lexiconkabir: ever heard of ROYAL WE? probably yes, but because of hate u will pretend you dont know, if you havent heard of royal we then your english teacher in ss2 should be questioned. Surah.6:114 Shall I seek other than Allah for judge, when HE it is Who hath revealed unto you (this) Scripture, fully explained? Those unto whom WE gave the Scripture (aforetime) know that it is revealed from thy Lord in truth . So be not thou (O Muhammad) of the waverers. Pickthall The speaker here, whom we are supposed to believe is Allah, says that he will not seek a judge other than Allah and also uses singular and plural pronouns interchangeably. the royal plural doesn’t at all help the Muslim cause since it actually implies that Allah was addressing his royal court, his heavenly council. The online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, writes in regard to the purpose and function of the royal plural: Pluralis majestatis ("majestic plural" is the plural pronoun where it is used to refer to one person alone. This is also known as the " royal we" or the "Victorian we" because it has usually been restricted to august personages such as monarchs, bishops, Popes, and university rectors. The reason behind the pluralis majestatis is the idea that a monarch or other high official ALWAYS SPEAKS FOR HIS OR HER PEOPLE. Examples of purported instances: We are not amused. Queen Victoria (in at least one account of this quotation, though, she was not speaking for herself alone, BUT FOR THE LADIES OF THE COURT.) We are a grandmother. Margaret Thatcher announcing the birth of Mark Thatcher’s son Michael in 1990. It is to be distinguished from pluralis modestiae, also pluralis auctoris (inclusion of readers or listeners). For instance: Let's calculate! Leibniz We are thus led also to a definition of "time" in physics. Albert Einstein It was said that United States Navy Admiral Hyman G. Rickover told a subordinate that used the royal we: "Three groups are permitted that usage: pregnant women, royalty, and schizophrenics. Which one are you?" There is no such thing as the "Papal we". The pope may use the "Royal we". http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pluralis_Majestatis |

The manuscript are said to have been kept with a collection of other Middle Eastern books and documents and remained unrecognised in the university library for almost a century. For many years, they had been misbound with leaves of a similar Koran manuscript, which is datable to the late seventh century. But when a PhD researcher studied the two parchment leaves, she concluded that they should be properly examined. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/religion/11754962/Oldest-fragments-of-the-Koran-found-in-Birmingham-library.html

The earliest complete Koran manuscript in
existence in museums today are hundreds of
years after Muhammad died:
The Muslim false claim:
"In other words: two of the copies of the Qur'an
which were originally prepared in the time of
Caliph `Uthman, are still available to us today
and their texts and arrangement can be
compared, by anyone who cares to, with any
other copy of the Qur'an, be it in print or
handwriting, from any place or period of time.
They will be found to be identical." (Von
Denffer, Ulum al-Qur'an, p 64)
The truth:
Although Muslims proclaim they have a Koran
that dates to the time of Muhammad, the Reality
is different.
Two ancient partial copies of Koran that are in
existence are the Samarqand MSS is in
Tashkent, and the MSS housed in the Topkapi
Museum in Istanbul. What many Muslim's do
not know, is that because these two manuscripts
were written in a script style called "Kufic",
practicing Muslim scholars generally date these
manuscripts no earlier than 200 years after
Muhammad died. Had these two manuscripts
been compiled any earlier, they would have
been written in either the Ma'il or Mashq script
style. John Gilchrist, in his book, "Jam' Al-
Qur'an" came to this same conclusion. (John
Gilchrist, Jam' Al-Qur'an, Jesus to the Muslims,
1989)
Further, only one-third of the original
Samarkand MSS in Tashkent survives. There are
about 250 pages written in a bold Arabic script
on deerskin. It is written in "Hejaz" in Saudi
Arabia, so the script is Hejazi, (Kufic script).
Now we do have one ancient copy of the Koran
written in the Ma'il style of script, that is housed
in the British Museum in London (Lings &
Safadi 1976:17,20; Gilchrist 1989:16,144). But
scholar Martin Lings, who was not only a
practicing Muslim, but also a former curator for
the manuscripts of the British Museum, dates
this manuscript at 790 AD, making it the
earliest. On the other hand Yasir Qadhi notes
one Islamic Masters/PhD scholar who believes
the Samarqand MSS is the 'most likely
candidate for the original'.
It is unknown, even by Muslims that authorities
will not release photographs of the ancient
Topkapi manuscript in Istanbul and so there are
no known studies on it. This is why the Muslim
apologist, M. Saifullah had to state "Concerning
the Topkapi manuscript we are not aware of
studies done it." (Who's Afraid Of Textual
Criticism?, M. S. M. Saifullah, 'Abd ar-Rahman
Squires & Muhammad Ghoniem) What is in this
manuscript that Muslims are afraid to let the
world see? After all in Qur'an 2:111 it says
"Produce your proof if you are truthful."
