Oh no, you get me figured out wrongly. I am a Jonathanian. I only embraced PDP because of Jonathan and Jonathan alone. Without Jonathan, PDP is just another APC. We must not forget that APC as it is constituted is a toxic blend of ex-PDP+Tinubu&Buhari (A lethal concoction).

Oba is a Father of all Lagosians, and lost our respect when he chose to support one son against the other. Let's not forget that we are a Democracy, and NOT a Monarchy. The Oba is NOT a recognized office in the constitution. Do not also forget that as long as we are using the 1999 constitution (as ammended); any Nigerian is a citizen of any state he/she chooses to live in and has right to contest for office there as far as he performs his/her constitutional responsibility of paying taxes.

I am more Lagosian than most of you who have not even hired a single Nigerian, not even a fellow Yoruba person but are quick to say..."Lagos is yoruba land". Can you afford a plot of land in this Lagos ? If you can, then you have a stake, and you are a Lagosian with full rights of Lagosian and Nigerian, fullstop.
abuse the Oba as much as you like,he brought it to himself, but in yoruba land you are ARA EKO not OMO EKO.

#Mynd44 has a funny grasp of this topic.

The Oba of Lagos is the paramount ruler in Lagos by designation. However, he doesn't control what happens in the different divisions outside of Lagos Island. He will simply direct issues to the paramount ruler in that division if brought to him.

Go and meet the Olu of Ikeja for example if you bring Ikeja matter to him.
Thank you jare.

I guess you missed where it said the Oba of Lagos if the Head of all the Obas in Lagos state.

You know what, never mind sef
no I didn't miss that,he is the chairman of the traditional ruler's council, that doesn't make him the head of all the Obas in Lagos, just like the AU chairman is not the head of all the Presidents in Africa.am a Lagosian, are you?

Oh the title changed to Oba when the Capital of Nigeria was moved to Abuja
please don't turn history upside down, the link you provided said nothing like the title was changed to Oba when the capital was moved, eleko of eko simply means the Oba of lagos,Eko is Lagos in yoruba language, the Oba of Lagos is not the Oba of Lagos state,Badagry is in Lagos state he has no influence there, same has Ikorodu and Epe.

But why would mods allow this kind of thread to continue? Where did Buhari tell op this kind of news? No source, she just woke up from her nightmare shouting Buhari and she wrote all this? Very pathetic.

You need not hide behind Niger delta when it is very obvious where you are from.
if you can comprehend English very well you will observe that am answering a question on why yorubas can't tell the difference from a ND man and a SE man,and I answered as a YORUBA man,do you understand now?

Which Yoruba wan fight against Biafra? We would be glad.
like seriously we would be really glad they go,i doubt if south south people and when I say south south that exclude edo and delta, will want to be dominated by Igbos in biafra.

Please let's allow them ooo before they start asking all the Oba in yoruba land to come and dance in the market.

People attack the South-South and the South-East for voting en masse for GEJ with little knowledge of reasons behind their act. The South-South and the South-East, to an extent, want fiscal federalism and regional autonomy and GEJ was the candidate who was favourably disposed to that idea. Once upon a time, a third region was also vociferous in their demand for regional autonomy and state police, but I never heard GMB said anything on this issue, yet they voted for him. I wonder if their demand was a scam! For those who think corruption is the problem, it will interest them to know that corruption is only a symptom of a sick system. It's akin to fever which shows that something is amiss in your system.
oh please I stop reading your post at a point, Jonathan is still there, he still has six weeks to go,let him get us true Federalism, you guys can lie,at the national conference the Igbos never supported true Federalism or regional autonomy, please make use of Google for records of what participants from south east said on that, only southwest and south south were angling for it out of the three regions.

Its just unfortunate that most yorubas don't know the difference between a Niger Deltan and a typical igbo man.
that is a big lie,the difference is as clear as 7up vs coca cola,

A Niger deltan will always do everything necessary to make sure u are aware that he is not Igbo, they are mostly humble and easy going,an Igbo man is much more noticed and business minded.

But this man calling himself the head of Ohaneze in Amino odofin, this are the people fueling this issue, the palace of the Oba has spoken that the statement was misconstrued and you are still demanding for a documentary, we didn't destroy your property during the war,is it because of Elections we would now destroy it?never has Igbos being attacked in lagos so why now?

Asking or demanding for apologies from the Oba which is a taboo in yoruba land, will never work because rather for the Oba to apologise they will rather commit suicide.

Mbu is a disgrace to the police force, why would any sane human talk less of an aig instill fear in the populace? The people of Lagos had no reason to be violent with or without mbu they will conduct themselves, is mbu trying to tell us there is no commissioner in Lagos?

