Politics / Re: Sanusi Lamido Faults Sir Olaniwun Ajayi On Northern Domination by marvix(m): 11:42pm On Nov 04, 2010
Beaf, Let us go back to the real issues,

Sanusi said;

1. And like all Nigerians of his generation, he has written in the language of his generation.; he implied here that he understands where the writer is coming from this is true, the write has written in the language of his generation.

2. My grandfather was a Northerner, I am a Nigerian; here again he clearly states that he is a Nigerian unlike his grandfather who is a northerner, can you say the same about yourself beaf, your grandfather beaf was a citizen of the southern protectorate, while your father should have been a Nigerian but u ultimately beaf were born in an Independent Nigeria and surely is supposed to be a Nigerian, not Niger deltan!

3.Before colonialism, there was nothing like Northern Nigeria; is this a lie beaf? was there a Nigeria before the british, so If the North had been colonised by the germans and we the french would there be a Nigeria today, obviously NO!!

4. Before the Sokoto Jihad, there was nothing like the Sokoto caliphate. The man from Kano regard himself as bakane. The man from Zaria was bazazzage. The man from Katsina was bakatsine. The kingdoms were at war with each other. They were Hausas, they were Muslims, they were killing each other.

“The Yoruba were Ijebu, Owo, Ijesha, Akoko, Egba. When did they become one? When did the North become one? You have the Sokoto Caliphate that brought every person from Adamawa to Sokoto and said it is one kingdom. They now said it was a Muslim North.
; this is obviously true.

5.The Colonialists came, put that together and said it is now called the Northern Nigeria. Do you know what happened? Our grand fathers were able to transform to being Northerners; obviosly true again.

6. We have not been able to transform to being Nigerians. The fault is ours.; Would u say this is a lie beaf?

7. Tell me, how many governors has South West produced after Awolowo that are role models of leadership? How many governors has the East produced like Nnamdi Azikiwe that can be role models of leadership? How Many governors in the Niger Delta are role models of leadership? Tell me. There is no evidence statistically that any past of this country has produced good leaders; Beaf kindly tell us of any NDeltan gov u would like to be like if given the opportunity to serve, SLS even went on to assert that no part of the country has produced role models not even his own northern extraction. That is a Nigerian way to talk, or are you proud of Ibori, if u were to campaign can you boldly say u want to follow in Iboris style of leadership or would you like to be labelled an Ibori!!

8.You talk about Babangida and the economy. Who were the people in charge of the economy during Babangida era? Olu Falae, Kalu Idika Kalu. What state are they from in the North? Babangida alone didnot ruin our economy both some fools aided him professionally either they were fools or did not know much about economics when they were put incharge of the economy, either way it is neither here nor ther, they all contributed to the situation we have found ourselves today, ask urself is Falae a poor man today, are his children in any school in Nigeria?

Sanusi is passionate about this country, and he is a northerner i can give my vote to in 2015, if he decides to run against Ribadu, because he has done his job well and is versed in politics, he sees Nigeria as a detribalised fellow, he is a man who works with policies, Sanusi has my support for presidency in 2015.

there are good yoruba, ibo, hausa, edos, deltas and co just the same way there are evil yorubas, ibos, hausas, edos, deltas and co.

We need to face facts and stop hiding behind general fallacies that can take us nowhere.
Politics / Re: Vulunteer For Team Ribadu by marvix(m): 11:02pm On Nov 04, 2010
I feel your enthusiasim, and i feel very pained that I have relocated from Abuja before this period, I would have been there but would have been there to give a candid advice to Ribadu.

Ribadu has a choice today either to become a Buhari or a Jonathan, he has a choice either to become an Oshiomole or a Pat Utomi.

If Ribadu contests the presidential elections in 2011, the best he can get is a second position, because when push comes to shove all elements of corruption will stand by the PDP if only to get Ribadu out of the way.

The PDP govt of Jonathan will now owe some corrupt individuals its victory in 2011 and that would be our albatross not the victory of the PDP or the loss of Ribadu, but the support of the corrupt cabal and godfathers whom we should all have put our hands on deck to bury.

Obama did not wake up to become president, neither did Ghandi, Luther king never became president, but his sacrifices is what gave birth to Obama.

Ribadu should please go to his senatorial district, team Ribadu, can be transported to his senatorial district and capture the district for him.