Even the earliest fragmentary manuscripts of
the Koran are all dated no earlier than 100 years
after Muhammad died.
Add to this the fact that there is no
archeological evidence dated at the time when
Muhammad was alive, by way of artifact,
manuscript or inscription has ever been found
were Muhammad is actually referred to as "a
prophet".
If you don't believe me, listen to faithful
Muslim, Ahmad Von Denffer, in his book, Ulum
al Quran, in a chapter called, Old Manuscripts
Of The Qur'an, "Most of the early original
Qur'an manuscripts, complete or in sizeable
fragments, that are still available to us now, are
not earlier than the second century after the
Hijra. [or 800 AD] The earliest copy, which was
exhibited in the British Museum during the
1976 World of Islam Festival, dated from the
late second century.' However, there are also a
number of odd fragments of Qur'anic papyri
available, which date from the first
century." (Grohmann, A.: Die Entstehung des

Christianity Etc › Re: All Religions Lead To God? Can One Discern The True Religion? by malvisguy212(op): 10:55pm On Jul 27, 2015 |
malvisguy212: Agnostics often fall into two camps - those who believe that all religions can lead to God or those who believe that true religion cannot be discerned. This page examines both positions in an attempt to determine where the truth may lie. Logically, there are several possibilities. Atheists would say that no religion leads to God, since He doesn't exist. It is possible that one, several or all religions lead to God.
ALL WAYS LEAD TO GOD: There are hundreds of religions in the world today, and many ancient religions that are no longer practiced. It is possible, and perhaps likely, that all religions contain some truth and/or good moral advice. However, in examining religious teaching, it is important to examine the fundamental beliefs of each religion and compare those to each other. When this is done, it is apparent that primary religious teachings contradict each other. Judaism says that the Messiah is coming, Christianity says that He has come, and Islam says that Mohammad provided all the information necessary for religious life. Obviously, these truth claims cannot be simultaneously true, since they contradict each other. Logically, we must reject the idea that all religions lead to God.
TRUE RELIGEON:IS IT POSSIBLE TO DISCERN? I believe that there are some things that we can discern about God from the nature of the universe. The universe demonstrates some remarkable evidence of design. What kind of God designed all this, and how can we know His true identity? Most people who believe God exists would agree with the argument that the God who designed the universe must be a personal God. For God to put so much time and care into the design of the universe and life, it would seem logical to conclude that God really cared about His creation, and was personally involved in it's creation. A God who did not care about his creation would never be expected to spend 14 billion years of development just so that humans would have a nice place to live for a few thousand years. Therefore, it would seem likely that the true God must be a personal God, and not the God of deism, pantheism, Buddhism, etc. So, it would seem that these religions probably do not represent the true nature of God. ELIMINATE THE ILLOGICAL: The powerful and personal Creator God of the universe would probably want to reveal Himself to His spiritual creatures. So, it seems likely that God would have revealed His true nature to one or more of the peoples of the earth. Are all the revelations of the world religions a reflection of God or just certain one(s)? This is the difficult question that cannot be answered in merely one short page. However, I believe one can come up with a best answer through much study and through the process of elimination. For example, some religions make truth claims that are obviously false. The LDS church (Mormons) claims that gods are created through procreation and that creatures created by those gods can eventually become gods themselves. However, this religion suffers from the problem of how the first god came into existence. Logic would dictate that God is eternal and uncreated. All religions that claim otherwise would seem to be logically flawed. BASIC RELIGEON CLAIM: Since many religious claims contradict one another, it would seem that not all religions could be simultaneously true. How can we tell which religion(s) are true? If you examine the world religions, most describe ethical and moral laws that are ascribed to God. Breaking of those laws is an offense to God. How do different religions handle that problem? Many religions say that if one tries to obey God's laws most of the time, God will accept you. However, I believe that we can eliminate that idea as being true of the Creator God of the universe. God designed physical laws of the universe. These laws are constant and unbreakable. God Himself, seems to break those physical laws only rarely. I propose that this God would not accept the breaking of His moral laws so easily. In fact, from the nature of the physical laws, it would seem that God would not accept the breaking of His moral laws at all. Nearly all religions claim that God will ignore our breaking of His moral laws as long as we try our best. This is where Christianity differs from all other world religions. Christianity says that our good works cannot erase our bad moral choices. Think of it in terms of our legal systems. We are convicted of crimes on the basis of breaking the law. If we break a law, we are found guilty under the law. It doesn't matter what good things we have done in our lives, if we break the law. We might get a lesser sentence, but we will still be convicted of a crime. So, God cannot simply ignore our crimes against Him. We will be found guilty, despite our good works. Christianity says that our bad deeds (sins) must be eliminated in order to be acceptable to God. The elimination of sins was accomplished by the sacrifice of the Savior (Jesus Christ). Jesus Christ is God Himself, who came to earth, led a sinless life, and died on the cross as a sacrifice to take the sins of mankind. So, God Himself provided a means of eliminating our sins against Him. However, the elimination of sins is not automatic. Since God will allow people into His presence after death, they must agree to His terms. This contract is executed through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to eliminate our sins. By accepting God's terms, our sins are erased and we can stand in the presence of God without any sin. Only our good deeds will be counted for our judgment. Those who don't accept God's terms will be judged on the basis of God's laws - and will be found guilty. CHRISTIANITY IS DIFFERENT : No other religion provides a provision for God's forgiveness of sin, which is why I believe Christianity to be the only true way to God. Jesus said He is the only way to God and that all people must follow Him to enter heaven. All other religions are man's attempt to become acceptable to God. Only Christianity says that God alone provides the only means to be acceptable to Him. So, either Christianity is true and all other religions are false or Christianity is false and God does not hold people accountable for law breaking. Personally, I would not want to rely upon God ignoring His own rules. It doesn't seem to be logical reasoning. This is the choice you must make.
