Eligibility requirements You can study in Canada if you: • are enrolled at a designated learning institution (DLI) • prove you have enough money to pay for your: ◦tuition fees ◦living expenses for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada and ◦return transportation for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada • obey the law, have no criminal record and get a police certificate (if required) • are in good health and get a medical exam (if required) • prove to an officer that you will leave Canada when your study permit expires Not sure if this helps though and which point may have led to failing the eligibility requirements. A family friend can sponsor you but you need to prove why he's doing so - what's in it for him? Why you and not his own family members? Also, he needs to actually show commitment, and it's recommended that he does this by paying your fees directly from his account and transferring your living expenses to your account or transferring both fees and living expenses to your account. chucs: |

Nigerians travelling through 2 Schengen countries need a visa, for instance if you fly from Lagos via Amsterdam and Paris to your final destination. Anita171: |

The CAD10k is your estimated living expense for each year of study. For visa purposes, you only need to prove availability of funds for the first year of study unless you're self-sponsored. seunmohmoh: |

Justifying why a graduate is going for a postsecondary diploma (lower than a university degree) to a VO may be tough. I'll suggest looking for a postgraduate diploma course to show academic progression. Unless there's a spin that you can put on the decision oh. jidluk: 1 Like |

I think it's refering to your employment prospects when you graduate. How will your Canadian study improve your chances of getting a better job in Nigeria, especially given the significant financial cost involved? emmy4Gold: |

You can go by 8am tomorrow to pick up your passport. The mail is simply telling you to ensure you pick it up before 3.30pm on Tuesday 10/09/2019 so tomorrow is as good a day to pick it as Tuesday. Higihaga: |

What will bring you back to Nigeria? Do you have a job offer in Nigeria? Is your course of study in high demand and will it make you so attractive to companies in Nigeria upon graduation? You could work this angle whilst also talking about how closely knit your family is. Zzzz1234: |

Good morning everyone. Please can I use fixed deposit certificates as proof of funds, without including my statement of account? I plan to include my payslips, employment letter, letter of introduction from employer. Please, will this be an issue? |
