meccuno:Hausas or Hausa Fulanis are used interchangeably. Your assertion as to the Igbo being more than the Hausa is debatable, since Hausas (I think) have far more established settlements in Lagos. |
meccuno:^^^^ See an earlier answer above. |
meccuno:Do you know most governors of Kano state are from other northern states. The common thing is they are considered Hausa and most likely were born in Kano. A lot like this obtains in Yoruba land. I don't know what obtains in Igbo land, but for you to be governor in Hausa land or Yorubaland, you must be identified fully with the people there. |
dunkem21:That's what I am saying dunkem. You see, Psquare will be somewhere laughing at you like 2face. He won't join you in this fight. When the worse comes to worst, you'll only see him at the King's palace begging for his half-brothers not to be lagoonized. |
freshdude99:Everything is allowed, but the day you start calling Abj a 'no man's land' is the day the natives will surface. |
And another thing is: Tinubu is your enemy. Why should he make a Hausa man President, Yoruba man VP and he couldn't even make you the Senate President or Speaker of the House. If he cannot do that why won't he give you small Lagos? All he did was to start the the process giving you mere commissionership when he was governor. He and Fashola must be disgraced for this almajiri pittance. |
I am tired of all these Igbo people crying everywhere. Every thread you open now is filled with cries about Oba Akiolu's plan to dump the Igbos into the lagoon. Some even say Lagos is a 'No mans land', or that Oba Okiolu doesn't own Lagos. So it was some few years about Fashola wanting to expel them all to Igbo land. But I ask: Did Fashola deport only Igbos? Since all of you love Lagos this much that you cannot bear the repudiation of this jingoism; I have an easy plan for you. It is: If you're an Igbo boy marry a Yoruba girl and if you are an Igbo girl marry a Yoruba man. I think this will solve the problem in the meantime. That way you become a Lasgidi man by association. The children too become Lagosians since they are referred to as "Sons of the soil", even by indigenous Lagosians. That is what smart Peter Okoye, some of my Hausa people and some other Nigerians did, .... and they lived happily, ever after. Do this and many small other things I may advise you in due course, and someday you may even become the governor of Lagos state. No need of all these crying, fightings and forcing. I don't want to say you're deficient in diplomacy, but you don't get what you covet by hostility, especially if it's in the hands of somebody more powerful than you. |
stigman:Or you don't want to hear the truth. |
stigman:No bi dea leg dey carry come Lagos. Sey Lagos people go Umuahia beg them make dem come Lagos? |
Popemax:Popipo, why are you afraid? Relax. It's a joke. Nobody is throwing you into the lagoon. |
stigman:But which Oba is not from Nigeria? Would you agree to even one foot of Igboland being called a 'No man's land?' As for the touts you see in Oshodi, they think they have a right to their land, though I am not supporting what they're doing. |
TAEKWONDO1:You're unlike many to have seen this far. |
stigman:Are you asking whose land Lagos is? I may not know, but it doesn't sound like Maxi Moses owns it. |
Lindseyrd:And the worst thing is, they don't understand the reference to the lagoon is a cultural thing. The Oba may call this to even a Yoruba man if he's seen working against the interests of Lagoon. |
stigman:I think the Yoruba's would prefer you zip Maxi moses' mouth and ship him to Onitsha if he's afraid of the lagoon. |
vinkod007:I am saying that you're taking the lagoon issue too seriously. Relax, the Oba is not pushing you or anybody into the water. Try learning about other people's cultures. |
ITbomb:There as many Hausa Fulanis in Lagos as there are Igbos. But you won't find them calling Lagos a no man's land. |
Niwdog:Tinubu is not a Lagos indigene, ... but Mazi Moses is, abi? That is why he's dividing the river to make way for Igbo colonies. |
sexyjob:A Yoruba man living in Yoruba land is an indigene. That does not stop other non-Yoruba men residing in Yoruba land with full rights due to all Nigerians. |
deltateam:You are the one who's mad by even thinking the Oba will push you or anybody into the lagoon. You don't know people's tradition but you're always ready to open your big mouth on what you don't know. Is the reference to drowning in the lagoon used only against the Igbo? It's not your fault. You don't know other people's cultures. |
udokpuenyi:You don try; because of this election Igbokwe is not Igbo na Agbaje be Igbo, from Ihiala local government. |
missangela:He was mistaken as an Igbo man and dumped under the Onitsha bridge. That was why the Igbo's felt he was treated unfairly by Fashola, hence their support for him. Igbo people sabi cry where it is uncalled for. Did Fashola not deport Hausa people too? |
Tinubu started all this problem, by starting to appoint them into his cabinet as commissioners. See now, they think they're stronger and are wrestling for positions with the indigenes. |
We don't know what Buhari's plans are, but this is a nice idea and it's better than blanket amnesty which I canvassed before. The amnesty period, I think, should be reduced to six months instead of the eight you suggested. |
I am not in Lagos, but I've told my girlfriend who's in Lagos to go out and vote Ambo. The same strategy PDP used that hasn't worked against Buhari is what they're doing in Lagos against Ambo, but they'll fail. Anything apart from Ambo is a recipe for chaos as the indigenes of Lagos will feel their land is being taken from them by outsiders. |
ommo:Thanks man. I understand him quite well to know why he's throwing tantrums. 'wireless is not happy about the change that has occurred in the country. |
fair14:The difference is Obasanjo took a risk. Anything could happen and he is ready to stand by the consequences of his decisions to leave PDP. These crop of defectors are cowards, hoping to only eat the bread after it's been baked. |
Anybody who decamped after the presidential election should be rejected. |
nigerianvenom:Where have you been that it's today you want answers. Not yo derail, I think the thread is alleges that Buhari promised to make Naira equal to the Dollar, which many have pointed out to that he was misquoted. |
mekaboy:But under GEJ we don't have right to demand anything. We were shouted down and accused of everything. We thought it's Asari, Fayose, Clark, OPC, MASSOB, Boko Haram. and secessionists who have those rights. But since you're talking of the ideal, I pray you don't suffer our fate under under the outgoing admin. |
And that soldier just looked at the children and passed. Wasn't there anything he could do to help? |
I don't like the way these PDP people are trooping to APC. I am beginning to be confused when people like mekaboy of the "GEJ till ..." fame start arrogating the right to tell our elected party men what to do more than us who elected them. I don't see myself telling GEJ what to do had he won, since I didn't believe in him. Please you all should stay in your PDP. Don't come and infect us with clueless(ness). |
