It's official. Buhari has come to fail. While I opposed his government all along I still had some splinter of hope that he could make some difference. Alas! It's the same old tale associated with those who destroyed this nation. |

Loan? Go come. For now it would sound like good news. The only persons that would truly benefit from the loan if it is wholly released in cash and at once are those who use it to ease their way out of this life-draining country. Nonetheless, good luck.

No need for reconciliation, it won't do much. There already exists within the party a pungent stench of suspicion, distrust and betrayal. Everything now is flaky, and would remain so until its inevitable split in a few years. Just concentrate on the forthcoming elections as though there was no crisis. Reason, you can't meet the reconciliatory demands of shortchanged party members. Too late. More meetings, deepening discord.

They should keep creating more enemies for the state. Soon it would implode. This government is obsessed with partisanship. It sees everything from a political prism including something as crucial as security.

Politics › Re: Demons Speaking Through Buhari, He Needs Prayers – Fani-kayode by mastermaestro(m): 1:22pm On Oct 17, 2016 |
I think Buhari's blundering statement is being overblown. His only fault was that he made it in public and worst of all in a western society where women's rights are upheld more than men's. Barring that, most Nigerian men say this repeatedly in the presence of their wives, friends and relatives. Again you cannot divorce a man from his cultural beliefs irrespective of social class attainment or education. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Anita Oyakhilome Remarries - Dawn-To-Dusk News by mastermaestro(m): 2:39pm On Oct 16, 2016 |
cyrilamx: [s][/s]Pentecostalism is a disgrace to Christianity. Martin Luther will be turning in his grave now seeing the fragmentation, confusion he set rolling.
At least in Catholicism you hear of priests' betraying their vows of celibate chastity (or secret marriage which make the church defrock them) which are also prevalent in Pentecostal fold, but you rarely hear of divorce scandal in Catholic Church.
I know many without thinking faculty or dearth of church history will come for my head...I careless.
It is really sad how supposed "men of God" romance with divorce with reckless abandon. Worst still they will still be applauded by their hypnotised followers.
Why can't the numerous fragmented body of pentecostal fold have a unanimous theology...or is it the Bible they interpreted different what is causing this fragmentation? Because of Pentecostalism has strong and United visible authority like the Catholic Church, erring pastors will be disciplined. But what do you have, every pastor want to be G.O, his own authority.
Because it is easy to open a Pentecostal church at least with little or no training, any pastor discipline for misdemeanours will simply leave the group and set up his/her own outfit called a church like Anita has just done. Is this what Jesus prayed for in whole chapter of St. John's gospel 17? His high priestly prayer for unity?
It so sad that pentecostal pastors now divorce in courts and also marry in court. In Catholicism it is believed church marriage which is sacrament of matrimony supersede civil marriage and the indissolubility of well consummated Catholic union cannot be overemphasised.
Tomorrow pastor Anita will still have moronic followers..you see why pentecostalism makes Christianity a mockery before non-Christians. [s][/s] Silence conceals myopia, shortsightedness and bigotry. You should embrace. |

Family › Re: Why Do People Enjoy Opposing Others' Choice Of Spouse? by mastermaestro(m): 7:43pm On Oct 14, 2016 |
It's a huge mistake to totally ignore observations of your loved ones concerning your choice of partner. Don't try to shut everyone out of your decision-making in this respect. If you do, you will regret it! I have a handful of married people suffering in marriage presently because they chose to decide alone by silencing all disagreeing voices. It's a heap of ruins they are immersed it now.
Of course the final decision rests upon you, but let others tell you what they see about it. A preacher friend of mine complains to me about his wife all the time. He regrets now that he didn't listen to his family when they told him how the woman would be a pain to him later in life. Today he comes to me anytime he needs solace and soothing words of comfort. He can't complain to any member of his own family about his marital ordeal.
Don't ascribe to yourself the role of the wisest man/woman in your family. Hear others out, your salvation could be wrapped up like akara in their 'silly' advice. |
Family › Re: Why Do People Enjoy Opposing Others' Choice Of Spouse? by mastermaestro(m): 7:17pm On Oct 14, 2016 |
Fantastic observation! Well let me outline a few reasons. One, they are more rational than you in the particular circumstance. While your judgment has been beclouded and flawed by sexual and emotional fog, it isn't so with them. Two, if the marriage turns out to be a disaster, they would be the ones to clean up your mess and carry your baggage. Nobody wants to be burdened in the future. Three, they love you. They fear that they might 'lose' you to a possessive spouse, which is a possibility. Four, where you are the breadwinner, everyone would show inordinate interest in your choice of spouse. Everyone would fight hard to make sure you do not go with a spouse that shows a tendency to cut them off from your feeding straw. Five, the world is a community. You just cannot be an island! It's inborn in everyone to want to influence the decisions of others whether selfishly driven or otherwise. |

Good people usually end up with the worst, while the best always falls into the hands of wise people. Your goodness does not guarantee sweetened relationships. Learn wisdom from folks around. Stop throwing yourself open to every love-looking deal. With being good alone your fingers would always get burnt.
Be more rational, wear a smart hat, share the steering wheel, quit sitting back to watch one good-for-nothing Looney crash you into another wall of heartbreak. |
