People are subject to a change of mind. Ubunja's points are valid and the research he talked about is valid, regardless of if he has been guilty of what he said or not. His concerns for the authors are understandable, but to each his own. The issue you have with him is that he called some cheap and participants of piracy in sheer hypocrisy, but to each his own.

If we think about it deeply, buying the books of the authors is a win-win situation: the authors are motivated to write more and devote more time to educating people (instead of spending time on certain side businesses that may not pay them as much as their potential book sales), and readers will take the knowledge more seriously and thoroughly read it for them to know more since they have invested money in it. In the long run, more people that are as knowledgable as Ubunja can find writing more profitable and devote more time to writing.
