Today comes the opportunity to win the league. If we win today and results go our way tomorrow then it's over. But first we need to win today.

SAF needs to raise the spirit of the boys after the low of Wednesday. There's a real chance to win the League today and we must lift ourselves. It can be done and how sweet can it be against City.

@Kitaun,
What's sounds pathetic about admitting defeat  huh when indeed you have been beaten.

I release titles I feel will be a personal/commercial success. We don't go to the studios simply because some critics think it's time for new titles. If you are desperate for  titles however just be patient you will see blockbuster titles soon. Working on a duet with Muki grin grin grin

Nothing will change the fact that we lost . So even if you say it 1 zillion times we lost we lost.

@MK,
Dry titles. Your producers will be taken to court for flouting financial regulations. EFCC has been contacted and they have gone underground.They are looking for you too. grin grin

@Loyika,let me respond to some of your brief comments as 'briefly' as I can. grin

1.The fact that you said we were an embarrassment shows you obviously believed we are a great side and expected a lot better. Shit happens

2.Do not insinuate for one minute that your tots or the agberos are a better side or might have done better. That is in the realm of conjecture and not fit for discussion by serious analysts . The fact that Brazil lost scandalously to France 3-0 does not now mean the likes of Croatia or England are better teams or might have done better. Possible but it's neither here nor there. In any case Brazil came back in 02 to correct that faux pas by reaching the finals again and winning. Enough said.

Loyiks, and still on point 2, I remember your 'trophy' when you beat us in January. While you were busy celebrating your 'Cup' we learnt from our mistakes and moved on. We have chosen to learn from this and hopefully we will be better for it .

As for the treble I secretly wished it but never declared we will win it(my posts are there to confirm). It is much more complicated than that and many who scream it(double,treble,quadruple) know little or nothing about it. However, they are entitled to their opinions.

See, many of your guys only wish Man U to win the league cos of Chelsea, not for footballing reasons. Wenga now thinks SAF is manager of the year not only out of common sense or love  but also to spite The Lip. You might probably support Milan not necessarily cos of their good football but so that the obviously wide gap between you and Pool in virtually all comps does not totally disappear. Indeed if you support the Pool then you see them as a lesser evil to Chesshit or MU at least on the current level of influence domestically.So if some MU guys are thinking the same what's your own. huh

Bad defeat? yes, but our season is far from over .We still have the little matter of a premiership to win and maybe an FA Cup as well so our attention is focussed on that for now.  grin grin

Sometimes you get lucky when you play badly , yesterday we were not.

This is the first game we will be conceding 3 goals  this season and we could not even score. . .it was that bad. But it's now in the record books so ain't nothing we can do about it. lipsrsealed

There will be an inquest alright but the first thing like Rikky said is to unleash venom on City. That is now the MOST IMPORTANT match of our season.

@Reds,
Accept my compliments on the way we have taken this defeat. Painful as it naturally would be our manager players and we fans have displayed exemplary maturity in conceding defeat to a side that was undoubtedly superior on the night. This does NOT make us weaker but stronger. Some others should learn something from this. cool

The die is cast . The great run has come to an end and it was an anti-climax. Except for the AIG jersey that team did not play like a Manchester United side.

We did not play well but that must not be construed to mean Milan did not . Wherever we erred they excelled. We allowed their stars space, they closed in on ours. We lost possession in midfield, they took possession in our attack, our passing(the beauty of our game) was woeful, theirs sweet, our hard men played like ajebos theirs were on drugs(that's a compliment).

Our defence? Again we lost the plot. We knew that was our problem and today it showed. Silly errors. Today was not our day. We lost and played badly as well.

Our big guys did not rise up to the occasion quickly. Giggsy and Scholsey were asleep in the 1st half. When Scholes woke up in the second half he was mostly alone. Rooney was left to the wolves. Baba did not make early changes and on and on and on . . ,   .

Hey,Milan deserved their victory because they knew what they needed to do to win . We did too but maybe the occasion just overwhelmed some of our boys , just maybe.

Enough tears. We have learnt this lesson. We would be better for it I assure you.

We still have a premiership to win which is the most important for us this season, then the FA Cup which was 3rd in order of priority. If we win both our season will still be successful.

Cheer up guys!

@Razorr,

I don't think they belittle you guys. It's just that many of you come across as arrogant(come across I said) and that's the reaction to be expected.They also feel quite a few of you know next to nothing about Chelsea or even footie and just blow hot air. (Razorr secretly I know you must be fed up with some of them) cry

They also do not like the arrogance of your manager . tongue

They do not demean your league wins only that the noise by your 'Fans' really can be sickening . Especially considering that others have won so much more. They also react because in spite of your wins your football is not attractive to watch . Football is about winning but good football makes winning more compelling.That is fact.

If all these were reduced/removed the beef would be less I assure you.

@Razorr,
His comments are factual but the intent is not noble . He is trying to belittle Pool's victory couched in diplomatese. His comments would have been better if he could see the learning for Chelsea going forward without necessarily belittling the efforts of others. In any case did Arsenal or Liverpool really want to come 3rd or 4th in the League. I don't think so. They just collapsed at a time they should not have and started playing catch up . . . .which is what Chelsea has done as well for a while now.

