tunde1200:I was wondering when am I going to read a rational and sincere perspective to what led to Arik's demise, not some old regurgitated nonsense some of other posters are putting up there. It is obvious even to the blind that Arik's Management is the sole reason why the company went down. Chief Arumeni Ikhide to me just went into a business he had no capacity to run. Pray tell, how do expect an Air line that is marked with characteristics unbecoming of a sane business to survive. As far back as 2010, Arik's services had been terrible. Delayed flights, sometimes international flight get delayed in excess of 24hrs. Arik had the habit of purposefully delaying early morning local flight till around 11 or 3.pm. I remember in 2011, I was in Benin Airport for 7hrs, waitng to board an Arik flight. If my memory serves me right the flight was supposed to be around 9, then they kept adding an hour to it till around 12. Can you imagine, that it was around 12 that an official came to address us, and what was the excuse? ".....due to operational reasons". My college wanted to beat up the official. We were scheduled for a 2pm meeting in Lagos, yet we left Benin at 3.30pm. If you looked into the antecedents of Nigeria businesses and why they are not sustainable, the same old trend plays itself - Corruption from top-bottom, irresponsible leadership, lack of foresight(they don't know they are in a marathon and not a sprint race), negative attitude of leaders and workers....and many more For those of you blaming the present govt/PMB for Arik's demise, your idiocy has just reached a higher octane level. Was it Buhari that plunged Arik into the level of Debt they found themselves in? Was it PMB that caused Arik's services to be so bad that passengers luggage was siezed in New York for 2 weeks (kept in the open) for Arik's debt to freight company? Was it PMB that caused Arik to default so badly on local loan that the local bank had to seek for an Amcon take-over? Some of you, your education is not only a waste, but your undoing, i.e. you would have been more manageable as crass illiterates. |
Lanretoye:are the air crafts going to fly? |
LockDown69:Bros, It is not good to demonstrate illiteracy, even if you have it..... 1. Why was the road repaired? Because Abuja Airport run-way had been neglected since it was built and needed a total overhaul. So the Airport had to be closed to fix it; thus the diversion to Kaduna Airport. 2. Consequently Kaduna Airport and the Kaduna-Abuja road in question are upgraded How someone will rationalise this any other way is beyond bewilderment. I find it shocking that a man in his senses will accuse this govt of deliberately neglected the road and roads? Are you on some substance? |
Segun Odegbami many years canvassed that the problem with the local league is not for want of talent......that talent are so much in abundance. One of the reasons he gave for our poor local league is the state of our football pitch. When I watched the replay of that match, I couldn't believe my eyes that I was watching a game played in Agege Stadium............If our football is well managed as a business (as it is supposed to) we will churn out fantastic players, profitable league and overall good football. Meanwhile Bobby Clement's(Enugu Rangers) goal was also fantastic - a "premiershipesque". Some of these players needs look-in in some of the SE friendly games, Bobby Clement for me deserves a call-up |
rawpadgin:Well, your question was presented with a tone of insult in the first place, so you also need to take some maturity-chill-pillnell4: :u are a disgrace to Catholic Church & Christianity @ large |
Catholic Folks!!! you want to "monopolise" Lent here shey? We no go allow you PROUDLY ANGLICAN ![]() |
jrusky:1. APC promised to rid the country of corruption - Smuggling = Corruption 2. A very sensible govt will not kill the market it hopes to enable, by allowing such market to be filled with smuggled rice. 3. I notice that you can't spell. Did APC inflict that on you as well? |
nagoma:Shey?ShootToKill: :Are criminals celebrated in the SW as well? |
Nukualofa:If going by your account, this is what Peter Obi's complaint is about (i.e. smuggled Rice), then that makes him an irresponsible citizen...... |
Vickiweezy:This is when you just talk limited information and reasoning. 1. I was in secondary school circa late 80s and early 90s. I was @ FGC later transfered to Lagos 2. I studied Igbo JSS classes 1 & 2 in Lagos 3. I studied Hausa in JSS 1 @ FGC So tell me again how they are dividing you? |
Olargee:Slow down with your needless rant jare!!! Were you ever told that University education is a spoon-feeding venture? You have no business in a University if you had no line of sight to source(s) of funds for something as basic as school fees |
kilokeys:simply find out |
