PhonesRe: "0806" Phone Numbers on MTN Nigeria Network by mamba(m): 11:09pm On May 10, 2005
wait a sec, there's 0803*******

That's 8 digits, from my calculation it means they have exhausted 10 million lines.
PhonesRe: Useful WAP/MMS tips on Glo plus everything you need to know by mamba(op): 11:02pm On May 10, 2005
Well, i don't think MTN has plans for gprs cos they seem to be concentrating on increasing their subscriber base and expanding network.

Vmobile should be the one to wait for.

As for me, I only watch home videos when my sisters are back from school on holidays.
I actually feel that the majority of home video fans are female, do you guys notice this??

BTW, my preferences are as follows:
Best female actress; Stella Aboderin
Best male actor; Jim Iyke
PhonesRe: Smiley on cellphones. by mamba(m): 6:46am On May 10, 2005
Most current colour screen phones produced from 2004 upwards can display smileys.

A smiley e.g. ;-) consists of 3 characters only, while a page of an SMS consists of 160 characters therefore you can input about 50 smileys in an SMS which will cost you only =N=15

All sonyericsson, sagem and siemens phones with colour screen has this function.

AYA, I feel you and I'm quite disappointed with glo and their nature of service.
glo should have implemented CSD in order to supplement it's gprs for the service to be available where there's no gprs coverage.

I've been in Akure for the past 3 days and gprs is not functioning there at all..
hence their claims of "always-on internet access anywhere, anytime" is false..

PhonesVmobile's V-step/second, the best deal for prepaid subscribers. by mamba(op): 3:15pm On May 04, 2005
I'm a regular user of Vmobile Vstep/sec & I've been enjoying some benefits which I feel every V-mobile prepaid user should know.

What is Vstep?
It's a reducing tariff plan for prepaid subscribers that can reduce your tariff to as low as 48kobo/sec within a 30days cycle.

How it works
Once you have successfully switched to Vstep, the confirmation date is the first day of your 1month cycle in which you have the opportunity to reduce your tariff to as low as 48kobo/sec within that month.

Your tariff starts at 70kobo/sec from confirmation and after making calls totalling 60mins or 3600sec, your tariff reduces to 55kobo/sec. Making additional calls for 60min or 3600 sec further reduces your tariff to 48kobo/sec within that particular month.

After a month, your tariff is automatically restarted at 70kobo/sec again.

Here's a table for explanation

Talk time within 30days Tariff/second () Total recharge value ()
0-60mins 0.70 2,520

60-120mins 0.55 2,520- 4,500

120mins & above 0.48 4,500 & above

After every month, your tariff goes back to 70kobo/sec and you have the opportunity to reduce it as you make more calls.

Advantages of this package
1- If you are a user that makes calls worth of 60min/month,
you save 10kobo/sec on every call making a total of 360

2- If you make calls worth 120min/month,
You save 10k/sec for 1st 60min = 360
and 25k/sec for 2nd 60mins = 900
Total savings = 1260

3- If you make calls worth 180min/month,
You save 10k/sec for 1st 60min= 360
25k/sec for 2nd 60mins= 900
32k/sec for 3rd 60mins= 1,152
Total savings= 2412

4- SMS on this tariff is 10 off-peak

5- The more calls you make, the greater your savings.

How do I switch to Vstep/sec?
Compose a text message with the word STEP and send to 170. Of course you have to be in per second billing before you send this or else you'll be switched to Vstep/minute which is not quite as economical.

If you have further questions/comments please ask/continue with this thread.

Cheers!

I thought as much that people will think it was in unilag, well it happened in UNEC.

Nice Domino, good to see a lady identifying here.

BTW, I have a junior brother in IUO that keeps complaining every time he comes home that popsie must give him a ride to take to school, Efizi/oppression was killing him in school cos you almost certainly can't get a girlfriend in that school if you don't have a ride that's tight, when I say tight I mean PIMPed up with DVDs, Mp3's, chrome and allow rims/wheels with spinners and not forgetting oye/Ac.

Silverbird, are you like the real Silverbird?

Well, if my lover ditches me to marry another person I'll simply take heart and start from somewhere again. In this age where there are enough alluring chicks out there, I'll just look for a prettier chick as a consolation.

One of our regular guys on this forum whom has a glodirect contract with glo has decided to ditch glo because of their lack of respect for customers using this platform.

I must say that I'm probably gonna follow suit cos I just noticed that their service is really epileptic.

