Politics / Re: Deregulate Salary Structure Of Lawmakers by marvix(m): 8:11pm On Nov 29, 2010
The RMAFC was not set up only for political office holders but for the nation.

The Federal legislators are ot employees of the Federal government in the real sense of it, but are representatives of districts within a state, and in the real context represent the aspirations of their people with relation to the nation, this implies that when push comes to shove they are supposed to represent their communities in determination of equity.

The reason for bringing up this topic is to check the excesses of these senators who seem to want make themselves the law of the land, there is need for cdhecks and balances in our system.

Who do senators actually report to, they are just a waste of the nations resources, they put the ptrsifrny in check but I dont see anyone putting them in check

If the nation also can not guarantee minimum wage for all workers in the country,, can not guarantee uniform pay for all lecturers in the country, cannot pay doctors a uniform rate in the country, then what justification do we have for paying them so much uniformly.

What does a senator from zamfara wants to do with the same allowances as a senator from Lagos, houses are meant to be cheaper in his own state where he represents and where his family is supposed to be domiciled should have food cheaper, while a senator in lagos would have to pay higher to acquire the same status of house in lagos and food for his family more expensive, so his pay should be higher.

Also senators should be placed on a civil service scale for their respective states such that when ever there is a payrise in workers salary thats the only time they would also experience increase this would give them a stake in labour agitations.

Instead of Labour to keep agitating for improved welfare package they should mobilize Nigerians to demand that elected representatives be placed on the civil service scale.
Politics / Deregulate Salary Structure Of Lawmakers by marvix(m): 7:55am On Nov 29, 2010
In the light of the deregulation of the minimum wage being proposed by the Council of state, it is my own humble suggestion that this should be extended to lawmakers nationwide.

Lawmakers should be paid by the states they represent and these states should fix the wages of these lawmakers, while state lawmakers should be paid by their LGAs and the LGAs should determine what they can pay their representatives.

It just doesnt make sense for an employee to determine his salary and approve, yes they can make requests to the approving authority which for the national lawmakers would be their state houses of Assembly, while the state would be their local govt council, but the people in those houses would now justify the pay.

A scenario where a lawmaker absents himself from session without any due clearance and tenable excuse will have his salary withdrawn or suspended.

This would make lawmakers inthe country to sit tight and do their jobs more efficiently and if their salary scale is placed inthe nations Civil service case it would help Labour because what ever labour is able to achieve would have to impact on their pay.

This humble contribution is open to ideas and suggestions on how to push this, maybe if we can truly have a SNG this should be the kind of issues to be discussed instead of breaking the nation along ethnic lines.
Politics / Re: Jonathan Offered Sng Delegation $50,000 Bribe - Sahara Reporters by marvix(m): 7:32am On Nov 29, 2010
, And even if he gave $50,000.00 so what?

If I invite people i believe can help with my campaign at least their transport and accomodation can be arranged by myself and if they have done that what is wrong with compensating for their time spent.

Jonathan is not a poor man, he has already done a fund raising for his campaigns and people have donated generously, so the money could have been taken from campaign funds or wherever and if Pastor Bakare feels that his concience could be bought for $50,000.00 then he is a fucking cheap pastor.
Politics / Re: Buhari Hits Jonathan, Atiku by marvix(m): 7:19am On Nov 29, 2010
Yes Kobo, Buhari is right, but does he have a better option, can he sell the option, your merchandise is only as good as you can sell it.

Let us take this into consideration, "IBB and Buhari represents our distant past, Atiku represents our immediate past, GEJ represents our present and immediate future while Ribadu represents our nearest future" Lets not mix these up.
Politics / Re: Where Is Donald Duke? by marvix(m): 7:11am On Nov 29, 2010

klas:

Has Akpabio never had of file copy before? Atiku did not make public appearance immediately after his endorsement. He only released a statement that 'he was humbled'. The press used a past picture of him when he was still in AC that they had in their archive since that was the apparently the nearest picture they could get of him jubilating

It is the same thing we are saying, Atiku still represents AC with a broom not umbrella, so he may actually have to wait another 4yrs to be considered a full fledged party member committed to the party ideals, one arguement that could stand strong against him is if given the presidency on a PDP platter can we trust him not to decamp when we have disagreements in the future?

Remember that when Jonathan was placed in a tight corner when his boss was sick Jonathan never took a direct attack on either his boss or party, hence who is a better party man?

Presidency is not just the president, the vice president is also part of the presidency, so we dont need a northern, ibo or nigerdeltan presidency but a national presidency and GEJ/Sambo is our national choice.

