What do we want from the govt, wheather we like it or not Govt must keep spending money.

Printing new notes is not a bad idea as a lot of us are always irritated when we see old notes or find it difficult to have change and have to quarrel with bus conductors and taxi drivers when there is no change, I am sure a lot of us has not noticed how the lower denomination seems to be everywhere any time i enter a bus I am pleasantly surprised when a conductor would gladly give 3 N50 naira notes as change.

Those talking of priorities must take into cognicance that because a task is num 10 on a list it must be done after task num 1.

Let me explain; for instance priority num 1 is build a power plant and num 2 is build a refinery and priority num 10 is printing a new N50 note for the independence anniversary. The power plant can not be completed in 6weeks or 6months and the refinery also would have to be designed on paper maybe after taking a location and then identifying the source of the funds to complete the project but in printing new notes we have been printing notes already so all you have to do is go to the account being used to print money and allocate the necessary funds then give a directive to the printers and Oct 1st new N50 notes are ready, even though it is number 10 on the priority list.

Nigerians there is no where in the world where the RICH will be imPOVERished or where the POOR would be enRICHed, all over the world the RICH will always be enRICHed while the POOR would always feel imPOVERished, so the decision is yours to make do you see your self as a RICH getting RICHER or as a man in POVERTY getting IMPOVERISHED.

If this is really true why did Atiku think he could run for president in 2007 or even in 2003 as it was agreed then that the NW would take over from SW, it only shows that your position and insinuation is not only false but misleading.

Zoning according to the Governor of Niger State is a political strategy of the party and not a political right of any group or region.

If the Igbos want to be president they should build up a consensus candidate who would have national appeal and who would be able to play the Nigerian politics and not any sectional or sentimental politics.

This Ribadu scenario brings Adams Oshiomoles scenario in 2007 to mind, was there anyone as popular with the masses as Adams was in the run up to the 2007 elections, the answer is NO!! but he understood politics and went to his state, Edo and contested to be gov, won the elections but was rigged out and he finally got the seat after court battles.

My candid advice to Ribadu is to join the CPC, work with Buhari, pick a senatorial ticket for himself, deliver his senatorial district to CPC, even though Buhari would go ahead and lose the elections Ribadu would have achieved two things, he would be associated with a former leader who hates graft, and would become a senator who would be our voice for anticorruption in the senate.

Ribadu can insist on being a member of the ethics or anticorruption commitee or any committee in charge of the anti corruption agencies, then when we have Haliburton and other scandals he would speak as a senator and supervise the Waziris of that time and be seen to be fighting corruption from within the senate chambers.

By 2015, the southerners would want the presidency again, but by then Ribadu would have cut his teeth in the Nigerian politics and would be able to stand as the northerner to deny the southerners the presidency in 2015, by then we the masses and general electorate would hold the ACE and decide based on his report card from the Senate if he should be president or Fashola or Oshiomole or Duke and by then Buhari would have now seen a perfect stooge whom he can campaign for and rely on to do the right thing, but first he must have proven that he could not be corrupted by the corruption in the National assembly.

All Ribadu fans pls note that Ribadus ability to become president depends on the ability of Jonathan to become president, our problem in this country goes way beyond corruption it is more about the way politics is being played, this Yaradua changed in his style of leadership, this was what Jonathan understood when he played the politics of Yaraduas sickness so Ribadu should understand and advice himself.

Goodlucks speech is a revolutionary piece, it takes the fight home, notice how he did not tell us about his place producing oil for the benefit of the nation, see respect for his former boss, respect for his opponents, no wild promises of 24hrs power supply before december 2011, but a loud proclamation that together we shall all fight for justice.

It seems to me like the guy made a sacrifice in vain , glo is not going to make any changes, all the big boys in glo are happy; why bother about some guy that has only been in the company in a year. The sad thing about working anywhere in 9ja is that there is no regulatory body and as such u r on your own . Babaginda was the architect of fuel scarcity in this country when he could not by being forward thinking build more refineries, Abacha was the foundation engineer who ensured that we became importers of the worlds rejected fuel, Obasanjo was the clownish builder who raised the structure by adding high level corruption to fuel supply and painted fuel scarcity with subsidy removals.

Is it not worthy to note that the govt of Yaradua and Jonathan has not gone ahead to remove subsidy, they have not also made us beg that they remove the subsidy like Obj always made us do.