GPRS is now off at my end and I'm beginning to think glo's falling short in this department.

Well, I second your motion about swear words and grammatical errors being edited.
I'm guilty of the use of some swear words and I thank God that I've somehow repented, thanks to Admin.
I quite agree that some of us, including me are not very good in English sha.
I never really liked English, maybe there'll be a regional thread where people like me can express ourselves in Yoruba

Guys and chicks, plzz go on and wax lyrical jare.
The experience was in the past and I've moved on since then.

Japanese cars are truly notable for their fuel economy and reliability.
I would have considered Honda accord 90's model but it's so expensive, I don't have 750k.

Omo I no vex o!

But haba
Where are the car owners in this forum?
I thought i would have been reading posts from guys and chicks talking about their Jeeps and exotic cars by now.
Is condition so critical?

Axeprince, I like Bmw but won't go for it, fuel prices are increasing like hell everyday and I don't wanna get bankrupt spending my last change on fueling a car that's gonna be drinking fuel like water.

Ranking so far
1- Axeprince- Machine/Okada

2- Mamba- leg-zus

3- Mr Admin- legedez Benz

Let's improve on this.....
FamilyRe: Why Is The Man The Head Of The Family? by mamba(m): 7:55pm On May 02, 2005
That saying what a man can do, a woman can do better is a fable.
what is it that a woman can do better than a man? probably jisting, nagging and gossiping.

I'm not trying to diss women sha!

A man is the head of the family because of some special attributes such as

1- The first being on earth.

2- Made from God's own image

The woman was a helper initially but after being the first to sin and then
luring Adam into sin, she was relegated to the position of subordinate.
Car TalkMy Car, Your Ride and Our Dream Cars by mamba(op): 6:14pm On May 02, 2005
As usual with my style of starting threads, this one’s going to be preceded by a true story as well.

On Monday 22nd of April 2002, I was going to school in my Legzus, I got to the school gate and was surprised by the mammoth crowd waiting for taxi/okada to convey them into the school premises. I decided to join others because I was so tired and couldn’t afford to keep on trekking.

All of a sudden, a student just drove in with his tight Mercedes Benz E-class, I was lucky to be in front and quickly hustled for a rear passenger seat as other students also rushed in to get a lift. By the time the car doors were slammed shut, we were 4 at the back and 2 in front, including him making 7 of us, the guy started complaining that his car was overloaded and that someone should drop at the front.

The guy closer to the door decided to come down and we were all expecting him to move but he was still shaking his head and saying his car was still overloaded and that someone should drop at the back too. After much complaint, we all agreed that he should choose the person he wanted to evict and the guy looked into the rear view mirror and was like; my guy with the blue shirt, can you please drop?

I looked at myself, looked at the color of shirt I was wearing and also looked at the other 3 guys to confirm whether I was the one he was referring to. Boy I felt humiliated that day and almost committed suicide. I alighted immediately and decided to trek to the lecture hall as the E-class zoomed past me. To say the truth, that day I felt like committing suicide and I was like men, whatever; one day I’ll buy my own Benz and since then I’ve always dreamt about buying a Mercedes Benz.

To be realistic, I’ve decided to buy me a new car, not new but tokumbo and I’m counting on you guys here to help by advising on the best killer tokumbo vehicle out there that’s worth 450k or below. People have advised me to go for primera, mazda, lancer, e.g. But I just need peoples ideas.

So feel free to tell us about your dream ride and your current ride/baby, make, model and what you like/dislike about it.

Note: Other threads about how to economize fuel with your cell phone will be coming up soon plus tips on car maintenance and everything you need to know about your baby will be coming soon.

Cheers!

The Maybach Benz is my dream car sha! But I know that even if I sell everything I’ve ever owned since birth, I can never even afford the tire talk less of the car.

My cousin that just clocked 31 yrs and planning to Jand has been doing thanksgiving since last week.

Plz can someone tell us the reason behind this discrimination by Britain?
CareerRe: Why This Discrimination Between B.Sc & HND? by mamba(m): 12:49pm On May 02, 2005
Hunter, I agree with you,
It's unfair to compare a Technologist to an Engineer.

A poly graduate is supposed to be more knowledgeable in the practical area which was supposed to be their edge. Nowadays, due to the declining standard of practical experience in Polythecnics in Nigeria, employers now prefer to hire University graduates whom have probably the same practical experience with the poly graduates, that's what is sidelining them.