We need to see how much of politics Ribadu can play, is he a more vicious politician than IBb and Obj, we must see his reactions to issues as a senator, does he truly have respect for procedures, can he say no to the corruption in the senate, will he pitch his tent with us the masses or will he ride us riughshod with his colleagues in the chamber.

Would he be a blind party member at the senate or would his vote be one that will be highly lobbied because he would always stand on the side of truth.

Dimeji Bankole can never dream of becomin President because now we know what he is capable of, majority of our senators dont desrve a 2nd term they know this thats why they hinge their campaigns on building capacity.

The flames being fanned by team Ribadu will only consume the volunteers.

Ribadu belongs to the future, that future is not here yet, Jesus could never come before John the Baptist, just as Elisha could not come before Elijah, Ribadu and co pls put ur hands on deck and deliver Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for 2011, then by 2015, Ribadu should have matured.

That Ribadu is able to campaign today is a plus to GEJ.
Politics / Re: Sanusi Lamido Faults Sir Olaniwun Ajayi On Northern Domination by marvix(m): 10:31pm On Nov 04, 2010
SANUSI HIT IT RIGHT ON POINT.

The northerners were not united before the british came, same for the easterners and westerners, but at independence the North was one, the East became one and the west was one.

It was left to us who were born into independence to grow as Nigerians not as easterners or yorubas or edos or hausas, we are all Nigerians, the way the Northern man comes from a state, local govt and a village.

Sanusi is an intellectual and really hit the nail on the head, today is a special day for me just readin g this, I wish i could see his face and tell him, Sir thank you very much.

Jarus pls can you send me the articles from SLS that you have I will really appreciate it my email is marvixus@yahoo.com.

Beaf you have been my comrade on the GEJ threads, but on this you are far off the point Sanusi never implied that the wars started 10yrs ago or stopped then, what he was sayin is the different people in the ND were locked up in wars, the Itshekiris and Urhobos or uhrobos or watever had been at war, pls Beaf if u have nothing useful to say keep ur fingers to urself and dont make a fool of urself or u would inadvertently spoil GEJs cjances at the polls.

Was he not right when he asked "how many industries has ibru built in urhobo", was he not right when he asked "how many govs have the east west or north produced that can be seen as role models after the likes of Nnamdi Azikwe, Awolowo and Tafawa balew".

Sanusi sees himself as a Nigerian from the northern part, not as a northerner in Nigeria, its just like a black american knows that he is an American that is black, but a Nigerian in America is not a black American he is a black in America!

Jarus pls I am waiting for your mail thanks.
Politics / Re: Jega Appears Before Fec Over 2011 Elections ! by marvix(m): 9:24pm On Nov 04, 2010
Jega is trying to be too pure, how did he estimate and scrutinised contractors quotation and did not not notice that VAT was missen, what does this tell us about his time as VC of a university?

He lacks competence but has integrity, I only hope he does not lose that after the elections.

Conducting a credible election does not require DDCs, all it requires is an INEC that is willing to do its job.

We could have people register like they did before you conduct the elections and count votes at polling booths, agents of the different political parties must sign that this was the actual vote, the police on duty would have its column, independent observers would have their columns to sign some check and balances, any ward or booth that has violence or votes could not be counted will be cancelled, its not a question of who or what, just outright cancellation, the police on duty at such post should also be made liable that where votes dont count the police officer in charge would be suspended if he has no culprit or is even imagined to have colluded, this would put the officer in check, soldiers can be deployed to the states, where they will be operationally mobile to arrive any flash point within 15 minutes.

Those who have voters cards, can vote, those without the old voters card can register to vote, the old version of the voters card should be fed into a database, every polling booth should have 6 laptops and internet modems of all the communications network we have, the laptops and modems can be sourced from the communications coy as their contribution and coporate governance, I think it makes more sense than givin some musicians N100m for endorsements, all these laptops have access to the database, once u give ur full name and voter card num ur data will come up No 2 people can have the same names or voters number and once you have been given a ballot ur name and number is locked, we could even use the thumb print equipments the phone networks are using to register their customers at the polling booths. This thumb print readers would be used to take thumbprints of those voting and fed into the system immediately, if any body who thumbprints goes to any other booth with another voters card the moment he places his thumb it would give an error message.

