I agree and I don't understand why we do not plan for maintenance. It is so easy. Charge those using the shops service fees of N100k to N200k per year with rent. Give the contract to a maintenance company and have them clean and disinfect the stalls every day after shop closes. You provide jobs to some of the youths, create more companies ...the only issue in Nigeria, we usually give the contract to the same people which prevents the spreading of the wealth, so the Rich gets Richer and the poor gets poorer

Thank God he sent his location to family ...they would deny he lodged there...my point is ..if he had made a call at the receptionist saying I'm at so so so...they won't have killed him knowing they will be hunted. They actually believed no one knew he had lodged here. Crime of opportunity is quite common. Targeted assassination is rare but possible..those ones don't care. God help us...not a good way to die at all

It depends, one should first make an assessment of the environment and also ask close relatives around. Such secluded hotels are very dangerous because criminals can track someone there to kill or blackmail innocent people. We need to follow up this matter to know the details, who knows maybe someone gave them information that the man would be coming and the two boys might have tried to torture him to give them his hard earned money or some issue we don't know about? But either way the murder is despicable in all ramifications....it depends. If the area is notorious and saturated with insecurity and criminals it's best as you said not to go but to send what ever one can afford to send. Hmn its really sad....

This is so sad. Makes you wonder how these hotels run themselves with profits. For some, hotel business is a cover up.

Please be loud on the phone letting your families know where you are lodging and let the hotel people see you tell your people. That's probably the only way to stay safe in a new local hotel.

Best to lodge in an expensive hotel than to meet your waterloo.

I can only imagine the amount invested in the high rise building ...in a twinkle of an eye, its all gone. Will the bank or banks call for the payment of the loan? Will the insurance company pay the bank for the debt?

Now all those workers are also out of a job. The dead are long gone...but the living, how will they feed their families and deal with the loss of friends and co-workers? We often limit out responses to RIP...but I always wonder about all these...financial loss, devastation and recovery, mental and PTSD and many more after effects we do not even look into.

With a Monastery and Mosque being affected, will some read some religious meaning to this? Is God angry? Just confusion all around.

All major cities need to have a Metro System or Electric Bus System and gradually phase out the Okadas. You can retrain them to manage passengers. With huge population in the metropolis, you need cleaner air and less noise pollution up and down.

A man diligent in his work, as highlighted in Proverbs 22:29, is someone who excels and is dedicated to their work, and such a person will be recognized and respected, even standing before those in positions of power.

What I have noticed is --- an average Nigerian is not diligent. I remember hiring a manager to manage tenants. Every new tenants pass through him and he gets his commission no matter who brings the tenants. Every time I have to tell him what to do, find out why rents are not being paid on time, encourage him to do meetings to ascertain tenants' concerns. My plan was beyond agency fees. He bought a Toyotal muscle and didnt inform me. I told him I would have been happy and celebrated your achievement with you. Maybe he felt I wouldn't be. I had big goals for him, but we had to part ways.

Now I just manage all my tenants directly with my Engineer. My Engineer has been with me more than a decade. We celebrate his children's success. I forward paid him to make sure he could pay University tuitions for his children. Now 2 of them are graduating with 2nd class upper. One now works for two international companies out of Lagos. I can send him money for project and be at rest. Last year, he ended up with a Govt contract showcasing all the projects he has done with me and my foundation under Oyo State Govt. Was he perfect no, but his recent govt project was considered one of the very best. Be diligent, don't be greedy, don't be jealous --- stay honest and humble.

I won't bet on that. The budget was pegged at N1500 and Chatham House warned against Naira strengthening which may weaken exports.

Why I see the merit of this argument in increasing foreign reserves . it will turn us to China where we would be working endlessly to fulfill the needs of the West without being able to buy their own luxury products. How many average Chinese can buy Western goods that they produce? Hmmm
