Dear Loj, I can only tell you the mind of God and the way He wants to save people today. It's not my duty to reason out why He chose that way. I don't save people, neither does any man. So if we mortals begin to reason out ways of this and that with God we keep going on circles and end up perishing. This is one of the ways atheists are born - trying to make sense of God's ways instead of accepting God's way that He has already provided. Are we to follow our own logic to be saved or God's way to be saved? God has provided a way already through His only begotten Son Jesus: the belief that Jesus died for your sins, he was buried and God raised him from the dead back to life for your salvation. This is God's own logic. Since you cant even save yourself not to talk of saving others why not accept God's logic and reasoning? You have nothing to lose dear precious soul but everything to gain - eternal life. God bless you.

Dear Loj, the Gospel of Christ by which we are saved under the dispensation of grace today is to believe that Jesus died for your sins, he was buried and God raised him up from the dead (1 Cor 15:1-4). This is the only power of God I know that saves people 100% of the time today (Rom 1:16). Amen.

1. It's not possible for God to give us a gift and collect it back no matter what. If God should collect it back, which is impossible, then it's not a gift in the first place.

In 1 Corinthians 2:12 we read... Now we have received not the spirit of the world but the spirit of God; that we might know the things that are FREELY GIVEN to us of God.
Why do we have the spirit of God? It's to make us aware of the free gifts we have in Christ like the gift of righteousness, sanctification, justification, redemption, including eternal life, etc etc all in Christ (1 Cor 1:30).
When we believe that Jesus shed his blood for us, he died and buried and God raised him up from the dead we are saved and sealed by the Holy Spirit and immediately we have all these and more as gifts in Christ Jesus. That's why we go to church to learn these things and grow. There's no other reason why we should gather than knowing our gifts in Christ and if we dont know then respectfully ask your church leader(s) about these gifts in Christ. Remember, it's FREELY GIVEN. FREELY GIVEN IS FREELY GIVEN.

God's grace means Gift. But there are different kinds of gifts. Most gifts of men come with "Terms and Conditions Apply" one way or the other but that's not so with the gifts of God. Paul made sure to differentiate between God's gifts from all other gifts when he qualified God's gift with the adjective "free". (Rom 5:15,16).

Man HAD a sin problem but no more. Why? Because of these gifts in Christ:
For the wages of sin is death....(now that's bad news...but wait! the Good news is that)....the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ..(Rom 6:23).
Eternal life is a gift only in Christ and if eternal life could be cut short by any means then its not eternal life God gave to us in the first place.

Paul made a distinction between grace (gift) and works in Romans 11:6 kjv:
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Verse 29 of Romans 6 reaffirms the confidence and assurance of God's gift:
29 For the gifts and calling of God is without repentance.
God as God can't change His mind about the gifts He has given you in Christ. That's why He's God.

2. The sin that takes people to hell is the sin of unbelief.
John 3:18,36; 1 John 5:9-12; John 16:8,9; etc. etc. Please be sure to look these verses up.

In Hebrew 3:7-19 the writer was using the example of what happened to the Israelites when they were about to enter the promised land and God was not happy with many of them and many died not seing, not to talk of to enter the promised land. Why? Because of the sin of Unbelief. See verses 18,19.

So for us today sin is no longer the issue because of what Jesus has done: his death, burial and resurrection for salvation (1 Cor 15:1-4).

Nobody needs to be in unbelief today for God is forever satisfied with the sacrifice of His Son:
2 Cor 5:19,21
...19 to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, NOT imputing their trespasses unto them: and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.....
21 For God hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be the righteousness of God in him.

Dear Loj, like I said before, God Himself decided to chose the way He will save man today by believing he gave up His own Son Jesus to die on our behalf, he was buried and God raised him up the third day for our justification before His sight.

You see, if someone is willing to pay for your debt - any debt, and you refuse the payment, you are only left with the choice of paying that debt yourself.

Sin is that debt and the wages of sin is death - eternal death. Would you rather prefer you pay this debt by yourself? Or you would let somebody that's capable to pay for you? Can you pay for the debt of your sins by yourself? What would you do and not do to pay these huge debt? No man can ever pay this debt himself. If it were possible for any man to pay then the death of Jesus to die for the sins of the world is for nothing. But this is exactly what Jesus came to do for all men: to die for the sins of all men and God raised him up the third as a proof that all who believes in him will also be raised back to life on the resurrection day.

Like I said you have nothing to lose by believing only in his death, burial and resurrection to be saved but you have all to gain - life from the dead on that day.

We all could reason out how God should have done it one way or the other, you know to make look logical and very sensible. That's how come we have different denominations today. But God's way is the only way. There's no other way. Jesus as a gift from God is the way....

@ analice107, another gospel is teaching or preaching that believing in the works of Jesus: his death, burial and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) alone cannot save us but we must do certain other good works in addition to be saved. Usually these good works we must do to be saved according to those who preach it vary depending on the denomination one finds oneself. I'm yet to find a works church that would give their complete list of dos and don'ts to make heaven. Even if they exist, that is another gospel which Paul in Galatians 1:6,7 says it's not a gospel at all.

Works for salvation has been the bane of the church and even in the time of Paul some people has started distorting the pure Gospel of Christ by mixing it with all manner of laws. It's not new. Paul vehemently warned the Galatian Church of deviating away from the simplicity of the gospel into another gospel. You may read the book of Galatians in a simpler version like NLT to get the full gist. However, salvation today is faith in Jesus plus nothing. In Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
You may also read it in NLT. Supporting verses: (Romans 4:4-5; Romans 1:16; Romans 11:6 kjv; Galatians 2:16,21; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21)

We didn't make this up on our own but we only tell about what God is doing today through his only begotten Son. God has already spoken about the Messiah long time ago and was fulfilled in Jesus.

