Empiree: Allah is God for short. Allah is God of heavens and earth. No one shares in His dominion. He is The First and the Last. He is the Creator of all that exist. Different people from different background can call him any Names - so long as the Names are not contaminated.

You see, your last summary shows that you stalled and you are at crossroad. It is clear that Christians have no idea who Jesus really was. I just have to commend you for your time and effort. You gave your best shot. Thanks for your time. Empiree: And in the verse you quoted and your explanation, where does it say Jesus is God?. Thats all i want to hear. Muslims have no problem Jesus is messiah. Quran also says he is messiah.
Messiah by definition means:
1. the promised and expected deliverer of the Jewish people.
2.Jesus Christ, regarded by Christians as fulfilling this promise and expectation. John 4:25, 26.
3.(usually lowercase) any expected deliverer.
4.(usually lowercase) a zealous leader of some cause or project.
1. the promised deliverer of the Jewish nation prophesied in the Hebrew Bible.
2. a leader or savior of a particular group or cause.
Malvis, let me ask you this. It seems you are hiding your creed or it seems you do not believe Jesus is God, you do not believe in "trinity". Yes or No? do you know the meaning of ancient of days ? in john 17:5 say the glory I had with you BEFORE the world began. Do you know what all this is about ? Can all this be attributed to a mere man ? NO prophet were ever address like this, the jews understand their doctrine very much, infact their declaration of faith begin, "HERE O isreal the LORD our GOD is ONE God". Yet this same title was given to jesus. Consider this. Verse. In zachariah 12. Verse one it was GOD speaking, and here what verse 10 say: Zechariah 12:10 10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit[a] of grace and supplication. THEY WILL LOOK ON [b] ME, THE ONE THEY HAVE PIERCED , and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. see John 19:37 and Rev. 1:7. Don't worry, I will soon open a thread about trinity. |

malvisguy212: In the middle of the confusion of the war on terrorism is the question of the nature of the religion of Islam. Some say that it is a peaceful religion at its heart, that only the fringe extremists are bent on war.
One side claims that "jihad" means a personal struggle against evil in one's behavior. Others claim that it means conquest of the part of the world that is not Muslim, by whatever means necessary, including acts of terror.
Both sides refer to specific passages in the Koran for support. For the soul winner, these are not the important issues. Bible believers are asking, "How can we reach Muslims with the gospel which will solve their struggle against evil?"
One way involves God's love. The biblical concept of God loving the sinner, is FOREIGN TO MUSLIM THINKING. To them, Allah is "compassionate" and "merciful," BUT only to those who obey him.
Their relationship to Allah is not as father and son but more as MASTER AND SLAVE. Allah is not pictured in the quran as a loving Creator, longing for an intimate relationship with man.
Biblical concepts found in John 3:16, 1 John 4:6-10 ("God is love" and in the Lord's prayer where we address God as "Our Father" are nowhere found in Muslim thinking. Muslims memorize the "99 beautiful names of Allah,"BUT "love" or "loving" is no where in that list.
"The love of God is the chief attribute of the biblical God as revealed in such places as John 3:16.God has feelings for his creatures, especially man"
But when we turn to the Quran, we do not find love presented as the chief attribute of Allah. Instead, the transcendence of Allah is his chief attribute.
"Neither does Allah 'have feelings' toward man. That concept is foreign to Islamic teaching. That would reduce Allah to being a mere man -which again is blasphemous to a Muslim."
"The greatest difference between the two faiths is the personal quality of God," writes Emir and Ergun Caner in Unveiling Islam. "ONE MUST LOVE Allah IN ORDER FOR Allah TO LOVE THAT PERSON IN RETURN .In Christianity, God loved people first in order to secure their salvation"
The story that Jesus told of the prodigal son illustrates a side of God that is foreign to the followers of Allah. The Quran states flatly that "Allah loves NOT those who reject Faith"(surah 3:32). "The Muslim can be totally sure that Allah will never restore a believer who has rejected the faith of Islam," we must show the Muslim that Allah offers "no love, no sure forgiveness of sins and only empty dreams of a false paradise."
Only Jesus, the God of the Bible, loved us while were yet sinners, offering sure forgiveness, and eternal life with a loving heavenly Father. |

