Eligibility requirements
You can study in Canada if you:
• are enrolled at a designated learning institution (DLI)
• prove you have enough money to pay for your:
◦tuition fees
◦living expenses for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada and
◦return transportation for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada
• obey the law, have no criminal record and get a police certificate (if required)
• are in good health and get a medical exam (if required)
• prove to an officer that you will leave Canada when your study permit expires

Not sure if this helps though and which point may have led to failing the eligibility requirements.

A family friend can sponsor you but you need to prove why he's doing so - what's in it for him? Why you and not his own family members? Also, he needs to actually show commitment, and it's recommended that he does this by paying your fees directly from his account and transferring your living expenses to your account or transferring both fees and living expenses to your account.

chucs:
Goodmorning everyone. Please pardon me if my question may seem like i'm drawing anyone backwards. It is as a result of how urgent I needed the information.

Please I want to know if a family friend can sponsor me for a Canadian study program? He lives in Uk and he is a citizen.

I also want to know if he can sponsor two persons at ones.
I will really be glad to get a favourable reply.

Thanks but if it’s just one stop, through Amsterdam to canada do I need a transit visa?

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Mandyknows: 12:27pm On Sep 25, 2019
Nigerians travelling through 2 Schengen countries need a visa, for instance if you fly from Lagos via Amsterdam and Paris to your final destination.

Anita171:
Hello guys, please is a transit visa needed during stopovers at Amsterdam and Paris?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Mandyknows: 8:47pm On Sep 21, 2019
The CAD10k is your estimated living expense for each year of study. For visa purposes, you only need to prove availability of funds for the first year of study unless you're self-sponsored.

seunmohmoh:
Good afternoon house. I have been following this thread for a long time and I wish to study in Canada.

I finished secondary school since 2014,I did GCE and since then I have been applying to Nigerian universities with no luck. I also applied this year and waiting for admission but I am not really interested in it as my focus has always been on Canada universities to study economics.

I have worked as a teacher, learned hair styling and currently working in a betting company. My problem is with finance, I currently have no one to sponsor me, but my father is the landlord (If it's necessary) he owns the land and house.

My question is the 10,000 cad proof always requested as part of the application; is it just for a year or it covers 4 years course I intend to study. I aim to work and study when I get there.

Your response will be appreciated. Thank you.

Justifying why a graduate is going for a postsecondary diploma (lower than a university degree) to a VO may be tough. I'll suggest looking for a postgraduate diploma course to show academic progression. Unless there's a spin that you can put on the decision oh.

I think it's refering to your employment prospects when you graduate. How will your Canadian study improve your chances of getting a better job in Nigeria, especially given the significant financial cost involved?

emmy4Gold:
Thank you so much Blema111, in my case the reason is employment prospects".. I submitted my employment letters, ID Card, pay slips. The visa officer raise the point of Employment prospects

So sorry for the delay. Order for your GCMS note to know the exact reasons. You could also post a list of your submitted documents and profile so the gurus can review and advise.

Good morning all,
I got a refusal letter based on "I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status" after 5months of waiting.

I'm going to reapply but I need help on how to tackle the above reason.
Thanks in anticipation

What will bring you back to Nigeria? Do you have a job offer in Nigeria? Is your course of study in high demand and will it make you so attractive to companies in Nigeria upon graduation? You could work this angle whilst also talking about how closely knit your family is.

Zzzz1234:

The answer is Yes if you have spent 6 consecutive months or more in Nigeria as it's one of the designated countries.

I am so sure I disclose it

If you still have a copy of the relevant form, then attach it to your response to them, clearly stating that you disclosed the previous visa refusals.
