I'm reiterating THAAD because it was meant to be a classified defense system at the initial stage. Iron Dome is totally different from THAAD. Iron Dome is mean to detect and intersect rockets launch while THAAD is designed to detect, and destroy high calibre 'warhead' aimed at the US mainland.

It has its independent satellite stationed to provide intelligence about warhead (e.g supersonic). It's a self propelling defense system. There some Infos about it that are classified.

And for your info, it is not like the conventional missile launcher being mounted on military trucks. THAAD is purely conduit (buried underground) which makes its difficult for enemy countries to locate and attack it.

The US has 11 aircraft carriers while the China can hardly boast of one.