malvisguy212: Jesus is a very important figure in Islam. Muslims believe, Jesus is just a prophet, He was merely a prophet, a prophet whose second coming will bring about Allah’s judgement on the human race.
In the fourth book of the Quran, al-Nisa (or “The Women”), we are told that Jesus never died on the cross. Instead, Allah is a gifted trickster. Behold:
Quran 4:157 And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him;but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Quran 4:158 Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
No reason were given why Jesus was snatch from death. Allah couldn’t wait a few more days for Jesus to be executed. He needed Jesus in heaven right away. But he also needed Jesus to be executed. The solution? Snatch Jesus from earth right now and pick someone else to wear Jesus’ face long enough to fool the executioners and the Jews.
In completing this absurd trick, Allah must’ve known the following:
The crucifixion of Jesus would be used to create Christianity, the largest religion the world has ever known–a rival religion, mind you. So it was all a ruse to trick people into following the LARGEST religion. Unfortunately for these cursed Christian souls, Allah waited another 600 years before bothering to mention that the Divine Jesus myth in the bible was all a lie.
Those who died Prior to the coming of muhammed to clear this out , who's gonna take the blame for their unbelief ? Allah for tricking the Jews or satan ? |

vzkpswaqnkhgytd: (2:106) For whatever verse We might abrogate or consign to oblivion, We bring a better one or the like of it. Are you not aware that Allah is All-Powerful?
This is in response to a doubt which the Jews tried to implant in the minds of the Muslims. If both the earlier Scriptures and the Qur'an were revelations from God, why was it - they asked - that the injunctions found in the earlier Scriptures had been replaced by new ones in the Qur'an? How could the same God issue divergent injunctions?
Furthermore, they expressed their amazement at the Qur'anic indictment of the Jews and Christians for having allowed part of the revelation to be forgotten and lost, pointing out that it was impossible that Divine revelation should be erased from human memory. In all this, their motive was not to know the truth but to cast doubt on the Divine origin of the Qur'an.
In refutation God states that He being the Absolute Sovereign has unlimited authority both to abrogate previous injunctions and to cause people to forget the injunctions He wants them to forget. However, God ensures that whatever He abrogates or causes to be erased from people's memories is replaced by something equally or even more beneficial. so what you are saying here, the jews force allah to change his word ? If abrogation is in the nature of God, we would've find it in the bible. |

malvisguy212: The Greek term for "firstborn" is prototokos. Firstborn of all creation does NOT mean christ was "born first" or created first, NO it refer to christ POSITION of SUPREMACY by virtue of the fact that He is the Creator of all things and everything came through Him , see verse 16. The word "firstborn" in Colossians 1:15 refers to positional priority not temporal priority. For example In Psalm 89:27 King David is placed as FIRSTBORN,but David was actually the last-born son of Jesse. Isreal is call "FIRSTBORN" but Israel was not the first nation that God brought into existence, but POSITIONALLY as God's chosen and privileged nation Israel was supreme.
The simply conclusion in colossian 1 was, the word firstborn was NOT use to described chronological oder of event. It was use to express Christ's priority as the CREATOR because all OTHER created being came through HIM as verse 16 say and I quote:
" FOR IN HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED : things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created THROUGH HIM and for him. "
There is a Greek word which means FIRST CREATED (protoktistos) but Paul did not use this word of Christ. |

@Empiree. Their was NEVER a time jesus became God, but their was a time He became man, john 1:1 say "the word WAS GOD". Notice, the verse did not say the word was a god, NO. In isaiah 6:5, isaiah say ""for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD (JEHOVAH) of hosts." The Apostle John referred to this same event in John 12:41, and he made it very clear that the Person whom Isaiah saw was actually Jesus Christ: "These things said Isaiah, when he saw HIS GLORY AND SPAKE OF HIM. Even muhammed do not understand the nature of God, in the quran, muhammed thought the christian doctrine of trinity include mary, he even include ezra. If muhammed do not properly understand this thing, why will he criticise it ?
If Mary can beget a son without the sexual involvement of a husband, why cannot the Almighty God produce a son without the sexual association of a wife ?.
Surah 6:101: “To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: How can He have a son when He hath no consort?” (Yusuf Ali)
The above quranic. Verse say God cannot have a son without a consort, YET mary conceive without a consort.
And surprising the quran admit, God can actually have a son:
Surah 39:4: “If Allah had willed to choose a son, He could have chosen what He would of that which He hath created.” |

