Scholar8200: The emphasis here is that the man in question had already resigned to fate and was not anticipating the coming of a son through Sarah. What makes this a miracle is that 1. GOD promised it and Abraham believed that promise; 2. Apart from that, Sarah was not only very old but as barren as a brick! . (that's why at 75, Abraham had Ishmael through Hagar).
Like I said, there was demonstrable basis for Abraham's faith in God. Considering his reaction when he had to dismiss Ishmael, you can tell that he was a real father who loved his kids. However, the second passage I quoted showed that Abraham knew even if he killed Isaac, it would not be the end; a rather foolhardy effort not different from expecting a child from a barren, dead womb! Good job bro, I did not see this thread, you have really answer this heathen. Sarah was old and barren yet this heathen say it was not a miracle. |

lexiconkabir: fixed! allah promise to preserve the " Remembrance" in Surah 15, Verse 9. And one many occasion the quran. Adress the gospel and torah as the remembrance: Surah 15:2-9 Often will those who disbelieve wish that they had been Muslims. Leave them that they may eat and enjoy themselves and (that) hope may beguile them, for they will soon know. And never did We destroy a town but it had a term made known. No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). And they say: O YOU TO WHOM THE REMINDER HAS BEEN REVEALED! you are most surely insane: Why do you not bring to us the angels if you are of the truthful ones? We do not send the angels but with truth, and then they would not be respited. Surely We have revealed the Reminder and We will most surely be its guardian. Allah promise here is not only for the quran, but for ALL books; And they say: O YOU whom the Reminder has been revealed! you are most surely insane.... Lo! We, even We, reveal THE Reminder, and lo! We verily are ITS GUARDIAN. We VERILY SENT (MESSENGERS) BEFOR THEE (arsalna min qablika) among the factions of the men of old. And never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him. The verses which immediately follow afterwards provide further proof that Reminder here is referring to more than just the Quran. The truth is that allah not only promise to guide the quran only but he promise to guide the books of previous messengers "SENT BEFORE THEE" . Surah 21:24 Or have they taken for worship (other) aliha (gods) besides Him? Say: "Bring your proof:" This (the Qur'an) is the Reminder for those with me AND THE Reminder (wa thikru) for those BEFORE ME. But most of them know not the Truth, so they are averse. Here, the quran author identified the book (quran) and the other books BEFORE ME as the REMINDER. Allah promise to guide the reminder including the torah and gospel. If you insist, give me reason why Allah allow the previous book to be corrupted ? Quranic verse will be appriciated. |

When the rumour of the Prophet's martyrdom spread during the battle, it disheartened most of the Companions. The hypocrites who were in the Muslim camp began to advise the believers to approach 'Abd Allah b. Ubayy so that he might secure protection for them from Abu Sufyan. Some went so far as to say that had Muhammad really been the Messenger of God he would not have been put to death, and for that reason they counselled people to revert to their ancestral faith. It is in this context that the Muslims are now told that if their devotion to the truth is wholly bound up with the person of Muhammad (peace be on him), and if their submission to God is so lukewarm that his demise would cause them to plunge back into the disbelief they had cast off, then they should bear in mind the fact that Islam does not need them. nonsense, the verse is clearly understood, Allah do not know how muhammed will die. lexiconkabir: girl! i am quite happy you couldnt disprove the fact that john5:7 was never part of the bible, masha Allah , i'll keep striking all your hearts with Al-Haqq(the truth)! there is no sure evidence of this reading in any Greek manuscript until the 1500s ; each such reading was apparently composed after Erasmus’ Greek NT was published in 1516. Indeed, the reading appears in no Greek witness of any kind (either manuscript, patristic, or Greek translation of some other version) until AD 1215 (in a Greek translation of the Acts of the Lateran Council, a work originally written in Latin) . This is all the more significant, since many a Greek Father would have loved such a reading, for it so succinctly affirms the doctrine of the Trinity. 2 The reading seems to have arisen in a fourth century Latin homily in which the text was allegorized to refer to members of the Trinity. From there, it made its way into copies of the Latin Vulgate, the text used by the Roman Catholic Church. In reality, the issue is history, not heresy: How can one argue that the Comma Johanneum must go back to the original text when it did not appear until the 16th century in any Greek manuscripts? Such a stance does not do justice to the gospel: faith must be rooted in history. To argue that the Comma must be authentic is Bultmannian in its method, for it ignores history at every level. As such, it has very little to do with biblical Christianity, for a biblical faith is one that is rooted in history. https://bible.org/article/textual-problem-1-john-57-8 |

