Really? Which ethnic group then qualifies as indigenous? Besides, what is really the arguement here? That a group of people have decided not to be part of an enforced 1914 colonial arrangement called Nigeria. Naturally, those peoole should be granted a referendum.
The "indigenous people" are vulnerable tribesmen, undeveloped and mostly have subsistent economies, akin to those of hunting and gathering economies. Nigeria too have the right to protect its sovereignty.

Third world reasoning. Who told it is a crime to promote secession? It is the right of people to agitate for secession and Nigeria is a signatory to several international laws on the right to self determination. Agitation for secession only becomes a crime when people take up arms.

Nigerians still act like we are in military rule. Nigerians are so backward that they still think that all Nigerian Soldiers are allowed impunity and to shoot at will. This is not true.
The right to self I determination of true indigenous people does not necessarily mean partitioning a country into different units. You ate propagating what you don't understand. The Igbo people, by the UN definition, do not qualify as "indigenous people."
Politics11 Disturbing Questions On Nnamdi Kanu And His IPOB by MalcoImX(op): 7:43am On Sep 05, 2017
1. Was there a case similar to Kanu's, where a freedom fighter had dual nationality, i.e. holds passports of two independent countries? Would that not cause conflicts of interest and allegiance?
.
2. Can a true freedom fighter allow those humiliating prostrations and those shoes licking as done to Kanu by his followers? For those who'd defend this, does his culture allow prostration as a sign of respect?
.
3. Kanu said he was offered Biafra while in prison but he rejected it unless Benue and Rivers states were added to it. This he believed was to induce him to abandon the Biafra cause. But what sense does it make to reject what you and most people thought was your dream all along for something nearly impossible?
.
4. Kanu is in the habit if calling others unprintable names, but can it also be true, as those accusations are beginning to point back to him. I've read in many places where he's referred to as pig, fraud, gay, or crazy etc.
.
5. Is he not suffering from hallucination and delusions to have believed that Buhari is still in London; that the Buhari we're seeing is one Jibrin from Sudan?
.
6. Is he also a club stripper, as alleged by some?
.
7. Is it true that Kanu has no known occupation? In his defence, some said he's a company owner in Britain. But some concerned Nigerian dug out that the said company was just a shield to cover Kanu from being referred to as a vagabond.
.
8. Where did Kanu get the money to establish his Radio Biafra, in a foreign country, when his company's networth in history is not more than £300? I am looking at the logistics and cist here, seeing that even the BBC and VOA do sometimes have reception issues in Nigeria.
.
9. Was he also a club stripper in London as alleged by some?
.
10. Is he a Christian, Jew, an animist or an atheist?
.
11. Did iPOB and Kanu know that ND militants, Boko Haram, OPC, Shi'ites etc. problems started with confronting the security forces as his followers have started to do; and do these confrontations achieve any of the groups' goals?

//
Together we move Nigeria forward.
We can thrash out these issues or even ask some more, if there's any, without any insults - please!

the army started the whole thing by arresting people carrying biafran flags.

Read the story from the beginning first.

They tried such here in enugu at some point. Pple pelted them with rocks and they decided to reinforce. That was when the governor (ugwuanyi) stepped in and asked them (soldiers) to leave the area as they have no business there.
I am just saying what I think a sensible person shouldn't do. Don't confront the army!! It is a crime in Nigeria to promote secessionist tendencies. The best the man could have done was to contact a lawyer, if he thinks his rights had been trampled on.

What is selective about this thread? Is nepotism not the order of the day in Nigeria? Look at Abuja for example, how many southerners were appointed substansive ministers of Abuja? None. Yet we have northerners heading NPA, Customs, NNPC. Is there a law in the constitution baning an Obi or Afolabi from heading the ministry of the federal capital territory?
The North is your sport. Obj was there for 8 years, Jonathan was for 5 - 6 years, and they had it so smooth. It was not a crime if they appoint anybody from any region, but for this man who's barely two years, his must be scrutinized.

