mfm04622: Forgery against who? For there to be forgery, there must be an intent to commit fraud, so what and who exactly is the intent against? The bank he borrowed from? Yall don't understand what forgery or financial crime is. This is clearly a commercial transaction in which their they're trading blames just to use someone as a scapegoat. All the unlawful charges against Innoson's bank account, according to your own purview, isn't that a crime? Yall should continue deceiving yourselves |

stagger: But the person is very correct at least in the Nigerian context. You almost certainly cannot rely on instruments at night despite the fact that the pilot is instrument and type rated for the aircraft they're flying. Visibility is very important in flying regardless of instruments, for instance if you cannot see the runway lights upon final, if you were a pilot, would you continue your approach? |

Icon79: But he's right.. The article says it's about 11,000 Square Meters or about 120,000 Square Foot which is about the size of a Walmart Store. This is barely a store, let a lone a mall... As he rightly put, it's not up to the size of West Hills Mall in Ghana that has a size of 27,000 Square Meters... That's 2.5x size this store, not mall. 1 Like |

Nonnyflex: Then the aggrieved should seek compensation from the court if the govt sold it directly to them. This should not be contested at all. |
Properties / Re: Houses In Oshodi Demolished As Owners Cry Out (Photos) by manny4life(m): 10:19pm On Feb 01, 2018 |
Nathan2016: I never said govt owns all the land, don't put words in my mouth and I don't need to read the land act. What I said is very simple: if your property is in the govt's right of way, they will bring it down. Whether there an actual right of way or not (to create a road to your house according to you) is a different issue. |
Properties / Re: Houses In Oshodi Demolished As Owners Cry Out (Photos) by manny4life(m): 8:34pm On Feb 01, 2018 |
Nonnyflex: Did you say better alternatives? If you followed the rules first by making sure the land you purchased wasn't on a govt right of way, maybe they wouldn't be victims. As difficult this is, this is an important lesson for many. Although I will suggest the govt sort of give some sort of compensation to the tenants to relocate but it's not the govt's responsibility to do so. Heck people need renters insurance to guard against against landlords that are in high risk of their properties being demolished. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: FG Silent On Concessioning Of Onitsha Port, Assures Early Delivery Of Baro Port by manny4life(m): 8:26pm On Feb 01, 2018 |
post=64675775: And this can be done through a system of trans-loading tens of containers or some thousands of volumes of goods into barges to Onitsha direct and the importer receives his or her consignments in Onitsha. From an economic standpoint: please explain how this process is supposed to unveil itself? At what point will the trans-loading occur? Who bears the cost? What's the economic benefit? If you ask me, Onitsha river port can serve a more important economic advantage than being a container port which according to you, will barely have barges carrying just tens of containers. |
Politics / Re: FG Silent On Concessioning Of Onitsha Port, Assures Early Delivery Of Baro Port by manny4life(m): 8:15pm On Feb 01, 2018 |
post=64675181: I am disputing what you said; I think you misunderstand me, or perhaps I misunderstood. You said the govt doesn't want to gazette the port as a final destination. My point is: even if the govt gazettes' it as a final destination, container carrying vessels won't dock there as a final destination, in which at the end of the day, defeats the purpose of being a final destination. International shipping companies would NOT spend an extra $$$ in an attempt to transfer a few hundred containers unto barges for it's final call to Onitsha. It's just not economically viable and it poses inherent risk considering that you're dealing with Inland Waterways. So the question remains: who bears the extra cost? The only arrangement thus far which seems a bit more plausible is the way JB is handling it: say containers are cleared in Lagos and onward to Onitsha. |
Politics / Re: FG Silent On Concessioning Of Onitsha Port, Assures Early Delivery Of Baro Port by manny4life(m): 7:18pm On Jan 31, 2018 |
post=64663303: This is a container barge not a really a container ocean sailing vessel. As much as I want the port in Onitsha functioning, there will be severe limitations simply because Onitsha is NOT deep and cannot bring in large ships to make it a final destination. Containers can be transferred from Lagos onward to Onitsha where it's processed finally, but that's as much it can go. Onitsha can serve as a feeder but certainly not as a destination. 1 Like |