malvisguy212: The Qur’an claims to be the eternal Revelation of God. If true, how can an eternal Book of Allah have such time- bound revelations in it? The Qur’an itself admits that some of its verses were abrogated and replaced by others verses.
To abrogate means to abolish, annul, rescind, repeal or revoke. The Qur’an is the only religious book that abrogates its own teachings. The concept of abrogation in the Qur’an is that Allah reveals a verse in the Qur’an that invalidates an earlier verse in the same Qur’an. This may lead to numerous difficulties for the readers of the Qur’an. In fact, it raises many questions. For example:
1. How can a Muslim know what is abrogated and what is not? 2. Since the abrogated verses still exist in the Qur’an, what is the use of these abrogated verses for Muslims now? 3. Would not this pose a problem for the ordinary readers of the Qur’an to verify what is abrogated and what is not? 4. How would an average Muslim know what is abrogated and what is not, when even scholar disagree among themselves as to the numbers of verses that are abrogated?
However, if the Qur’an is the genuine Word of God, then the commandments written in it must by no means be abrogated. Its contents must remain intact and its messages unchanged. And amazingly Allah agrees:
Surah 6:115: “The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient.” (Khalifa) In other word, nothing can change is word. However, note the contradiction in Surah 2:106:
“Whatever verse we shall abrogate, or cause (thee) to forget, we will bring a better one than it, or one like unto it. Dost thou not know that God is almighty?” (Sale)
The concept of “abrogation” in the Qur’an is that Allah reveals a latter verse that both supersedes and annuls an earlier verse in the same Qur’an. Abrogation means to annul or cancel something with appropriate or legal authority. In this case, the authority is none other than Allah himself. Surah 2:106 is central to the doctrine of abrogation that is taught in Islam. Why does an all-wise God need to reveal “better” or “similar” verses to replace verses that he had inspired only a few years or even days earlier? Surah 2:106 is clearly making the claim that Allah will change and cause the older verses to be forgotten by revealing better verses or verses similar in kind. To emphasize the point, Allah states that he has power over all things.
The quran is disorderly chronological arrange One example of the disorderly chronology is that Surahs 2:193, 2:216 and 2:217 were revealed at the beginning of Muhammad’s arrival in Medina. And it took another six years to reveal Surahs 2:190, 2:191 and 2:192. Yet Surah 2:193 (which was revealed six years earlier) was inserted to follow Surah 2:192. How could it then be known which contradicting verses were the more authoritative? Without context and chronology, the “abrogated” and “abrogator” verses render the entire Qur’an irrelevant. For example, if one verse encourages slavery and another condemns it, which is to be believed and followed? Truly there is a lot of questions we need to ask, the quran is not the word of God. |

malvisguy212: Sahih Muslim Book 13: 4016Ibn Abbas reported: When Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) was about to leave this world, there were persons (around him) in his house, ‘Umar b. al-Kbattab being one of them. Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Come, I MAY WRITE FOR YOU A DOCUMENTS ; YOU WOULD NOT GO ASTRAY AFTER THAT. Thereupon Umar said: Verily Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) is deeply afflicted with pain. You have the Qur’an with you. The Book of Allah is sufficient for us. Those who were present in the house differed. Some of them said: Bring him (the writing material) so that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) may write a document for you and you would NEVER GO ASTRAY after him And some among them said what ‘Umar had (already) said. When they indulged in nonsense and began to dispute in the presence of Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him), he said: Get up (and go away) ‘Ubaidullah said: Ibn Abbas used to say: THERE WAS A HEAVY LOSS, INDEED A HEAVY LOSS, that, due to their dispute and noise. Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) COULD NOT WRITE (OR DICTATE) THE DOCUMENTS FOR THEM.
These Hadiths state one thing clearly, which is that Mohammed died with a revelation which he wanted to speak out but could not/did not. He wanted to give the Muslims something of importance which will keep them on the right path. But he could not write it because of the commotion around him. This revelation remains unspoken and unwritten and went to the grave with Mohammed. What does this say about the Quran? a |

nasiayam: Trash post. Preaching hate -1 you give non radicalized Christians a bad name Surah 3:144: Muhammad is no more than a Messenger, and indeed many Messengers have passed away before him. IF HE DIES OR KILLED, will you then turn back on your heels as disbelievers? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah, and Allah will give reward to those who are grateful (Hilali-Khan) Muhammad was not only Allah’s greatest prophet but he was also his final and favorite prophet. Yet, Allah was uncertain about the manner of Muhammad’s death. The phrase, “If he dies or is killed” in Arabic is “Fa-in mata awo kutila.” This verse demonstrates that Allah did not know whether Muhammad will die a natural death (Mata) or be killed by someone (Kutila). Thus, Allah was unable to affirm the exact manner of Muhammad’s death. That is why there is not a single prophecy in the Qur’an that details the manner of Muhammad’s death. The Holy Bible provides a warning regarding those who prophesy falsely: Deuteronomy 18:20-22: “However, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. And in case you should say in your heart: ‘How shall we know the word that the true God has not spoken?’ When the prophet speaks in the name of God and if the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that the true God has not spoken. With presumptuousness the prophet has spoken it. You must not be afraid of him.” This means that if the prophecies of Allah did not come true as predicted, they should be rejected as not coming from the true God. Therefore, the true God cannot the source of the failed prophecies in the Qur’an. |