With this rigging would be discouraged, because once u have an issue all the electoral officer have to do is signify to the police, who should take the person off for questioning, they could use their discretion and advice the offenders of their actions and quietly offer the offender to go home without making noise or else, that offender would be the evangelist to all other aspiring offenders that it is impossible to vote twice.

At the end of the day maybe only 40% of registered and eligible voters may vote but definitely the votes would count and then all Nigerians would be ready to vote come 2015.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Wasn't Formed For The Jonathans Of Niger Delta by marvix(m): 6:12pm On Nov 03, 2010
Politics is not about sentiments, but what the writer put up here is the truth.

A step further is that Jonathan is not a minority the north would have felt comfortable handing over power to.

Jonathan represents a new Nigeria, A Nigeria where everything is possible, he marks the beginning of a true era.

I have always likened this period to the 1999 period for the following reasons,

1. The elections are being planned to be fair in the least by the sitting president, remember Abdulsalami was ready to relinquish power and was not personally interested in planting a stooge, he was truly commited to the democratic government, Now Jonathan also wants to conduct an election that in the least would be fair to all even if not free or credible, this means that once u lose even u will agree that truly I lost.

2. In 1999, the candidate to beat to the presidency was Alex Ekhueme, he was the force behind the PDP, he was well positioned to take the seat and with retrospect I believe that no matter what his performance would have been he would have been a better president than OBJ, but then the Northern Cabal were not comfortable with his person and they the northerners were the ones who played the zoning card and concluded that presidency should go to the south west as a compensation for Abiola who they denied the presidency in 1993 and they were still the same people who went to bring OBJ out of prison got the govt of the day to grant him pardon financed him to edge out Ekhueme and Falae.

3.In 2011, the candidate to beat is Jonathan and they are not comfortable with his person, they dont know him, they are actually scared of him and again they have introduced their zoning sentiments, the question we should ask if power must go to the north should it be IBB or Atiku, two people who have contributed to our woes as a nation, Atiku has been plundering this nation since his days at Customs. The Cabal in the north were positioning to bring IBB back to power the way they did OBj in 1999 and I must say Nigerians can not afford this gamble, we survived Obj because it was a period of Economic boom in the world if not the nation would have been privatised.

4. Nigerians we must not lose focus and that is why my vote will go to Jonathan and anyone who I know must give his vote to Jonathan whether I am paid for it or not, the freedom we look for, the better days we hope for is almost here, Ribadu can win Jonathan in a free contest in 2015, but Ribadu will never beat IBB in any contest even in 2019 if Ibb goes the whole hog of another 8yrs which he is entitled to.

5. We must put the nation first, electricity is not as important as Jonathan winning the 2011 elections, the roads can still remain bad if that will guarantee Jonathans presidency, elections can remain rigged if it would be rigged to bring Jonathan back as president, the economy can get worse a bit more, some corruption cases can be swept under and some laws manipulated to deliver Jonathan.

I know that we are all entitled to our opinions and our vote is our individual choice to make, but the biggest sacrifice is for us all as individuals, the masses and the average Nigerians is to say a big NO to the Cabals the professional politicians and horse traders who have mortgaged our future by endorsing Goodluck as president, such that all credible opinion polls would know that Jonathan has the popularity and he would be ready to go for a free and fair contest.
Politics / Re: Convicted Money Launderer Donates To Jonathan's Campaign For Presidency by marvix(m): 7:11am On Oct 31, 2010
Common guys what were you expecting, is there anywhere in the world where campaigns are excuted without funds.

Is there a law that bars exconvict from donating to campaigns, If IBB can be allowed to seek elective office, Alamyeisegha should and is allowed to donate to whoever he wants to donate to.

I find the part of Saraki bringing is own contribution very funny, I guess this is politics because If I were to make a speech I would tell them that on the primaries even Ibb will cast his vote for Goodluck Ebele Jonathan because he is the man.

Let the game begin, victory is assured. GEJ for 2011

Politics / Re: Apugo Advises Jonathan To Drop Presidential Ambition by marvix(m): 12:42am On Oct 29, 2010
Abagworo, is zoning the only reason we want Jonathan to step down.

If we have a Donald Duke as IBBs strongest contender in the 2011 elections would we ask him to step down because of zoning?

This Apugo guy has not said anything in the interest of the nation, but only in his interest and maybe in the interest of his political party which is informed by the political group he belongs to in the party.