McKren:

I think you are confusing PDP primaries with General Elections.

You have no clue what went on in Anambra State election so lets not go there.

The PDP delegates and machinery in Anambra are under the firm control of Ekwueme and Soludo and there is nothing Jonathan can do about that before PDP primaries.

Soludo lost election to a sitting incumbent Governor who had the capacity to rig himself for office extension (It is the old Nigerian story and says nothing new). It says nothing about Soludo's popularity in the South East and believe it or not Soludo is the crown prince of South East politics. Ekwueme is simply trying to pass the baton/torch light to him.

Jonathan will certainly fail becuase only a master of Politics can lock the votes of the South as you want to suggest. Folks in the South know that Jonathan is not brilliant enough for the office he occupies and we certainly need better. Atiku is surely better than Jonathan.

The wonderful economic team of the OBJ era was put together by Atiku, from El-Rufai to Ribadu to Okonjo-iweal to Soludo. Most of these people were sourced by Atiku and he was head of the economic team before he unfortunately engaged in his senseless fight with OBJ.

Jonathan is a disgrace to the office he occupies.

How could u believe the bolded portion and now expect that they would be able to useat an incumbent in a primaries

Politics / Re: Rewriting History by marvix(m): 1:22pm On Nov 27, 2010
I wish I was there, I had relocated from Abuja ealier this year, if I was in abuja I would have been there.

My presence there would have been to let you know that a vision is for an appointed time, and the Nuhu Ribadu vision is for an appointed time and that time is not here yet.

While we wait for the appointed time we are not supposed to be sleeping, but we are expected to be preparing ourselves for the task, Nuhu Ribadu needs to prepare to become President.

Jonathan is only interested in the presidency for the 2011 elections, he is willing to sacrifice all the PDP controlled states if that would give him the presidency, there are a lot of Govs, Senators and members of Assemblies that need to be sacked, GEJ agrees with this but he would not conceed the presidency not even to his father if he were alive today.

Ribadu yes did a good job with the EFCC, but is that enough to land him the presidency? That is the honest question you need to answer.

Ribadu can represent us the youths in the Senate, we can all go and register in his senatorial district and mobilize to campaign for him and ensure that he wins the senatorial seat in 2011 and have him represent not just his district but the entire Nigerian youths at the senate and we can use that position to judge his abilities as a politician and he would also learn a lot about handling opposing views.

Let us put this in proper perspective, Ribadu of 2011 is not more popular than Oshiomole of 2007, but Oshiomole was wise to know that the presidency can not be won by just popularity, but instead chose his state where he fought gallantly and despite being rigged out initially he was able to regain his mandate, now we are assessing his ability as governor.

If Ribadu goes ahead to contest the 2011 elections and lose he would be known as a loser, and may end up even a sore loser.

Let us not kill the vision ourselves, A mothers need for her child to be delivered does not make her induce labour when the time is not right, it could easily lead to an abortion and a premature baby is not as healthy as a fully matured baby, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu needs to be politically matured to handle the presidency of Nigeria
Politics / Re: Jonathan Denies Facebook Comment by marvix(m): 12:33pm On Nov 27, 2010
Boboribo, first and foremost his statement on fb didnot attack any politician, it is called a campaign, but where an aide openly says in his personal capacity as a Nigerian that Atiku should be in jail should not be ascribed to Jonathan.

If Jonathan wants Atiku in jail he does not need to make news about it in the papers, Atiku is sleeping on his bed because Joanthan allows it, if not he could be on exile like Ibori.

Might may not be right, but the man who has power does not brag, Jonathan was the same person who approved a waiver for Atiku to come back to PDP and be able to contest, do u actually know what the PDP constitution stipulates for members that have decamped, maybe their constitution was right anyway, Atiku should not have been granted the waiver if his only camapign tool is zoning.

Jonathan is right, he is saying if you want to insult an opponet of his do it in your capacity, dont represent me, I wld rather throw Atiku into confusion instead of wishing him in JAIL!!!!
Politics / Re: Jonathan Hits New Low ! ! ! by marvix(m): 12:05pm On Nov 27, 2010
If the report is true Jonathan has just given us a straight form the heart gist.

Why are we so selctive when complaining, what would you have the president do in Ogun and Bauchi, declare a state of emergency and why should he look the other way in Osun and why are there no complaints about it, we must realise that the states are to a level independent and dont report to the president, his role should be advisory.

He has said it clearly YOU CAN UNSEAT AN INCUMBENT no matter what, why should the SNG waste their energy trying to unseat him, it just is not possible. how can they unseat an incumbent?

