Afam:Ignoring irrelevant ranting, What was your basis of then saying demorcracy is giving way to things that are immoral? Of course in comparison with other government systems? |
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061127/ap_on_re_mi_ea/israel_olmert -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the response from terrorists http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20061129/wl_mideast_afp/mideastconflict_061129104124 http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20061128/wl_mideast_afp/mideastconflictgaza_061128205758 Like we have been trying to get you self confessed "politically correct" people to understand. Terrorists have no interest in peace and you cannot expect a country to just sit back and do nothing but offer themselves as sacrifice in the name of peace. The same peace that in the eyes of terrorists means that country ceases to exist. |
Easyy:http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/communism ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Afam:And what makes you think non-democratic societies are moral? Don't be so naive. A very immoral person can also seize power (several examples of such people in Africa in the past decade) and do what he likes. The difference with democracy is that you will have a say in whether someone you disagree with stays in power. You folks are forgetting that no one is saying democracy is perfect. What is being said is that it is the best form of government whatever your ideas or beliefs. |
Easyy:That's exactly what I mean. |
Also make sure you are prepared to produce N50 should such identification be asked for. |
Easyy:Of course. However, as previously stated, it is the best form of government there is. Peharps in a perfect world, where we had perfect humans, free from corruption, greed, insanity, or other potentially dangerous human emotions, then idealogies like communisim can work. But you and I know better. ![]() |
lewa:Exactly! Let the scratching of heads begin in an attempt to answer this question. |
Have you visited the web sites of human right campaigners? You hear about China more because it is a much larger country and has more infleunce internationally. For example, this just out. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061128/ap_on_re_af/nigeria_rape |
shango:China hasn't proved anything yet. The only thing it's proved is that you have to be on good terms with West for your economy to grow. When China achieves economic prosperity it will have to be democratic. More developed economy => more educated citizens => more people having access to outside world => more citizens requiring greater freedoms. This is the reason why you currently cannot even view any web pages with the word 'democracy' from inside China. The government are not stupid. They know that to hang on to power they have to restrict as much knowlegde from the population as possible. It's inevitable that China will have to switch to be a democracy. This process has already begun. It's on record that protests in China over lack of human rights which you hardly hear about because of government censorship is increasing exponentially every year. |
And those are the so called "achievements" of atiku you're comparing to what duke has achieved? Are you insane? |
Reading some of the reasons in this thread on why Atiku should be the next president, I think shows why Nigeria takes one step foward and ten steps back. It's almost as though so many Nigerians are forever to be used as fools by a select few. One can only logically conclude that some Nigerians like or are addicted to suffering. |
Don't worry. When this tool becomes popular. We will start to see the real China. Not the one the heavily censored Chinese media presents. |
shango:Your post and link is irrelevant. I could have done a search and posted links myself. I can come up dates that go far further back than the 19th century in your links. Why must I go into basics to make you understand. It is not about type of corruption. It is about which country is more corrupt. Of course corruption exists in the west as it does everywhere. Even in exetremely religious societies that claim to be at the highest morality level known to man. Fact is kid, that for years Nigerian society has come to believe corruption is normal part of life. And majority of Nigerians have participated in it. From the simple N50 given to policemen on the streets to higher level corruption. Nigerians attitude is, if I don't do it, someone else will. Or if I don't give the police money, I could end up dead. This is not the case in the west. This is elementary. If you cannot understand this, then oh dear. |
shango:Where is your evidence of this. There have been more documented coups in Nigeria than that accused against America. But that's both out opinions as I don't have facts to back that up right now and I'm not interesting in compiling such facts. So before we go off topic, I'll just ask you one simple question. Would you have the confidence to ask an American policeman to accept money in order to let you walk for a crime you commited (stealing for example)? Or to a customs officer at an American airport that discovers you with banned substances that requires you be detained. Suffice to say you would easily suggest the same to their Nigerian counterparts. |
trendy:^ ^ LMFAO. It's so funny because it's so unbelievably untrue. |
@Big B1 When IBB is being hung up by his balls, I'll come here to find you. |
There are conflicting reports at the time of posting but, a Brtish hostage is confirmed dead. 2 militants confirmed dead, several captured. Sepculation as to wheater 1 military personnel was killed during the rescue attempt. The remaining hostages are confirmed to have been rescued. 1 is confirmed injured. Speculation as to the seriousness of his injury. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/6172546.stm http://today.reuters.com/news/articleinvesting.aspx?view=CN&storyID=2006-11-22T212527Z_01_L22882934_RTRIDST_0_NIGERIA-HOSTAGES-UPDATE-7-PICTURE.XML&rpc=66&type=qcna http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061122/ap_on_re_af/nigeria_oil_unrest http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/11/22/news/delta.php |
Where did you get that piece of news? |
That's not true. There's Virgin Nigeria, Aero, and Arik air. |
Ofcourse. Why else would anyone support someone like Babangida to be president? |
Use good airlines if you want to travel by air |
Yep pretty much. The opposition has no other way of capturing the attention of Nigerians than to claim third term. |
funloving:Even with the EFCC site displaying that they are indeed mandated to investigate acts of terrorism, you continue to argue? http://www.efccnigeria.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=36&Itemid=70 Have you been through training with the EFCC that you now know what type of equipment or expertise they have? |
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/6169606.stm http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061121/ap_on_re_mi_ea/lebanon_minister_shot Another Lebanon civil war in the making? |
Before you point fingers and call others unintelligent or ignorant, you should be sure you know what you're talking about. http://www.efccnigeria.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=91&Itemid=90 Last time I checked, attempting to smuggle explosives onto a plane is classed as terrorism. |
Bolarge:LOL ![]() |

What has this got to do with politics? |
