Some people tend to turn tradition upside down... It's incorrect to say women don't inherit properties from their late parents, they do. It's only a family house and some cases, family land, that woman never inherits. As for businesses and properties, that's wrong. Mr. Emmy would more than likely lose in court.

The CBN is not Diamond Bank where you manage High Net worth Individuals or consumer relations/privilege banking sounds like customer service to me, yes she's a CFA but imo, she doesn't have enough experience to lead a public institution like the CBN.

Cuche:

Obiano didn't do much on road infrastructure in Anambra Central and South, it is not only Nnewi problem. Since, he's postured that timely opening up of Anambra East/West is the key to Anambra future, which is understandable giving the Oil and gas, flat farming grade soils, and flat land for the Airport city. I expected him to also touch a few economically important roads in the other Senatorial Zones while attending to the hitherto neglected Anambra North.

So far, how much has these Oil & Gas, Grade Soils, and supposed airport has contributed to Anambra? Let's face facts: Nnewi commands more small & medium sized enterprises, employment, etc after Onitsha. Peter Obi neglected Nnewi, Obiano is doing the same, this is the reason why our constitution must change to allow states and their cities to be independent of each other.
Politics / Re: Anambra Least Foreign And Domestic Indebted State. Lagos, Osun, Highest -NBS by manny4life(m): 3:39pm On Sep 20, 2017
Yall should continue arguing about Lagos, the last I checked, Lagos controls a whooping 30% of Nigeria GDP, in a nutshell, if Lagos were to crash, Nigeria is crashing alongside it. Instead of asking how can Anambra come close to controlling the sheer size of Nigeria, you guys are busy arguing about debt. Whether Lagos is the largest known debtor or not, you cannot take away the fact that it's debt is directly related to it's economic activity. The LASG is indebted in other to improve infrastructures that attract economic activity. Continue hating on Lagos, instead of brainstorming on ways to increase economic activity in Anambra.

obiano wants to start building dual carriage roads in the state, something peter obi never considered for 8 years. I rather vote tony nwoye than vote peter obis puppet in pdp.. rubbish

What prevented him from doing so in the last 3.5 years ? Obiano is a certified failure and deserves to be booted out. Under Peter Obi, Anambra was a case study and known for financial prudence, more importantly, we were recognized as an upcoming economic powerhouse. Peter Obi's primary focus was driving investments into Anambra, heck even the CBN recognized Anambra in their 2014/2015 pre-cashless study conducted. There were meaningful & worthy investments and partners, and on a positive note, Anambra was one of FIVE states that passed a sustainability debt test. Have you looked recently at Anambra's deficit lately? Peter Obi left a fat account for the drunkard Obiano, today, Anambra is saddled with much debt can it can probably pay for... Please tell us why Obiano's case is different?I'm not a fan of Peter Obi, and he was certainly not the best because I criticized him, but heck he's miles ahead Obiano whose administration is laced with lies and deceit... 4 years after and he's yet to "start", who's deceiving who?

No, you can't post more. The very fact you included commissioning a filling station as something worthy of listing as an accomplishment is embarrassing.

It's on record that last year, no South East state, including Anambra, attracted any foreign investment. So, Peter Obi attracting SAB Miller, one of the largest brewers in the world is a positive achievement. A 500 million naira filling station (a little over a million dollars) being built by an Anambra son is not something to brag about. Let's stop celebrating mediocrity and demand the best from our leaders.

I rarely post on NL, but I had to respond to this one... The fact he posted a "MEGA" filling station as an accomplishment is really disappointing... As in seriously? Thank you for responding appropriately, Obiano is a complete failure and a sell out.

It's easy for many keyboard warriors to type "why didn't they leave for other neighboring cities despite the warning"? Well it isn't that easy to just up and leave your home because you really don't know precisely where it's gonna start from. A lot of neighboring cities that hadn't anticipated to be hit were hit hard.. Sugar land, Cypress, Richmond, were under intense flooding, up north around Spring, Humble, were hit hard. To the east, 1-10 to Galveston, Beaumont were submerged, and then 610 (the fourth largest road in the U.S.) was completely under water. So to answer your question, there were "NO" nearby cities to go to other than prepare for the worst.

Bearer of bad news... It's not crashing due to economics, but just a warning that people should conduct their transactions at least 12hrs before the network maintenance begins. You who's trying to buy "cheap BTC" would end up losing according to the link you posted. So you be very cautious as well.

...then IPOB SHOULD pack themselves from every part of Nigeria first...then we will all know u are serious and not being fraudulent as usual...

This wouldn't be a problem only if the govt would stop collecting taxes from the SE states; relinquish all their federal land, mineral rights to resources in the SE, allow the states to develop at their pace without any interference and much more. I'm sure this would be a very much viable option. You cannot tell them to pack and leave, yet you're not willing to relinquish your authority... Can two work together except they be agreed? You're telling Igbos to pack and leave, yet the budget Osinbajo signed allocated at least 60% to the North: who's deceiving who?

Yes we can!

Everybody is getting fed-up of there rant and chest-beating?

Dudes have forgotten that no matter how, NIGERIA will always be on the winning side!

There lots will always

-Apply for visas
- Work-permit
- There students will start paying as international students in our prestigious schools
- Multinational will be forced to down size foreign workforce.
- Pay high taxes as international businessmen/businesswoman which will triple revenue for Nigerian state and Federal goverment
-Land use charges on there properties within Nigeria will triple as foreigners has they happen to have more dispersed investment
-For at least 20years, There economy will be "solely" dependent on Nigeria, and a bitter truth is that,

- The scenery after break-up will be similar, if not worse than what is happening in South-Africa. They will be highly discriminated within the Nigerian territory that will frequently spring up xenophobic attacks.

Just a few to mention! Reality stares at them!

Crying more than the bereaved.

All these things you listed are "relative" to demand and supply in an economy. Heck, the average Igbo business man is already paying way more than his counterpart. What sector of the economy will be solely dependent on Nigeria? We are well represented in just about every sector of the economy: trade/commerce, academics & education, farming/agriculture, construction & manufacturing (including automobile), and services such as financial, transportation, entertainment, travel, etc. Yes we're struggling in a few areas, but isn't Nigeria struggling as well? So I ask, how and why do you think Biafra would be "solely" dependent on Nigeria? Again, don't cry more than the bereaved.
Celebrities / Re: Jim Iyke Serves Kolanut At Nnamdi Kanu's House (Photos) by manny4life(m): 4:06am On May 23, 2017
otil1:
You are half right.

Here is the correct explanation:

In Igbo culture, every freeborn is equal. So nobody is made a servant. Rather, anytime kola nut is presented by the owner of the house (the host), there is a particular way it is passed around from source until it reaches the elder that will pray and pour libation.

Jim carried the kola and was passing it on to Ikeyi and he may have represented his State or village or clan.

In kola nut tradition, who is senior or elder is not calculated by age but from where the person is from. For instance a little boy of 14years from Nri may have to have the kola before it gets to a 60 year old man from Awka.

So in your village, a 14 yr old boy will have kola before a 60 yr old?