What Jonathan is asking is that let us for once in Nigeria allow a popular candidate win an election freely and fairly, because any attempt to make him the popular and front line contestant who is also incumbent to lose the elections will be resisted with the maximum force.

All Jonathan wants is to have the presidential elections won by himself without having to resort to ballot snatching and electoral irregularities.

So he gave them $50,000.00 and how much is that? if he invited them and wanted to pay their transport and lodging allownce how is that a bribe, must they collect and do his bidding, No,m but if they have rejected it it is ok. If you come to my house and I offer you a drink and you reject it should i jump into the lagoon.

What does Atiku represent? what does Goodluck represent? that is the question we should be asking.

If Atiku wins the PDP primaries then prepare for massive rigging in the elections because Atiku does not have the popularity to win the elections freely, but if GEJ wins the primaries in a fair contest Gej has the popularity to win without rigging.

Atiku stole PTDF funds his only defence is that his boss stole more, Atiku built a university in Nigeria where only the super rich can send their kids to while he was part of the govt undermining our universities, Atiku privatised NITEL without paying off the staff, Atiku accused the PDP as a den of vipers but today is in their midst, Atiku hosted COJA with N40b in 2003, we could go on and on, Atiku does not stand for anything good in this country.

Goodluck hosted a world cup tournament withN17b and we had change, he celebrated the golden Jubilee withN10b and all monies were duly accounted for, Goodluck is on the fore front in the campaign for credible elections, Atiku was a major part of the rigging machinery in 2003 and was working for the same machinery until he was told the rigging machinery would not be used to deliver him in2007, Goodluck runs an open administration, Goodluck patiently waits his time, Goodluck is privatising PHCN but paying the workers off first, Goodluck has allowed us to take fuell supply for granted cant remeber storing fuel in the house anymore, Goodluck has given hope that we never knew about, come on we need to change but drastic changes are unsustainable, and we could even be changing from bad to worse.

GBAM!!!, Well spoken my friend, If Ribadu can win the governorship of his state or senatorial district this 2011 that would place him on a good pedestal to contest presidency by 2015.

He could quit his seat at senate or Govt house and run for presidency, at that time we should all be able to judge his performance from where he is coming, but to just jump at the presidency is the beginning of the failure we need to avoid as a nation

This is what annoys me reallyy, ppl see the real issues and comment with centiment all because it has to do with jonathan. Rubbish, in as much as hes a good leader but im sorry this is not the solution, the universitites on ground are they functionning well, institutions work, sort the issue of stikes out, fund theses univeritites. Wer are they even going to get the human capital to teach in those unis?,most employers are complanning that Nigerian graduates are not employable yet all we can do is establish more universities. Make the present most of them have left the country for better career oppurtunites outside the country. In my uni here alone there are bout 6 nigerian lecturers. Its easy to establish uni but how do u maintain them wen the present ones are not functionning properly. Another issue is that most Nigerians dont even believe in the issue of government university, dey are going private. Its meant to be about making the present institutions funtion properly. undecided

And you believe the bolded portion, you sure are one of the dunces the Universities in this country has produced.

The present day employers of labour what did they know when they were fresh graduates? some of them could not speak good english as we can today, they didnot know jack about technologies as we know today, it is a big fallacy, there is no where in the world where fresh graduates are overly employable, fresh graduates need on the job training once they are out of school.

You dont employ a fresh graduate and expect him to start running a department he is supposed to be trained.

The idiots spreading this falsehood and totally blackmailing fresh graduates are the same people who were employed by the govt in the 80s and sent on various training schemes to develop them but today that they are now in those positions to recommend and approve training for us they decide to embezzle such funds send their underaged children abroad and turn around to call us unemployable.

In the 80s when NEPA was just starting out they recruited fresh graduates from Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics and started them as pupil engrs where thye received their training since 1995 to date no other such recruitment has been done, when u are recruited through the back door they just assign you to a ladder carrying team and u start learning how to disconnect power from peoples homes, the recruitment is supposed to be biennialy, so that as the older ones are leaving the younger ones are taking over.

Please let us not belive the crap that Nigerian Graduates today are unemployable, infact we are overemployable, we know our due and we know our rights.

The University in Bayels is a good idea but siting the university is only the first step, I have always said it that doing one thing does not mean we cant do another, building a new University does not mean that funds meant for refurbishing and revamping older universities must be used here.

That is why there should be a budget we all understand and we can track.

OBJ and EFCC together tried so hard to stop CORRUPTION and they failed woefully that today corruption strolls d Nigeria political space bragging.

That CORRUPTION is ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR.

Nigerians are we not going to stand out boldly and stop this man?

