QNET Warns Of Fraudulent Use Of Corporate Foundation’s Name In Nigeria QNET, a global lifestyle and wellness-focused direct-selling company, has recently become aware of fraudulent activities being carried out in the name of its CSR arm, RYTHM Foundation. An individual had set up an office in Port Harcourt in the name of the RYTHM Foundation and was using online ads offering jobs in the foundation. The incident came to light when a job seeker who had contacted the individual about the job was asked to pay a fee to secure it. Suspicion prompted the job seeker to verify the ad’s legitimacy by contacting the Foundation directly. QNET promptly reported the incident to relevant authorities, which led to the arrest of the perpetrator. The matter is currently under investigation. QNET is deeply troubled by the impersonation of the RYTHM Foundation for illicit activities, including fake job offers and other deceptive practices. RYTHM Foundation, QNET, and any of our affiliate companies are not associated with these activities and disavow any connection with the perpetrators. The company is committed to collaborating with authorities to apprehend fraudsters. QNET warns the public to be vigilant and verify information before engaging in any such commitments.QNET and any of its other affiliated companies do not offer jobs in exchange for a fee. The company urges the public to report any such job ads via the WhatsApp compliance hotline for Sub-Saharan African markets at +233256630005. QNET remains dedicated to empowering individuals through life-enhancing products and micro-entrepreneurship opportunities. The company has undertaken educational and public awareness initiatives such as establishing the Direct Selling Disinformation Centre (DSDC) and launching the “Social Awareness Campaign” and “Say No! Awareness Campaign” to protect individuals from scams. QNET is a legitimate business present in over 25 countries worldwide, not just in West Africa. It is important to identify the legitimate QNET so you are sure who you are dealing with to avoid falling victim to these scams. One can always contact QNET directly on their website and be aware of signs pointing towards fraud or a scam, such as earning through recruiting people, job offers with ridiculous benefits, etc., knowing these will help reduce these scam incidents. youngblaq: |
In today's competitive job market, scammers are becoming more sophisticated, making it essential to stay vigilant. These scammers know that Nigerians just want a better and easier life; they prey on these needs and goals to dupe innocent, unsuspecting people. However, as much as the search for a better life is important, it is crucial to guard oneself against these scams. First and most importantly, learn to identify that request for an upfront fee for a job is a big walking red flag. Also, vague job descriptions, unprofessional communication, and promises of unrealistic benefits - are signs that point toward a job scam. So next time you get a supposed job offer with these characteristics, it's best to get away from it as soon as possible. Also, conduct more research about the company or organisation offering the job. We can empower one another to stay safe and protect ourselves from falling victim to these deceitful schemes. So, stay informed and pursue genuine employment opportunities. |
I love reading novels. I'm there with that book as long as it has an intriguing storyline. So I’m always looking for new novels, especially African novels, to read. Lately, I’ve read quite a number of novels by Nigerian authors, and our present authors are vibrant and pushing the boundaries of African literature. I believe that being part of a digital age, they’ve been able to experiment with new ways of storytelling. The novels always address difficult issues that are not discussed enough in society. Please share some relatively new Nigerian novels you recommend, I’m looking to expand my library. |
Pyramid schemes are already rigged against people, but I don’t think the QNET you mentioned is the legit QNET company, which is a global company that operates in over 100 countries and offers different products, including health and wellness, and home appliances. In direct selling, individuals can make money by selling products directly to consumers and earn commissions on sales made by other people they recruit to join their team. |
The Smart Money Woman book series is simply a book full of gems; the financial nuggets I’ve gotten from the books are what you won’t even be taught in school. It has helped me see that being financially literate is important, and I’m glad some initiatives in Nigeria are financially educating the youth; we need it. One of the important things I learnt from the book was that saving is very important regardless of how little you earn. This means being able to put some money aside for future use while also making sure you have enough to cover your daily expenses. For example, if you earn a small income, you can still save some money by cutting back on unnecessary expenses such as buying expensive clothes or eating out at restaurants. Instead, you can prepare your meals at home, use public transportation instead of owning a car, and shop for deals and discounts. Another way to save money is to set financial goals and create a budget that prioritises your needs and wants. Setting a specific amount of money aside each month allows you to gradually build up your savings and achieve your financial goals, such as purchasing a home or starting a small business. Saving money when the one you earn isn’t even enough to cover your daily expenses is very hard, no lies, but it can pay off in the long run. |

Have you seen the news going about QNET disassociating themselves from anything related to scams? I believe that they doing that shows they are aware of these fake jobs and scams and are letting the public know that it does not have anything to do with them. A company that is allegedly a scam will not put out an announcement inviting the public to reach them, would they? owiko: |