CONCLUSION: So, I encourage you to examine the world religions to see if what I am saying is true. Don't give up on the ability to separate the truth claims of the world's religions. If Christianity is true, you must make a choice or you will be judged on the basis of your sins against God. Let me know if you have any questions. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Does God have a multiple personality /Are All Religions Except Mine Wrong? by malvisguy212: 10:54pm On Jul 27, 2015 |
badoosecret: Does God have a multiple personality disorder?
At last count, there were . . . well . . . I won’t even try to count all the different religions in the world! Besides the large, well-known world religions such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism, there are countless smaller religions, including many varieties of traditional, cultural, and nature-based religions, throughout the world. There are also a billion or so people who don’t belong to any particular religion, either because they are atheist or agnostic or because they follow their own personal spiritual beliefs.
All of the religions have some concept of God—although some do not talk much about God. However, if we ask adherents of the various religions what God is like, we will get many different descriptions. Within the different religions God has been pictured as a male or female human being, as various kinds of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and insects, as a being with a human body and the head of an animal, as a tree or a plant, as lightning and thunder, as the sun, moon, or stars, and in many other ways.
When we start talking about the different mental and emotional characteristics of God, things get even more interesting. God loves and hates, is wrathful and merciful, is omniscient and forgetful, is unchanging yet relents from punishments that were planned, is all-forgiving but condemns everyone who doesn’t believe or do certain things.
Does God have a multiple personality disorder? How could one God be so many different things all at once? How could God be so many contradictory things at the same time? After all, if we ask people of the various religions how they know what God is like, most them will say that their beliefs originally came from God.
Are all religions except mine wrong?
Okay, there’s another possibility. Maybe all of those religions got it wrong. Or maybe there is one that got it right. The religion I believe in! It may be Christianity or Islam, Hinduism or Buddhism, but if it’s my religion, it must be the right one. Otherwise why would I believe it?
It’s funny, isn’t it? No matter what religion we look at, the people who believe in it think they are the ones who have the real truth about God—and that all the other religions are a little bit off . . . or a lot off.
Of course, there are many religious people who take a broader view. But what about all the people who say that if you don’t believe in my religion, God will condemn you? What about all those Christians who say that you can’t be saved and go to heaven unless you believe in Jesus Christ?
If people in every religion claim that theirs is the right one and everyone else’s is wrong, how can we believe any of them? And why didn’t God make it a lot clearer to us humans on earth exactly what we’re supposed to believe about God and heaven? https://www.nairaland.com/1999485/all-religions-lead-god-one |

The last man to see Jesus as far as I am aware of was the apostle John, years after Jesus' ascension back into heaven. In highly symbolic language (the type of language in which the book of Revelation is written) John describes what he saw when Jesus appeared to him and commanded that he record what is now the final book in the Bible. Keeping in mind the figurative nature of the words, as John, inspired by the Holy Spirit, writes concerning what he saw that day, note especially his description of Jesus, the same Jesus who had walked and talked with John on earth, but is now glorified. The Vision on the Island of Patmos "And I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands; and in the middle of the lampstands one like the Son of Man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His breast with a golden girdle. And His head and His hair were white like wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire; and His feet were like burnished bronze, when it had been caused to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters. And in His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as a dead man. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying, 'Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades." malvisguy212: THE QURAN GIVES AUTHORITY OF THE BIBLE: The Qur’an, itself, the highest authority for all Muslims, gives authority to the Bible, assuming its authenticity at least up to the seventh-ninth Centuries. Consider the following Suras:
Surah 2:136 points out that there is no difference between the scriptures which preceded and those of the Qur’an, saying, “ …the revelation given to us…and Jesus…we make no difference between one and another of them .”
