I just wonder how a mumu almajiri got 95%. At this stage your score matters. You for score 5% make other people from your L. G get 95% make you expect say dem go call you.

There's nothing to be considered cos d big politicians have no interest in it just the same way they do in other government institutions. Abi you don ever hear say dem share NPower slot for ministers b4? NPower na largely based on merit and regional representation.
There are no other things to be considered? really?. so an applicant with 75% that finished the test exhausting the allotted time will be considered ahead of another applicant with the same score but finished within a shorter period?. You think your score is the only consideration and time is not a factor to be considered too especially in an only test where many would want to cheat?. you're obviously daft, let not waste my time with you. best of luck.

Every state/ region will be represented no doubt. And if someone from sokoto scored 10% and he/she happens to be the highest from his state and L.G, he'll definitely be selected. Performance matters here. And tell me how sokoto no go fit produce
a minimum of 90%ters in at least every L.G? You think say people dull like dat? That tells you that selection of applicants is based largely on merit which still validates my initial statement. When NPOWER selects all top performers from each state with scores of 90-100% from a poll of over 5 million applicants, bros talk true, 500k never complete? You need to learn.
Was it the all 5m applicants that made it to this stage?....see let's just stop this mumu analysis and wait for official statement. There are so many things to be considered. I got 95% myself

ASUU is a major issue and will continue to be. Though I'm not majorly bothered about the strike since I'm fairly comfortable with my job. But it's really heartbreaking to see how ASUU/FG waste students' time.
I'm already considering MSc abroad because of it.

In all, consider everything very well, so you don't regret along the line. But one thing I'm sure is; at 25, six years+x is a long time for someone to remain a student in our dear country Nigeria.
Which I'm sure you understand what I mean grin

HealthRe: Why Nigerian Dentists Always Suggest Extraction by Mammangaddafi(m):
Damian457:
Good morning, This is a counter thread to this topic:

https://www.nairaland.com/6354106/why-nigerian-dentists-always-suggest

There are basically 3 reasons why Nigerian Dentists will rather do extraction than a root canal treatment and they include;

1. Cost: The average cost of an anterior teeth root canal is 22k + 35k for crowning and 28k + 35k for posterior teeth in a GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL, Private clinics should be x2 or x3 of the quoted price. For those that don’t know the meaning of crowning it’s a procedure to reenforce the tooth structure after a root canal procedure.
So the question is how many persons can afford to part with over 57k to treat only one tooth when the minimum wage is 33k?? No Government Health Insurance for citizens, The so called NHIS is in shambles, the last time I checked some HMOs in NHIS don’t cover RCT. Payment for Dental care is out of pocket.
Sometimes when you tell patients about the whole root canal procedure they are excited till it gets to money part, some will even be like 57k for just one tooth? Please just remove it.

2. Deteriorated Condition: The first source of help for Nigerian Dental Patients anytime they feel pain is the “Chemist” , some even go to extent of getting dental formulas, powders and concoctions (Mama Agness Dental Formula) to alleviate their pain. Pain is a symptom not a pathology, when you apply those formulas and concoction, the pain may subside but the disease process will continue. Sometimes patient delay in seeking treatment and when they eventually come the tooth is already grossly compromised and are even Retained Roots.

3. Availability of Equipments: We all know healthcare is not a priority in Nigeria. Our hospitals are in shambles and in bad conditions. I will say this without any apology, the only way to get quality medical treatment in Nigeria is via private hospitals if you can afford their fees. Government hospitals are Jokes.
How many governments hospitals have OPG machines? Digital Xray machines or Even functioning dental chairs? How many Nigerians can afford to pay 90-114k per tooth in a Private Clinic to get quality dental care?

The question should be directed to the Government who have kept the citizens in perpetual poverty, with no health care insurance and has made it impossible for them to afford basic life needs.

Let me know If you think otherwise.
patients deserve to know the treatment options available to them regardless. The fact that majority may not. be able to afford it or that they may not have access to the needed facilities does not justify your decision.

EducationRe: #EndASUUStrike Nationwide Protest!!! by Mammangaddafi(m): 6:18am On Dec 17, 2020
Fellow Nigerian students,
*268 DAYS* (23/03/2020 till today)
It is high time we became triggered by the sad reality that our futures have been stagnated by the effects of poor decision-making and backward thinking. It is glaring, even to the blind that the present government and ASUU do not care about our predicament and have left us in limbo for the past 9 months by their obtuse approach to fighting for what they think is right.
We are destined to be the greatest losers in a squabble we have no say in, and much worse is that the *cost is our future.* Thousands of students who were only days from clenching their deserved certificates have been denied from doing so. Even more students have had their stay in school unjustifiably prolonged.
*Now is the time we wake up and fight to save our future!*
Despite several meetings between the two parties, there has been no promise or anything to suggest that we would resume by January, 2021 despite the fact that we've been robbed of 2020.
We must rise together, with unity of purpose to say NO to this evil that is threatening to lay waste to our prospects in life.
Let us join the #SaveOurFuture and #EndASUUStrikeNow trend on Twitter and say 'Enough is enough' to this madness!
#SaveOurFuture
#EndASUUStrikeNow
EducationRe: #EndASUUStrike Nationwide Protest!!! by Mammangaddafi(m): 7:51am On Dec 16, 2020
You listen to the stories across different institutions and they'll only break your heart. People's lives have been halted, they've lost time they can never gain. None of us should be silent about this, what else could matter? There's nothing to fear, the only thing that's real is the pain they've caused us. #EndASUUStrike