The same ATIKU that told us he is a man of his word.

His word was this in the run up to 2007 elections "The PDP is a den of vipers" in 2011 he now tells us that "The PDP is a lover of the nation that was ahy zoning was agreed to by the party".

Nigerians let us send a strong message to himand his type that we are not interested in his lies as a matter of fact if he can win 2011 I will support him for the 2015 elections because he has a right and if he thinks and wants us to belive that he can forfeit his rights then he should as well forfeit this ambition.

A facebook president?
Illiteracy is beginning to show.

I wish he would discuss more important things about Nigeria like the questions Atiiku asked him about why the budget was not being implemented.
This man will be worse than Sarah Palin and George Bush combined.

Let us start with how did Atiku and Obj implement the budget?

Did we even have emprical data on what they were doing with the budgets, it was yaradua who started asking that budgets should be assesed at the ministry levels, he even had to direct that all ministries submit reports on how they access their budgets and what they use it for, that was when it becam clear that the ministries just used budgets anyhow and since Yaradua was insisting on due process a lot of the ministries and agencies that were not used to doing this could not access their budgets.

My uncle is a top official with PHCN, in 2009 PHCN could not access more than 15% of their total budgets because they were unable to clear with due process on their funds, the ministry that had the highest budget accessibility was Ministry of Agriculture, they organised a seminar where they were adviced that NOBODY has to wait for the budget to be passed before starting and concluding bidding processes for jobs that need to be done that has been included in the budget, just go ahead and start doing all necessary paper work so that as soon as the budget is passed you are ready to acess ur funds, the next step is now to analyse budget utilization, so if the MDAs can access 80% of their budgets in a year then the next analysis would be to check what was the utilization, this was what yaradua was working on, and Jonathan is still on course for this.

If Atiku and Obj had started this sort of reports in 2001 or 2005 by now we as ordinary and average Nigerians would clearly have an idea of what Ministry is actually utilizing their budgets.

Atiku was and is a failure because the administration he served in as Vice president is a collosal failure.

The politics has started.

Let us not forget Atiku said he is back, the one OBJ and EFCC could not stop. Let us think deeply and realise that the only thing OBJ and EFCC tried to stop without success is the CORRUPTION in Nigeria, guess Atiku is telling us that he is that CORRUPTION.

Politics / Re: What Has Jonathan Achieved So Far In One Year In Power: by marvix(m): 1:38pm On Nov 25, 2010
When Babaginda came in 1984 Nigerians were clamouring for men with fresher ideas i believe we are all living witnesses to the fresher ideas, revolutions does not solve problems they only replace a problem no matter how big with a bigger one.

Jonathan has been there barely a year, we can point to available petroleum products at stable prices some of us are asking how can that be an achievement for a product that is over subsidised, now did Jonathan increase the subsidy, or was Obj not supposedly paying subsidies while we were sleepin inthe fuel stations.

Jonathan would not solve all our problems in 4 or 8yrs, or what would we be living for if all our problems are solved, nation building is always going to be Work in progress.

Jonathan is the best bet, democracy and the presidency of the nation is not just for the best man in the land, the best man in the land has to be in contention, there were better Americans when Clinton, Bush and Obama became presidents of America, so in Nigeria there would be those better than Jonathan so if you can not accept this fact can you kindly pick a mop and start mopping the river Niger, if that is too small you can try the Atlantic ocean to keep u busy

Nairaland / General / Re: The Twin Evils Of Federal Character And Zoning. by marvix(m): 9:25am On Nov 24, 2010
Zoning and Federal character are not the problem of this country, greed and selfishness disrespect for institutions and rules are indeed the problem. It is neither the north nor the south that is the problem of the country but individuals from both sides of the divide.

What zoning and federal character set out to achieve is to eliminate domination by any group of people, the example of the super falcons is not enough to expunge the federal character, the federal character comes to play where in a selection of 20 out of 200 you need to have criteria for selection, for instance if we had 2 good female footballers from the north out of 200 and 120 good female footballers from Edo state alone should we select all 25 players from Edo alone? My answer is No the northern girl should be given a chance, its like the world cup we have a lot of better teams in south America and Europe but that did not stop the world body from increasing africas quota in the championship.

Every Nigerian has a stake in Nigeria, and we must all feel accepted and involved in developing our country, we are brothers from different mothers but with the same father or great grand father, we have a lot more that brings us together than what tears us apart.
On the presidency my take has always been that there is no such thing as a northern or southern presidency, we always have a national presidency, we make a mistake ascribing the presidency to the president, the president and the presidency is not complete without a vice president, so in 1999, the presidency was national it had both the northern and southern parts represented.

