malvisguy212: A teacher is using the "scientific method" to teach the class about evolution... TEACHER: Tommy do you see the tree outside? TOMMY: Yes. TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside? TOMMY: Yes. TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky. TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the sky. TEACHER: Did you see God? TOMMY: No. TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. He doesn't exist. A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The teacher agreed and the little girl questioned the boy. LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the tree outside? TOMMY: Yes. LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside? TOMMY: Yessssss (getting tired of the questions this time). LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky? TOMMY: Yessssss. LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher? TOMMY: Yes LITTLE GIRL: Do you see the teacher's mind? TOMMY: No. LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she must not have one!
The above joke is a good lesson in the problem of trying to prove the existence of God using the scientific tools available to us. A Creator God, if He exists, must, by definition, exist beyond the limits of the universe in order to have created it. The laws of physics tell us that we cannot make measurements beyond the limits of this universe. Therefore, scientists can conclusively determine that we cannot ever detect God using any of our instruments.
However, God is not restricted to our limitations and could choose to reveal part of Himself to us. God could not reveal His entirety to us without causing major problems in our universe. The sudden appearance of dimensions and matter(?) from outside the universe would destroy anything in the vicinity and maybe even destroy the entire universe. This is why the Bible says that nobody can see God and live.
However, God could reveal His nature by communicating with humans and sending an incarnated version of Himself. This is exactly what Christianity claims - that God gave messages to humans (through the prophets) and sent an incarnation of Himself (His Son), who took on the form of a human in order to interact with humans directly. Although you cannot see God directly in this life (but you will see Him in the next) , you can experience Him through your spirit. This is the claim and promise of Christianity that accounts for its popularity. When you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you enter into a relationship with Him through the Holy Spirit. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which you will directly experience when you come to faith, confirms both the existence and the power of God to the believer. It is through this relationship that we can enter into the joy of the Lord and experience the fullness of the Christian life.
If you are not a Christian, you will not believe what I just told you. I know, because when I was an agnostic for 33 years, I did not believe that you could have a relationship with God. Since 1988 I have been experiencing the joy of the fellowship of the Lord and I want the same for you. Don't wait! Get your questions answered and come to faith based upon the facts, and enter into the joy that cannot be found through anything else in this world. Well, its your choice. Do you see your mind? http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/notseegod.html |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Fool Say There Is No God. by malvisguy212(op): 4:58am On Jul 19, 2015 |
malvisguy212: Christians often cite Psalm 14:1 as a rebuke of atheists. However, the Hebrew word translated "fool" doesn't have the same connotations as the English word. The passage actually says that we are all foolish.
Psalm 14:1 is the verse that a lot of Christians like to quote to atheists, believing it is a rebuke of their atheism. However, if we look at the entire passage, we see a different picture:
Psalms 14:1-3: The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. (2) The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. (3) All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
Christians usually only quote the first half of Psalm 14:1, as if it is a slap in the face to atheists. Is this really a verse against atheism?
FOOL'S CHARACTERISTIC. The second half of verse 14:1 says "They are corrupt, their deeds are vile." At first, you might think that the "they" are those who disbelieve in the existence of God. However, the end of verse 14:1 says "there is no one who does good." One might still think that the verse is referring to atheists. However, Psalm 14:2-3 make it clear that as God looks down on all people, He can find none who are not corrupt, emphasizing it with "not even one."
The Hebrew word translated "fool" is nâbâl, which is an adjective having the meaning of "stupid, wicked" or "vile person." It comes from the root verb nâbêl, which means "to fall away," "figuratively to be foolish or (morally) wicked" or "causatively to despise, disgrace: - disgrace, dishonour." So, the Hebrew word nâbâl refers more to bad moral character rather than just being stupid. He is foolish because he thinks God will not notice his bad behavior.
WHO IS THE FOOL? The passage makes it clear that God can find nobody who does good or even tries to understand God's ways. From God's perspective, not one person attains His standard of moral behavior. So, God sees all of us as fools. We all like to compare our behavior to that of others. Example!! When I was still a sinners(atheists)I was morally superior to most Christians. However, I was still not measuring up to God's moral code.
HOW TO MEASURE UP. Unless you think you can lead a perfectly moral life, God has a solution for your problem. God's solution is to allow you to trade your moral imperfection for the moral perfection of Jesus Christ. The trade is accomplished through faith in Jesus' sacrifice as payment for your sins. The offer is really generous, but will cost you your self-righteousness. No, you can't remain an atheist either. As the psalmist says, you must "seek God."
CONCLUSION The fool says there is no God. But, he is not foolish because he is an atheist, but because he thinks he can get away with bad moral behavior. Psalm 14 goes on to say that all people are corrupt and there is not even one who does good. So, God says that we are all immoral fools. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we He can measure up to the moral perfection required by a Holy God. So what the verse is saying is DON'T BE A FOOL AND THINK YOU CAN MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN. |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Shepherd Psalm by malvisguy212(op): 4:56am On Jul 19, 2015 |
malvisguy212: Psalm 23 has six verses. It is especially appreciated by unsaved church people who like to think the Lord is their Shepherd when He's not. Unfortunately, some of the better known portions of Scripture are the portions that deal with anything except salvation. Perhaps the most well known verses of Scripture--or portions--are the Sermon on the Mount, I Corinthians 13,the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, and Psalm 23. Now, the reason why these are favorites is because nothing in one of those passages could tell anybody how to be saved. And all those passages assume the man is either an Old Testament saint or a New Testament saint. So all unsaved people like those portions of Scripture that don't call their sins to their attention.
But since we(born again) are saved, we do know the Lord is our Shepherd, and that He is our personal Shepherd. And I can truthfully say that the Lord is my shepherd individually.
This is the Shepherd Psalm.Psalm 22 deals with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and resurrection. Psalm 23, then, deals with the relationship of the Lord Jesus Christ to the individual saint after the resurrection. And Psalm 24 plainly speaks of the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Psalms are laid out in prophetic order: Psalm 22, the crucifixion; Psalm 23, a picture of the Church Age; and Psalm 24, a picture of the Second Advent.
Psalm 23 has a beautiful outline: In verse 1 we have a happy life. In verse 4 we have a happy death. And in verse 6 we have a happy eternity. In the great Psalm, Psalm 23, we find the Lord is with me, He is beneath me, He is before me, He is around me, He is after me, and He is ahead of me. Psalm 23 is David historically speaking about his relationship with the Lord, and pictures the relationship of the Christian who's got into the right fold.
The Lord is my shepherd" Notice the personal wording. The Lord is not our shepherd. The Lord is my shepherd. There's a big difference when you get to know the Shepherd. "The Lord is my shepherd.
The Lord is my Shepherd: That's Relationship! I shall not want: That's Supply! He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: That's Rest! He leadeth me beside the still waters: That's Refreshment! He restoreth my soul: That's Healing! He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness: That's Guidance! For His name sake: That's Purpose! Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death: That's Testing! I will fear no evil: That's Protection! For Thou art with me: That's Faithfulness! Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me: That's Discipline! Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: That's Hope! Thou annointest my head with oil: That's Consecration! My cup runneth over: That's Abundance! Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: That's Blessing! And I will dwell in the house of the Lord: That's Security! Forever: That's Eternity! |

