Zakkyoz: ''Lloyd, you called and wished me happy birthday on Thursday, October 4th 2012. You promised you would come home on Friday after lecture but you never did. Little did i know that your birthday wish was your goodbye to me,your mother and your younger brother .......'' Those were the lamentations of Mr. Toku Mike, one of the boys' father that were burnt to ashes by a mob as a result of mere allegation.
Each time i think of these boy my heart bleeds uncontrollably. Were those people that hatched the death of these guys prosecuted? Government and civil organisations seem to be quiet about it after eleven(11) good months of the ugly incident.
RIP boys, Nigeria has been moving from bad to worse since you left!
plsss Mods anytime you see this news move it to the front page for awareness,I trust you guys sha

CrimeWoolwich Murder Suspect Appears In Court by marshaldollz(op): 4:26pm On May 31, 2013
A 22-year-old Micheal Adebowale in connection with the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby was Thursday charged to court. Michael Adebowale, from Greenwich, southeast London, was flanked by two police officers

and two security guards in the dock at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

He is accused of murdering Drummer Rigby on May 22, as well as possession of a firearm, a 9.4mm KNIL Model 91 Revolver, with intent to cause others to believe that violence would be used.

Handcuffed Adebowale, wearing a grey sweater and white trousers, was told that he did not need to stand up in the dock because he was injured after being shot by police.

He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the short hearing, and will next appear at the Old Bailey on June 3.

Adebowale, who limped as he approached his position in the glass dock, held his right hand close to his body.

Chief magistrate Howard Riddle told the defendant he was not required to stand due to his injuries.

Asked to confirm his name, address and date of birth, Adebowale calmly replied: "Yes."

Bethan David, specialist prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) counter-terrorism division, told the court the charges fell under the jurisdiction of terrorism legislation.

Drummer Rigby, 25, was murdered near Woolwich barracks in southeast London last week.

A post-mortem examination found that the soldier's cause of death was multiple cut and stab wounds. An inquest will be formally opened on Friday. Source http://www.ipaidabribenaija.com/index.php/world/item/24479

bigfrancis21: I think these might be helpful:
1) Stand erect during the interview. Don't slouch or bend to one side.
2) Speak confidently, but no over confidently like the visa is your right.
3) Don't rest on the counter! Don't place bags/hand bags etc of the counter during the interview.
4) Give short but precise, straight-to-the-point answers. No beating about the bush.
5) Smile gently when necessary.
6) Use body expressions to your advantage but don't overdo it.

Anybody who has more can add to the list.
correct! Thanks bro,all noted!

olarwarlay: What do you mean there are no undergraduate visas in Lagos anymore?... I don't understand! undecided
they don't give undergraduates that much and I think there's a specific amount of visas they give to each...only masters and Phd...Abuja has a higher no of undergraduate visas

wabi_wabi_91: Hello everyone.

I've read what has been posted on this thread from page 1 in preparation for my own visa interview. I would like to thank all those who have contributed to this thread- its awfully nice of you to help others like this.

I've been admitted to Purdue University to study Industrial Engineering (Bachelors) this fall and I have filled my DS-160 form and scheduled a visa interview. I live in Lagos, but unfortunately there were no dates available- I was astonished by this fact. I went ahead to book an appointment in Abuja for the 13th of June, but going all the way will be rather expensive. I plan on canceling the Abuja appointment and rescheduling an appointment in Lagos if dates become available.

A few pages back someone suggested that a sort of Lagos Visa Appointment Date Notification Service be started on the thread. I'd like to voice my support for this idea. If anyone notices that dates become available in Lagos, please email me on aabiola"at"purdue"dot"edu.

Thanks a bunch. Good luck to all.
pick the Abuja date my guy...I don't think there are undergraduate visas in Lagos anymore...upright denial...but you can try your luck sha

Hey all...please do you think in a second time of interview, the interviewer might ask,why you choose that embassy instead of the one close to ones house and if one was denied? And also will a certificate of registration(enterprise or company) be a bonus in the interview(registered in the 90's)

umoski1: Hi Everyone.Had my interview today in Abuja and i must say it went well even though i wasnt granted a visa :....I answered all questions from the VO and he was about handing me a green ticket when he stopped and asked for my Letter of acceptance,i handed it over to him and after checking for a while,he said he cant issue me a visa this time and i asked him why,he took his time to explain to me that my presentations and documents are very okay but Community colleges dont stand a chance,he went as far as telling me that there's a 98% guaranty denial of visa for anyone who picked a community. He told me to choose a University and come back and then i will stand a chance. My fellow People, pls try and get a good university cos community colleges are screwed.thats my advise.anyways am on the internet now searching for a good university for Fall Semester. Thanks
don't worry ,all would be well, kindly post the questions you were asked so we can all learn

bigfrancis21: Your interview generally went well. From your write-up, I can't seem to pick out any flaws in your answers. Or did you fail to impress on the man that you're a promising student? Or is it that the man is just not kind at giving visas?
he wasn't just giving visas, when you see him sef you will know,lool!...even my firend was like arrgh, when I told him an asian man interviewd me...me sef tire

mr swagger: Wow!!!! You did averagely well. Dts pretty cool. Almost the same score with mine.

I don't think it was the SAT score becos your score is good. Many people even get their student visa with scores lower than yours. It wasn't just your lucky day. It's just God's favour we all need..

Prepare well for your next interview, take time to read the previous threads and learn from student's success stories, and I'm pretty sure you shall get it this time. Don't be discouraged bro. Cheers
I will, thanks a lot for your support bro...will keep everyone posted

mr swagger: @Marshadolz, Sorry for the denial. I pray you get it the 2nd time in jesus name. Have faith bro.

I suspect your SAT score. If you don't mind what was your SAT score? and did you do well in it?

Because it's not all about taking standarlized test, it's also about doing pretty well in the exams.
Amen brother,thanks...I got a score of 1530 in total,I heard the man who interviewed me hardly gives out visa,an Asian man

I had once applied to lagos embassy with a different date of birth before and i chose thesame place for my student interview with a new passport and i got my visa. Its all about preparing and praying. Once denied doesnt mean door is closed but yours will not be that case

I got there by 9:27 even though my appintment was by 10:30....I got interviewd around 2pm....Vo:why do you want to go to the US..Me:for my undergraduate studies in computer sciece at Dixie State university...Vo:why Dixie state? Me:well Dixie state has a very strong computer science program and highly knowledgable professors being that they have the highest no of Phd holders in the state of Utah and practical approach in their teaching...Vo:what do you intend to gain from this course of study?..Me:I choose this course of study because the world is being computerrised right now and earing a degree in IT. Would boost my career prospects in the Nigerian job market being that most industries run it departments which has to do with securing networks...and he asked who would be sponsoring m...and I said my dad...Vo:did you write any standerdized Exams? Me:yes I did,I took the November/December SAT exams, then I gave him the score sheet..he read it for a while and nodding his head...he later said,I'm sorry I can't approve your visa, then that sheet was given to me.........Where did I go wrong oh?!...is it easier to get a Visa in Abj?
