I will not engage someone that thinks he understands what he does not understand.

Who are the Mujahadins and who are the Talibans?

It is like you are here to attack every statement which is good anyway if you know what you are discussing.

Take your time and enjoy.
You know what's really entertaining? It's that you like to come across as though you know what you're talking about but, in reliaty you have no clue.

For those who want to know the actual history and not make believe:
The Mujahadeen (that fought the Soviets and their proxy government in Kabul) fought a civil war against the Taleban. The Taleban movement began in 1994 from southern Afghanistan long after the Soviets had left and the Mujahadeen had split into different factions fighting each other for control of Afghanistan.

OBJ should go home period, he's the true meaning of greedy, selfish, vindictive, childish, unprofessional, corruption and so on.
I give credit to Atiku for keeping it cool and hanging in there for all these months with this ungrateful, vindictive, unprofessional, bad example leader.

There is nothing Atiku has done that OBJ hasn't done 20 times.

Check the record and face the fact.

Britain
The once young and hansome Blair is getting old and wornout, he prefers to lecture his own people about al qaeda and terrorism, yet his people are not listening, they want him out. I guess his criminal support of any illegal war in Iraq paved the way for his political downfall.
The once young and handsome blair is now older and as such with the streeses of managing a country also looks older than his age. The people pushing for his exit are not the British public but memebers of the labour party that support his rival Gordon Brown (Chancellor of the Exchecker). Get your facts straight.

Afam:
Pakistan
The president rightly accused the West of supporting the Taliban during the time the fought the Soviets and maintained that the US foreign policy helped in encouraging the taliban to use Pakistan, his homeland. Though a general, I respect the man so much for standing on the side of truth. 2 years ago he stated that the world could work towards peace first by tackling the Palestinian problem.
Everyone knows the West supported Alquada and what was known as the Mujahadeen AND NOT THE Taliban in their fight against the Soviets.

Afam:
Iran,
The PM of Iraq visited Iran (even after 8 years of bitter war) and may foster a healthy relationship that will see the US influence reduced to a very low level.
Highly improbable. Time will tell though.

Afam:
Israel,
The PM has agreed to meet PLO president without conditions. Strange but true and of course remains the best route to finding lasting peace in the middle east.
The Israelis had always delt with the PLO president. It is Hamas which currently controls the government and which refuses to accept Israel as a nation that is the problem and the current obstacle to peace.

Afam:
Palestine
Same as the last comment with Abbas agreeing to meet with Olmert without conditions.
Indeed. but as news agencies reported this morning, most people have greeted this news with a yawn as Abbas does not control the government and so cannot enforce any peace deals reached. Once again, It is up to Hamas to recognise Israel as a country otherwise the palestinians will continue to suffer until the next elections or they remove Hamas by other civilian resistance methods. The seeds of which we are beginning to see with the palestianian police joining in protests against the Hamas PM.

Afam:
Lebanon
Report has it that a prisoner exchange deal is in the offing.
Who says that we can not have peace in the middle east if the players are fair to one another?
Good news but, you seem not to still grasp the cause of the recent war in Lebanon and why the Lebanese remain weary of peace. It is because the majority of lebanese and israelis know that the will be no peace without Hezbolla being disarmed.

Interesting times do lie ahead indeed.

Seun:
You cannot trace scammers via their IP address because most ISPs use dynamic IP addresses. Each time you connect, you get a different IP address. Ironically, The only ISPs that use fixed IP addresses are those that serve cyber-cafes.

So you need extra software to link the ip address to a phone number. Even then, can someone trace you with your phone number?
But it is not the EFCC that will actually make the trace. All they will need is evidence showing an IP address has been used to send a fradulent email for example. Usually, the EFCC would then obtain a court order that forces the ISP (through their logs) to identify the number, address, and name of the account that used the IP address.

In the fight against the international terrorist threat in Indonesia, one man has become an invaluable ally. Nasir Abbas explains why, after men he trained carried out the Bali bombing in 2002, he decided to change sides.
Computers › Re: EFCC Ban On Night Browsing In Cyber-cafes by Mariory(m): 9:12am On Sep 13, 2006
I think the point is, if scammers are forced to use a home connection, then it is far easier to trace them via their IP address. I believe this is a short term solution which might work to an extent.

@Davidlylan & Mariory,

If Mr A occupies country B and the people of country B decides not to complain, it's their choice (referencing the 29yrs occupation stated).

Now, the people of country be have the right to complain if Mr C occupies their land.
Yet I have shown you links that show that there are widespread anti-syrian activists in lebanon. You hardly ever hear of them except when one of them is murdered. When Israel defends itself and moves into Southern Lebanon which is almost an independent region to the rest of Lebanon (thanks to Hezbolla and the absense of any form of Government control), the Arab media kicks into propaganda overdrive and you see it all over the news. And evidently, you buy it hook, line and sinker.

Divert attention from what? What's the thread about? You are the one, toghether with a couple of others that have turned this into a discussion of US politics.