I joined this forum recently, and one of the very first posts I came across was related to QNET. I have read posts and comments about the legitimacy and illegitimacy of QNET and the business opportunity it offers. And honestly, I had doubts about them because there are so many incidents and similar experiences recounted from individuals on social media about the fake jobs and how they’re just a Ponzi scheme. I’m an entrepreneur, and their direct selling business model is a great way to earn money as an entrepreneur. But how do I earn with them if I keep seeing news that they can’t be trusted? So I did further research to clear my doubts. Now imagine my joy when I came across the information that QNET launched a Direct Selling Disinformation Centre last year. On this website, the negativity and disinformation about direct selling and even QNET can be addressed. I could understand from visiting the Direct Selling Disinformation Centre site that it was made to tackle misinformation and put direct selling as a legitimate business opportunity with stakeholders in the government and regulators. The website has live incident reporting, allowing you to raise a red flag from anywhere in the world — especially if you feel QNET’s services, products, and opportunities sound sketchy. With this website, new and existing distributors will understand the international regulations and ethics the direct selling industry upholds. What impressed me the most is that the company plans to make this centre available to other companies involved in the direct selling industry in the long run. I believe this website will reduce the likelihood of one falling prey to fraud schemes in the company’s name. So next time you receive a ‘job offer’ in the name of QNET, just visit the website to clarify. |
Can you please share your experience so we can learn from it and see if QNET, indeed, are criminal? stevups: |
2023 barely started, and I’ve just been seeing and reading about cases of fraud and scams in the guise of job offers. In as much as it is a despicable thing for these fraudsters to keep doing, I also feel we can protect ourselves and escape falling prey to such acts; after all, Heaven helps those who help themselves, so why should we make it easy for them to get their way with innocent victims? No one is immune to being a victim of fraud schemes, but if we conduct the proper research and make the correct findings, we protect ourselves to a great extent. For example, if we are offered a job, like the posts about QNET I’ve seen here, the first thing should be to inquire from those making the offer specific questions like, What is the company's name? Where are they located? What are their official social media accounts? What kinds of products do they sell? Best believe that if these questions were asked by these people who unfortunately were victims of this fraud, the majority of them would not have been unfortunate. Most importantly, Google is always there to save the day; I just typed QNET on google, and I got a direct link to the website, which has a disclaimer as the greeting message when you access the website. Visiting the company’s official website could've helped them avoid this regrettable incident because most company’s websites have a disclaimer highlighting sketchy schemes that could be carried out in its name. I hope this helps others learn from their mistakes and take steps to avoid making the same respect. |
But, guy, QNET is not even relevant to this post; it is neither a pharmaceutical nor recruitment company, so you being so sure that they are the company being referred to here isn’t correct. If you had done your research on google correctly, you’d know this. I’m sorry you were almost duped, but it doesn’t mean it was QNET. next time rather than using the name of a legitimate company, say something like ‘people who use the name of Qnet’. Go through this link for further information https://www.qbuzz.qnet.net/rumours-controversies-and-is-it-a-scam-question/ thebar: |
It's not too late to say Merry Christmas and Happy New year is it? These past few days, I tried disconnecting from social media and enjoying the moment with my family and loved ones. I did take pictures; how else would I have memories if I had nothing to remind me of them? The break from social media helped me see how much of life we miss when we're glued to these social media handles; the people walking in Lagos always busy and so in a hurry, the laughter of your loved ones, the mischievous acts and smiles of the little ones, life is beautiful. I could connect in a way I never had with my family and my! it felt so good. This year I will take many social media breaks, enjoy life, and, most importantly, mentally recharge myself. Happy new year, beautiful humans!! |
I'd like to know how adoption works in Nigeria. It's more than just saying, "oh, I've adopted this child"; there is a lot of paperwork and procedures that go into the process. First of all, as long as the parents are still alive you can't just adopt, the parents would have to hand over guardianship to you, that's a lot of court work which will take weeks and months. Except she has done all these before publicising the news. Or she has not done anything but has simply taken the girl as hers and is taking care of her financial needs but has no legal binding with her. I am open to corrections though, I might be mistaken. nwekeugochukwu: |
Love is indeed beautiful, especially with the right person who has the same goals, values, and beliefs as you do. Congratulations to them, I pray they last forever Omicronvaccine: |
Definitely researching more about a business venture before going into it is quite important. Imagine the fraudulent cases that can be avoided if proper findings are carried out. Christabelnwa: |
Na real turn around. At one point I forgot he was an artiste. After his hit single "Your waist", he just fell off. [quote author=Newsmic post=119168749]Popular Nigerian singer, Iyanya has revealed how his fortune changed for the better in one year, IGBERETV reports.