Finally you manage to show face grin weldone.
Your claim about Igbo dominance in the national team is null and void because admittance into the national team is base on merit, not quota system. Sporting activities are strictly based on talent and merit, thus not on the same padestral with politics and govt administration.
The question you should be asking is; is Federal character same with quota system? Federal character is the equitable distribution of govt appointments and positions among ethnic groups in a country to prevent unfair domination. This system is good for multi ethnic countries to prevent one tribe dominating govt positions at the expense of others. Quota system on the other hand is the mass distribution of govt slots and positions to particular set of people whether they are qualified for it or not. Now if govt distributes certain positions to a particular region, it is up to the govt to make sure that those to be appointed are qualified, otherwise it will be just another case of quota system. A situation we have seen too many times in this country.
Well, those who are conversant with Nigerian football would agree that you're a novice. This is a place whdry Westerhof said players do give as much as $15,000 to be included in the national team.
If this is alleged to be happening there, as with many facets of Nigerian life, I wouldn't be convinced by a nairalander, who is known to support his tribe in all, that the dominance of the Igbo was on merit.
.
We've taken it as Nigeria's victory, but when you have representatives of Nnamdi Kanu telling us only they are the best, it is a nationalistic duty to tell them they're being bigoted as things could not be the way they're making it up.

Jonathan setting up a committe is after the deed has been done, firstly in a complex nation like Nigeria you will be very careful about your utterances because it may be over bloated and over heat the already heated polity, how did other people interprete his statement that's the question, same way people give extreme interpretation of the things writtnen in Koran that gave birth to terrorism,
Jonathan as a person was very civil and matured with his choice of words, he did more for the northerners than even the so called acclaimed Igbos that are the cornerstone of his administration, the Igbos cannot particularly point projects executed by the Jonathan led administration, besides those two statements are different, it was not divisive, he may have been making that statement with regards to their intellectual contribution to his administration, as Was The case of Okonjo Iwuala, practically and realistically were the northerners not carried along in his administration?? Was there a time he was accused of divisive and nepotic tendencies?? I am not a fan of Jonathan as the Igbos did not benefit anything from him, but the truth must be told, then why will katsina state have more slots in the DSS recruitment than the entire south east, but when the time for unity schools cut off marks comes, south east is given the highest cut off mark, why is it that between Ameachi, Chris Ngige and Ogbonnaya Onu, no one was appointed the secretary to the government of the federation as in so doing would have erased the notion that his appointment into key positions are lopsided, and these people worked with him tirelessly even against their own people to ensure his success into Aso Rock, hate actions are worse than hate speeches.
1. Commissions of inquiry are to find out what caused a problem and offer solutions. I still ask you: What is their recommendations as it relates to Buhari?
2. I am not in a position to say to the government, why is so and so not given a post or why is the SE not given the secretary to the FG.
3. Jonathan's government to me was the worst thing to have happened to Nigeria. Point to me what he has done to the North. Was it not under him that BH was seizing Nigeria's territory?
PoliticsRe: Thank You To Buhari by MalcoImX: 10:19am On Sep 04, 2017
clarocuzioo:
The question I think you should answer is what was the fallout of that statement?? How was it interpreted by your northern brothers, why did they engage is mass killings of innocent Corps members and other civilians. Please answer me why there was that ethnic cleansing,
As for your second propaganda, the civilian lives were already destroyed by the menace of Boko Haram, and please always be truthful amnesty complained of the violation of Human Rights in the fight against Boko Haram not because a state of emergency was decleared, these are two different scenarios, People were killed, raped, houses and churches were burnt, women were abducted so in a situation you have all these playing out tell me where is the civilian life, obviously a state of emergency has to be declared until normalcy is restored to avoid further damages and killings, until then there's no existence of normalcy,
I was also expecting to hear your response on the 97/5% statement but you avoided answering because you know the truth, and also tell me why katsina state got more slots in the DSS recruitment more than the entire south east states?? Does it also means literally and not in reality?? Truth is life
1. I refer it back to you. What is the outcome of the commission set up by the government of Jonathan to look into the post election violence? And, still, what is their verdict on Buhari and those trying to relate Buhari to that violence?
.
2. You cannot compare the act of criminals with those government. Government is to protect lives and properties while the opposite is the case with criminal enterprise.
.
3. It is not a justification, but Jonathan has made similar statements that are viewed as divisive too (e.g. the Igbo are the cornerstone of my administration), but your double standards won't see it as such. The 97% and 5% statement are factual, just as Jonathan's 'Igbo as cornerstone,' but they're miscalculations, and shouldn't have been made.

