DEIFIED: This was thesame thing I experience three days after I bought my Redmi 9c. it was the security app that cause it too. it made me lost most of my files from my old phones. I had to do hard reset and start all over. I have avoided that security app like plague since then. I think it's a big in their latest update. just avoid that security app next time, your phone will be fine
Yeah, I've been using it all day and it's been good so far. I even messed around with the Security App in the morning to confirm whether it was really the problem and surprisingly nothing happened.
I'll avoid the app going forward sha. If I experience the bug again I'll have to find the time to return the phone now that it's still fresh in my hands.
mathefaro: I suggested returning because its still fresh and it may be even more difficult to return after you unlock bootloader. Sieve through genius' post on this thread for the link to the latest full Rom for Note 9s and the guidelines to follow.
I got the Redmi Note 9S yesterday and I'm currently experiencing a very frustrating bug. A message saying "find device has unexpectedly closed" will flash across my the bottom of screen and then the phone will reboot itself. When I unlock it again, the message will appear again and the phone will reboot itself making the phone unusable.
When it happened the first time I didn't know what triggered it but I did a factory reset on the phone and updated the os to miui 12. I was able to use the phone for hours without any problems but this morning when I opened the Security App it happened again. And I had to do another hard reset losing all my data in the process once again.
I've reported the issue but I don't know whether they'll address it. I looked online and I saw that some other xiaomi phone users have been experiencing this as well.
Zeroenochone: Go to the Xiaomi thread try to get a screenshot of that issue when it happens again or use another phone to snap it along with your 'about device' section I'll help you check online if it's a general problem that can be fixed, there's no way you'll buy a phone of 98k and I'll tell you to manage it
If it's too disturbing you might have to return it I'll get back to you later
RubiesBanking: Very first time of hearing about this bug
Can you shed more light?
It's basically what I said in my post. The message flashes at the bottom of my screen then it reboots immediately, and it continues like that until I do a factory reset on the phone. The second time it happened was when I opened the Security app. I have no idea what triggered it the first time.
It seems the Find Device and Security apps are connected somehow and as they're both system apps I can't just disable them to fix the problem.
I've reported the issue but I have no idea if they'll actually help me. Right now I'm using the phone without setting it up completely because it could happen again and I don't want to waste my time and data with another factory reset.
Zeroenochone: No no no no no Although there's an unofficial repair centre called rayya care or something Parts aren't expensive, they are just normal of you try to order it online, the real issue you may face with repairing a Xiaomi is trying to find parts for it locally, they are not officially present here in Nigeria and Xiaomi parts are scarce because of that.
And as for the screen, their screens usually come with gorilla glass 5 protection I personally watched a video of someone testing the screen of a Redmi note 8 by dropping it from 6 feet repeatedly onto a paved road
It survived all the drops but some parts on the edges were crumbling off but the screen itself remained intact So their screens can take a lot of beating before it breaks
There's even a thread here o. Nairaland or a Redmi note 8 that dropped from the eight floor of a building and only the touch screen was shatted the display itself remained intact but the entire face of the phone was pretty cracked
I got the phone yesterday and I'm currently experiencing a very frustrating bug. A message saying "find device has unexpectedly closed" will flash across my screen and then the phone will reboot itself. When I unlock it again, it repeats itself making the phone unusable. When it happened the first time, I did a factory reset on the phone and updated the os to miui 12. I was able to use the phone for hours without any problems but it has started again this morning. Do you have any idea how I can fix it. This is really annoying
Zeroenochone: Yes it is It's got a better camera, I think that's the only noteworthy feature in my opinion And it also has NFC
However the redmi note 9s has a faster upload/download speed so I'm pretty sure internet on it would be faster than on the redmi note 9 pro
But every other thing are the same about them So honestly I don't see the point of getting a note 9 pro since the note 9s is just as great But you'll definitely enjoy both of them
Zeroenochone: I'm back now And here are my findings
There are 3 phones from 3 cool brands that suit your specs
The very first is Xiaomi Redmi note 9s 98,000
The second is Umidigi f2 At least 89,000
The third is Samsung galaxy a31 92,000 (black Friday)
Now these 3 devices are very similar