Well Apugo is a BoT member, so instead of advising Jonathan he should go ahead and advice his co BoT members not to vote Jonathan and the delegates frrom his state not to vote Jonathan.

Politics is a game of number, he himself knows dat once the chips are down he will cast his vote in Jonathans favor
Politics / Re: Zoning: Nigeria May Plunge Into Problems - Ibb by marvix(m): 11:08pm On Oct 28, 2010
Quote from Post;

He stated that the issue of zoning was what made PDP strong, “because it gives equal right to every one and if the party jettison this path, it is only trying to bring misfortune and disadvantage to the nation”.

So far everyone has spoken well, constitutional right or not we dont want IBB near the Aso Rock.

But Dokpesi's quote here is a fallacy,

Zoning according to Dokpesi made the PDP strong so why should jettisoning it bring misfortune and disadvantage to the nation?

If zoning made PDP strong jettisoning it now can only make the PDP weak or bring misfortune to the party because zoning did not make the nation strong so the nation can not and would not suffer from Jettisoning it.

If Dokpesi must campaign for IBB and earn the money he is being paid then he should do this honorably and do his home work properly, although no matter what he does IBB is a lost case.

The statement here brings to mind Gov Aliyu of Niger states comment he said "zoning is a political strategy and not a political right".

IBB can not claim right to the presidency, but the party can use it as a strategy and if the party decides to zone once again to the south to be strategically positioned to sweep the polls who are you IBB to want to stand in their way, the best you can do is to show us the strategical importance the PDP will enjoy by zoning the presidency to you, not you threatening the whole nation, If PDP loses the 2011 election does that mean the end of Nigeria.

Dokpesi has proven himself to be a man who does not have the interest of this nation but is only concerned about the side where his bread will be heavily buttered.
Politics / Re: Trying Moments For Edo Action Congress by marvix(m): 12:49pm On Oct 26, 2010
PDP is not the problem of this country but individual politicians.

The crooks in the PDP have found their way to the ACN, now we are seeing the drama.

This is a pointer to show that it is not just sacking PDP that we need to do in 2011 but to dislodge all unpopular candidates at the ballot.

If we go ahead and sack the PDP we will only bring a worse set of people.

Goodluck for president, Fashola for Gov lag, performing govs should be retained no matter their party, non performing govs should be shown the way out, Ribadu for Senate lets find credible people with popularity to take up elective posts and forget about the party affiliations then and only then would we be on our march to true democracy!!!

Anyday we dont have light it must have been a major fault but most times the light is constant.

I still look forward to the 24hrs daily for a week and maybe wont mind a day off.
Politics / Re: President Drops Title Of 'commander In Chief' by marvix(m): 12:28pm On Oct 26, 2010
It was the VP in response to a question on why Nigerian leaders have so many titles.

So he explained that even the president has asked that he be addresed as Mr President.

Being Mr President already confers commander in chief it is only a repetition and show of emphasis as you can not be Mr President without being the commander in chief of your army.

Its just like a gov being addressed as His Excellency the Gov of XYZ state, Chief Security Officer of the state and so on and so forth.

Mr President id just trying to say he is humble and does need the appelations in public.
Politics / Re: SSS Detention Almost Broke My Spirits - Dokpesi by marvix(m): 12:19pm On Oct 26, 2010
Quote;

Dokpesi opened up on the cancellation of the presidential election of June 12, 1993 won by the late Chief Moshood Abiola, explaining that apart from accepting responsibility several times on the annulment, Babangida had openly made atonement for the omission by supporting the idea of power shift to the South-West in 1999.

He recalled the role played by Babangida in ensuring the victory of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to emerge as Nigeria’s president in 1999, stressing that the support Babangida and others gave Obasanjo was the reason he defeated Chief Olu Falae in the presidential contest to become president.

Who asked babangida to give us Obj, that was another evil he perpetrated that set us back 8yrs he should be apologising for this.

The contest would have been between Falae and Ekhueme and if Falae had gone ahead to win based on the Abiola sentiments which would have been impossible considering that the PDP was the biggest of the three parties as at that time, Falae would not have been able to rail road us in 2003 or 2007, democracy would have been better served if Obj was forgotten in the prison.

IBB should apologise for bringing Obj in as president and not see that as an atonement for his sins in the 1993 saga.

An Ekhueme or Falaes presidency could have been sacked conveniently in 2003 if they had failed to perform, A gov like Igbinedion would never have gotten a 2nd term, Democracy would have taken firmer roots.