Really, I love your defense, it's only quota system graduates that will be convinced by that shallow explanation, if it was just a figurative expression why were Corps members killed that year after the loss of election that year, Is that also a figurative action leading to figurative deaths??
Your second defense in which you brought a picture, did the situation then not call for a state of emergency, Boko Haram was killing , abducting, raping and burn down houses, people were sacked from their communities, churches were been burnt with reckless abandon, why will an eldestatesman not join forces with the government to put a stop to the menace, rather he came to air a statement that portrays him to be sympathetic to the activities of the dreaded group, thank God today he is the head of state and one of his greatest challlenge is Boko Haram, then also tell me that the 97/5% statement is figurative, or did we not see it reflect in his political appointments and DSS recruitment, even the recent NNPC seems to be so, please in the best interest of this great nation let us be honest, fair and just in our conducts, that's the only way we can guarantee peace and unity
I've said what I know and all you do is infer, and keep bringing up statements that were clarified many times.
1. You cannot give a literal explanations to idiomatic expressions, not only for Hausa but for any language. If you want a literal explanation 'kare jini biri mini,' would mean 'both dogs and monkeys are bloodied.' The expression only meant being in tough situations or in a competitive mood. I am trying to disabuse your mind and you keep on to your jaundiced views. I'll check for online Hausa expressions, if there is, for you to see.
2. As for BH, you cannot fight a war by destroying civilians' lives and their economy. If the army repeats what they did under Jonathan during Buhari, the people of the North will still complain. In any case, it's not only Buhari that complained about the manner the issue was handled - Nyako did and Jonathan got him impeached, Amnesty International and Human Rights too did.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with Buhari. We're all living witness to how far they went to see that Buhari didn't become the President. Something unprecedented in African culture - wishing death on a person - was done to him, but he scaled all these. A certain C. Don Adinuba, an Igbo was surprised and was asking himself, 'Why are the Igbo internet warriors doing like this?' For some it's the pain of GEJ's loss that has refused to go away.

d. 1965 invasion of Dominican rep.
e. 1983 invasion of Grenada
f. 1989 invasion of Panama

4. Your US had its own 'Biafra' between 1861 to 1865. The American Civil had an estimated deaths of about 700, 000, with thousands more incapacitated.

5. US was the first and only country to use nuclear bombs on human beings (though to you it's not a thing of concern as long as it's not on Christian nations). They dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki (Japan). "Within the first two to four months following the bombings, the acute effects of the atomic bombings had killed 90,000–146,000 people in Hiroshima and 39,000–80,000 in Nagasaki; roughly half of the deaths in each city occurred on the first day of the bombing."
"The uranium bomb detonated over
Hiroshima on 6 August 1945 had an
explosive yield equal to 15,000 tonnes of TNT. It razed and burnt around 70 per cent of all buildings and caused ... deaths along with increased rates of cancer and chronic disease among the survivors. A slightly larger plutonium bomb exploded over Nagasaki three days later levelled 6.7 km2 of the city and killed 74,000 people by the end of 1945. Ground temperatures reached 4,000°C and radioactive rain poured down."