I want you to consider this verse: Romans 11:5-6 5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. 6 And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace. Grace is the unmarited favor from God, right ? A free gift from God. Grace and work are two principle that opposed to each other. If you have grace then you cannot have work, right ? Okay! If you have a free gift, then it cannot be earned or paid for. If you work for something and earn it, then it cannot be a free gift. If it is a debt, then it cannot be grace. If it is a reward, then it cannot be grace. Salvation is either all of grace or else it is all of works. And the BIBLE INSISTS that it is ALL OF GRACE , "NOT of works"( eph 2:8-9) you cannot work for something that is a GIFT. |

Atheists will always find excuse to disbelief because their mind is sealed. The work of the holy spirit is to convict sinner, failing to allow the spirit to convict you of your sin imply "the unforgiven sin" the context in which christ talk about the unforgiven sin, if you read the whole chapter, you will understand the context and what lead to the statement. Jesus cast out demon from a man, YET the teachers of the law find excuse to disbelief in jesus miracle, they say "he cast out demon with the help of demon" that was their excuse, TELL me, how can demon cast out demon ? The reason they look for excuse to disbelief in jesus is because , they DISCONECT themselves from the spirit of truth, they holy spirit cannot convict such people, hence they are doom. This people cannot be forgiven because they HIDE their sin.
Isaiah 6:8-12 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” 9 He said, “Go and tell this people: “‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’ 10 Make the heart of this people CALLOUSED ; make their ears DULL and close their eyes.[ a] Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” 11 Then I said, “For how long, Lord?” And he answered: “Until the cities lie ruined and without inhabitant, until the houses are left deserted and the fields ruined and ravaged, 12 until the Lord has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken. |

Ioannes: ...and James 2:14-26? james audience is the save, james is addressing the save. (James understood work as the RESULT OF SALVATION: a person does good works because he is saved) James wrote how a beliver can show, his faith is genuine, in other word, a beliver can show how is faith is real. In fact here what james 2:18 said: 18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will SHOW you my faith BY MY DEEDS. Notice here, james did not say , I will show you my faith WITH my deeds, NO, he say BY my deed. James was referring to those good works that a saved person performs which gives evidence of a real, living, saving faith. Paul talk about the good work the unsaved tries to do in other to win God favor and earn his place in heaven. In Romans 4:5 we are given an example of a person who is justified freely by God’s grace "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Notice that he is the person THAT DOES NOT WORK! He does not work at all! He is not trusting or counting on anything that he has done. He realizes that there is not one thing that he has ever done that could earn one drop of favor or approval or acceptance before a holy God! |

Ioannes: you conveniently ignored the part that said WORK out your salvation. why WORK out something that is already assured and you can't lose when you read that working out part with the rest of the sentence, then you see that the translation of humility you are trying to impose on fear and trembling is not justified.
what does Paul mean to Work out our salvation
Oh and btw, as a corroboration of my point, why did James say in the book of James chapter 2 vs 14-26 that "Faith without good works is dead" that is why my first post say work is the evidence of faith. If you read the op very well, you will not ask such question, when jesus say it is FINISH, the work of our salvation is done, if we add anything untop this work of salvation, then it is not GRACE anymore, paul wrote that salvation is “by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing;it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Eph 2:8-9). If it is of works then it is not grace for grace is given freely and cannot be earned. we are not saved by works but we were “created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” (Eph 2:10). We are saved for works not by works. |

Ioannes: I'm sorry but that isn't the answer to my poser.
why did Paul say "...WORK out your salvation in FEAR and TREMBLING"?
I hope you know the meaning of "to work out something".
and why in FEAR AND TREMBLING if it's just a proof of something that is already there. okay. The Greek word translated "fear" in this context can equally mean "reverence" or "respect." In 1 corinthians 2:3, paul came to the corinthians in fear and trembling, he was afraid: 1 Corinthians 2:3 3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, But instead, it was the corinthians who gave him an encouraging reception, that is, with great humility and respect for his position as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ; 2 Corinthians 7:15 15 And his affection for you is even greater, as he remembers the obedience of you all, how you received him with fear and trembling. So what Philippians 2:12 is saying is that we should receive the work of salvation in great respect and humility, in fact here what david say in psalm: Psalm 2:11 11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. If fear, why rejoice ? The fear imply humility and great respect. |