Surah 3:2-3 continues, “Allah…He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus)…as a guide to mankind .” Sura h 4:136 carries this farther by admonishing the Muslims to, “ …Believe… and the scripture which He sent before him .” In Surah 5:47,49,50,52 we find a direct call to Christians to believe in their scriptures: “ …We sent Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him. We sent him the Gospel… Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein, if any do fail to judge by the light of what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel…”
Again, in Surah 5:68 we find a similar call: “People of the Book!…Stand fast by the law, the Gospel, and all revelation that hath come to you from YOUR LORD. It is the revelation that has come to thee from THY LORD.” To embolden this idea of the New and Old Testament’s authority we find in Surah 10:94 that Muslims are advised to confer with these scriptures if in doubt about their own, saying: “If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee. The truth had indeed come to thee from thy Lord .” And as if to emphasize this point the advice is repeated in Surah 21:7, stating; “ …the apostles We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration. If ye realize this not, Ask of those who possess the message .”
Finally, in Surah 29:46 Muslims are asked not to question the authority of the scriptures of the Christians, saying;
“And dispute ye not with the people of the book but say: We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and that which came down to you.”
If there is anything in these Suras which is clear,it is that the Quran emphatically endorses the Torah and the Gospel as authentic and authoritative revelations from God. This coincides with what Christians believe, as well. In fact, nowhere is there any warning in the Qur’an that the former scriptures had been corrupted, nor that they were contradictory. If the Qur’an was indeed the final and complete revelation, if it was the seal of all former revelations the Muslims claim, than certainly the author of the Qur’an would have included a warning against that which had been corrupted in the earlier scriptures. But nowhere do we find even a hint that the Bible was contradictory, or indeed that it was corrupted.
WHY WILL A FINAL REVELATION NOT GIVE WARNING OF THE CORRUPTION OF THE FORMER REVELATION? ummsulaym read the above^^^ and provide your defence for the quran. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People? by malvisguy212: 8:32pm On Jul 26, 2015 |
uzygirl: You do not have to look far to see that evil and suffering abound today. Wars kill civilians as well as soldiers. Crime and violence victimize innocent people. Deadly accidents and crippling illnesses occur irrespective of a person’s age or status in life. Natural disasters wipe out communities indiscriminately. Prejudice and injustice are widespread. Perhaps you have personally suffered as a victim.
It is only natural to ask questions like these:
Why do bad things happen to good people? Is God to blame for such things? Are calamities random occurrences, or are they man-made? Could it be Karma, that is, the result of one’s actions in a past life, that causes personal suffering? If there is an almighty God, why does he not protect good people from harm? Will life ever be free of evil and suffering?
To answer those questions, we need to understand the answer to this question: Why do bad things happen at all?
http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/wp20140701/#?insight[search_id]=6d6f06a9-4c14-42f9-8694-a6a4e07d564f&insight[search_result_index]=0 1. All people will suffer at least somewhat because of bad choices that others make. In addition, because of the temporary nature of the universe, some bad things will happen to us due to "bad luck" or chance. However, these things will teach us to be more sensitive to the needs of others, and will prepare us to show God's love to others when they suffer through similar things. God want us to learn from this life, not just have a party. 2.God did not design this universe to be perfect, but as a temporary creation where free will beings make choices about where they want to spend eternity (in the new creation, which will be perfect). Many things that people consider to be bad are, in fact, useful in our spiritual growth. The Bible says that trials in our lives produce perseverance, which helps make us mature and complete. These trials also increase our faith - a "refining by fire." The Bible tells us that "all things to work together for good to those who love God." |

frosbel: There is only one assembly , the rest are scams. Mark 9:38-42 “‘Teacher,’ said John, ‘we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he wasn’t one of us.’ ‘Do not stop him,’Jesus said, ‘No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward. And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck.'” Just as what you are doing, john was casting this men because they preach christ and healed the sick ,but what was the response of Jesus ? Jesus is saying to him, “Wait a minute John, the issue is not whether this man belongs to our group. There are true disciples outside our group.” THE GRACE OF CHRIST WILL KEEP US FROM THE DOMINION OF SIN. |

OlaoChi: One problem here is nobody knows who wrote the revelations book. Some how it just became part of the bible books Revelation 1:1-3 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant JOHN: Who bare RECOED OF THE WORD OF GOD, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that READETH , and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are WRITTEN therein: for the time is at hand. |