I am forced to say you are too confused for my likings. I am sorry anyway if you are hurt.
How can you say Moses never declared that he was the way to the lord. Have you read the book given to him? Or do you think the bible covered everything about Moses the way the book(Torah) given to him did.
You probably have comprehension problem, by saying they are the way to the lord i mean you must believe in them to make heaven, you must follow their teachings.
You must be deluded by saying Muhammed never said he was the way to Allah. Why then is he the messenger? Why then do you have to believe in him as a muslim? Why then must you follow is teachings as a muslim to make heaven?
Look you said i don't understand the bible, but it is not my problem if the different versions of the bibles are not the same. Now, the verse i quoted for you was John 16:7 and i am sure you understood me but because you are hypocrite you pretended to act otherwise. Okay check that verse now and compare with this, "Jesus died because that is the reason for which he came and that is to take away the sins of those who believe in him." This is according to you.
I never said that the bible covered the life of Moses differently as the book(Torah) given to Moses did. But the bible didn't cover it as extensively as the book given to Moses. Same way the quran didnt cover the life of Jesus as the bible did.
Bro i wonder how passed in school as the holy spirit is yet to reside in you. Hence, your comprehension skills is low.
Please explain the contradiction between John 16:7 and "Jesus died because that was the reason why..." as you claimed. Moses declared he is the way to God ? Provide the verse pleased, when the children of isreal disobeyed God and God send serpent to bite them , as the cry for help. Moses intercede on there behalf, STILL God did not used Moses as there salvation, Moses had to mould a giant serpent to stand as the link between the believers and God. And Jesus even liken himself as the SERPENT. John 3:14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, |