Fuel prices moved twice in this administration and both times went down.

It is important that we remove the subsidy but has this govt forced it down on us, instead they have engaged in dialogue and this dialogue still continues.

The issue with 12b or 120naira should be accountability.

The 12b for independence anniversary can not deny us funds for building schools if we want to, or roads if we want to.

I feel very disappointed when educated men like you sound uneducated, do you really think that buying three presidential jets can hinder the salary hike, come to think of it,if it is the money to be used in purchase of jets that would be used to implement the salary raise then we can as well forget it because that amount can not take the salary raise for six months.
All I am trying to say is that a budget for one item should not be seen as a hindrance to another, just like Jonathan has said the salary hike is in the supplementary budget and once passed by the senate the workers would be paid in Arrears from July.
If we must grow we must stop this local mentality that because a govt spends on defence, education must suffer, that is what Yaradua preached in his 7point agenda.

The challenge is who do we want representing us at our senatorial and federal constituencies.

I have always cried out that people like Utomi, Falana, Umar, Ribadu and other men of proven character should leave the presidential race alone go to your people, convince them to give u a shot as a representative then come to the centre stage and shout out.

Will Utomi agree with Senators increasing their salaries in 24hrs while docs are on strike, would a Duke be in d senate and we wuld be arguing abt wat happens because Yaradua is sick.

Not only at the national level but also at the state level and LG levels, let us demphasize the executive office but rather place more emphasis on the legislative arms because truly this is where the power comes from.

When we are able to actively vote in this people when they start misbehaving we can also recall them back home.

I have interacted with low level police officers who served with him in bayelsa and all they said is that the man Rigim can never be corrupted by money, he was the first commisioner in Bayelsa who ensued that every officer got their right share of the christmas bonus always given out by govt, as AIG he never tolerated any CP bringing cash gifts to him as head of an accounts section cant really remeber wat d guy called it he never autorised sharing of unapproved monies or excesses, he is known to have dismissed a lot of officers for disciplinary breach without looking back, moeso he was not CP we Jonathan was gov but was wen Jonathan was deputy. was only assigned to Bayelsa to pick up Alams and make sure d state remains calm, just imagine if he had been involved in corrupt pratises with the gov, Jonathan has made anoda bold move.

Regrettably, it turned out that Major-General Muhammadu Buhari was too rigid and uncompromising in his attitudes to issues of national significance. Efforts to make him understand that a diverse polity like Nigeria required recognition and appreciation of differences in both cultural and individual perceptions, only served to aggravate these attitudes.

Major-General Tunde Idiagbon was similarly inclined in that respect. As Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, he failed to exhibit the appropriate disposition demanded by his position. He arrogated to himself absolute knowledge of problems and solutions, and acted in accordance with what was convenient to him, using the machinery of government as his tool.

Let me now address your attention to the major issues that confront us, so that we may, as one people, chart a future direction for our dear country. We do not pretend to have all the answers to the questions which our present problems have put before our nation. We have come with the strongest determination to create an atmosphere in which positive efforts shall be given the necessary support for lasting solutions.

For matters of the moment which require immediate resolutions, we intend to pursue a determined programme of action. Major issues falling into this category have been identified and decisions taken on what should be done.


As seen in the highlighted sections IBB observed that Buhari was rigid without considering the PECULIAR nature of NIGERIA, he also observed that Idiagbon carried on like he had answers to the questions troubling the nation but he and his group did not have all the answers to the questions.

Now with hindsight we can see that Buhari/Idiagbon knew the problems and were already solving before IBB came in to the picture.

conclusion is IBB is a curse to this nation and that is why if i had to vote a northerner for president I would vote buhari ten times over before i check even if IBB is running.

Today we hail Ribadu but if Ibb hadnt come into the picture the average police man would have been a ribadu when u have a leader lke buhari/idiagbon.

Ibb did us a disservice and he should ask God to take his life because the future generation he reffered to then are here now bein born into hospitals that are less in standard than the consulting clinics of his days, the education sector is not only decayed but it rots our resources have never been more uselessly wasted and the gap between himself and the average Nigerian is the gap between the super rich and the pauper.

Ibb is a sad part of our history, Buhari would have made this country a force to reckon with in the world stage without subjecting us to unsolicited and wasted loans, we may as well have been a Saudi of Africa!!
