Politics › Re: FG Files Contempt Proceeding Against NLC, TUC Over Protests by mariovito(m):
Lol.

All this is initial jigripokri.

Nothing but hot air.

An order of that nature made pursuant to an exparte application is usually for a very short time, usually between 7 and 14 days within which time a motion on notice must be fixed and heard.

An exparte application is one where the applicant does not notify the person against whom the order is sought.

This raises the question of fair heading because you can't make such decision without hearing the other side but under certain circumstances, these type of one sided applications can be granted but subject to an application on notice where the other Party is notified to come put in his defence to the application if he has one.

This order being brandished by the FG was made over two months ago within which time the motion on notice should have been heard and they failed to do so.

An order made on motion ex-parte shall last for only 14 days after the party affected by the order has applied for the order to be varied or discharged, or last for another fourteen (14) days after application to vary or discharge it had been concluded. Where a motion to vary or discharge an ex-parte order is not taken within fourteen (14) days of its being filed, the ex-parte order shall automatically lapse.

All NLC needs to do is file a fundamental rights enforcement action against the Federal government stopping them from harassing, arresting or impeding and contravening their rights to peaceful assembly and protest moreso as there is no existing valid order to base their hounding on.

What this move by the Federal government shows is that they're not sincere in their meeting with labour or in there postured language that they're seeking peace because if they were, they would not stoop low to this under hand dealing.

Last week was the DSS, now this.

Seems the FG has a penchant for abuse of court process.

That TikTok wey be drug?

Depression about to hit the younger generation of Senegalese.

Will this approach be counter productive?

One way to find out, only time knows, only time will tell.

There seems to be an uprising going on in Africa.

The millennials seem to be done taking the bullshit of the baby boomers.

And if millennials do not get it right, they'll be in for a big challenge from the Gen Zs who are even less tolerant.

Thomas Sankara is back!

Nigeria is the true land of opportunities and opportunists.

Even a convicted felon can become president.

By APC argument, a person convicted of a crime in a foreign country and deported to Nigeria will be Scott free to go home.

I ran a home test this morning with Oraquick HIV self test and it came negative.

I actually bought this test kit since last year but never thought to use it

But recently, I've engaged in quite risky ventures so I thought to verify and I'm happy.

Abstinence or condom usage seems too difficult and it gets worse as the day goes by.

There was a time I wouldn't even go raw with my girlfriend but now I go raw with random gals.

Though that has stopped now.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Niger Coup Leaders Prohibit Citizens From Using Social Media by mariovito(m): 11:16am On Jul 31, 2023
While this submission looks attractively true, I will beg to differ to some extent.

Check most European nations, with the exception of USA and a few others, they're homogeneous or have one tribe being in over 70% majority. England for the English, France for the French, Ireland for Irish and so on. Asia is even tighter, but coming to Africa, what we have are ever boiling and broiling mess of a pot-pourri.

How can there be democracy and unity of purpose when Congo is made up of tribes that can't see each other eye to eye? Or is it Rwanda or Nigeria?

Before Africa can move forward with through democracy or any other means, two things need to happen.

The error of Berlin conference of 1884 needs to be corrected by subdividing Africa into smaller tribal countries for cohesion and unity or on the alternative, Africans need to lose their tribal identity (which is quite impossible).

EyeCumInPiece:
Bitter truth is that Democracy is for Oyibo and not for Africans. We are still too crude and primitive for Democracy.