Dokpesi we are not about to make the same mistake of bringing in a bull into our china shop, we are not about to start another fire we can not control, we dont want a leader who once he becomes president would do unto us as he likes possibly handover to his son.

Obj seemed docile in 1998 but all those who brought him in regretted their actions while those of us who allowed him win in 1999 suffered the consequencies, I call on all Nigerians young and old Dokpesi would only regret the failure IBB will become if he ever becomes president we on the other hand are the ones that will suffer!!!

Nigerians bewarned IBB is a bigger devil to OBJ.
Politics / Re: Jonathan Is Weak -buhari ! by marvix(m): 12:02pm On Oct 26, 2010
@Gbawe, your dislike or want for Ribadu to be president is making you very unobjective in your comments.

The president was approached by INEC that they require an amendment to the act and would want him to assist, the govs and others who have something to gain and wanted leverage came seeking that he includes the appointees as delegates to party primaries and he goes ahead to oblige them.

This is only a democratic process.

Did the national assembly not sponsor a bill for an increase in their allowances and within 24hrs got it through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd reading and got it approved, the NASS are only serving their interest not national interests, this is obvious because they have ambitions to contest either as govs of their states or president in the future and dont want to be handicapped.

To conclude in your words that political parties are institutions because they are platforms for bringing about leaders is a fallacy.

Gbawe Ribadu can also be frustrated by NASS when he wants to fight corruption if he ever makes it to the presidency.

Jonathan is not weak, he is only being political and a very good student of the Laws of Power.

This was the same way a lot of people condemned him as weak in the wake of the Yaradua saga yet he went on to become president and no one could quarrel about it or riot against his acsension, if it had been a Buhari, Atiku or Ribadu they would have bungled it and set this nation on fire just to interpret the constitution that none of them wrote.

Delegates no matter how they get to the primaries are always buyable, and no law has excluded the appointees from seeking nominations as delegates from their constituencies and with promises of appointments and contracts and outright sharing of cash which Jonathan can do very well with little effort he would get all the delegates.

Politics is not about good or bad because the opposite of good is not always bad in politics so also the opposite of bad is not always good in politics there are in betweens a lot of compromise and concessions.

If you can not compromise you have no buisness in politics just stand aside and be a Judge

Politics / Re: Jonathan Is Weak -buhari ! by marvix(m): 7:46am On Oct 26, 2010
Kobojunkie:

It matters a whole lot because, if you have been able to put two and two together by now, you would have realized that a strong leader will ensure progress while a weak one will only take us another turn on the wheel, and no progress to show for it all. I am not sure if you are claiming amnesia or something but remember Yar adua? Yeah, that is what a weak leader does to a nation -- he takes you on a rollercoaster ride to nowhere, and by the time you realize you are four years older, you find out also that your life and situation has not improved much in that time. If going another turn is what you want at that, then feel free to continue convincing yourself that there is nothing wrong with having a weak leader.

By the way, STRONG in no way means DESPOTIC. Abacha was not a strong leader -- he came in at a time when Nigerians were at their weakest and he took advantage of that to his own benefit. Compare Abacha's crimes to IBB's and you would quickly realize he was not really as bad but he instilled more fear by pretending to be worse.

I feel very bad at the bolded section.

Yaradua did a lot for this country that we are together as a nation is an achievement of Yaradua.

Yaradua in his weakness made the courts stronger, insisting that all their orders be obeyed no matter what, never interfering in their activities especially when you consider from the background we were coming from he even insisted that EFCC obey all court orders and follow due process in prosecuting their case, this to me is a solid foundation for the rule of law in the land.

A weak Yaradua was able to reverse the evils that Obj left us by selling refineries that are working now under d govt, reversed prices of petroleum products with a promise never to increase it unless labour approves and agrees with the increase this promise he kept until his death, the VAT increase was reversed.

Yaradua played politics without bitterness as we dint hear of high profile assasination of opponets while he was there, He was a listening president ever ready to go back on any decision he makes once there is a better arguement.

Yaradua is the father of modern democracy in Nigeria because he lived by the principles, he never abrogated too much power to himself or the presidency.

The president is weak in this context according to Buhari because a bill that had his selfish interest was thrown out by the senate.

