Can you share with us how the:

a) 3 Senators
b) 10 Representatives

from Lagos state in NASS dealt with this alleged federal impediment at the legislative level?
Assuming that your story is not false, GEJ would still be a venerable Saint compared to Buhari who cancelled Jakande's metro line in 1984 after jailing the poor man and paying breach of contract fines in a depressed economy.
As for Tinubu and Obasanjo on Enron barge scandal, they were simply playing politics with their foolish fellow citizens. Are they not waving their APC broom together now?
Open up to the reality, bro.
Don't let yourself be deceived any longer.
1. The story is not false. GEJ even stalled giving the guarantee on the world bank loan at a stage in this current project during the Fashola regime. But I trust as a GEJ blind desciple, google is not your friend http://www.nigerianeye.com/2012/11/federal-govt-stopped-world-bank-from.html
2. For someone to see GEJ as a venerable saint opens up another dimension of corruption. Is yours a spiritual side? wink

This single issue is a major impediment. Reminds me how GEJ played politics with the Lagos Metro Rail Red Line.

Investors were ready with over 1 billion dollars to invest for the construction of the Red Line from Lagos to Ogun state, but GEJ refused to approve the Iddo station right off way which frustrated the investors till they eventually gave up...

Funny enough, Lagos state started this Metro Rail dream over 30 years ago, they broke ground and stationed heavy equipment in Yaba and even paid millions of dollars which the state lost after the FG refused to guarantee the loan and forex for the projects and this was done by the same PMB as the head of state.

Same way OBJ frustrated Tinubu's 271MW IPP which was the 1st IPP in Nigeria. Imagine Lagos state today without FG's bad bele, lack of vision and foresight and crass tribalism. I see many more Metro rail and fully developed rail system in Lagos state without that shameful and anti progress intervention by the FG 30 years ago and even Lagos state with many more IPPs today if not for the same shortsighted FG bad bele and frustration.

The only silver lining is the fact that Lagos state did not give up on their Metro rail dream, they just picked the right time to dust off their plans and resume work on the same project 30 years later..

Lagos state is not short of good and visionary leaders, the problem is always the FG.
That's the real money maker: projected to ferry over 2 million passengers (N200-N500m) or more, a day.

This country will never progress until we change all of them 1950/1960s laws; from power to rail, procurement, and e.t.c. -- phewww!
I think Ogun State signed a rail agreement with the Chinese. Trust Fashola and Amechi will clear the blockage and allow the project to go through.

Like ice always been advocating, states should push for a sort of regional high speed rail network. Finance won't be a problem ie states/world bank/AfDB and even private investors so its not much of an excuse. The only thing that stands in the way now is the railway corporation being under the FG but I believe legislation can be amended for the greater good of the country. Once again, great development
I believe there is a national blueprint in place in which all states are connected by high speed rail. It's a long-term project which probably won't be completed till 2035 earliest.
There is also a South-West regional blueprint, a part of which to connect most of the major South-west cities by rail.

The CJN is retiring next month honourably after he must habve attained the mandatory retirement age of 70!!! I don't see what is ignoble in that. The president will never have the powers to remove the CJN
Bros,

I am not talking about Buhari removing the CJN, much more when he's about to retire. I am talking about the fact that the CJN will exit with the stain that he headed a Judiciary that was utterly corrupt and had to be cleaned. Worse still the CJN is flip-flopping and not taking a stand. Such an act will put him in bad light even in retirement, especially after the accused judges are put through trial and overwhelming and "unfaultable" evidences are presented in court to nail them.

The credibility of the JCN is already at rock bottom, with various groups (excluding the executive) coming out to accuse them of covering their "colleagues" despite weighty allegations in the past. Lawyers are coming out and asking the "corrupt" judges to be prosecuted. The Nigerian Bar Association has also demanded the accused judges step down and have their day in court. The JCN under the CJN will find itself alone, and powerless in the future if they take the failed path of seeking to protect these judges.

The CJN will be remembered not only as a morally weak leader, but as someone who headed a corrupt body

This is what will happen should NJC refuse to suspend those judges.

1. The judges will be arraigned in court irrespective of no suspension. No law says they can't be arranged.

2. The Judiciary will be further rubbished and lose further credibility in the eyes of Nigerians.

3. Nigerians will pressure the CJN/NJC to suspend those judges to at least bring some credibility back to the bench.
Let me add that the CJN will also exit ignobly

intelligent granite...