They are all 6gb RAM and 128gb ROM and they all have 5000 mah battery
However their processors set them apart from eachother
In terms of processing power the Xiaomi Redmi note 9s is the absolute winner of the trio because it's got a powerful Snapdragon 710g
The Umidigi is in second place with a mediatek Helio p70 And the Samsung in in third place with a mediatek Helio p65
Now all these phones are very good phones no doubt, they all come with a quad camera set up
But only the redmi note 9s supports 4k video recording Let's not forget that if you wished you could get gcam for the redmi note 9s to further enhance its already impeccable camera performance because it's running on Snapdragon
Now let's get down to the screen The Redmi note 9s has an Fhd+ LCD ips screen LCD screens are known to be color accurate
The screen resolution is at 1080 * 2400p So it's really high and if you get videos at 1080p or play a game that can be upscaled to that level you'll have a crystal clear and crisp experience It's also got a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and will hold for drops as high as 6ft (it can probably withstand fall damage from greater heights but 6ft is the only review I've seen)
Now the GPU!! The GPU is an adreno 616 I'll gonna skip all the tech jargons and give it to you plainly It's an insanely good gpu
I use a Snapdragon 665 myself with an adreno 610 gpu and I know the kinds of games I've run on "very high" graphics settings
With 6gb ram and a Snapdragon 710g CPU that has top speeds of 2.3ghz of 4 of 8 cores multi tasking wouldn't be a problem at all
Now for the bonus Miui 12 is one of the best UIs out there because it's got loads of features that includes hiding apps or second space which simulates another android device on your phone almost like the multiple users function on windows And it's highly customisable too
I implore you to watch the video in the link so as to have a full understanding of MIUI 12 multitasking functions which minimises most system apps and social media apps as a floating window on top of whichever app you're currently using without having to switch from one app to another
Thanks for the detailed response. It was very helpful. Is the redmi note 9 pro a better option than the note 9s? I may be able to go a little above 100k if so
My current phone saw my current financial situation and decided that this is the best time for it to get spoilt so right now I have to buy a new phone that I didn't plan for at all. The thing is, I know next to nothing when it comes to phones so I need recommendations from you guys so I can get the best value for my money.
My budget is ~100k
I just have a few things I'm looking for: First of all, I do a lot of multitasking on my phone, so I'm looking for something that won't lag while running multiple apps. I need something that'll allow quick and smooth transitions between apps without closing them.
Secondly, I need a lot of storage space on my phone cos I have a bad habit of not deleting my files.
Also, if the phone has inbuilt features for hiding apps and files that will be very great. I'm paranoid about police officers going through my phone and labeling me a fraudster because of the contents in it.
I use my phone a lot so I'd love something with decent battery life. I have a power bank but I've been told these things are bad for your battery health in the long run.
Finally, I need something that I can use for more than a year. A phone whose power button won't break after a few months or whose screen won't break due to a small fall etc.
I sincerely hope I'm not asking for too much given my budget lol. I might be able to go a little over that amount if there's something that meets all my requirements.
I also want to know if I should take advantage of the Black Friday deals on Jumia. I've heard those things are scams but I don't really know.
I don't want Tecno, Infinix, or anything like that please . Thanks
NoonMasamune: You know, if enough people contact genesis or silverbird cinemas, they could get it for us on the same day it will air in the US
Too bad anime isn't a big thing in Nigeria. I doubt those cinemas would be willing to take the risk as not enough Nigerians watch anime and even fewer are willing to pay for it.
Tabasco23: I don't see an anime happening this year cause well 2020 is coming to an end but it might get one next year, but have you read mashle
I read a few chapters but they were quite boring. It felt like a mixture of one punch man (with the overpowered mc) and black clover (with the magic and the mc who can't use magic).
And the MC's personality isn't very likable, to be honest.
donwizzy7: now dat i think about it....probably crunchyroll didnt care about d plot and whatnot...dey just wanted fast money probably from newbies and non-manga fans...at d very least...d 'senseless' but overpowered fight scenes will draw dem in......and u cannot drag such things til 24episodes:it has to be short, quick and staight to point. No matter what criticisms manga fans ditch out to the anime adaptation...crunchyroll has already made money and 'packed up'. So sorry to doz offended by their anime adaptation (me included); lets wait patiently for something much better!
