Buhari had only one state (Nassarawa) from the 2011 elections. Did you hear him intervene to sway here or there when they were threatening to impeach Al-Makura. |
bamidele029: |
babyosisi:The remedy is for you to go to Onitsha. |
This guy said Buhari must be stopped by all means or he puts everybody in jail. Abeg APC should do something about this post-election defection, otherwise the party will have no identity. |
omololu2020:Arthur Eze said worse than what you quoted, and nobody asked him to apologize. On Wednesday the 13th of November, 2013 at the PDP governorship campaign, Arthur Eze, a chieftain of the party made the following statement about the APC's candidate, Christ Ngige, " That short man called Ngige, we gave him power and he went and joined Awolowo's people; the people that killed the Igbos"The Igbo must accept guilt too. It is from there that genuine healing should start. |
Asuokaa:Were you even allowed to be so relaxed as a foreigner or black to the extent that the Queen could even feel threatened? David Cameron and Gordon Brown should better be seen working for the benefit of the throne, otherwise ... The prime minister is an employee of the Queen, and a a times when his calls come through the Sovereign can even say: "Tell him I am busy." |
Collynzo9:But they seemed relaxed and at a certain stage were even singing. I can't take this Colynzo. I take the measure of a man to be upright and own up to your actions. There are people who I am sure would agree to being intimidated or afraid, if it were so. That to me is better representation than this hypocrisy. |
Asuokaa:O ga oo! Can you ask the Queen of England whether England is her father's property? Mr. freedom fighter you are asking for deportation be dat oo! |
Collynzo9:So they laugh 'fake laughs?' They are hypocrites. Read my signature. |
So, you even applauded and promised the Oba? I am laughing like 2face Idibia. |
Mr. Akiolu had told a gathering which had the Eze Ndi-Igbos (Igbo traditional rulers) of all the local government areas in Lagos State that they should cast their votes for his chosen governorship candidate or “perish inside the lagoon”. The Oba supports the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Akinwunmi Ambode. “On Saturday, if anyone of you goes against the Ambode I picked, that is your end. If it doesn’t happen within seven days, just know that I’m a bastard and it is not my father who born me,” Mr. Akiolu told the gathering. “The one you have done before, he’s my son. Jonathan is my son and I speak to him every day. But, this Saturday, by the grace of God almighty Allah, I am the owner of Lagos and the owner of this…for the time being.” As the Oba spoke, there were murmurs in the audience. But Mr. Akiolu continued, determined to get his message across. “Listen. Because this is an undivided chair. The palace belongs to the dead, the living and those coming in future. “On Saturday, if anyone of you, I swear in the name of God almighty Allah, goes against my wish that Ambode, Insha Allahu, will be the next governor of Lagos State, the person is going to die inside this water.” The audience, including the Igbo chiefs, applauded. The Oba went ahead. “I’m not ready to beg, appeal to anybody o. And that’s why Asiwaju and the governor said, I said that is your own. Even the two of them they cannot disobey me. Nobody knew how I picked Ambode. Jimi (Agbaje) is my blood relation and I told him in a plain language he can never be governor in Lagos for now. “The future belongs to God. I am not begging anybody to go, but you must not, I repeat… what you people cannot do in Onitsha, what you cannot do in Aba or anywhere… Another round of applause erupted in the room. “If you do what I want, Lagos will continue to be prosper for you. If you go against it, you will perish in the water. Finish.” The audience responded with chants of “Kabiyesi o.” When it was time for the Igbo leaders to respond to the Oba, there was uproarious laughter in the room. Gordion Ojiako, the spokesperson of the Eze Ndi Igbos in Lagos, promised Mr. Akiolu that they would vote massively for the APC during Saturday’s gubernatorial election. “Kabiyesi, we are promising you. Why we came all of us is for you to see our faces. If we say we don’t want (on) Saturday…we can’t come here,” Mr. Ojiako, the Eze Ndi Igbo in Amuwo Oriade, said. The Igbo leader asked his colleagues, “By Saturday, all of us are going to vote whooooo?” They