He could have made the bill to also favour the senators say for instance include that senators wives and girlfriends become automatic delegates to conventions and pass across some ghana must go to the id1. ots that congregate in the NASS then we could perceive him as strong.

All the people who send bills to the NASS either as NGOs or civil societies always have something in it for themselves even the senators always treat bills that they stand to gain from with expediency, this is obvious.

Buhari actually does not understand democracy he thinks the president is all in all, but in democracy that is not supposed to be, If buhari understands politics and governance and he is really interested in serving the people he would ask his people to send him to the Senate or he would have asked Yaradua to allow him take charge of the anti corruption unit when Yaradua was asking for a govt of natnal unity.

All being said the President is a human being and if he has the power to increase his leverage y shouldnt he?

@Donmeca I am doing great, how are u doin at ur end.

We must realise dat a new PDP is about to be born and I as a person is more interested in the new baby about to be born than the mother who is getting expired, Yes the way the PDP is going it will implode, but after implosion those who would hold power is more important, If Jonathan holding on to power will implode the PDP then let it be any attempt for Jonathan to fail in 2011-2015 he would no longer have the mama PDP to rig him Nigerians like me will quietly sack him, hence welcome to democracy.

The same way he eased Ogbulafor out, the same way a lot of politicians who think it will remain buisness as usual will be eased out and for those of you that want a radical change heres a word nothing achieved radically lasts, ask the free radicals in chemistry.
Politics / Re: 2011: Efcc Submits Corrupt Aspirants’ Names To Pdp ! by marvix(m): 3:12pm On Oct 25, 2010
The simple way to go for the PDP is to ask all those on the list to conclude all of such cases before the primaries or risk disqualification, that is if you have taken your plea, you as the accused should urge the court to decide your case quickly and you will only be able to do this if you are innocent or have done your homework properly.

In this way the PDP would have killed two birds with a stone, first the public will see them as seriously fighting corruption and secondly all those who feel that they are too big in the party will now only be liabilities if they decide to decamp, because it would be cited that they decamped because the PDP took a stand against corruption.

Nigerians we must stand against corruption, it has gotten to the level where we must all agree with Odein Ajumogobia when he called that any suspect of corruption should be considered guilty until he can prove otherwise.
Politics / Re: Jonathan Is Weak -buhari ! by marvix(m): 2:50pm On Oct 25, 2010
So what Buhari is trying to tell us is that any bill he sends to the national assembly must be accepted or he will show us that he is not weak. Guess he thinks we are still in the military era.

This is one of the reasons why he can rule this nation again, he thinks it is okay to want to jail every corrupt individual in the country, he is yet to understand what democratic tenets are and is yet to understand the laws of power.

As strong as Buhari claims he is, can we imagine him in jonathans shoes during the Yaradua saga, I am sure the country would have been set ablaze just to show he is no coward and where will that leave us?

Are we to conclude that the legislators love democracy more than Jonathan or are they the ones who care more about the nation, the same lawmakers who amended the constitution in selfish manner to suit them, the same lawmakers who when Yaradua was taking a paycut for himself and his aides they were increasing theirs within 24hrs while docs where on strike, common let us see through the facade simply because they the lawmakers dont have political appointees who could make the delegate list that was why they kicked against it and eventually kicked it out, we must be careful in our democratic experience not to make a section of the leadership too strong to control.

That the bill was kicked out shows that Jonathan was not involved in any arm twisting, lobbying and surely ghana must go bags were not sent to the assembly chambers.

Political appointees or not Jonathan would still carry the day at the PDP primaries except the PDP has decided to forget their dream of ruling for the next 60years!!!

I also share the same sentiments, this group is biased as is evident from the write up.

After receiving a warning from terrorists what did they actually expect Jonathan to do, cancel the celebrations?

Are the americans known for negotiating with terrorists? why do they expect jonathan to back down because of the bomb scare?

The security agencies knew that the Eagle square was safe and secured and must have assured Jonathan of this, the threat originally waqs to blow up the venue of the celebrations Eagle square and disrupt the celebrations but this was a massive failure.

The attacks surely had nothing to do with agitations in the delta this is obvious.

Obj is the worst president in our history, when he came in govt was welcomed with a great amount of goodwill, when he handed over the new govt came in with a terrible amount of badwill because of the experience from him.

Yaradua had to reverse Objs last actions, the sale of the refineries, increase in fuel prices and VAT, this same fuel prices have been reduced twice, the product is no more scarce, the refineries are working now, I stay in PH and the gas been flared fromthe refinery is evidence to show that the refinery is working.