1. since EFCC knew the owner(s) of the account, why lay a bait or trap? to what end & purpose since they already froze the account, was the point of seeking to detain the owner? a person the EFCC can pick up at anytime.Obviously you do not know the meaning of "Post NO Debit", Neither do you know the implication of establishing and validating evidence........ I guess to you EFCC will establish evidence in court based on they "know the owners"

2. so because FFK is under investigation by EFCC, he & his family members lose all rights to operate a bank account? See crap reasoning. Who says they have no right to operate a bank account? Did the EFCC tell you that? Has either FFK or you two lap dogs (Fayose & yourself) defended why FFK's BVN is tied to that account. I guess you don't know that when FFK's being investigated, his BVN will be "called" up and all accounts the BVN is linked to is flagged. why are you making something simply comprehensible look like rocket science........I must admit you need to enroll at the school of "basics studies"

you harass people for keeping money in their houses & also harass them for keeping money in the bank?

is the plan to starve the family to death?

"Harass people for keeping money in their houses?" Ok, you are sounding ridiculous. Your moral compass must be so faulty. Why will law enforcement be after these of they were innocent
3. a toddler knows that with the current banking system, accounts are linked & there is no hiding place for transactions, whether they are carried out in a space station bank or a hole in the ground bank. so its kind of 'funny' to state that they were trying to hide anything. accounts are linked? without BVN? Oh! Like Access bank should have known FFK's baby-mama and automatically linked them

4. Fayose is who he is. I won't be dragged into his matter.

so how does your statement negate the fact that the EFCC knew the owner(s) of the account?

like I said, you are entitled to your own interpretation of events.
OMG!!!!! why are you making this issue "rock-bottom-Intelligent"huhhuh??

1. That the EFCC knew the owner(s) of the account was never in doubt and is a needless assertion.........
2. The EFCC actually laid a bait, i.e. to ascertain that "baby-mama's" account was indeed part of the shadow account FFK wanted to use to secretly move money.
3. His "slush-courrier" (Baby-mama) [as has been with many of his past "lady-escapades] was now sent to Ekiti to try see if EFCC's gaze is not far reaching.
4. It is either FFK is stew.pid, or not too smart. How on earth will he not Imagine that his account or that of anyone connected to him will not be under watch? The only "smart" thing he probably calculated was that if "yawa gassed" home-boy Fayose will do the dirty work to "clean-up"

& you are being myopic & economical with the truth.

if you had taken time to read the statement of the EFCC, they obviously knew the operator(s) of that account, had access to them & could have at anytime, detained them.

you may wish to twist issues to sooth your narrow objectives, but kindly limit your ignorance to yourself.
OK, Let's see "myopia" & "truth-economics"

Giving the commission’s side of the story, Uwujaren said “Contrary to the media spin about the purported arrest of mother and child, a certain Chikwendu Sonia today attempted to withdraw money from an Access Bank account that had been placed on 'Post No Debit' Category, following the discovery of illicit cash flows into the account.
1. Unfortunately I had not taken time to read the EFCC statement with your frame of thinking. In fact, I can never do that
2. Stop showing how ignorant you are. An account placed under "Post No Debit" means there is a trigger placed on the account, so that the moment someone tries to withdraw from it, an alert is automatically generated and most likely with instructions to detain the "withdrawer" and contact the law enforcement agents.
3. In the case of FFK's baby mama/wife, she attempted to withdraw from such an account, whether it belongs to her or not.

So let me address your funny, yet dumb questions/statements

they obviously knew the operator(s) of that account, had access to them & could have at anytime, detained them.
1. The account was established to have been linked in transactions to other accounts involved in EFCC's investigation. Obviously they will be "monitoring" the account in addition to others under watch, to establish the case in investigation
2. You want them to make arbitrary arrest and detention without evidence that the account is active and in use during the period by the person?........talk about someone who is "unmyopic" & always" straightening the truth"

FFK claimed the account had just 200k & has never had more than 500k at a time, you do realize it's verifiable? Records of transactions exists... EFCC does not have stations in banks, for them to be there, the bank invited them, which means something was triggered!!

security agencies freeze bank accounts so that withdrawals can not be made...

that's the major essence of freezing an account among other things.

so since the account had been frozen, there was really no point in attempting to detain the woman especially as she was the owner of the account.

she should have being asked to contact EFCC if she had issues with her account being frozen.

those trying to justify this obviously despicable act are wrong.
This is you demonstrating basic level of ignorance.

Bankers will tell you that if an account is "frozen" and "flagged", they are expected to contact law enforcement agencies (as directed in the flagging of the account) once anybody shows up to collect the monies.
