IVORY2009: Militocracy is highly recommended, an average African leader is very corrupt, the military has a way of putting the in place disciplinary measures to tackle corruption, which the civilian administration can not do. Abacha and the rest incorruptible military officers come to mind. |

laivwire: I had to jump on your comment.
First, if you're exporting commercially, we are not talking about small quantities, we're talking bags and possibly tonnes of good quality stuff. The European market is quite strict on things like this.
2. Except you are a PR or have become a citizen, you can't run business in these countries...in literal terms, you can't move around hawking your food to African stores because you wont even be able to import (refer to point 1). Even if you manage to import and get caught, you will be punished. Other africans who have struggled to build their businesses won't want to jeopardize their business over a few earnings or they risk it and pay you stipends (Africans are good at exploiting).
3. Way forward is to liaise with a commercial/licensed exporter. Good luck sealing the deal with them because they will pay you in Naira not USD. The profits belong to the middlemen.
Can't say though, maybe you have a trader uncle can piggyback on
4. Last point/Disclaimer: I've not done thorough research nor dealt business in this sphere. What I've listed above is based on my brief encounters with stakeholders on both endss of the food chain. You earned my respect with your fourth point |

Use spices, coriander, bay leaf, scent leaf, thyme, tumeric, ginger, cloves, ground fish parts and crayfish, onion, garlic, these can substitute maggi.
Substitute for salt? I don't know, maybe you'll have to get used to going saltless or very minimal salt. Funny thing is that after a while,, your taste buds will adjust.

Lovechyld101: You got it all right till you said they are higher then police. after the military in Nigeria the next command is the police they are everywhere and there mandate covers everywhere counter insurgence, anti bomb squad, border Patrol, airport, seaport you name it. The NSCDC is a Corps and not even a para military so they are on par with FRSC and the likes the Police is a Force and part of the Arm forces Read my comment again. I said they're higher than regular Police in terms of training and duty. It's only those special units just like ctu, Mopol and the others that are at par with them. And yes, I still maintain what I said that they're paramilitary just like Mopol, counter terrorism and the others because they perform military duties as well while not being under the armed forces and no, the police is not a part of the armed forces, only those under the armed forces act are armed forces and they're Army, Navy and air force, the Police is under the Police Act. |
Politics › Re: Camouflage Uniform For NSCDC Evidence Of Ongoing Rebranding By CG, Says Group by mariovito(m): 2:47pm On Nov 23, 2023 |
IamAtikulate: I support you.
But I think they are too under-trained and comfortable to be turned into our Marine. Nigeria don't even need the Marine Corp. It's the U.S expeditionary force and we don't have interest in fighting in foreign lands, except for peace keeping missions.
I believe the nation will benefit greatly security wise if Mr Tinubu transforms them into National Guard, and modelled after the United States'.
There is no way we can defeat BH, IPOB Terrorists and Fulani terrorists without a National Guard equivalent. We should stop over stretching our Army. On being undertrained, I think it all boils down to the role they are assigned to play, bigger responsibility calls for bigger preparations. I like the Idea of a national Guard. Do you think a national Guard will be the game changer in our fight against insurgency and the other insecurities you mentioned? Seeing that most of them like BKHT have political undertones and sabotage from within the Nigerian government? |
Politics › Re: Camouflage Uniform For NSCDC Evidence Of Ongoing Rebranding By CG, Says Group by mariovito(m): 2:43pm On Nov 23, 2023 |
BigDawsNet: I think if the Nigerian military wants to form a Marine... they will have to select them from the Navy...
The marines and navy personnel are very similar and they share same training from day 1...
Nscdc is only paramilitary I agree that the Marine should be under the department of the Navy, but their training is far from regular naval training, they're more infantry than naval. Just like the Army has both frog men and airmen, the Air force have infantry men and Naval men, and Navy have been infantry and airmen, the Marine is like an amalgamation of all three into one. Some one commented that they could be used as National Guard and that makes sense. |

HeatSeeker: Is this a joke or something?! Camouflage for ordinary security guards? They should stop trying to be funny. Lol. You actually underestimate the NSCDC. Are you aware that they get assigned samee duty as the army in the Niger Delta area because of their mandate? Their mandate includes protection off National infrastructure of which crude oil pipeline is among, these guys follow army dey fight militants o. If there are areas in the north where there duty mandates, they'll be drafted to fight Boko Haram, they're a para military organization, higher than your regular Police, the only arm of police that can match them is the Mopol and some special units, dey pass your regular Police. |
Romance › Re: Nigerian Women Are Not Too Old At 33 - Man Criticizes Double Standard by mariovito(m): 1:12pm On Nov 23, 2023 |
Those marriages to older Caucasian women, how long do they last? They're usually a means to an end. But you can't say the same about marrying a Nigerian gal. Marriage to Nigerian gal is usually intended as a life long venture while to the Caucasian women is usually short time. So why will I marry an old Nigerian lady for an long term relationship? SweetBuns: They all avoid the older women because the older women are more Informed so they can see their nonsense when they start it from 10 miles away and check them appropriately
Older women are also more jaded, so the silly invaluable things they use to trick a younger girl can't work on them. The boys are incapable of bringing up something that is truly valuable so it frustrates them
Older women are not for boys who don't know what they want. Serious men only. But the problem is that those serious men also want young maidens with less wahala |

Christians and Jews don't agree,

I hope this does not radicalize them.
The NSCDC has some of the best uniforms and dresses among the services, I even think they should be upgraded into a fourth arm of the forces maybe like Marines or something.
Modified Someone below mentioned National Guard and that sounds like a good idea. |