We all like to look at the president as a big bully who can get all that he wants, sorry in a democracy the words of the president is not law, the president is only as powerful as the weakest member of his cabinet, the president can not just deploy resources to his own state without recourse to a process, the only advantage he has is that he can facilitate development to his area but this can not be done with a neglect to other regions because the other regions are equally represented in the government. Can we imagine the president budgeting the national budget to develop only his state, in a democracy that budget must go through the national assembly and does anyone think that the members representing other regions just allow these sail through, impossible!
Let us leave the federal character as it is but develop a system that allows the best of the best be considered at any point in time, the Federal character is the basis why we have every state at least producing a minister to the FEC, so we cant possibly state that a state no matter how under developed and uneducated can not provide a ministerial candidate.

@marvix,
what u have done above can only be summerized as; BEAUTIFUL NONSENSE.
when people say that george bush fought the iraqi war, does it mean bush went to iraq as a soldier? are u saying ibb was surposed to be an engineer for u to agree that nhe built third mainland bridge. obasanjo's regime brought gsm on board and that i know and that many nigerians know and that will remain in our minds until u and your group prove otherwise.
assuming everyother aspirant apart from jonathan is a criminal, don't u think the devil we all know is better than this angel we know nothing about. in his six months or more as the president of nigeria, could you please in a very simple language, point to one or two things you know he has achieved.
if jonathan approves the N18,000 minimum wage, who will be known for that.
obama made promises of improving the unemployment rates in the usa and improve their diplomatic ties with the whole world, don't you think he will be judged with the result at the end of his tenure?
if u call obasanjo the single biggest tragedy of a nation, why do u still believe in his choice of candidate(jonathan) and why do u think jonathan will not be a bigger tragedy?
in 1999, obasanjo was selected among other nigerians by a few military cabal and in 2003, he used his power of incumbency to rig himself back to power. in 2007, he brough two unready candidates in yar adua and jonathan as president and vice president respectively. 2011 obasanjo is up to impose jonathan on us, how do u relate these situations to the democracy practise in the countries u mentioned above.
what sense did u end up making in all u wrote above if you have nothing to show for his time so far as the president of nigeria.
jonathan declared emergency in the power sector, how long does emergency take? maybe eternity? i can authoritatively tell you that the popularity of jonathan is only based his loyality to obasanjo and i will wait here for you to quote me wrong pointing facts and figures.

1025, I must let you know that by this post above, you confirmed yourself an educated illiterate and your types are the ones that make governing this country a very difficult task.

To your comments I will take them one by one;

george bush fought the iraqi war, does it mean bush went to iraq as a soldier?, War is a major policy of Republicans in America, is building or was building bridges a policy of IBBs regime, any idiot who wld have been president at that time would have had no choice but to build the bridge, the finance was available and the need for the bridge was there, If you want to talk of IBBs policy what you should talk about is the SAP and his lending from the IMF, the loan he took was what Buhari strongly resisted before he was sacked and IBB took the giant step of taking a loan, devaluing our currency and instituionalising corruption those are the kind of things you should ascribe to him not building roads, bridges or health centres, what are the ministry of works, health education and co meant to be doing? If Buhari had remained president do you think the third mainland bridge would not have been built? do u think IBB had a personal ambition for building the 3rd main land bridge or can you tell me who built the 1st, 2nd mainland bridges?

You also count GSM as an achievement of Obj, If alex had been allowed to rule in 1999, do you think he would have stopped the GSM revolution, guess what the GSM market had nothing to do with govt, the technology was more readily available in the late 90s, ask in foreign countries when did the mobile phones catch up with everyone, watch an American movie produced in the early 90s you wont notice gsm phones but watch later movies you would find American films produced in 2000, 2001 using phones like nokia 3310, what does that tell you. The major error educated illiterates like you make is that you equate the cellular phone to the GSM phones, they are two different technologies.

Obj had nothing to do with the GSM revolution other than making money from the whole process, he sold licences to the communication companies at $285m in 2001, we should ask him where is that money, it was supposed to be used to improve the power sector but what did we get additional N10b was unaccounted for.

If Jonathan improves the minimum wage that would count for nothing with me, it is the illiterates that count that kind of thing as an achievemnt of the president instead it is an achievemnt of d govt, dont forget yaradua actually was the one that instituted a committee to look into workers welfare to advise govt on living wage for its workers, so i count stuff like the amnesty of Yaradua it was a policy and a president like Obj or Atiku would have opted for a war to finish while Yaradua toed the path of peace, no matter what you say this is Yaraduas era, Jonathan is trying to have his era come 2011.