chorused, “Ambode!” “Ehen! And we tried. Even when we were trying for the national… Kabiyesi you can see this paper, this is the rally we did. This is the rally we did, commissioner can testify. “So we are telling you that coming Saturday we are going to show you the way it used to be. “And why we’ve come here today sir, Kabiyesi, is to come and congratulate and thank you for being our father in Lagos. We don’t need to talk much because after Saturday, Sunday we come for party before you do handover.” The Igbo leaders then broke into a victory song, “Winner oooo winner oooo…” The Oba joked that Mr. Ojiako should come to Sunday’s victory party with his “young daughter”. There was more laughter in the room. The monarch’s speech came under severe criticism with Nigerians lambasting him for his utterance. Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, told him to apologise to the Igbo people in Lagos “without delay”. On Monday, when PREMIUM TIMES asked Mr. Ojiako why they were not offended by the Lagos monarch’s statement, he said it would be wrong to challenge the king inside his palace. “We will go back and convene a meeting of Igbo stakeholders and respond to him appropriately,” Mr. Ojiako said. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/180738-igbo-leaders-applauded-oba-of-lagos-as-he-delivered-anti-igbo-speech.html |
You too are just recovering from the shock of Buhari's win. |
This is not fair. All this wahala we did only for PDP man to come enjoy – someone who two weeks ago was working against our interest. |
It should stay, to avoid fraud. Some will claim "Place of Birth", or "Place of Residence", as well as their ancestral homes, putting them at an advantage. Already, you can become whatever you want to become, in whatever state you want if your contribution to that community is noted and you've identified with the people of your host state. |
nigerianvenom:He is a divisive figure and therefore not good for the unity of the country. |
Jetjacky:It's not good to be perceived working against the interest of the natives. |
Jetjacky:So, you're doing these deliberately as a step yo realization of your Biafra. |
Man, it's not a good position to be in, to be seen working against the interest of the King and his subjects. |
@OP: Mine is just to query your statistics that give Igbos 40% of Lagos population. If this were so, then the Yoruba's are a minority in their own land. Remember, it is said that there are as many as 250 tribes in Nigeria. If Igbos can take up 40% of Lagos, what percentage would the other 248 tribes (excluding the Yorubas) take? Igbos are at most 5% of Lagos. With other non-Yoruba tribes combined, they can make at best about 30% of Lagos, leaving the Yorubas with about 70%. Remember, all non-Lagos Yorubas and other tribes apart from Igbo resident in Lagos will take sides in this brouhaha and vote for Ambode. Better revise your statistics before the reality sets in for you on Saturday. |
Ikengawo, where you at? You cannot create a problem and run away. Come and finish what you started oo! |
Ikengawo:Agbaje is a goner since you've coloured him as an 'Igbo candidate.' |
Ikengawo:See your massa, saying: 'What more problems can I cause now!'
|
Ikengawo:Whenever you go home, do they beg you to come back? |
Ikengawo:After all your derogatory statements and pictures of Buhari you lost the elections. Now you're back with a new project – tribal politics. |
You're now emboldened and you think you can takeover the State. |
Sai Buhari. |
barcanista:Just like your prediction that PDP has SW on a lockdown. Even Ekiti's win has some serious questions to it. Tell honestly: What has the SW man got in the PDP that he'd consider it to APC? So if na you you'll go to a party that pushed two or three measly ministries to you to a one that you're sure of a VP, and therefore would have a greater say in the affairs of the country. Not everybody wants to be a father Xmas, you know. |
Rawani:Rawani, the news quoted by wallex1983 is just a satire on GEJ's "Yam and Goat Theory." http://newsrescue.com/breaking-stealing-is-now-corruption-president-elect-buhari-declares-satire/ There's no way this country can move without overlooking some of those crimes. The dirt is so monumental that it may sink the ship if it is to be wholly dug. And tell me; would even those they're running to, to get soft landing escape if this searchlight is to be beamed without fear or favour.