People are different, bro. Some Igbos, like myself, were born here in Lagos; others were brought here. So u can't expect all of us to have the same mentality. I, too, used to believe Yoruba girls don't go outside their tribe until I met my girl, who's now my fiancee
my senior bro is married to an Igbo lady, same as my cousin, most of the Igbos I know that are born in Lagos think differently from others, they are more Lagosian than a yoruba man from Ibadan the camaraderie between Yorubas and Igbos in Lagos is stronger than an Igbo man who grew up in Enugu and a man from Ibadan.

Who is Mr Akiolu that he can not be criticised especially with that silly threats which you patronising dishonest bunch are calling jokes?

This man is oba to Lagosians, he is not the oba of Nigeria.

Obj was made fun of, caricatured and compared to apes, he laughed it off. Jonathan and his wife were abused, swore at and called as sorts of names ranging from..clueless to illiterate but heaven did not fall.

Both Obj and GEJ were president to nearly 200m citizens of Nigeria with different obas, Ezes, Emirs and other Chiefs. Heaven didn't fall when these men were turned to comic reliefs even when they haven't done anything to warrants the insults.

Can you compare your oba of Lagos to these men? This man had contributed to the reason why some police men wear flip flop on duty, torn uniform, faded shirts and rusty weapons, if he wasn't oba today, what would he be doing?

Why couldnt he act like a wise elder and control his emotions and utterances. You people respond as if there was a sort of coup de tat or conspiracy to dethrone him.

Who is oba of Lagos that people should keep quiet when he says nonsense?you threaten people with death and guys are calling it jokes? Some phhools are talking about burning properties , looting and killing as if that would solve the problem.

Why don't you people leave the Igbos alone and face your problems. Anybody looking for a fight should go to Kwara state and put an everlasting end to the incessant rampages of fulani herdsmen.
no one said he cannot be citizen or his statement was right,it is wrong and he said he was joking, must we then kill him?

The mods keep pushing this particular topic to the front page just so they can get much traffic and boost their blogging business. I'm Igbo and I live among Yorubas, even my fiancee is Yoruba; out here, we joke over it. I even bought a life jacket to spice the humour. You guys should just stop making noise online
am not,i even condemned what the Oba said, but trust me some other people are blowing it out of proportion not only online.

You guys can whine ooo, protest in London over a Joke,we all condemn what he said but you guys are taking it too far.its better you stop,You are costing Agbaje votes by your actions.we treat our Oba Bleep ups not you,we ve condemned his statement and he retracted it,do you guys want his head?
PoliticsRe: ‘enough Of Igbo Disruption In Lagos’ - Yorubas Outside Nigeria Speak by masseratti:
If you guys don't understand that article, let me help you,an average Yoruba man care less who an Igbo man vote for in Lagos but abusing the Oba of Lagos will not be tolerated by Yorubas in lagos, people present said the Oba was joking, the comment has being condemned by all,but threads bashing of the Oba continued,Yorubas will take it as a contest between Yorubas and Igbos,Yorubas still hold the Ace in Lagos,we should move forward please.

Aside the excessive audacity which breeds arrogance and pride with Igbos, This is the part i like about Igbos...Everything is business...let truth be told. Igbos are way ahead in business in Nigeria.

I entered Ladipo market one day and couldnt find one shop owned by a Yoruba man in the two hours i spent there. I think business is genetic for them. can you remember the ''my oga at the top stuff'' while some of us typed on the internet, Aba boys were thinking business. Mbaka spoke against GEJ, few days after, (Mbaka but why T. shirt was all over the market). They seem not interested in white collar jobs like every other tribe. If we have more entrepreneurs, the faster we come out of the corruption in public and civil service.

When i finished NYSC, i was retained in the bank with one Emeka boy..I remember during the interview, one of the panelists said, Emeka, you are supposed to be in Aba or Alaba, what are you doing here? the Igbo jokingly said, its capital am looking for..six years after, the Igbo boy resigned, we never knew he was combining banking with real estate business..on saturdays he was a house searching agent. he told me he sold two houses in Ikoyi and resigned...

Till i left the bank, his salary account was in millions...doing so well in business, the latest he told me last year was that, one of the panelists in that our interview is now his account officer...I just love the business part of them and maybe the way they adore their wives and children. They take family very seriously. Emeka is so wealthy and lavishes his wealth on his wife and 3 boys. Needless to say he inspired me into business and i am doing well too, but not anywhere near Emeka.

Throw them into the Lagoon and see the potentials of that water developed by them. Business is a spirit in them most of us find difficult to appreciate.
God bless you,btw am a Lagosian an apc supporter but I want change on state level too shalom.