Obj gave licences to 5 communication coys at $285m each, what did this money do for our economy or infrastruture.

Obj is the greatest failure as a leader in this country, he may not be the worst but he squandered all our opportunities he never laid any foundation was just about quick fixes thast is y all he seemed to have achieved has collapsed, but Yaradua laid solid foundations, because of Yaraduas positon on rule of law thats why we are seein govs been declared by the courts and they are taking over, The judicisry is indeed very free the govt of today does not attempt to manipulate them.

Buhari was a better president to Obj and Obj is easliy the biggedt failure

We never experienced power outages as we currently do, as power supply was good during my regime and that of late General Sanni Abacha”

In IBBs time what percentage of the population had access to electricity, up till 1999 many communities in Nigeria had no access to electricity.

In IBBs time a lot of the youths were in the villages unlike now, everyone is in the city.

This has shown his inability for deep thinking, because if he and Abacha had made the necessary investment in the power sector in the early 90s the problems we are having now would be non existent. He and Abacha laid the solid foundation for the failure of the power sector, what he is attributing to himself was the result of govts before him.

who initiated and indeed, executed Shiroro?”

Can you imagine Dokpesi wants to rewrite history, the shiroro project started in late 1982 or early 1983, its not possible that he initiated it, the project was supposed to be bigger than that but he only completed what Buhari was doing and took the balance of what would have been used to expand it, the Shiroro project is not complete. Dokpesi should try convincing us on his principal not confusing us on activities in the country.

Dokpesi is right the time has come for us to elect credible and tested leaders, but sorry his principal is not credible and he is a dailed leader!!!
Politics / Re: Inec May Instal Cctv Cameras In Polling Booths by marvix(m): 9:41pm On Oct 23, 2010
We dont need CCTVs at the polling booth, Mr Igini has only started makin noise since that was what brought him the job he can continue with his noise.

The same INEC that has not been able to award contract for DDM, wants to complicate now with CCTV, maybe he thinks he will just go to market and buy.

This is the problem activists always face they dont fully understand issues before jumping at it.

A simpler and more sensible way to achieve this is to commision the TV stations to cover all polling units, and submit their videos, then to start this u set up a department or unit to handle this informations and this unit or department can then blossom to handle CCTV.

We must learn how to build lasting institutions, is it that we have not been having video coverage of stolen ballot boxes before.
Politics / Re: Minors Flogged For Hawking In Abuja by marvix(m): 2:21pm On Oct 22, 2010
But y is everyone voting no, should we no more enforce discipline or maybe the judge should have ordered that they should be fed and paid the value of what they had in the tray.

Justice is a blind ass, he does not care who its dealing with that the way its supposed to be, can you imagine ordering that the kids should be put in school at govt expense by the next day what would we see on the street, would we be solving the problem or escalating it?

avwerosuoo:

This is pure madness, the kids shld not be flogged, instead Govt shld be flogged, Are the so called officials not ashamed to flog the children? It's not their fault, God help us,

Who is d govt that u want flogged?

Reference:

This is sad. I really don't know what to say. But why are we doing this. These are children. Please, these are children. They are not responsible for their plight. They have not stolen government money, they have not ruined banks, they have not mismanaged oil earnings. All the economics they know they learnt in traffic jams. Hell, they did not ask to be born. They just want to survive. They want to help mum and dad, uncle and aunt, they want to buy shirts and shoes, not private jets or mansions in Dubai. They want something to eat. They want a chance in life. If we don't want kids then we should not have them.

As for government good luck to you. Discipline for the future generation, indiscipline and corruption now. Continue to lead by example. When they meet Cecilia in jail and compare notes let us see if indeed her offense is only 6 times theirs.

If they stole govt money or ruined banks or mismanaged oil earnings would flogging be the appropriate punishment.

We should not be sentimental on issues like this, the law in Abuja says that kids should not hawk, its actually an embarrasment to d nation, this AEPB task force have been catching them seizing their wares and releasing them without flogging but they keep coming back, If you read the article properly you will see that they would still be in custody until their parents come around.

What we should insist on is that the kids documentations should be taken down, the parents data taken and whenever this kids are caught again d parents should be found.