|
Sweetguy25:The dude raised some valid points. I too would want this regime probed, but if Buhari decides to, in the interest of "peace and reconciliation" provide escape routes, I can manage that. |
Rexyl:That's the only way: "Independent Inquiry." All should lend their voice. Read this: https://www.nairaland.com/2239713/opinion-didnt-vote-forgive-wrongdoers |
Jezyfreezman:Yo! yo!, 'freeze. With our man B. at the helm, thing've 'ready begun to be good. Been here giving you some support. Cheers and God bless. |
In his contribution to Naij.com , Ibraheem Dooba looks back at the outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan’s legacy and the praises directed at Muhammadu Buhari, the president-elect. Do Nigerians need Nigeria’s Nelson Mandela in the person of Buhari? | “Let me state clearly that President Jonathan has nothing to fear from me,” the president-elect, Genera Muhammadu Buhari, said when he received the certificate of return from Professor Attahiru Jega, the INEC chairman. “Although we may not agree on the methods of governing the nation,” Buhari continued, “he is a great Nigerian and still our president.” Not entirely correct. Is Jonathan still our president? Yes. Is he a Nigerian? Yes. But should we call someone who literally danced when Boko Haram were killing us a great person ? An individual who wrecked our economy? A man who told Nigerians he didn’t “give a damn” even if we criticized him “from Heaven” when we simply asked him to declare his assets? Up to this moment, Jonathan has not been to Chibok! Jonathan is only a Nigerian, not a great one. Buhari also said in his quite inspiring speech that his love and concern for this nation and what he desires for it extends to all, even those who do not like the APC. “You’re all my people, and I shall treat every one of you as my own,” in his words. Beautiful. You see, general, we have already accepted our compatriots who supported Jonathan. But leaders who misled people must take responsibility and accept the consequences of their actions. When Buhari was asked during the Chatham House lecture if he would give amnesty to Boko Haram, he said doing so wouldn’t be fair to Nigerians because people had died due to Boko Haram. That’s how we expect you him to talk, and that’s how we expect him to act now. Consider Nigerians first, then speak and act. Forgiving Jonathan or saying that he’s nothing to fear from you is not being fair to Nigerians. So should we just forget about all the money that disappeared and the lives that were lost? We didn’t elect you to forgive. We elected you to lead. You’re no Mandela. Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years. He forgave that personal injury done to him. You’re free to forgive whatever personal harm done to you by Jonathan, but don’t pretend you’re going to forgive bad things done to us on our behalf. You don’t have that mandate. We prefer you to be a Lee Kwan Yew of Singapore or Dr. Mahathir Mohamed of Malaysia. People who were not overburdened by the concerns of big individuals and didn’t give a damn about egos. People who, within reason, crushed anything that stood in the way of their march to national development. That’s who you are. That’s what we want you to be. That’s why we elected you. We hope rumours which purport that you’ve grown soft are not true. We didn’t invite you to lead us because you’re now soft. We invited you to bring the toughness you’re renowned for into the democratic arena. Instead of enacting decrees, we now want you to use the rule of law. In other words, retain the toughness, absent the dictatorship. Remember that the wave of change that brought you here is still here to keep you on your toes. Yes, we’re here and going nowhere. The momentum gathered in voting Jonathan out is still with us and can only grow. We’ll not hesitate in criticizing you, we’ll not hesitate in criticizing you harshly. Don’t continue with the lowering of our standards, in the way of the old. For that’s what you’ll be doing if you continue to forgive rascals and allow the AGIP to crash our party. If you do so, in the future, any president can mess up our economy, kill professionalism in the military and disunite us – believing he would be forgiven. Let’s not set that precedent now. Don’t forgive people on our behalf! | http://www.naij.com/415275-ibraheem-dooba-nigerians-dont-need-a-mandela-in-buhari.html |
