Aradu isn't going to waste, it would be repurposed as an OPVs, however we don't know when.

For me I think we Nigeria needs 1 Frigate, 2 Corvettes and 6 missile boats (60 meters).

Aradu used to be a world class frigate, but not anymore. All it's missile systems are obsolete and inoperable.

It's mechanical systems are bad, due to leakage hence the extensive work which was recently done at the Naval Dockyard.


Nigeria does not currently have a missile capable ship, we need to return our missile capability but I don't see that happening right now.

We can do with 2 more OPVs and at least 3 missile boats.

3 frigates and 2 or three corvettes all missile capable ..
I strongly suggest we reverse engineer the aradu..

Bro I just watched that video properly and indeed it was BH led by Shekau who brought down that jet. That jet was brought down with a FIM-92 Stinger. The FIM-92 Stinger is a man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) that operates as an infrared homing surface-to-air missile (SAM).

I hope you all know what that means. Boko haram just upped their game! No one is safe. No plane flying over that route is safe!

You should have done a research to see if the super tacno the USA are gladly selling to you if they themselves used it to defeat ISIS in Syria or fight the talaban in Afghanistan or defeat al queda in Iraq. I never ever said an RPG downed the jet. If you go through my posts so far on this, you'll see where I corrected an opinion that an RPG can down a fighter jet.

An anti aircraft gun on the other hand (they quoted a 105mm hotweizer AA gun in the post) handled by a good gunner will hit that jet if it's flying low! They were making a video of them attacking the jet after which the jet went up in flames right in the video. How then can that guy say it was not BH who downed the jet?

Mind you the original post never said the particular weapon BH brought down the jet with. We are just speculating but an RPG "under normal circumstances " can't ever bring down a fighter jet!

Remember is not only BH that's operating there iswap too..
In every scenario presented the jet must be flying low for any hit to occur...
