boostdom: You have been spreading alternative facts on this thread. If Catalonia seccedes, Barca will be not be in La liga according to Barca Prez and La Liga Prez http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/10/catalan-independence-affect-fc-barcelona-171004072234424.html
https://www.thestar.com/sports/soccer/2017/09/08/spanish-soccer-league-worried-about-barcelonas-future-if-catalonia-breaks-away.html
Also, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland have the right to seccede from the UK and they have exercised that right. They are still in the UK because majority voted to stay.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Ireland_border_poll,_1973
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welsh_devolution_referendum,_2011 Bro, that was what I saw. It was a series of tweets from some barca handle that I can't even remember anymore. Tried to do some digging but nothing came up. I am well aware of the rules. Told a friend this morning that were Catalonia to secede, Valencia would automatically go top of the table. I only based that particular response off the tweets I saw quoting Javier Tebas. About the UK secessionists, I don't see the alternative fact there. That's what's up, straight up. That said, I appreciate your civil approach. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Catalan Parliament Declares Independence From Spain by malton: 8:00pm On Oct 27, 2017 |
einsteine: The rules of the league does not allow non Spanish teams join LA Liga. If the seccession becomes official, Barca automatically is expelled from LA Liga regardless of what Bartomeu thinks or wants. You're right about the rules. I am aware of that. However, Tebas did say he will call all the Catalan clubs in the event of a separation. So I suppose they could work something out. |

chukzyfcbb: The LA liga president never mentioned such thing, it was barca president who did. and He must have said that to douse tension.
The last statement from LA liga president was that barca won't remain the league if Catalonia had their independence.
Be careful what you post! Bro, I'm a barca fan through and through. I follow these events as they develop. You may not know about this, but I'd expect that you do some digging rather than challenge my assertions blindly. I am a bit busy now, otherwise I would have looked up some links for you. He did mention it sometime in August or September. |

chemicalDisease: So y have they not gotten open support from other Nations ? Because the issue of separation is not just a problem for Spain. It far transcends Catalonia. The UK for instance, has had to deal with issues of secession from Northern Ireland, Wales, and now Scotland. Germany has her own with Bavaria. France has some struggles with Corsica and Brittany, while Flanders and Wallonia are threatening to pull Belgium apart. Italy nkor? She's facing or has faced same issues with Sicily, Lombardy, Veneto, and South Tyrol regions. Denmark has the same problems, as does Poland, Romania, Crotia and Czech Republic. The bureaucratic elites are all fighting the same struggles. So they understand where it pinches. Nothing brings two people together like a common struggle. They'd rather collude and deal with Catalonia than side with her. About an hour ago, Donald Tusk announced on twitter that Spain is the EU's only interlocutor. So, which of the parties do you think they'd support? |

Meanwhile, the Spanish Senate has approved article 155 to suspend home rule in Catalonia. The region's autonomy is hereby temporarily suspended. With media and police now fully under Spain's control, it's safe to say that Catalonia has lost the battle.

Zoharariel: More than half of all the Hausa/Fulanis in the Nigerian Army & other Civil Service were actually promoted & favoured above their counterparts based on the “quota-system”.
If you apply to the NDA and you do not have an Hausa/Fulani names, even if you excel in the exams, your chances of being enlisted is “zero”. I know this because I've lived in the north for more than 10 years.
This is Y Nigeria is fvcked. You're too ignorant to speak in public! You may have lived in the north, but it is obvious that you know next to nothing about the things you mentioned. The NDA admits equal number of cadets from each state, bar the host state, Kaduna. So, by your logic, who then takes the spots that are allocated to the Southern States? If anything, it is the Southerners who claim northern origins so they could take spots meant for northerners. I've seen it happen countless times before. If you got turned back at the NDA, then it is because you failed! |

GoroTango: Lets not go into Yaradua and Jonathan's matter for now and stick with Dankwanbo. Nigerians do not know who Dankwanbo is, you and I do not know who he is. Have you ever heard the man express his views on any pressing national issue? Even here in the north except for those of us who are politically conscious, very few have even heard of his name. Is this the guy you feel can rally support for his presidential bid from northern Nigeria's complex ethno-religious make up against a more known Buhari? I'm not even going to the south where less than one in ten voters have ever even heard of him before It's all packaging, bro. Popularity does not imply acceptance. Mention Sule Lamido to any neutral and the first thing that comes to mind is "barawo!" Do you believe any right-thinking individual would knowingly vote for a crook? Buhari was repackaged as "mai gaskia" prior to the 2003 elections so he could challenge obj. And while it did take some time, the people finally bought it. Run Dankwambo on the PDP platform, highlight his achievements in Gombe, and watch the people key in. Most people are at a point where all they need is redemption. Promote him as the messiah and see if all of that does not change. Most of today's most renowned leaders emerged from obscurity. |

GoroTango: But like Yaradua and Jonathan untested on the national scene and hence likely to be a disaster I believe Yar'adua did quite alright during his stint as president. Goodluck did implement some excellent policies. Take away corruption and the lackadaisical attitude with which he handled certain issues, I think he was decent. For all his experience at the national level, look how unconvincing Buhari has been. Besides, Dankwambo's period in office as the AGF did afford him some much needed experience. At least, he does understand the workings of government at the federal level. Not to mention he's open-minded. If we went by experience alone, we'd always end up with the exact same results as before. |

Hehe
Dankwambo is a much better alternative. He's sound, street smart, religiously tolerant, understanding, and a minority who has had an experience of what it feels like to be disadvantaged.
Dankwambo is a bridge builder and Nigerian who preaches unity and equity. In many ways, he's everything Nigerians desire in a leader. |

naijalodge: Chilean's loss actually qualified them, wether draw or 10:0...so stop d hype, after all, Ecuador had already been eliminated and they had nothing to play for, and they were wiped by almost every team in d group...take it or leave it, Argentina was terrible in the whole of the qualifiers, if they had met either Brazil, Colombia, Peru or Chile in their decisive game, they wouldn't av qualified. It's funny seeing you try to detract from such a magnificent performance on a night when everything was at stake. Had Chile won in Brazil, Argentina would have placed fourth, which still qualifies them automatically. |

All names, no result. I believe they'll blend well with time. Especially if you consider the fact that it's still early days at the helm for Sampaoli. He just needs to sort the midfield and defence, and they are set for the competition. |

seunmsg: He got what right? Odumakin is the most inconsistent cashtivist that I can think of in Nigeria right now. In 2007 when he was still cool with Tinubu, he supported Atiku Abubakar of AC for president. In 2011 when he was on Bubari's payroll, he supported the Buhari/Bakare CPC ticket. When Jonathan gave him goodies through CONFAB and huge oil dollars stolen from our Commonwealth, he supported Jonathan in 2015.
Odunmakin is just a political hustler who lacks principles and forthrightness. In addition, he's also a loser. He has never supported a presidential candidate that ended up winning the election. I will never seek his endorsement if I ever decide to run for president. Political rat like him should not be calling others inconsistent. Lol. Well said! |

victorDanladi: Lagos is now officially largest city in Africa in term of population. It used to be cairo followed by lagos. Well, perhaps both you and the OP are not the most articulate on here. But you must understand that, when largeness is mentioned in respect to a place, it is usually taken to mean as regards land area. Since it concerns population, he should have said the "most populous," and not the largest. That's why most people are contesting it. |