That Yaradua was imposed, did it conclude the sale of refineries initiated by Obj to his cronies, did he not reverse other sales of national assets, did Yaradua who all of u claim not to have accepted move the price of fuel down twice, did the imposed Yaradua not stand by the rule of law even when his party was losing cases in court, did he send soldiers to level communities in the delta because soldiers were killed, the funds seized by an Obj who was elected fairly in 1999 was released by this same impostor, then why should i cry for an elected president when an impostor could do better. who instituted the PIB.

1025 u missed it in thinking 2011 is the last bus stop, nope we still have a long way to go broda, first we have to have a fair contest where the incumbent can win and win freely, then we can go ahead in subsequent elections to either sack an incumbent party in 2015, or sack an incumbent president in 2019, nothing that happens too fast ever last long.

Jonathan must be president in 2011, there is no opposition that is yet ready to unseat him, some presidential aspirants already know that they will be casting their vote for Jonathan.

Let us not over flog an issue, in a free and fair contest Jonathan would win the presidential election and you must also know that a free and fair election is where Nigerians vote as Nigerians not as hausas votin for hausas or ibos for ibos that would not qualify for a free and fair contest because if ur tribe is d majority then u are the winner.
Politics / Re: Even As Military Head Of State, We Acted Under The Law -buhari by marvix(m): 4:29pm On Nov 17, 2010
Beaf you cant possibly be talking of Buhari like this.

Politics aside Buhari is one of the best leaders Nigeria has ever been able to produce, Buhari is a better leader to Obj.

Beaf your responses did not even take into account all that he said in the article posted here.

Even Buhari acknowledges that Jonathan has shown seriousness in conducting credible elections, he also advised the elites to go and campaign and deliver their constituency instead of lording it over all of us, he also acknowledged that his regime as a military regime can not be compared to democraatic dispensation.

Dora worked with the PTF and refundede funds given to her for an operation she did not carry out again, I look at that act as a pointer to the type of person her boss is, and we must all acknowledge that particular money was not missen and that was a major plus on Doras CV in the run up to the NAFDAC job.

Buhari is a worthy alternative to Jonathan but head or tail my vote goes to Jonathan for President 2011, maybe If Jonathan quits the race, then Buhari can get my vote.

Beaf be a little bit civilized there is no politician in this country without sin or suspected sin, stealing our money is not the real problem, being an ineffective leader is!!!
Politics / Re: 2011: Pdp Plans 10-man Panel To Screen Aspirants by marvix(m): 2:34pm On Nov 17, 2010
Is anything wrong with PDP screening their candidates before the primaries.

Should they just alllow any tom, beaf and junkie contest their primaries.

I would even suggest that they conducted aptitude test for aspirants interested in going for legislative offices, because if you cant solve simultaneous equations you sure can not handle the dynamics of law making.

Let PDP do whatever they want, the party is trying to get their footing right this time, let the opposition parties show some seriousness in their interest to unseat the PDP.
Politics / Re: Government Agency Recuitment Test In Lagos State. by marvix(m): 8:44pm On Nov 16, 2010
This people are here writing a test that people have already been selected for.

If you are an individual that have been offered this employment while others are in the sun you are a big part of the problem called Nigeria!!!

Why is the Police, SSS, NIA Customs and all other agencies conducting theirs simultaneously in other venues this would at least reduce the crowd in one place at a time.

I weep for my nation Nigeria
Politics / Re: Can Gej Become The President Without Rigging The Elections? by marvix(m): 10:46am On Nov 16, 2010
GEj can win a free and fair contest in 2011.

The real question is, Is there any candidate in the lot that is prepared to win a free and fair contest?

Is Atiku, IBB, Saraki counting on a free and fair contest, Buhari can not win a free and fair contest, the only man capable of winning a free and fair contest in 2011 is Goodluck Ebele Jonathan!!!

The 2011 elections is supposed to be the opportunity of the opposition, but have they gotten their acts right the simple answer is NO!!!!.

The opposition should either present a strong and credible candidate that can give PDP a run for their money or tactfully support GEJ in the run up to the 2011 elections.

A lot of us just analyse based on states and ethnic lines, 2011 has the opportunity of being 1993 again, if u can see it u can believe it, but if u cant sorry i cant open ur eyes cos the last time I checked I am not Jesus!!!

If a president builds the 3rd mainland bridge how is that an achievement, was he the site engineer or project designer, for all we know he made a lot of money for himself and his cohorts building the bridge, democracy is not abour roads and electricity and that is where we all miss it as a nation.