5 But he was wounded for OUR transgression, he was bruised for OUR iniquities: the chastisement of OUR peace was upon him; and with his stripes WE are healed.

Please accept this free gift of salvation today for God has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Cor 5:21). This God's own divine exchange. He chose to save people like that today and not by our own way. This is God's way.

Again, For Christ also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God...(1 Peter 3:18). This is God's own divine justice of the Federal Court of Heaven.

✞ DANGER – Another Gospel

The Apostle Paul warned in the
strongest possible terms about the attitude of God toward those who would pervert or distort the

Mankind has an eternal destiny of
condemnation and wrath because

what good works one might do we are still found sinners in the sight of our Creator God.

It is for this reason of not being
able to create our own
righteousness and being born in a
sinful state that we need a savior
(Titus3:5).

Christ is our Savior, God manifested in the flesh, sinless, shed his blood, died in our place on a cross and rose from the tomb 3 days later.

It is through Jesus bloodshed,
burial, and resurrection on our
behalf that we are able to have
peace with God and forgiveness of

Well written article. We need more of this in these times. When I hear or read something from someone that have (receivd) the fullness of grace from our Lord Jesus Christ I easily recognise them. Please keep up the good work. We are blessed.

In the beginning, man was created in God's own image and man was to live forever with God in fellowship. But when Adam sinned, Judgment came upon all of us to hell fire (condemnation). This was when we, all born of a man and a woman, inevitably missed heaven and needed salvation. Adam's one sin brought the penalty of death to many:
'The sin of this one man, Adam, caused death (hell fire) to be king overall, .... Rom 5:17a TLB.
'Yes, Adam's sin brought punishment to all .... Rom 5:18a TLB.
'Everyone dies because all of us are related to Adam. Being members of his sinful race and wherever there is sin, death results ... 1 Cor 15:22a' TLB.
Why Was Everyone Of Us Going To Hell?
'Because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God' Rom 3:23. And then,
'The wages of sin is death... Rom 6:23a. We see now that everyone was going to hell fire not because of their own actions or evil deeds but because of one act of disobedience by Adam. We were all going to hell fire because of our nature not because of our actions. Sin is first a nature before it manifests as actions . God is angry with man because of his nature not actually because of what he has done.
'...by our very nature we were subject to God's anger just like everyone else. Eph 2:3b NLT.
So What Must A Man Do To Be Saved?
He needs another nature - God's own nature which was first in Adam. To receive this nature is by birth i.e. man must be BORN AGAIN. This was exactly what Jesus Christ told Nicodemus,
'Verily, verily, I say unto thee except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. Jn 3:3.
And How Can A Man Be Born Again?
JUST BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christ and you are born of God.
'But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.' Jn 1:12.
'Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. 1 Jn 5:1a.
Everyone born of God (BORN AGAIN) shall see the kingdom of God and is saved from hell and shall not come into condemnation.
'For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jn 3:16.
'He that believeth on him is not condemned.... Jn 3:18a.
'Verily verily I say unto you, he that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation: but is passd from death to life. Jn 5:24.
The only people who will now go to hell or rather remain in condemnatn are those who are not born again i.e. Those that refuse to believe in Jesus.
'...but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God. Jn 3:18b.
'He that believeth on the son hath everlasting life, and he that believeth not the son shall not see life but (by his very nature) the wrath of God abideth on him. Jn 3:36'
Eternal life (Heaven) is a gift by one man, Jesus Christ.
...the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom 6:23b.
'God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you cannot take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Eph 2:8,9 NLT.
And this gift is received by
'believe in your heart that God hath raised Jesus Christ from the dead and then confess Jesus as your Lord. Rom 10:9.
This gift is given to anyone irrespective of your religion, denominatn, race, tribe or weakness.
'For there is no difference. For the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'
So How Many People Will God Save?
Paul answered this question saying:
'I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to save everyone that believes. Rom 1:16.
Therefore, God will save everyone that believes in Jesus Christ.

There is a great difference between a gift and a reward. "A gift" is what a man receives free of charge while "a reward" is what a man receives after work. A gift is undeserved while a reward is deserved or earned. Whatever a man worked for cannot be a gift but a reward.
"When people work, their wages are not a gift but something they have earned." (Rom 4: 4 NLT).
A gift is given by grace while a reward is given by works/good works/good deeds. These are two different things. Therefore, grace and works cannot receive one thing at the same time. It is either by grace or by works.
"And if by grace, then is it no more of work: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of work, then is it no more of grace: otherwise work is no more work. (Rom. 11: 6).
I want to share with you those things that are "freely given" to us by God through Jesus Christ and I trust the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of your understanding to "receive them by faith" in Jesus Christ. Amen. (1 Cor. 2: 12).

Ur sista is very correct. However a christian that does not have good works/deeds at all will lose his rewards when Jesus comes back again (1 Cor 3: 8, 10-15). There's a great diff between a gift n a reward (Rom 4: 4,5). Salvation/eternal life/righteousness is a Gift u get by believing in Christ (John 1:12; 3:16,36; 5:24 etc)and not a reward. These gifts can never b lost (John 10:26-29). U cannot be unborn of GOD! Christians should stop carnal thinking. Jesus said, Behold I come quickly and my reward (not gift) is with me to give everyone according to his work (not faith) shall be. (Rev 22: 12). Thanx.
