Jk na work o .

I do not like these Cameo appearances as well but can't help it.
Great to see the flag is flying at full mast by you guys.

Sunday's games will allocate bragging rights to whom it may concern but in our case could take us to the top . That sure feels good.

Fabio Olanipekun  Capello  grin will fail like others before him

Even if Wenger,Mourinho,Rijkaard and Lippi were to coach England they will still fail . Why? The English Press.

Prior to 2002 World Cup if you were from outer space you'd never believe England only won the World Cup once(almost 40 years ago.) huh
The English press turns an above average performer into an exceptional one, a mediocre team into world beaters(more like world beaten), turn 3 little kittens into 3 LIONS and so on.

Capello will only perform if
1.The press is gagged
2.The players don't read papers
3.WAGS gays and co are sent to Australia
4.The Press is gagged(2)

Anything short and England might not even be in 2010.  .  .  quote me cool .

The Prem has just started and initial gra-gra of everyone is over.

The next 5 games will be crucial to the big 4 as they need to chalk up points before losing players to the CAN. This is where Man U/Liverpool might just have the edge. A (potential) 4 point gap between the QUAD now means there's still everything to fight for. And fight we will. We have been inching closer the after the poor start and by half way (Sunderland on 26th) we should be back where we really love being  grin grin grin

Hope our youngsters acquit themselves well tomorrow. No Coventry pleeeeeeeeaaaaassssssse!!!!!!

@Banderas

Not conceeding goals even when you score only one is a very strong point. It gives the team confidence that on a bad day when the strikers are sleeping you might still come out with a result. I guess that was the point MU fans were making. . .that we were not leaking in goals

Reds,
Jackal howdy cool
Good 2 see the goals are coming in now and still not really conceeding. 1 goal conceeded and 8 scored in 2 games is not exactly a state of emergency is it. tongue

The efforts of the guys are simply being rewarded by more goals.It had to happen sooner rather than later.Even when it was the 1-0 stuff our games were never boring.

Something tells me there are many more twists in the next 3 weeks. The table will witness some changes at the top. . . . . don't ask me who's down or up grin grin

@Somze,
No doubt Ass is playing exhilirating football but that should not surprise anyone.

I am of the view that we need to see more . Like the response to dropping points or losing. I doubt if they can go on winning all games in the season. So what happens when you don't win and how do you get your groove back. That was key last season when MU dropped points.Lets see how it plays out.

Beware the lowly placed teams.Remember you guys were top amongst the Top4 head-to-head
A chunk  of Arsenal's defeats were to guys in the bottom half.And they were crucial losses.West Ham,Sheffield,Fulham,etc.

See how you struggled against Sunderland. Never write off guys in  for RofoRofo fight. Bolton? Hey you just found an answer last season to years of torment. Don't mean you'd be lucky this term.

Forget November 3 for now face Bolton first. then Liverpool.

Saha's contract must be reviewed immediately to an earn as you play deal.Play 5 straight matches and get paid.No play no dough. You can detect frustration in Sir Alex but he does not seem to know what to do.Methinks we shud'a bought Anelka before the deadline but we missed out.

We are really thin there. . Rossi,Ole and Saha all gone(yes Saha is gone in case you did not know .  . . .   .at least he's not playing)We just need to build on the momentum of the last few games and for our forwards to keep looking out for each other . If we get into our sweet passing mode things do happen. Ask Wigan. grin grin

@JK47,
I am happy Monsieur Riley did not give those clear calls. Some peeps would have said he was a Man U ref and the game changed cos of that.  huh Remember he's been branded a MU ref in the past . As usual no one would say he denied us 2 clear pens this time. cool

Am happy for the youngsters who acquited themselves well today. Sometimes Ronaldo just spoils his good work by keeping too long on the ball or what do you think?

@Jackal,
Baba decided to give Saha one last chance this season and I hope he does not regret it.I think the guy is being haunted by some peeps from his villa and needs to do some sacrifices(like Drogba did in Yamassoukro when he heard Shevy was coming) grin grin grin grin

Jokes apart why are our guys just picking up stupid knocks. How good is our conditioning? Just wondering

I'm just happy that all the negatives are happening so early in the season and pray they abate soon. It's ironic but despite Arsenal's and the Pool's fantatstic start we are now one point clear. It's early days yet but good to know that we are right there with the contenders and our tails are right where they should be    UP!

Good display especially in the second half and fantastic play by Tevez and Rooney.
The deluge was bound to happen at some point it was only a matter of when(which team). It was good that we lost 2 defenders to a team like Wigan. . . ,  It might have been more difficult if it had been any of the top sides.That's not to play down the efforts of the boys though.

Strong points:
1.Another clean sheet
2.Relatively good game for the young bloods(Pique,Simpson)
3.Tevez hardwork being rewarded with goals
4.Work rate of new buys ,Nani Anderson and Carlos very high
5.Solid defensive play by Ferdinand and good handling of makeshift defence
6.Good outing by Kussack
7.Rooney at his brilliant unselfish best
8.Goals!!!!!
and Lots more

Weak points:
1.More injuries.What's wrong with our conditioning
2.Weak set pieces(the 1st ten corners were colourless monotonous,predictable). The second goal came when some variation was brought in corner number 12
3.(Sometimes)Seeming lack of vision /selfishness by some players
4.Weak final 3rd play in 1st half( no one running in for knockdowns,poor penultimate ball)
5.Quite a few more but  cool

The statement has been made and the players must have even more confidence now.
Good to see our forwards scoring today. . ,  . . .and such good goals.

We've had a poor start to the season and are on top of the league. Wonder what would happen when we find our groove. . . .or have we?

Keep scoring,
Keep winning,

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by manu4laif: 4:12pm On Oct 04, 2007
@JK,
I agree we need to start scoring but I am happy that we are not conceeding presently. It means that there's some semblance of stability in our defence . That can be pricelss.
I think we are not scoring because most times the penultimate pass is not of commensurate quality to the build-up(whatever that means)  huh. Also between Carrick and Scholes there's this fear of going forward to take charge. I suggest Carrick goes back to the Roma game(7-1) and learn one or two things. When Carrick is in his elements we always look very good.

Third I think we fritter too many set plays.Set plays become useful tools to unlock stubborn defences or when players forget to lace up their scoring boots.
But am still confident that these guys upfront will click and when they do  cry cry cry cry tongue

@JK,
Around oh. Work stress and lots of travelling. But been following stuff as best as I can . . . making cameo appearances.

You know what? Nani reminds me of Ronaldo when he first came in. Lot of showboating but beneath that there's still the raw talent. Baba turned Ronaldo into the terror he is today by adding some discipline and am sure he'll help Nani focus on the more on things that will benefit the team.

@Reds,
I feel happy that in spite of our shaky start to the season we are just 2 points behind the leaders. I fear what would happen when we get into our groove.  cool shocked

Can't believe this thread still alive.

Greatness in football is mostly defined by the number, dominance and quality of  trophies won .That's why though the magyars and the Czechs were dreaded in the 50s and 60's they may not be considered in the same breadth as a Uruguay who were also dreaded then but came out with memorable trophies.

Arsenal no doubt are a great side in England and respected(not feared) in Europe. But when it comes to COMPARISON with Man U then they are on a lower pedestal. Using the same criterion Man U will also be on a lower pedestal to Liverpool(for now grin grin )

It remains to be seen if this most recent success story can be sustained without him.