Talk about corner, what corner? If you cannot make clear statements then you can continue to list links for those that have time to follow them.
Yeah I understand it must be difficult to argue with cold hard facts. Unlike you that just argues without showing proof, I argue and show the facts to back up my arguements while you come up with lame excuses to why you don't show where and how you come up with information. Click the links dude, expand your mind, actually do some research for information, you'll find that it's better to see where you're going then run around in the dark.

@Mariory,

And your point is?

It seems you are at a loss as to what my post was all about. Yes, I think about all the innocent people that are murdered in cold blood regardless of the country or people concerned. Can you honestly say the same about you? I very much doubt it.
Don't even try to wheasle out of that corner. The actual part of your post my own post was refrencing is the following.

Afam:
Maybe diverting the real issues has become a chosen path by some of us since the situation on ground is now supporting our views that the killing of innocent ones by a group or country is wrong regardless of where the killing is taking place.

CNN was full of news concerning the 5th anniversary of 911 and some of the victims families were shown on TV, but I ask, who remembers the thousands of people that have been killed in Iraq since the illegal invasion of that country based on lies by Bush (Kaecy5, you may take this to be one of those bad foreign policies of the US)?

Who takes time to even give some of these people decent burials let alone doing memorial service for them?

Are the people in the middle east not human beings that every single innocent death should be condemned?

For those that have conscience, we may begin now to search it and let the grandstanding give way to common sense and let us be bold to condemn what is condemnable while commending what is commendable.
You know very well what you ment there.

Don't use that patronising attitude. No one is saying lives of Arabs doesn't matter. Do you want to go there and give them a burial? How many times have you remebered North koreans that are murdered publicly for wanting demorcracy? How many times have you remembered Iraqs that die in their tens and hundreads every week (now in the tens of thousands and rising) from suicide bombers? How many times have you remembered citizens of Afghanistan when they are now being murdered by suicide bombers from the Taleban? How many times have you remembered Pakistanis (in one case an Islamic cleric was beheaded) murdered for not supporting Fanatical Islam? How many times did you remember the people that died in the terrorists bombing of trains in Span? How many times did you remember the people that died in the terrorists attacks in London? How many times have you remembered Indians that died in terrorists attacks in India? How many times did you remmeber people that died in the terorist bombing of clubs in Bali?

Also according to Osama Bin Ladens speech, Nigeria will be next on the list after the Middle East. Start preparing the excuses for any attack they carry out in Nigeria. Blaming it on US policies is getting old and repetitive.

Reproduced from another discussion forum, a response to post on 63% of Israelis wanting their PM out.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Syria and Iran have both since claimed joint victory against Israel, along with Hezbollah, and have pledged to continue the conflict until Israel has been wiped from the map.

Hezbollah has demonstrated that total Arab defeat is not inevitable – and with this demonstration, Israel has lost its tremendous psychological advantage.

If Hezbollah could hold the mighty Israeli juggernaut at bay, then the possibility that Israel could finally and decisively be wiped from the map of the Middle East by another pan-Arab army is once again, feasible.

Hezbollah has emerged as a massive political force. Syria, marginalized in recent years, has re-emerged as a regional player as Hezbollah's patron. Hezbollah's victory represents a victory for Iran and the Shia. Hezbollah, a Shiite force, has done what others could not do.

This will certainly result in both Jordan and Egypt rethinking their own assumptions about the viability of another war of annihilation against Israel. In a sense, the Arabs have little to lose by taking the risk.

If they win, they will have succeeded in reclaiming their lost honor in previous conflicts, with the added bonus of having rid the world of the Jews, And if they lose, they can once again count on the U.N. imposing a cease-fire in time for them to remain intact and viable.

The worst danger revealed in this war is the new majority attitude of the Israelis that is reflected in the government leaders under Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
For the first time, Israeli leadership so restricted the military leadership, that they were not able to mobilize the size of ground force needed to defeat a well-trained and heavily fortified army. Because of concern about world opinion, they so restricted the general’s freedom of attack strategy that there was confusion in the ranks on the field. This is the deadliest revelation of this war. In all of Israel’s past wars, they have fought with tactical audacity and the immediate all-out commitment of manpower and weaponry against the enemy. They used the “blitzkrieg” or “lightening war” strategy.

In this war, they gradually committed troops, piecemeal, with a day-by-day revision of strategy. This ultimately resulted in strategic hesitation and confusion.
The worst possible consequence is that Hezbollah has claimed Israel is no longer invincible on the battlefield.

This is exactly the outcome that both Damascus and Tehran had been hoping for, although they certainly didn't expect it. But now that it is a reality, Golda's words echo with haunting clarity. "The Arabs can fight, and lose, and return to fight another day. Israel can only lose once."

