According to the Bible, luxury is ungodly. Read the whole of Matthew 6, especially verse 24. Though I'm not a believer, I believe any Pastor who embraces wealth is a hypocrite.
The true Christians are some of those missionaries who brought Christianity to Africa, they sacrificed everything they got and had. Go and read the Bible these pastors use in getting followers well; the be a man of God, you have to sacrifice everything worldly, even the ones which are gift, it is all about humility, doesn't mean they should live a wretched life. Besides, it's not every gift one should accept.
You cannot be wealthy and make heaven too, they are mutually exclusive.

I believe most of these so-called Pastors don't even believe in the Bible they use in preaching, cos if they do they won't dare practice and acknowledge some of the worldly things they do, it's obvious they have no fear of God and they know religion isn't sacred.

Sadly, the country is in recession. My only grouse is that these girls were not informed prior to the tournament that there will be no monetary reward this time. Nigeria has got much more important issues to deal with....like the over 2 million starving IDPs living in conditions similar to concentration camps.

Those of you who think it's insensitive for the government not to pay these girls, maybe you should show the same passion for the hungry people displaced by Boko Haram. This is not the time to throw dollars around, the country is in a recession. At least, these girls had all their expenses incurred paid for by the government, and they are also well paid by their various clubs. They don't know what hunger is.

I have read people say that these girls have "worked so hard, and sacrificed so much for the country". There are soldiers earning a pittance and fighting Boko Haram, they deserve some dollars for their hard work as well.

O my God. My brother has over 500k in. I refused to join because I see it as a scheme for the greedy. I was not scared of losing out but I was scared of stealing out. I didn't want to be responsible for other people's failure if I succeeded in running away with other people's money before the crash.

At least I'll share my bag of rice and the goat I bought from Buygoats with him for Xmas.
