My argument for women taking on men's last name is to justify it by making women slaves. This is commendable but it should have happened sooner and more often. Fighting and dying isn't a joke. Our leaders must be able to see what it is life so it can inform how they hold their cabinets responsible.

Even with a US or UK passport, they still recognize our names and often see the Country of Origin...and still discriminate. That tells me that our diplomats are either useless or not entirely useful. You need to ask citizens to document all these things and submit them. You need to prioritize this when receiving new ambassadors ...how can we make it easier for our citizens to enter and leave your country? We need numbers for our diplomats to call for backup when denied entry.

Our diplomats only work to collect salaries and to help themselves, their families, and friends gain access. Sadly, you are ON YOUR OWN for the rest of the citizens.

Anyone could have predicted fraud with some of these programs. What always amazes is the lack of diligence in the execution of programs. If students are awarded NELFUND, why not have a NELFUND office within the schools to administer and pay into the school accounts. The only business the school needs to take care of is verification of student enrollment and submission of documentation.

The NELFUND office within the school with 2 support staffs can work on disbursement. Someone needs to be able to verify if students have withdrawn from courses. The support staffs can even verify accommodation needs and all. We were about to do NIN successfully at schools, so I am shocked we couldn't administer loans without majority of the funds diverted. The schools may claim the said students owe for previous sessions, but they need to provide documentation, and you cant just send funds to the school anyhow.

Nigeria is not responsible for his crime or crimes. It demarkets the country. They can liase with the Nigerian Embassy, but I do not see why they need to say a Nigerian man did this or that...a non-citizen or foreigner is better. You create this context where everyone see Nigerians as criminals.

For PDP to rise from the ashes, it needs Delta's allocations. Delta gets the most allocation from the FG plus derivation. Given that Okowa spent so much and still lost, it seems like the current Gov has no plan to fund PDP which may be another reason for the defection lol.

This is where we differ in thinking. The King lords over his dominion. While the FG, States and LGAs get money, the Monarchs also get a share. Part of the expectations of Kings is to see to the improvement of the community. I know a Baale that build a Health Center, revitalized the market square, and working to increase agricultural production.

Govt cannot do everything. We all have a role to play. Like you said, you all had to install cement poles. In the perfect world, we would all pay taxes, have health insurance and private companies will take on these responsibilities but we do not live in a perfect world, far from it in Nigeria.

My village is planning to install Solar Lights (30). Each family will try to donate one. Now imagine a Nigeria where we all do that, the rate of crimes may just drop significantly. I have fixed things that ought to be govt responsibility myself. Bought multiple poles to move lights from transformers, small bridges for cars to access streets and drainage. I have even donated gates on both sides to seal streets at night. I do not live in the area but I have interests. That is the attitude we all need to have, not waste money on things that do not benefit the community.

I beg to disagree sir. The King has made a good move, but I am of the opinion that it is not his responsibility and neither is it the responsibility of private citizens to fix such roads, whether major or minor. Why do we elect leaders in government?

First we must ensure that the right political leaders are in place. If we elect leaders with plans to make our societies better, then Kings like this decent one should not stress themselves. It is the business of the governments to ensure that roads and infrastructures are fixed for the better living of the citizens.

When such good men spend their resources, room is given to government officials to write invoices and claim that such projects were done by then. They loot the money and are never held accountable.

It is up to us the citizens to hold governments responsible for their failures. We have leaders from the governors to councillors, who must team up to ensure that our roads and other social amenities are in place, otherwise we will continue to suffer the effects of horrible leaders nationwide. It is the same situation everywhere in the country, where private citizens spend billions to build roads and government wakes up suddenly to claim such roads as government property.

A few years back, the wooden electricity pole in from of my house was bad. We kept worrying NEPA to change it and they refused. One day we replaced it with the concrete one. The next thing, NEPA officials came a few days later to claim ownership of it.

We must thank the King for his kindness and effort to make life easy for his people, but we must learn to make government do its job.