Look a muslim is an arabic word which literally means "one who submits." So anyone who submits to the oneness of God and believes in the prophet of his time is referred to as a muslim. During the time of Moses, he preached the oneness of God, and anyone who believed in the oneness of God and Moses as his messenger then was a muslim.
Jesus also preached the oneness of God, and those who believed in that oneness and Jesus as his messenger were muslims. So also for Muhammed.
The different forms in which they prayed do not matter as the books given to them were different. Also everybody prayed according to the book given to him. So the term muslim does not means the form in which you pray, but your submission to oneness of God and his messenger of your time.
Did Jesus\moses ever mentioned allahh?
This question shows that you are the dumb one here. Have you ever read the arabic version of the bible before? The word Allah is arabic word meaning the creator. Both arab muslims and arab christians use this word to mean God - the creator. Can you see how confused you are bro?
I am sure you have read my other posts, why don't you help your fellow brothers to answer the questions i raised. you guys are being deceive by satan, satan present what look like truth to deceive you, All the prophet you keep on mentioning are Jews, ONLY muhammed is an Arab who proclaimed himself as prophet, do you really believe God will waited for soo long just to send a different man from different descended to contradicte his message? The Qur’an states Muhammad was the first Muslim. ( Surah 6:163). However, it also that Abraham who lived centuries before Muhammad was a Muslim. ( Surah3:67). And The Qur’an states that the disciples of Jesus who lived before Muhammad were also Muslims. ( Surah 5:111). In fact, the Qur’an claims that all prophets, from the time of Abraham to Muhammad were Muslims. (Surah 22:78) QUESTION: Since the Qur’an states that Muhammad was the first Muslim, while at the same time declaring that there were Muslims before the time of Muhammad, is this not a clear proof of the existence of a contradiction in the Qur’an? How are you going to reconcile the Qur’an’s claim that Muhammad was the first Muslim with the Qur’an’s statement that Abraham who lived before him was also a Muslim? How are you going to reconcile the Qur’an’s claim that Muhammad was the first Muslim with the Qur’an’s statement that the disciples of Jesus who lived before him were Muslims? Do you not agree that if Abraham was truly a Muslim as the Qur’an claims, then Muhammad cannot be the first Muslim? Do you not agree that if the disciples of Jesus were truly Muslims as the Qur’an claims, then Muhammad cannot be the first Muslim? Do you not agree that one or the other verse in the Qur’an is a lie? Does this not clearly prove that the Qur’an contains a false statement in it? Will the true Word of God contain an error in it? As such, can you really trust the Qur’an as the Word of God? Who was the first Muslim? The Qur’an gives the following answers: Muhammad ( Surah 6:14, Surah 6:163), Abraham (Surah 2:127-133, Surah 3:67) Moses (Surah 7:143), some unnamed Egyptians (Surah 26:51), Disciples of Jesus (Surah 5:111). So Muslims, according to your Qur’an, who was the first Muslim? |

Look i told you earlier that modern Christianity is so confused. Can you now see for yourself? See how confused you are too.
Quran uses plurality when he is talking about Allah and all his angels that works for him. For instance if you are the president of a country you can use "I" or "We" to address your administration. When you use "We" it shows humility. When Allah says "We" in the quran he is refering to himself and all his angels. That is God is even showing humility there. Can you see how logical Islam is as compare to Christianity?
You want me to accept Jesus as my saviour right? The same Jesus that couldn't save himself when he was about to be killed according to the bible.
Bro dont be confused as modern Christianity is. Surah 4:171: “The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was (no more than) an apostle of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and A SPIRIT FROM HIM .” The words used in Surah 4:171 are ruhun-minhu, “a Spirit from him.” Thus, the Qur’an clearly describes the human, Jesus, as a Spirit from God himself. With Jesus being the ONLY exception, no humans are ever depicted as such. He is the only man who God bestows His spirit on. Meaning , He is a man whom God possessed, in other word , HE IS FULLY GOD AND FULLY MAN. You say allah used the plurality "we" meaning he had help from the angel, so the angels are partina to Allah ? In fact here is this verse that exposed your lies: Surah 21:91: “And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: WE breathed into her of OUR SPIRIT , and WE made her and her son a sign for all peoples.” (Yusuf Ali) So you mean angels and Allah breath in to Mary their spirits ? Ignorance muslim, As a matter of fact , the word "OUR" involved more than ONE person and the word "SPIRIT" is singular, in other word 3personalities in ONE being, is it not what the holy bible teach ? Yet your muslims scholar twist it not to contradicte the verse that is against trinity.so you failed woefully , explained the use of plurality in the quran. |

