I'm happy for you and confident you can now guide others. I did 2yrs visa for my parents in May and twas successful too. By just following what I shared with you, there shouldn't be any problem. I'll tell my parents to watch out for you and your mum in the uk grin
I was worried because my mum is a pensioner and she doesn’t have much in her account. All I did was to attach my own statement of account and said I would be responsible for all her spending. I live in the Uk, just want her to visit.
Congratulations to your mum and dad. Thanks once again.

Good morning my people. I just came to thank @Cerezo and you all for a good input when I asked few questions about how to fill Uk visit visa for my mum.
She submitted her application on June 10 at Ikeja (Standard application). She got her passport yesterday, with 6 months visa which was issued since June 27. This was her first application.

Hello, I just got a 3 month France visa and 30 days stay. It will be my first time travelling to france. Please kindly advice on cheap hotels and fun places to go. I will be going with my 2 little kids. What if i want to take them to disneyland. What hotel is closest to it? Any advice to save cost will be appreciated. I want to spend just a week for our summer holiday. Only because i dont know anyone there
Google and browse as much as you can, it will give you ideas on where you can visit.
For hotels near Disneyland Paris, it depends on your budget. There are hotels inside Disneyland itself. There is also a town in the outskirts of Paris known as Torcy, it’s very close to Disneyland. We stayed at B&B Hôtel Marne-La-Vallée Torcy. It’s not far from train station and very close to Disneyland.

Hello great people, happy Sunday to you.
My dad just submitted his Uk visa application today. Can he walk in to Ikeja tomorrow and pay the 42k as I read here? What is the assurance that he will be given access to the walk in submission? I want to be sure because he will be traveling from another state. I will appreciate answers please. Thank you .

I'm going to try and respond to each of your concerns because i did something close in 2016 and it was granted.
1. Just say you dont have that information or one option close to that.
2. Do a budget for the trip. For example, she will need about 47k for visa, 250k for flight, and at least £200 for upkeep while with you. Do the maths
3. Try and sponsor her fully. She can attach her statement of account just to show prove of address and income as stated in the application form.
4. Attach both accounts and dont forget to menetion that you often send her money from your naira account. If possible, try and show how you fund that naira account.
5. Reduce her stay to between 10-14 days. Remember it's her first time, the longer she stays the more funds you have to show to accomodate her.

Lastly, please attach a document to show she's your mum, like birth certicate.

Please note that these are my own personal experience, others can share theirs.
Thanks so much for this. Very helpful. Thanks once again

Good evening house,
Please, I’m trying to fill a standard visit visa for my mum. I’ve read through this thread but just need some clarifications:
1. Both of my grandparents are late, so does it mean I must still include their names under her parents.
2. I want to sponsor her. Is 850 pounds okay for the whole trip since she will stay with me (accomodation and feeding)?
3. Must she co-sponsor this trip or I can singlehandedly sponsor her. Note- She can sponsor herself from the account balance she has, but since she is retired and most of her savings come from me and my siblings, I was thinking it was better to stand as a sponsor.
4. Must I submit both my Uk and naija bank account. Reason is that, I usually send her monthly upkeep to her from my naija account.
5. What is the maximum amount of days/weeks she can use? This is her first visa application, so I was thinking of 3 weeks. Is it too much?
Thanks for your response(s)

Please I need a clarification on this:
For those of us that just graduated, do they expect us that didn't go for convocation to still pay for gown before we will collect our certificate?
Then, can I authorize someone who stays in Abuja to collect the certificate on my behalf?
Thanks for your reply.

@justwise

I have been assigned a certificate of sponsorship from my sponsor and want to apply for my Tier 2 visa. The issue is, the job start date on my CoS is 2nd January 2018 but I cannot apply before this date. I can apply on the 5th or 8th January. The CoS will expire in March.
Can I apply after the stated start date if it is still before the expiry date of my CoS?
Well, I applied days after the start date on my COS and I was still approved. Provided your COS is still valid, my sponsor said the start date didn't matter. You can ask your employer to attach a sponsor note to your COS giving a new start date.