Gaddafithe2nd: Leadership is NOT forced on anyone, but when one claims to perform wonders if he/she becomes a leader, then be expected to act like one. CEO's are leaders (appointed), yet they're held to high standards, and when they fail to produce results, they're fired. Presidents on the other hand are elected by the people, not just because of who they are, but more so, the purported value the aspirant claim to bring to the table. When the expectation falls short, yes people will be mad.... And NO, whether or not they've held leadership positions or not is very irrelevant to the status quo. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen... Simple and short. #CaseClosed 1 Like |

Gaddafithe2nd: This is exactly the mentality that has kept us backwards. It's about give and take and you certainly cannot give what you don't have. Buhari has nothing to offer so he decides to send his VP, if he had something to offer, something like investment and security, foreign and trade policies, he would have embarked on the trip. Hate the summit all you want, African Union hasn't really played any role in Nigeria since Buhari became president. As for loans, no one begged Buhari to take loans, Buhari received loans largely without him attending WEF. Loans are not bad, using the loans for something meaningful is the problem. Don't hate the player, hate the game. After all, in Nigeria, the average interest rate from banks is at almost 18% interest rate, what has Nigeria govt achieved with it's high interest loans? Biko bounce because loans are not the problem, managing it and not using it to fund Herdsmen is where the real problem is. |

SBG04: To be served in court you say? Wonderful. So the service of process is done in court abi? Guy, biko park one side. Why would the judge ORDER the charge sheet to be dropped on the table if a normal service of process in court is within the rule of law? When you answer that question, let me know... P.S.: The Judge is being mischievous by interfering with certain covenants of civil/criminal procedures, a case of judicial overreach. The judge does not enact laws, rather looks up to the laws as a guiding principle. The judge has shown bias and needs to recuse himself from this case. |

The level of reasoning displayed on this thread is alarming.... Further proves that we're not united and we need to go our different ways. How does any sensible person, who arguably reads the article and comes to a sound conclusion that a defendant that hasn't been properly served, would show up in court just because he heard of his charges on social media? Just pathetic... |

More so, GTB is capitalized to the tune of N25billion (CBN minimum capital requirement for commercial banks). I don't know how much Innoson owes GTB, but GTB currently owes N8billion (court judgment) that is currently being appealed to the Supreme Court. Innoson's debt can certainly not be in the tune of N8billion but I stand corrected. |
Business / Re: Police Fire Tear Gas At Innoson Motors Workers, GTB Moves To Shut Down Factory by manny4life(m): 6:31am On Dec 20, 2017 |
I'm a bit lost on this Innoson vs GTB issue; according to papers and evidence circulating the web, Innoson has won over GTB in court three times. So my question is: during the court proceedings in which different judges (including the appeals court) awarded judgment to Innoson, didn't GTB tender evidence in court suggesting that Innoson defrauded them? I mean why would the courts grant judgment when it's clear (for assumption basis) that the award is based on a fraud? The case of fraud is baseless and doesn't make any sense. |

cstr1000: Honestly, our governors aren't creative at all with revenue generation. They all think it's about taxes when it's not. For instance, states like CA depend on Agriculture and Silicon Valley for a bulk of their revenues. States like TX depend on Oil & Gas, Florida is Tourism, Nevada is gaming, etc. Let Anambra put infrastructures in place first and watch and see how things pick up. 3 Likes 1 Share |

post=61859466: Paying taxes is one thing, using the funds appropriately is another. Obiano just Peter Obi is clueless on how to generate revenue. Revenues to a state comes from economic buoyancy which is dependent on economic infrastructures... FACT. For instance, some cities here in Texas have industrial centers/business parks, etc. that are built/supported by the cities, not states but cities. For these cities, they put infrastructures in place that drives the economy. As economically buoyant as Anambra is, generating a paltry sum of N1.5 billion is very shameful. IGR shouldn't be from tax sources, states can actually invest in infrastructures and render services that generate revenues. 3 Likes 2 Shares |
