The beleif has been around for a long period of time. It is based on the 'argument from silence' and it is an argument I don't like...because at the end of the day, you would be arguing that historical figures like Hannibal did not exist because 'we have no contemporary reports from neutral writers about them'

The answer I posted link for is in essence NOT an argument for Jesus as Son of God (I think that is what martinez thinks I am up to...although I am a Chrstian and I beleive in the divinity of Jesus) but an argument against the fake idea that 'Because contemporary figure X did not mention Jesus...therefore Jesus is a myth....which I don't like.

I believe a guy called Jesus must have existed too. I believe he was just a teacher of morals in his time. Just like there were many other teachers at that same time too. Unfortunately his desperate followers have corrupted his teaching and his history. And everything written about him are mostly impossible nonsense. Most of them were trying to copy stories about other mythical and historic figured before him to lend weight to his teaching. That's why they adapted his virgin birth story from that of other older religions. And also talked about him being hunted by Herod when he was born to make him seem like a saviour of Mose's stature.

I think this is the argument Martinez39 is trying to make. Though his atheism makes him likely to favour total mythicism of Jesus considering the dearth of evidence to the contrary.

Well, the guy I quoted is an atheist who does not beleive Jesus is the son of God nor does he believe that Jesus did any miracles, or whatever.

However, he believes in a guy who was called Jesus, and existed.And has used his proof.

(By the way, I had this answer brought to my attention by another Quoran I follow who happens to be an atheist, and who highly recommended the answer)

Just read the article. You may learn something. Have gone through all the 'Jesus is a myth' and the responses to them in my 15 years on the web, so nothing shocks me anymore.

P.S.. God is not a Christian and he doesn't go to church so don't make the assertion that church misconception is what makes Jesus a myth. Religion is the problem of the world Sir.

Some pray by reading, studying, storing wealth where moths can't get at it, and the faith and trust they have in the work they have done to acquire that wealth of knowledge is what we trust and have faith will cure us which is what happened in my case where a mountain moved.

If one tests ones faith by moving mountains, the mountain moved or one has not got faith, understanding, in the wisdom and the knowledge one has.