Dear Justwise, Ekpotek, Brightingsus and other gurus in the house,
My husband and I are in the U.K. On tier 2 visa. Our child is still in Nigeria because we didn't apply with him due to some circumstances then. My question is, can we apply with him to join us now. I'll definitely go home to attend the biometric with him. We want to apply for him under Tier 2 dependent- child. Thank you

Dear fellow nairalanders,
I've been a silent reader on this group; even before I had the opportunity to apply for tier 2 visa which looked like a mountain lol. Maybe because there was no thread that is specifically for tier 2 visa applications. I came to this forum and asked few questions. I want to share our timeline(me and my wife) to encourage others.
Biometrics- 09/10/2017.
Acknowledgement mail from Sheffield- 11/10/2017.
Decision mail from tls- 24/10/2017.
Passports with visa collected on 26/10/2017.
I acknowledge God for being ever faithful. I thank justwise and other people who answered the questions I asked here. God bless you all.
NB- We submitted our biometrics in Abuja, went with a lot of documents including photocopies of our previous passports, wedding and other family pictures, offer letter from my employer, evidence of accommodation mail, cover letter etc. They didn't collect them at all the tls office. The only documents they collected were:
1. Front pages of our visa application print out.
2. Valid international passports.
Marriage certificate, COS print out and TB certificates were only collected, scanned and returned to us immediately. I was so confused and angry at the same time. I asked them why they didn't allow us to support supporting documents we brought, but the lady that attended to us said that according to the new rule, they didn't need any other thing.
I became so worried and to crown it all, the decision was made within 2 weeks of biometrics.
What I learned from the whole thing is that, when God says the time to do something is now, no one can say no. I'm so grateful to Him.
I pray for all those waiting for their visas too, that you will hear good news too. Amen!!
Congratulations!!! I'm happy for you

How long did it took. I am hoping there is still slot for my course interactive design. Though it is started in the international website that it's still open.
Can you also help me with the direct international number? I need to know the exact fee for the course because it not stated exactly on the course page
I don't have their international number. Since they said the application is still open, then I'm sure it's still open.
I always mail them on this address, and they do reply within 2 days: InternationalAdmissions@conestogac.on.ca

1. If you are LEGALLY resident in the country you are aside being on a visitor's visa and your resident duration will not expire before the processing time as indicated by the visa office there, you can apply from there.

2.Writting a SOP to convince a VO is nothing as compared to when you show evidence of the tie(s) you have to home country. So if you have family, assets, investments, business, etc, Do well to show proof in you application. These are the strongest ties you can possibly have.

3.It will not just be better, It will be BEST!. If you consider using the PGD, alot of factors will be considered and will be raised by your intentions and your profile. I.e your years of experience, when you finished undergrad, etc. You'll have to satisfactorily make these add up and show that a PGD is right for you at this time.

I'll advise you wait for the master decision, if it's positive, use it. Your chances will be higher.
Thanks so much bro. I'm legally working here and my resident visa is still valid for the next two years.

Hello fellow nairalanders,
I just got admission at Conestoga College to study Enhanced Nursing practice - Clinical and Critical Care. I have Bsc Nursing and PDG in Education. I do not base in Nigeria presently.
My questions are:
1. Can I apply for study permit in the country where I presently base, or I should come down to Nigeria to apply?
2. How can I write a strong SOP to convince the VO, especially on the issue of strong ties?
3. Do you think Masters in Nursing admission will be better than this PDG? I also applied for Msc Nursing in a Canadian University, awaiting their decision.
I'm looking forward to answers to my questions. Thank you.

The posts I read here have truly been helpful.

I intend to submit my application by next week. Graciously, I got full funding from the school for a one year Masters program. I will also attach my SOA since I have been working for quite some time.

My challenge however is home tie. I'm single and I have not included any landed property in my application since I have none. However, I have already included the following documents to prove home tie: Pension statement, Employment and promotion letters, Letter of introduction from a professional body, Family info form(parents and siblings all resident in Nigeria). Would these serve as good home tie?

Please I need your advice
Plsease how did you get your full funding?