U will also realise that the kids pleaded guilty, its just a process, the kids could have pleaded not guilty and go ahead to indict their parents, the govt and the society, a judge cant give judgement with disregard to the plea of the accused, Ibru pleaded guilty to only 3 counts and she got 6months for each, that is plea bargaining.

Put it in proper perspective the kids who have been flogged can cry on their parents that they would not want to be flogged others who contemplate it would be scared of the flogging and that is the beginning of their understanding that there are rules in the society, and if we must know there are some places where they are allowed to hawk.

To me its an insult to our society having under aged kids hawking no matter how bad the economy is, if u cant take care of a child must you bring him into this world?

PS: Do not have kids you cannot care for.
shotuns:

Nelson Madela again!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha, life must be really interesting ooo

Just to clear the air, did it occur to u that these kids could just give fake names, that could sure be a smart move,

I say beginning of the end for Okah, cant wait for his arse to be tied to a stake and burnt.
Politics / Re: Henry Okah Nailed by marvix(m): 1:27pm On Oct 22, 2010
First of all I am surprised that all the haters of Goodluck and all those who never see anything good in Nigeria have witheld comments on this since morning.

These are facts emerging and I am happy the way investigations are going on, at least it shows that GEJ knew what he was saying when he said it was a sponsored terrorist action and not a militant struggle for the niger delta.

Okah does not love the country neither does he have love for his region as investigations have shown, a gun runner who supplies arms to fuel wars in his region can not be our activist for a better enviroment.

I hope he is really found guilty fairly and summarily executed I believe SA has not abolished executions, and here in Nigeria all those found guilty in as much as complicity of allowing a criminal to sleep in your apartment for one night should be tied to a stake and shot this would serve as a detterent.

Those who lost their lives will never come back no matter what we do but those who did this dont deserve to live.

Is making calls a crime now?

This is Nigeria my brother, what if the young boy was there to describe the suspects, do you even realise the weight of this investigation.

Someone may really be interested in knowing who and who the SSS have in custody, the investigation here still involves people the SSS may not know abt, the masterminds may be working on eliminating the direct accomplices of those in custody.

Who says a secondary school student can not be making calls describing the details of the suspects, the SSS may have felt compromised by his position and would need to fully debrief him check who actually he was talking to.

We want Nigeria to move forward yet we dont want people to their jobs.

The SSS is interested in solving and getting to the root of this matter, terrorists acts are not the same thing as armed robbery or even bank robbery, what more can I say?

Ms. Potato:

With your sttitude as such, I dont think any girls like me would want to date you. . .

Now come to think of it, sll the more reason on why should I actually cherish my bf cause I dont think theres anyone like him!

U dont know my attitude, and u have jumped into a wrong conclusion.

That being said i think u are lucky that the guy has.

There are different types of people, there are some who believe in sharing whatever they have and ur guy is just one of them and he is lucky to have enough to share, check him out yourself he still gives out to his friends a lot, he may have a problem of friends always borrowing from him and not paying back.

A man always feels good when his woman walks up to him and makes a demand and he is able to meet it, no man enjoys receiving from a lady and if u are a lady always helping ur bf out with hand outs watch it, he may not be happy about it, some gestures are more important and it may be because u are more expensive than he is, he wont feel comfortable around you.

I love girls who are able to stand on their own, who can say clearly what they want, not waiting for me to make decisions, they should know where they are going, not just thinking of marriage as though it is the end of their life, while they do all this they are able to put themselves in proper perspective with your aspirations as a man.

What will you do with your money if you are not helping someone? and if your girl is not taking money from you who will be taking money from you? so when next he gives you money offer to buy him dinner out, a nice underwear a small gift or a special session. lipsrsealed cool grin wink wink wink

@poster are u for real?

I have been looking for a girl that would think like you.

When girls expect that because there has been some action there should be pay, I just say in my mind hows a prostitute different, guess just that she puts a price to it.

If you are for real can you introduce a friend of yours that thinks the same way with you to me, Imagine a banker gf who is not a contract staff calling me to help with money, when i needed a loan for barely 24hrs she cldnot raise it but would not hear that I was not bouyant at the time of the request, well i have put her out of my mind because she said stuff i never expect to hear from a lady I was contemplating marriage.

kindly forward your friend or if you want to quit pls let me know I will never give u money unless u ask for a loan and i would put pressure on u to return it if only to use it to buy u a gift or take u out.