True. Their main goal is profit. That's why they saved money by giving TOG to a shitty studio and then gave GOH, a show whose main selling point is the action, to a top tier one.
typicalgamer: Oga create your own anime and see how it fair
Meanwhile G.O.H don break Crunchyroll subscription record you're here hating
You know it's okay for someone to have his own opinion about an anime right? He literally gave his reasons for disliking the show.
If you think his reasons aren't valid, why don't you write up a real argument instead of labeling him a hater because he doesn't like a show you do. Cos he didn't just say "GOH is a terrible anime" and leave it at that.
Or...
You could just not say anything at all. It's not that hard.
CoolUsername: Just caught up to Chainsaw Man and without giving too much away Jesus Christ Makima must've been really mad with her tank on the popularity poll considering what she's doing to her competitors.
Also, I don't know what devil Kobeni has a contract with but it must have come with a lifetime of bad luck.
Kobeni's contract is one of the many mysteries in Chain saw man.
I'm beginning to get tired of the manga tbh. Maybe I should just leave it for a while and come back to binge it cos right now, I have no clue what has been going on in the last 10 chapters or so.
Ever since that gun devil appeared things have been moving so damn fast (yes they slowed down for a chapter or two, but still). I still don't understand why you-know-who and you-know-who died - or why they had to die in the first place.
Everything is so confusing and it gets even more so with each chapter. I wish the author would slow down for a second and explain things better.
Fro5t: I remember when people were hyping this show to the high heavens over the trailers and I was like, "How about we wait for it to release first?" It's still better than Misfit of Demon King Academy, anyway.
Personally, I want the show to be successful cos that will open the way for more of my favorite Korean manhwa to be animated.
Hopefully, those ones won't be rushed like TOG and GOH.
CoolUsername: I'm still kind of new to Jujutsu Kaisen, I've only read like 20 chapters but I don't quite see why it seems to be getting such glowing praise. Maybe it improves further along but from what I've seen so far, it's just an above average shōnen manga.
Tbh, the beginning of jujutsu kaisen isn't that great...but it wasn't bad either. That's the thing about JJK...it doesn't have any weak chapters(at least in my opinion).
The first chapters were consistently decent which when compared to the quality of most of the crap we see nowadays was a breath of fresh air.
Then it got to a point where it peaked... And right now, JJK is one of the hottest mangas around.
Obviously, it's not for everybody...if you get to chapter 40 or 50 and you don't like it, maybe you'll never do.
Omo GOH is another level of ridiculous . I guess anybody who loves senseless fights and overpowered MCs would love it. I now remember exactly why I dropped the webcomic
I can't wait for Jujutsu kaisen to come out in October abeg. I'm tired of watching shitty shows.
Baddestguyp: guy I don tire...GOH is overrated... No plot...just fight up and down... I'm just still following it to see what will happen...but so far there's nothing special about it... So far I'll rate GOH 5/10
As someone who has read the webcomic( and dropped it), I'd advise you not to expect much.
GOH is one of those anime where you just have to shut off your brain and enjoy the fights without bothering about the plot.
famep: Why hxh is gold Characters are weak. Power-ups aren't easy. Sacrifices are made. Not everyone comes out in one piece when facing someone that is clearly stronger.
This! I love when fights aren't just about who is stronger, or who has a better ability/power, but rather they're about tactics and creativity.
You should check out Jujutsu Kaisen. It has pretty much everything you mentioned and the author is a big fan of HxH.
You can read the manga or wait for the anime that is coming out in October.
famep: Fair point I have seen someone saying the ant arc is better than that of hunter x hunter
In terms of? Cos it was that arc that made it clear that besides Jin Woo, the other characters are useless. I can't believe I used to think the S rank hunters were strong. About 20 of them went on that mission and they were about to die until Jin-woo came and single-handedly completed the mission.
Anyone who thinks it's better than hxh is on drugs.
True. The story is pretty boring imo -- fight an enemy, get stronger, repeat... The supporting characters are almost useless and only the MC really gets to shine
It's only popular because people love anything with an overpowered mc.... the art is great though