@Razorr,
My condolences. Glad to see you back. Please don't miss any of your medication grin grin
Your quote from John Smith grin grin made interesting reading. Interesting because when defeat comes you need to move on . The healing process has begun for you and the good thing is that many of your 'fans' and  "The Special Lip" can now begin to think before they talk.

I however must tackle you on a few points .

1.If you choose to run for all 4 competitions that's your headache . You admitted that you have the cutting edge players so it was a sensible decision right? However , if your definition of a remarkable season is the likelihood of ending the season with the least prestigious of the 4 then maybe at last there's immense hope for Chelsea  grin grin grin

2.If you do not want the game to end in penalties you can win it. You had all of 180 minutes to do it. In fact you were the beneficiary of a doubtful goal reversal. You played without spirit and still wanted to win. All you needed to do was score 1 goal . You couldn't. Whose fault?
Liverpool came back from 0-3 down in one of the most breathtaking finals . They clawed back their way in what to all intents was MISSION IMPOSSIBLE . That was against Milan a better team by far . Saying they just won on penalties is trying to be clever by half.

3.That games that end in stalemates will be decided on pens is known to all teams and if a manager knowing how tight games at that level are decides to train his wards for that eventuality others who choose not to and lose as a result should add that to their learnings, not point out their shortcoming of not preparing for any eventuality which top class managers and teams are generally expected to do

4. Mr Smith should keep his suggestions to himself.Liverpool has a board like Chelsea and if they choose again to focus only on the Champions League that is their headache. Face yours grin grin

Both managers have indicated that there will likely be goals and the key will be the control of the game.Somehow I think the defenders on both sides will be the heroes of the game. They've got to be with the quality of both sides upfront .

Gattuso's in Maldini's out.

Vidic and Rio are travelling  but not very sure if they'd play.Any other team news?

Great night for football. Why?

I've never seen a so many neutrals jubilate over the loss of a team.Goons,Reds and most  neutrals wanted Pool to win.Chelshit did not deserve to win this game and deserve nobody's sympathy. The quadruple seems to have evaporated in one week and people will now begin to dream responsibly grin grin

Jose Mourinho is a loud mouth with no self respect for himself or others. Chelsea 'fans'who think otherwise need to ask why they are the only ones who respect Mourinho for anything other than his football management abilities. While Ronaldo may not have gone to school I doubt if Mourinho has displayed the comportment or maturity of one who has.

From today I cease to speak about his silly comments as they dignify what is unbecoming. Chelsea has more enemies than friends today and it has nothing to do with their football just their manager. Mourinho runs his mouth too stupidly to be a world class manager. As a world class manager you must also manage your mouth. I know he is suffering from youthful exhubrance and a few trophyless seasons will tame his loud mouth. He is the premiership's  version of our own Godwin Uwua.

You can be great and still be liked,these are not mutually exclusive but this chap thinks they are. So let's leave him to his delusions.
@All,
He should not concede the title.In fact even if Man U wins the next 3 matches Chelshit can still win the prem cos they can borrow points from the previous 2 seasons . Silly sod.

Eagles stumbled slightly before scoring(he was unmarked).That is an indication of the massive pressure these guys are under. It is a great evidence of the strength of their character at this time.

We got the result we needed a win ,the hard way but a sensational win. When you win the trophy you look back at games like this and say I KNEW IT.

Heard the Lip thinks Neville did his bro and Baba a favour by scoring the own goal else why did he try clearing with his right.  huh Keeper is also Giggs cousin. Man U's posts in the first half was 3 inches short that's why the 2nd minute effort hit the bar, bla bla bla. grin grin grin

Don't be surprised. Neva count your chics before hatching .

I said you will lose at least 6 points in the run-in after West Ham . . .you have lost your first 2. Each game you play will be a Cup final . Same as us but maybe we've done just enough to nick it. You will be playing with an eye on UCL and will not concentrate fully. Arsenal,Everton,Manchester United? I don't envy you. You guys simply looked out of ideas today.
This was my view after Newcastle.huh Today you have dropped another 2.You will drop a minimum of 2 more points and a maximum of  huh. grin grin

Heard The Lip said Neville scored the own goal for 2 reasons 1)to say thanks for all Sir Alex did for him while in Man U , 2) a get well soon gesture for his brother. grin grin grin Also he insists the keeper is a distant relation of Giggs. grin grin grin

Congrats guys. A bit early but the trophy looks like it's coming back home. If we beat City and they don't win their next game  Chelshit must do a guard of honour for us at the bridge. Only in soap operas do we see such scripts cool

It was a nerve wracking game but we all knew all our games will be Cup finals so I was not surprised.What thrilled me was the self belief,the reserve, the resolve, the knowledge that until the fat lady sings it ain't over. As I keep saying Baba's initial selection was dodgy(maybe with Milan in mind) but he seemed to get it right. Today as for the last few ties we have done it the hard way. Today surely we have wrapped up the league and need at most 4 points including the game against Chelsea to win the League.

Everton came to neutralise,hassle and score.Playing that for 90 minutes against MU was not going to be easy and they lost steam in the second half.When Beattie was brought in I screamed halleluya cos I knew if the hopes was on him they would neva score. We scored 2 subsequently and they stopped scoring. lipsrsealed

It's however,not over until it's over but it sure looks like that NOW.  cheesy

I await The Lip's rants.  grin

Now we can face Milan without any worries about the League.What a fantastic position to be in. cool