greenermodels:...So "high handedness" of the school's management is what is preventing the student from paying their school fees? You better wake up to reality, cos in this case nobody will plead their cases. If you want the school to be sustainable, if you want it churn out responsible and decent citizens, then a simple engagement contract (payment of school fees for learning received) should be respected. If you know economy is really bad, then what business do you have being in school? |
My father bought a 1970 "B" from a Brazilian Reverend Father who left Nigeria. We use that car so tey, we transfered it down the sibbling line. My brother used it and when he left the country passed it to my Sister, who also did same; was given to her in her early days of marriage. She returned it when her family moved abroad as well. It was briefly with my immediate senior brother, then me.....and that is where the story begins I so rocked that "Beetle" like crazy especially during the JAMB days and early Uni days. I remember I always had a star screw-driver, sand-paper and an extra contact-set in my glove compartment. |
olaezebala:Perspective! I know the history very well. 1. These so called Tailors were not "in jobs" if uniforms is what you refer to, pre-Omoluabi garment factory 2. If the uniforms the students wore before now were that decent, Osun students should have been models to other state schools. 3. I think my perspective is that Aregbesola's administration created a "Blue Ocean"; a new market space, where there was virtually no organised form of market. Many families in the past travel abroad and shop for "school uniforms" in Super & Hyper Marts. Why? simply becos uniforms have been standardised and some coys play in that market. Later some Nigerians brought this concept home. I remember when we used to buy school uniform in a place at Ikeja GRA. This coy fed/feeds like 10 top schools back then. 4. Sam & Sarah had been reputable player in the Uniform segment of the market, especially schools and corporate uniforms. They had to muscle out Chinese importers. Funnily enough, Sam & Sarah's are from Ife and had alliance to the Late Ooni (a sworn enemy to Aregbesola) yet Aregbesola partnered with them 5. Another perspective - Is it not better for the tailors to be under Sam & Sarah's wings and play in an organised market, where volumes are guaranteed? If resellers can have as low as 10% down payment, is that not a convenient entry barrier? |
fotadmowmend:......how can you be so twisted? "gaining from it even without govt intervention...." yet govt has injected another N900m. Is it that you don't or can't read? |
jr4u2:too late...... @anonimi sounds patently stupid many at times, regurgitating old fables and out of context |
Lifestone:While many are not his fan, you cannot but applaud his uncanny gusto for innovation that benefits the state. If this factory has survived the first five years and it's still waxing stronger, it tells us something Aregbesola saw 5years ago. Imagine, this space would have been taken by Chinese, who will sell substandard stuffs at exorbitant rates. Love him or hate him, one thing is sure - Osun is no more a mere "civil servant" state |
anonimi:Your sense of humour is low then..... |
anonimi:..and you two fools can only imagine that govt bonds is to "pay" for medical bills? Why is the size of your reasoning capacity shrinking by the daydgr8truth: :Truth wickedly wrapped up in comedy. |
shortgun:Nigerians should be wary of lazy posters who can't spell......not to talk of capacity to comprehend |
OBAGADAFFI:Govt. Bonds is one of the safest investments. Check your books |
bullabong:Humour me. How do you "resell" Govt Bonds? |
eezeribe:First off, be nice to the guy. He's was trying to have a decent and intelligent conversation. Secondly, just as the guy said, Robert Kiyosaki is NOT an academic, NOR a financial authority. He's JUST a guy that sold "glittering" principle to millions of people, many of which turned out not to be sustainable. He himself declared bankruptcy (either for smarts or for failure) |
megrimor:Why would thunder fire empowerment? Do you prefer laziness |
ivandragon:Ok. I also missed out to acknowledge that importation of Rice is banned only thru the land boarders |
farouk2much:Nope! it is that "thing" under - the "tool of havoc"JideAmuGiaka: :you are rygt my guy |
Toks2008:......and do you succeed in "escaping" them? ![]() |
obailala:Bros, I conveniently left Vanguard out of my list. A newspaper that reported a lie and later apologised, claiming that their source is from a WhatsApp message.....deserves no credible mention |
ITbomb:Fantastic point! Much more what if we can connect a face captured on camera to a database via a face recognition system to see those people inciting and involved in the voilence? |
