victorvezx: Lmao, you're just as empty as they come, you throw out numbers without supporting your purported claim with a backup. Assuming I accepted your stats, you honestly believe that true federalism is all about controlling oil resources? How silly can this be? This is why economic issues shouldn't be discussed in a beer parlor. So in your mind, you really believed if we really practiced true federalism, according to you, no oil in the SE would make SE suffer? Here are a few pointers - Without oil, the SE on average has the lowest poverty [PAP Report], I'll leave you to deduct what this means, - During the cash policy by SLS when it was introduced in June 2014, according to their study, there were 5 states that topped the list of cash movers... Anambra was no.4 and Lagos and Anambra were the least oil producing states - Anambra and Enugu has been listed among 9 states alongside Lagos as states that are economically viable. In fact, the term is "financially prudent" states not saddled with so much debt in comparison to their GDP. - Academically, the SE surpasses all other regions (WAEC and other examination councils have proved it time and time again). Let the govt hands off and several years later, let's take a stock of how far we've come. With these few pointers, what am I trying to say? Despite the federal govt's blockage to hold the SE down, contrary to your myopic belief, the SE is economically viable even without oil at least quoting your own numbers. If we practiced true federalism, first and foremost, the SE would be one of the MOST prosperous regions. Why? a. Our local govt (without the state) would function, there would be grass root development considering that SE has the highest # of small scale and indigenous factories. Heck, Innoson has set the pace and is going higher and higher, mark my word 20 years from today, you'd see that SE is a global exporter of auto vehicles. b. Our states would grow rapidly, let the govt hand over the airports, seaport, and rails to private companies like the U.S. and you watch and see magic happen right before your own eyes. Why do you think the FG has refused to dredge Onitsha river and wouldn't grant approval for it to be dredged? Why do you think the SE was removed from he rail modernization plan? Even on the issue of power, former minister of power that started his own power generating company in Aba was consistently disturbed. Let the govt hands off, and you'll know how economically hungry we are. c. The SE is blessed beyond oil, the coal deposits in Enugu is more than enough to generate enough power to lighten up the entire SE and even for export. Imo is blessed with oil and gas (I believe they have more of gas deposits) that's yet untapped. Advanced R& would definitely open the gateway to be the next GAZPROM of Nigeria, may be even Biafra I would stop for now but I think you need to educate yourself because the SE don't need NIGER DELTA OIL to succeed. ND needs the SE and not the other way around. We have shown resilience in the times like this and even worse, think about when it's better. 7 Likes 1 Share |

PHILipu1: There's a proverb in Igbo that says, when an adult holds onto what belongs to a child and raises it up for the child not get it, a time would come when the hand of the adult begins to ache, the adult would bring his hands down and the child would take what belongs to him... A time is fast approaching, Buhari would be the one to go to Kuje prison and release Nnamdi Kanu. |

PHILipu1: What a seriously dumb comment. Lagos with a population of almost 20 million residents is the smallest state in the contraption called Nigeria, yet they have the LARGEST IGR in the entire country. Like the one you quoted, do some reading before opening that thing you call mouth. The SE states (Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi) are way big enough to accommodate 100+ million Igbos and we're not up to that. |

Cjrane2: This is his last minute effort to salvage whatever relationship he has with the east because it's dawning on him that the struggle is real and gaining international audience. He wants to be seen as a good president, do you think it's a coincidence that he his VP visited the east, they're reviewing ths 2nd Niger Bridge plan (though I believe it's all bs), and now he wants to visit the east. 2017 is pregnant and no one knows what it will birth to... All I'm saying is that no matter what happens, we shouldn't bear arms. |

As much as I'm in support of the Biafran struggle, I will suggest against the use of arms. Mr. Trump has pledged full support and promised to bring before the UN, a few other countries are in line with Trump. A few days ago, 24 UK parliamentarians supported Kanu's release, before you know it, the number would significantly increase, slow and steady, the world is listening.... let's wait and see how things unfold in 2017. Patience is a virtue, we must exercise it. 11 Likes |

I don't care for whatever report you have to finish; I am not impressed by the mere charade you're putting up here. Next time you open that dirty, stinking gutter of a mouth to abuse hardworking men who hustle for a living, 100x likely better than your sorry ass, know that people like us would always serve your dish cold or hot, you decide. Uchihaitaci: In fact, your iberibe in on a different level. Did you say 99%? Lmao, this shows you lack exposure, and have no clue what the hell you're talking about. The boys of today are not the boys of yesterday, most of the boys you're calling illiterate are probably more educated than you. The world looks at us as traders? The same world recognize Igbo boys as hardworking, educated, smart and intelligent. Don't you think it's rather disappointing to be led by illiterates and dimwits yet you call yourself educated? Education and academia that isn't beneficial to you or even the "illiterates" around you isn't worth it. My advice to you is to stop hating on these boys because most of them have reached the highest echelons of life than you'd every imagine. Ekwusigo'm ka o ha'm n'onu 12 Likes 1 Share |

buddyluv: Umm, this is a business account not a personal account. Also, more reason why elot has to repay exactly the same amount paid into his account. The amount isn't up to the 10k threshold that should trigger bank verification according to him. Also, elot moves a lot of cash considering he has a customer base of 110,000. This isn't a small business account, so let's put to rest all this IRS and bank verification stuff. How does elot draw down the $$$ in his account in exchange of another instrument? Transfers? Withdrawals ? Payments ? e-Check ? Same way he moves that cash, he should use the same method to pay tooltip his money... As simple as that. Let's all be honest in our assessment. 12 Likes |

AntiIPOOP: It is an achievement and here's how. Let's take a cursory look at the manufacturing process and the economic benefit From a manufacturing perspective, this would spur increase in raw material: a. the leather made from skin hides b. soles made from treated wood I believe c. the machinery for cutting and sewing, d. thread made from cotton and gum made from i don't know All these would directly and indirectly cause a chain reaction to the economic benefit below a. Create direct jobs for the economy. 1,300 shops equals to 1,300 self-employed individuals. We've not taken into consideration the extras they hire. So it's fair to say this would create at least 2,500 jobs directly. Indirectly, because we can't estimate, at least based on the points listed up, it would create a few thousands of jobs indirectly. b. Source of revenue for govt. This may be minute, but if you look at the businesses that are directly and indirectly associated, this little venture you see today would boom to generate tens of millions in tax revenue for the govt. c. Wealth. This is self explanatory, I don't need to explain it . In a nutshell and to answer your question again,it's beyond achievement. This is exactly what Nigerians have been clamoring for: making a stable environment to for manufacturing and sustainability. If Buhari's govt focused on setting up small scale industries and supporting them instead of witch hunting them, Nigeria would experience tremendous (real) growth. You'd see our focus shift from imports to exports. Finally, it's okay to criticize but if something is done right and very well, appreciate it. Nothing wrong in saying "good job". 2 Likes |

mavinc4u: Really? When a bag of rice that was $12,000 is now N24,000 and you expect the same thing bought for N199k to still remain? I don't think you understood his point. There's inflation causing sharp increase in prices, whatever could be bought yesterday, you need to double the price to buy today. All you're looking at are inflated prices, nothing else even our budget is inflated as well. 2 Likes |
