They send their children abroad to school and teach the Hausa's Quran. Only Nigerians start differentiating between Fulani and Hausa. Fulani had dominated the Hausa's for long and they are still minority but civilized. I pity the Hausa's You are right. All through my stay up north, I have never seen a Fulani man enroll his child in the almajiri system. Their kids are always posh and fly. |

agabusta: Why are you so particular about Lagos loosing it's economy? It seems to give you some delight which I find strange.
I hope this is not a result of envy.
What's the big deal with Lagos that you are even still wishing it to go down economically? Are all the roads motorable? Is there superb housing and transportation? Is there good housing and stable electricity? Is there no poverty, lack and anguish in Lagos just like other states?
It's only in Africa people living in poverty and struggle still envy themselves and try to bring each other down.
Go to the US and see successful states! That the economy of one is on the rise does not bring down the economy of the other.
The success of US is as a result of the conglomeration of highly successful and viable states.
That Alabama/Colorado/Indiana hopes to rise to be more viable economically does not mean they should be hoping for the downfall of California/New York/Texas.
You need to change your mentality. That the economy of Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Anambra blossoms massively will not mean the economy of Lagos and Kano will go down.
Infact it's a plus to the country if we have so many states with blossoming economy. Ogbeni, hate is the watchword. That's what drives some of these people. They want everywhere else to burn, save theirs. I have never seen people this hateful in my entire life. They are all about I, and I alone. |

People like you who know better should be propagating tolerance, not narrow-mindedness. Nigeria is first a secular state before anything else. That should mean something to you, especially as you claim to uphold the oneness of the country than most. A person who consumes alcohol isn't more sinful than those who do slow and sniff all sorts of things. Don't even try to act as though thou art the holiest. Live and lets live. Just as u said theres nothing in igbo land because u nd ur brothers up north and allies hv schemed it so, when igbos try to speak sgainst it u say we are cry babies, that we are emotional people that we are greedy, all of u just talking trash think that we are happy as our people leave our region everyday to hostile regions where they can wake up anyday nd kill you because of cartoons u know nothing abt, i beleive in Nigeria not because am stup1d not to hv seen d evil it has done to my people nd our region but because i know that theres a God up there looking at all our actions. The law of karma still exists. Of all the regions only the SE didnt get a rail line not even one, u people kept beating around d bush, d same way you all did when buhari started with his tribalistid apppointments where SE got nothing, they said we shud wait we waited yet nothing changed, dats hw u people wud tell us to wait for our own projects and nothing wud change. Then in the next 10years u or maybe ur son wud visit the east and start telling us bullshit that theres nothing there. Dont worry continue. Like a lot of well meaning Nigerians here and out there, there was never a time when I supported the unjust treatment of any region in Nigeria. I am all for equal treatment of everyone with no exceptions whatsoever. But you must understand that politics is a game of lobby. That your region isn't captured points to the fact that your leaders in the NA aren't doing well enough. I remember a while back when your people were jubilating over the exclusion of the se from the railway project, citing they didn't want anything to do with the FG. They thought it will provide the hammer with which to nail the coffin on the apc in the region. Had they buckled up and asked for inclusion instead, something would have been done about it. Alas, they had a different narrative; even supporting Dogara for smuggling lots of his communities in... At whose detriment? For every project you see anywhere, someone somewhere fought for it to be laid. |

Besides, the two places you mentioned are just two in the thousands of places all over the world the Igbo man could have gone. Or did the tell you the world starts and stops in Lagos?
Nigeria was a mistake abd people like Ojukwu were the ones who tried to correct that mistake of the colonial masters Lol. As if we don't know that it is easier for a broke man in Neni to make it all the way to Lagos than go straight to Singapore where he'd be likely returned in a casket. Like it or not, Lagos and other parts of Nigeria gave you the wings with which to fly. That you prefer it enough to "make it" what it is lays credence to my claim. Why didn't they make another Lagos in the east? Ask yourself how many of them died on the way even before making it to Libya. That some of your people can now afford to fly directly to the UK rather than take the long route to deadzone is thanks to the riches bestowed on them by the state. I wouldn't be surprised to find that you now have a phone thanks to that uncle of yours in Oshodi. And as for Ojukwu, he was just another man who caused lots of innocents to fight his war of greed. It was never about advancing the interest of the Igbos. Would there have been a word from him if he was picked to head the state instead of Gowon? |