Let us pray that Israel has learned a vital lesson before it is too late.Olmert should indeed be the most unpopular figure in Israel at this time. The present appeasement minded government has sacrificed Israel's myth on the altar of public opinion.Someone like Binyamin Netanyahu will be remembered with nostalgia, Oh! how Israel NEEDS his mettle at this time!!!
This is the exact same rubbish they said in the 70's and 80's when Isreal withdrew from Lebanon and Jordan those times. Then it was the PLO. Now it's Hezbolla. And in the 70's and 80's Israel was still at war with Egypt, Syria and Jordan. They also rejoiced then, saying Harafat was the destroyer of Israel. We all know how that ended.

Same rubbish different century. Let Mr Hezbolla try again. He's seen hiding behind the civilian population won't save him. Let him try again if he's got the balls.

Please see the post before yours as regards Mrs Arafat as it does not make sense for someone to convert to islam and still attand mass and baptized the only daughter between herself and the leader of the PLO.
See my post about being a devout muslim.

Afam:
@Mariory,

No sir, the statement is false because I have a friend that married a christain and the woman never converted and they are very happy with their marriage.
That has absolutely no bearing on the fact that it is written in the quoran that she must convert.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by Mariory(m): 4:27pm On Sep 08, 2006

@ Mariory, amongst Christians, when a non Catholic wants to marry a Catholic, Catholic law states that the non-Catholic must either convert, or the children should be baptised Catholic. In most patriachal societies (like Nigeria for example) the wife usually takes on the husband's faith.
Peharps. That is Catholisim though. It is not a virtue for christains to live by though because it is not written in the bible. Unlike the situation in Islam. This is besides the point anyway. I was merely stating that david was indeed right in his assertion that all non-muslim women must convert to marry a muslim.

@Mariory,

Thanks for pointing that out but in reality I hardly ever use the search engine to find information as most of my statements come from information that have come my way by way of Tv, books, news.

The issue of Mrs Arafat come to the fore when late Arafat was hospitalized and a CNN program did a profile on the PLO leader, that was when I even knew Arafat had a christain wife (the report/documentary never said anything about converting to islam).

Even the post you pasted only stated that she married Arafat and converted to islam and yet on the same article we are told that her home was decorated with pictures of Jesus Christ and Pope.

So, why would a muslim decorate her homes with such pictures.
The point is not weather she is a devote Muslim or not. The point I was making is that she had to convert to Islam to marry him.

Afam:
On the same documentary, Arafat's sitting room had pictures of Jesus Christ.

My point is that even if we attempt to look at the issues as coming from pure religion what would a PLO leader be doing with pictures of Jesus Christ in his sitting room?

I hope you understand that I am not here to win debate at all cost so will ever remain open to corrections when they are indeed corrections.

On a lighter note, did you travel? As you never contributed anything when we decided to make progress by asking simple yet valid questions but suddenly surfaced to inform us that she converted to isalm, just wondering.

Again, I have read the article you referenced and will try to compare notes with one or more sources just to be certain I am not following a wrong direction on this.
It is important to note that Jesus Christ is accepted as powerful prophet and messenger from God in Islam. Just because a picture of Jesus is in his living room does not mean he's tolerant of christianity. This is a man whose organisation fought babaric battles with Christain militias in Lebanon during the civil war in that country.

It's not about winning. For too long people have been buying into the propaganda being spewed forth from anti-semitists and islamists. This is now about laying out the facts so that those people can begin to think "outside the box".
People need to start seeing the truth of the Middle East Tradegy (A small group of fanaticals keeping a whole people in poverty so they can wage holy war on another set of people).

Raised a Catholic in Ramallah and Nablus, Mrs Arafat left to study at the Sorbonne in Paris.

Her father was a banker and her mother is a high-profile Palestinian journalist, Reemonda Tawil.

It was through her mother that the future Mrs Arafat met her husband.

After their introduction, Suha moved to Tunis to work for him with the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) in exile.

She converted to Islam and they wed in 1990, when she was in her late 20s and he was already in his 60s.

From 1517-1917 Turkey's Ottoman Empire controlled a vast Arab empire, a portion of which is today Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine. During World War I (1914-1918), Turkey supported Germany. When Germany was defeated, so were the Turks. In 1916 control of the southern portion of their Ottoman Empire was "mandated" to France and Britain under the Sykes-Picot Agreement, which divided the Arab region into zones of influence. Lebanon and Syria were assigned (mandated) to France, and "Palestine" (today's Jordan, Israel and "West Bank"wink was mandated to Great Britain.

Because no other peoples had ever established a national homeland in "Palestine" since the Jews had done it 2,000 years before, the British "looked favorably" upon the creation of a Jewish National Homeland throughout ALL of Palestine. The Jews had already begun mass immigration into Palestine in the 1880's in an effort to rid the land of swamps and malaria and prepare for the rebirth of Israel. This Jewish effort to revitalize the land attracted an equally large immigration of Arabs from neighboring areas who were drawn by employment opportunities and healthier living conditions. There was never any attempt to "rid" the area of what few Arabs there or those Arab masses that immigrated into this area along with the Jews!