Oga act like a civilized person by stating the verse in the quran. Again, act like a smart person by attacking those questions too.
Thank you. read the thread, how many time will I provide the verse ? Ok. Surah 4:157: And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure. (Shakir) If you read this account in its entirety from Surah 4:153 to Surah 4:162, you will understand who they are that are saying, “Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah.” According to the Qur’an, it is the Jews saying this. Think! Would the hostile Jews call Jesus the “Messiah” when they have rejected him as the Messiah? It must be remembered that the Jewish religious leaders even objected when Pilate wrote a title saying, “King of the Jews.” (John 19:19-22). It is, therefore, illogical for the Jews to boastfully say that “we have killed the Messiah” when they did not accept Jesus as the Messiah in the first place. And if they did recognize him as the Messiah – as this verse implies – would they have killed him? Whether they accept Jesus or not, the Jews will never make such a statement, sarcastically or otherwise, regarding the Messiah because the Messiah is a reverential figure for whom they waiting for deliverance. No Jews will boast that they have killed the Messiah. And the Jews are still devotedly waiting for the Messiah. |

Thank you. Jesus is fully God and fully man. He has two nature, the Godly nature did not imposed His will on the human nature. The bible say God is a spirit, can spirit walk on the realm of human? No unless He possessed a body, in this case, a flesh is being possessed and its JESUS. Christ is ONE person. All the kings in the bible can be called christ or messiah(anointed one) and it is the prophet who anoint this king. He made all things perfect, lucifer aka Satan, was even the most perfect, yet somehow in a perfect heaven, sin(that was nowhere before) found the most perfect thing an all knowing God created and corrupted it, where the feck did the sin come from if not from God who made all things? Nonsense. sin came from satan will. Notice the "I WILL" in this verse: Isaiah 14:12–15 12 “How dyou are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! 13 You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ 15 But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit. |

Rilwayne001: Whats your take on Mattew 5:9?
Then what is the essence of the genealogy of Jesus?
Woww! Are you sure of this? Can you back it up?
Trying to digress, isn't it?
BS.
Address my questions. Jesus was the legal son of Joseph but not the biological son of Joseph. According to Matthew: Joseph is descended from Solomon, the son of King David and Bathseba this make Jesus eligible to the throne of David /judah. Why luke trace it ,Joseph Os descended of Nathan, another son of David the Jews never introduce women as direct genealogical links, |

Rilwayne001: Get this to your dead brain Mr. man. This is just sarcastic mockery on their part, much in the same way that the Romans mocked Jesus in the Bible:
Matthew 27:29 and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said.
Does that mean they believe he is the king of jews? nonsense, why are you quoting the bible?infacte that is the points, the Jew in the bible do not accepts Him as there messiah , they mock him for that, but the quran indicate, the Jews believe , He is the messiah BUT went ahead to make attempt on his life . When barnabas and Jesus was handed to the crowd, who shall be released, the crowd chose barnabas: Mark 15:15: “At that Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas to them, and, after having Jesus whipped, he handed him over to be impaled.” The crowd did not believe in Him that is why they chose barabbas. But here, the Jews boast , they killed the messiah. Why will they kill the one that God promise through the descended of Abraham the messiah will come ? It must be remembered that the Jewish religious leaders even objected when Pilate wrote a title saying, “King of the Jews.” (John 19:19-22). It is,therefore, illogical for the Jews to boastfully say that “we have killed the Messiah” when they did not accept Jesus as the Messiah in the first place. |