Libya does not have a democracy, yet basic amenities are taken for granted, they dont complain of bad roads, we cant say a govt is working because he is building roads or paying salaries, what we should look out for is policies of the administration, economic impacts of the administration, social security and all sorts, I dont think anyone talks of American president building the longest bridge or who was the head of govt in UK when the underground tunnel was built, these are achievements of engineers on duty.

Obj is the single biggest tragedy of the nation, If GEJ has to pet him to get there GEJ should kindly do that. To attribute the GSM revolution to OBJ is just an illiteratic attribution.
Politics / Re: Who Will You Vote For In 2011 by marvix(m): 8:55pm On Nov 11, 2010
I will vote for GOODLUCK!!!.

Quote from Gbawe,

Another thing . Why are you surprised Ribadu is second? Are we actually taking Nigerians for fools ? Even with his "inexperience" it is clear that Nigerians understand that Ribadu will fight our greatest nemesis, corruption, with vigour and sincerity far better than all the other candidate aside Buhari. Jonathan will falter . He is only enjoying sentimental votes at the moment because , in the end, sensible Nigerians , on the ground and in pain,  will not vote for a weak and incompetent President who has the most corrupt Nigerians as his backers. All of you voting for Jonathan please , if you are detribalised Nigerians who care for all regions, tell me if his handling of the Ogun State impeachment is satisfactory for even a half-decent President.

Can you deny , with his inaction, that Jonathan has clearly sided with Gbenga Daniel who is his campaign manager in the SW region? Do you backers of Jonathan not see what he represents for Nigeria with how he rewards dangerous judicial gangsterism rather than check it decisively before others are encouraged to copy suit?  If we really inspect the facts it is obvious that Jonathan has done nothing exemplary as President !!! Who has been brought to book for the Yar Adua health debacle ?  forged budget signature and all?  He has no history of dynamic performance. Why did Jonathan , with Nigeria's serious crime situation, appoint an IGP who is inferior , academically and performance-wise, to his senior officers?  GEJ is highly averse to fighting corruption. In fact he is backed by Nigeria's most corrupt men. Anenih is Jonathan's backer . Nigerian roads are in a pathetic state because of Anenih's looting in the past . What is Jonathan doing with such a ruinous man who has killed many Nigerians through road accidents?

We know Jonathan is highly profligate and that is dangerous considering he is backed by corruption INC. He is anti-democratic and not averse to using odious tactics that drags Nigeria backwards in his quest to retain his job by all means. The worst is that those who have gotten us where we are  (eg Daniel, Anenih, OBJ, Alao Akala, etc , etc ) will be allowed to continue with their looting, gangsterism and misrule if they help Jonathan actualise his ambitions. Nigerians better wake up and eschew ethnic mentality of "we must vote for our son" or "we must keep the North out of power"  .

Gbawe on Jonathans decision not to investigate or bring anyone to book on the Yaradua helath saga is just a case of letting the sleeping dogs lie.

Jonathan proved to be wiser than a lot of you guys on NL wit the way he handled the health saga, if he had joined the fray and handled it otherwise either by heating the polity, the conflagration may have been worse than a catastrophe where even you would not be looking forward to an election where Ribadu would be a candidate.

Jonathan is the man who can achieve with all the evils in the land, politics is never about right or wrong, not about friends or enemies but about policies and dreams, aspirations and ambitions, In politics there are no permanenet friends or enemies, ask Oshiomole, the idiots who ruined Edo when Lucky and PDP was in power have all decamped to the AC and will continue what they have been doing, the best Oshiomole can do is accept them in the party and allow internal party democracy deny them but these individuals are ruthless.

2011 is not the future we await just like Goodluck is not the Messiah Nigerians have been waiting for, 2011 is a fore runner to that future we await and Goodluck is the fore runner to the messiah, Gbawe you should ask yourself, If Goodluck can not convinently insert a clause in the electoral law considering his party as the majority in the NASS, he could not get his way with imposing his campaign head as chairman of the governors forum, would he be able to impose a president we dont want on us, My answer is impossible, he would and should win the 2011 elections freely but would gallantly lose some states where the PDP has failed woefully, lose some senatorial and representative seats in the NASS where the opposition parties have done their work properly then by 2015, the INEC would be stronger and the opposition more focused and GEJ would gallantly give away the presidency to an opposition party whos hould be able to provide the messiah.

