded its index case. Now its behaving as though it is the epicenter of COVID-19 in Africa. Besides, once they reopen, principals/ head teachers will begin to ask for chalk money without returning any revenue. "Free education" in South East is almost "worthless" education, and he and his Commissioner for Education don't have enough lever to change it. So, the pupils continue to suffer the consequences not knowing what's hitting them. That notwithstanding, nothing for you until we finish Edo/Ondo elections. That's where the real show will exchange hands, if you get what I mean. |
Some evil spirits might have possessed her body for this to happen. No mother in her right senses would do anything of this sought. |
The man has money to waste. Someone should inform him that we have uncountable acres of lands up for sale on Mars and Pluto. He might be interested. |
Call 112 on emergency if you don't have airtime. It's toll free. But still have airtime in the phone anyway, you may need to call a relative or alert neighbours. |
OP, I suggest you continue talking with Access bank customer care. They will still resolve the issue. At times, resolving bank issues take time, especially if it is inter bank matter. I also noticed that Access bank had network issues last week. I needed to pay about 15 different people through Firstbank mobile transfer. All other banks' transfers were successful apart from three that were Access bank. I had to call the recipients to ask for other bank bank accounts before doing the transfers. Access bank needs to repair their electronic system urgently. |
Newman20:No. Not at all. It's eventually the same penalty, apart from the recommendation that this woman's head be thoroughly examined. Even male rapist target one girl at a time, but this woman took in five boys at the same time. It appears quite odd. |
Oh! May her soul rest in peace and may her family find the fortitude to bear the loss. This is the problem with anyone who often boasts with the words "I can drive". Beware of them. |
Newman20:If it was a man, yes, life imprisonment for him. Psychiatric test for him - NO, because men are often the culprits. It seems a norm for them. But for a woman, oh my goodness! They have to examine her head before sending her to jail. |
After reading through the comments, I'm yet to see one person that moved his/her support from one candidate to the other because of the debate. Instead, all of us are looking for more reasons to support the person we have been supporting from day one. Debates and election campaigns don't sway voters in Nigeria, irrespective of how well the candidates speak. They only exist in order to fulfil all righteousness. |
Let them take her to psychiatric hospital, afterwhich the case should be transferred to Kaduna state. The judgement also multiplied by five. |
Op, how does this marriage make schooling a scam? Explain more before we can pass informed comments. |
Seun, a kind of reward for those mentioned above won't be a bad move. Though, I also moved from "guest' to a registered member recently, Nairaland has been great. Thumb up. |
Alright! More states should wake up from slumber and lead their people. Awareness on policy direction is very important at this time. Which way Nigeria? |
Get the ninety percent first, then fight for the remainder if you really have the time, because the bank and state will surely make it a prolonged issue. |