Rilwayne001: Man, that they call him the messiah doesn't mean they believe he is the messiah. They were mocking him. And because of their saying (in boast) , "We killed Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah," - but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of 'Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] 4:157 Hilal-Khan Does this verse look like the Jews are mocking Jesus ?muhammed or Allah is inconsistent with his word , keep on living in denial. |

malvisguy212: Muhammad's followers and the Arabian pagans performed the Hajj shoulder to shoulder right up until the year before Muhammad's last Hajj, at which time Muhammad kicked the pagans out of the ritual that they had developed and practiced in Mecca before Muhammad was even born:
Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 26, Number 689: Narrated Abu Huraira: In the year prior to the LAST HAJJ of the Prophet when Allahs Apostle made Abu Bakr the leader of the pilgrims, the latter(Abu Bakr) sent me in the company of a group of people to make a public announcement: 'NO PAGAN IS ALLOWED TO PERFORM HAJJ AFTER THIS YEAR , and no naked person is allowed to perform Tawaf of the Kaba.'
Observ the wording in this hadith,"the last hajj" this word indicate that the pagan and muslims performed hajj TOGETHER."NO PAGAN IS ALLOWED TO PERFORM HAJJ AFTER THIS YEAR" mark the end of this unity between muslims and pagan he retain most of the pagan ritual including" doing tawaf between safa and marwa . Some of Muhammad's closest followers didn't like to perform the Saee of al-Safa and al-Marwah, for example, because they knew it had been a ritual of Arabian JINN-DEVIL WORSHIP :
Sahih al-Bukhari 2 Book 26 710 Narrated 'Asim: I asked Anas bin Malik: "Did you use to dislike to perform TAWAF BETWEEN SAFA AND MARWA?" He said, "Yes, as it was of the ceremonies of the days of the PRE -lSLAMIC PERIOD OF IGNORANCE , till Allah revealed: 'Verily! (The two mountains) As-Safa and Al- Marwa are among the SYMBOL of Allah. It is therefore NO SIN FOR HIM WHO PERFORMS THE PILGRIMAGE TO THE KA'BA, or performs 'Umra, to perform Tawaf between them.'" (2.158)
The muslims know that doing tawaf between safa and marwa are jinn worshippers ritual that why the refused, muhammed had to intervene.
The vast majority of Muhammad's followers have not bothered to investigate where the tradition of Ramadan came from other than to believe that, like everything else In Islam, Muhammad engaged in it and/or instructed his followers to.
In Mecca, the Ahnaf were called Sabians because of the doctrines they embraced. Later, when Mohammed claimed to be a prophet, he was called a Sabian by the inhabitants of Mecca because they saw him performing many Sabian rites which included praying five times a day; performing several movements in prayer that were identical with the Mandaeans and the Harranians; and making ablution, or ceremonial washing, before each prayer. In the Qur'an, Mohammed called the Sabians “people of the book”like the Jews and Christians. |

1. Were in the bible it say "you are worthless? 2.did the bible say God hate sinners ? 3.God love required justice, are you a father? Punishing your son for evil deed mean you hate him ? 4.where in the bible we are discourage not to ask question? “The Bible must be the invention either of good men or angels, bad men or devils, or of God. However, it was not written by good men, because good men would not tell lies by saying ‘Thus saith the Lord;’ it was not written by bad men because they would not write about doing good duty, while condemning sin, and themselves to hell; thus, it must be written by divine inspiration” 5.James 1:14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Rilwayne001: It has been made clear in the Quran that the jews reject the truth Jesus preached and they sought to kill him. We all know the truth he preached, which is to worship one and only GOD in truth and to desist from sin.
The fact that they reject is prophethood alone is a proof that they reject the message he brought. [/b] what was the truth the Jews reject? Did they believe in more than one God ? |
Islam › Re: Muslims: Why The Attempt To Kill Jesus? by malvisguy212: 9:21am On Jul 16, 2015 |
Rilwayne001: The truth is to worship the One and only GOD ALMIGHTY in truth and desist from sin. The Israelite rejected his prophethood which is tantamount to rejecting his message. And they sought to kill him because they are obstinate to the truth. is this the reason an attempt was made to Jesus life in the quran? Because Jesus preach the ONE GOD ? Is Judaism not the religion of Moses ? Did Moses preach more than one God ? The Jews even called them self children of Abraham and if they are Abraham children ,they will believe in one God. Soo you failed woefully. The Jews believe in one God also. Try another lie.believing in one God is not the reason Jesus was killed. |

In the old testament, this is how the law of blasphemy is: Leviticus 24:16 anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.
And it was the same reason Jesus was kill :
John 19:17 The Jewish leaders insisted, "We have a law, and according to that law he must DIE, because he claimed to be the Son of God."
Through out the new testament, the Jews are plotting to killed him: John 5:18 For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself EQUAL WITH GOD .
In the bible we know the reason Jesus was killed, but the same cannot be said in the quran, one thing for sure, an attempt was made in his life, why ? The quran did not say it. |