That is why my advice is Ribadu should bid his time by making himself relevant as a senator representing his district, 2015 would be an interesting election if we have a Ribadu running against a Duke, having an Utomi/Fashola as VP, are we considering an Adams Oshiomole as a running mate to a Presidential Candidate like Sanusi Lamido common the 2015 elections is what should be prepared for today.

if you have a political ambition the best time to come out would be 2015, because 2011 is the election where PDP would be cut to size, it would be the beginning we missed in 1999, when PDP is cut to size the opposition would see a need to come together, real progressives within the PDP would either quit the party or control it.

2015 is truly the magical year if you have Ribadus ear advice him to bid his time, remember Jesus was baptised by John.
Politics / Re: Atiku Emerges As Nothern Consensus Candidate? by marvix(m): 11:00pm On Nov 10, 2010
Donmeca:

I see a point here. Compare this era with obj/Atiku ere and u will give credit to jonathan. He congratulated Fayemi on his victory. . .it gives the new gov a sense of belonging. Obj/Atiku wud av told everybody that it is no over. . .that pdp will soon capture Ekiti. GEJ is more law abiding than all of them. The North may have chosen the best of their three four sons but they have not given us a better candidate than the incumbent. People like me won't change for the sake of it. . . we will change from bad to good/ good to better and not the other way round. Atiku is totally worse than GEJ and thus, will fail.

Donmeca u finally trying to agree that indeed Yaradua is the father of modern Nigeria, a better nigeria, where political differences would not affectr our national decisions, Yaradua was the first president to ask a sitting gov from his party to vacate office peacefully, Andy Uba.

The selection of Atiku just shows that the North has no better alternative to Jonathan.

A man who almost threw the country into chaos because of his disagreement with his boss vs a man who stood by his boss while he was easing him out of offfice,

A man who spent $40b hosting COJA vs a man who spent N17b hosting world cup and gave us change after the tournament

A man who said he didnt steal as much as his principal vs a man who said he didnt steal anything.

Nigerians the choice is yours, as for me and my family and friends we have chosen to stand for a breath of fresh air, Goodluck Nigeria!!!!
Politics / Re: Sanusi Lamido Faults Sir Olaniwun Ajayi On Northern Domination by marvix(m): 10:19am On Nov 05, 2010
Thank you Jarus for your post, kindly send me Sanusis speeches that you have my add is marvixus@yahoo.com. I will really appreciate it, the guy is genius and a philosopher.

All those who think otherwise should read in details what he has written in the past before jumping into conclusion. Sanusi right now is been treated the way Buhari is been treated and this is not fair to them.

Nigerians want solutions to their problems but are blind and would not like to read to understand the next person before labelling him as an Islamic bigot and all sort.

The youths must rise above ethnicity, religion and primordial sentiments to lift this country out of the mess we have found ourselves, the northern agenda should be pursued in the interest of Nigeria so also the southern agenda, we must respect evry others opinion and judgements, people deserve to live in a way they choose but their freedom should not infringe on anothers freedom.

Jarus kindly mail me the speeches I am waiting.
Politics / Re: Sanusi Lamido Faults Sir Olaniwun Ajayi On Northern Domination by marvix(m): 1:43am On Nov 05, 2010
@Sapele guy ignorance is bliss, no one is praising Sanusi for writing as a CBN governor, do you know that he has been writing on political discourse since his days at UBA, before he ever dreamt of becoming a CBN gov?

I followed a link put up by Jarus on this thread and to say the least I am impressed at Sanusis write ups, he sure knows how to place facts above fictions and when reading his piece u see clearly the line of fiction that you thot was real before disappear and the line of reality comes up.

His analysis of what happened in 1998 at the PDP primaries would tell you that he is not a Northern Chauvinists as people want us to believe, he is a completely detribalised Nigerian.

Sapele guy go follow up the link and read one of his presentation to Northern leaders in 1999 when they were preparing for a national conference to get an insight of what goes on in his mind.

@T9ksy what do you see yourself as, A yoruba living in Nigeria or a Nigerian who is from the yoruba speaking part. This would always affect your approach to issues, you feel you dont have a stake in the project called Nigeria, but there you are wrong, If Nigeria fails today the yoruba state would not last long.

@Adconline, do you know what Sanusi said in 1999 when Obj was made president go to the link Jarus provided, Sanusi attacked his people from the north for denying Ekhueme the presidency by conniving with the Yorubas to see the Ekhuemes presidency as a biafran agenda and then preached compensation for Abiola as a reason why the presidency should go to the Yorubas, but guess what the Northerners then laid aside all rules to ensure Obj became president, now all rules laid by them will also be set aside to allow a Niger Deltan become president in 2011.

Sanusi is a detribalised Nigerian with a mind of his own, he is a very fair commentator who would not fabricate information to win an arguement.