It's obvious that only those behind the feud are the beneficiaries. Bunch of old men with selfish agenda chopping where they never sow.
In a world where everyone is looking after themselves, I think no one stands on a moral ground high enough to accuse Tinubu of being too selfish. At least, he has an interest in advancing a lot other people, even if it still benefits him in some way.

gbosaa: Hypocrite. You lump S.E and S.S. when it suits you then jump to another thread or forum to argue that SE is different from SS. Ain't you one of the most vocal guys here who call SE landlocked or use the term 'expansionist' to describe them when they ally with people from Rivers and Calabar areas? Like Buhari, you'll brand certain people Igbos even when they've rejected that identity.
South East was built on the sweat and blood of the Igbos. It exists because of the toils of the indigenes.
There is nothing wrong in asking the government to execute projects in that region. I'd rather the govt get the roads and other transport networks like railways working than bother with govt appointments. Lots of regions can't function without govt appointments. SE can function without that as long as there is fairness and equity in distribution of amenities.
Business men from the east have to come to Lagos to clear their goods then face the perilous adventure of moving them down with corrupt police, army and even the custom and excise men competing to empty their pockets.
Must everything be politics to you guys, why can't fed govt get the railways working like it's done in most part of the world to ease transport. These people contribute a lot to revenue.
Not a lot of people depend on sending multiple CVs to businesses. To those who want to establish businesses, fed govt should encourage and support them by creating friendly environment...provide steady power.
Not everyone is ipob, lots of people down in the east despise that movement and it's wrong to tar everyone with the same brush.
Buhari was asked by journalists about Igbo 'marginalisation'...he replied that he appointed Igbo men in key positions while mentioning emefiele and amaechi.!! Amaechi I'm sure would not like to be identified as Igbo. Your submission is compelling. Nobody with a feeling will dismiss those issues you've raised. I've always maintained that Mr. President hasn't done quite well making those careless remarks. Even those agitating for Biafra aren't really after it, all they want is to be heard. Everyone deserves a look at. Had things been going the way they should, they wouldn't even bother clamoring for self-governance. In every government policy, there are winners and losers, but it calls for questions when the loser is always the same man.. May God guide us aright. I appreciate your perception. |

I don't know why they failed to setup a development commission but the truth is that the easterners failed to take any action towards ensuring that something sort of that nature was instituted to redress the problems. The level of destruction in areas you mentioned is nothing when compared to what terrorism has done to north east. Even the whole world is aware of that and foreign donations have been pledged to ensure that the north east is redeveloped. It will be terrible if news goes out that a bill that was supposed to redevelop a war torn part of Nigeria wasn't passed. What will the international media say? Barcanista,
You're a different ball game altogether. You're a great guy, and your intentions are good, I understand. But you are putting this the wrong way. Sometimes, you have an issue telling politics apart from neutral circumstances.
While the means is every bit political, you have to understand that the end isn't. It's not about who's contributing what, rather, it should be about putting all hands on deck to rid the country of the menace.
If it's not properly handled, an implosion will be visited upon us soon, and forget that you are in faraway Rivers? These things have far-reaching effects. I think you were doing okay until you chirped in "herdsmen commission". That's comical. QuotaSystem: Ironically, your answer is within your comment.
Why would Alhaji Dangote build his mega refinery in the Niger Delta when you're already threatening him with terrorists? Jokers.
For your information and that of oilsoup and other posters feigning ignorance, Dangote is NOT laying even ONE inch of pipeline for crude oil from the Niger Delta. He is a smart businessman who knows when to be risk averse. There is a reason he is building close to the ocean and that is to import the crude oil his refinery needs (Nigerian crude is not cheaper than oil in the international market) and that will save him from the criminality in the Niger Delta.
Furthermore, according to the land use act, the resources underneath the land (including oil) belongs to the Federal government of Nigeria and not any specific group of people accidentally born above the land. No amount of kicking and shouting will bury this fact.
Finally, your creek terrorists have been tamed by Buratai's fire spitting birds in the sky in case you have been living under a rock and had not realized. Your scavengers have now learnt their manners.
I'm not asking for your opinion on the above, I'm only informing you so don't bother with a response. At this rate, just seeing your name on the viewers list on any thread will send chills down these guys' spines. |
