A monicker asked the question below.

What is the different between lesson note and lesson plan?

Both provide information about a lesson that has been, or will be, delivered by a teacher to a class. A "lesson note" suggests something much less formal, detailed or systematic than a "lesson plan", which is often compiled strictly according to a required format.

Lesson note:
It may be:
* a brief summary of a lesson in a teacher's planner/diary;
* a short evaluation of a lesson by the teacher who delivered it or by another adult who observed it;
* a message reminding a teacher to revisit some issue in a future lesson;
* a list of activities to be set by a substitute teacher to be done by a class whose normal teacher is absent;
* a teacher's worksheet to be monitored by a senior colleague, listing subject-matter covered by the teacher with a class on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Lesson plan:
While there are many formats for a lesson plan, most lesson plans contain some or all of these elements, typically in this order:
* Title of the lesson
* Time required to complete the lesson
* List of required materials
* List of objectives, which may be behavioral objectives (what the student can do at lesson completion) or knowledge objectives (what the student knows at lesson completion)
* The set (or lead-in, or bridge-in) that focuses students on the lesson's skills or concepts—these include showing pictures or models, asking leading questions, or reviewing previous lessons
* An instructional component that describes the sequence of events that make up the lesson, including the teacher's instructional input and guided practice the students use to try new skills or work with new ideas
* Independent practice that allows students to extend skills or knowledge on their own
* A summary, where the teacher wraps up the discussion and answers questions
* An evaluation component, a test for mastery of the instructed skills or concepts—such as a set of questions to answer or a set of instructions to follow
* A risk assessment where the lesson's risks and the steps taken to minimize them are documented.
* Analysis component the teacher uses to reflect on the lesson itself —such as what worked, what needs improving
* A continuity component reviews and reflects on content from the previous lesson
Thanks so much. Appreciate much. Pls job seekers lets take note. Questions like these do come up in interviews.

OP, well done o. Thanks to you I have seen cucumber leaves for the first time in my life.

Am also impressed to know that people are farming cucumbers, watermelon etc in P.H, Owerri etc. I erroneously believed these fruits can only grow in the North. Much appreciation for a work well done!

God bless you Larry37 and manie for taking out time to explain these things to us. That is IGCSE and CIE.

My friend finally explained like you did. One is given a study pack and submits d exams. So A grade schools are our best bet to get this training. Thanks.

Avicky,pls how recognised is NOUN masters in education. I have pgde (NTI) and I am not too sure Unilag accepts it(NTI). Do schools respect NOUN masters in education?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Strictly For Those Interested In Teaching Jobs by masties2(f): 6:53pm On Jul 28, 2015
manie:
The certification is not what you can get at British Council, schools who want to run the programme usually get information for certification of their schools from the British Council. Training for IGSCE certification can only be gotten from accredited schools that run the IGSCE curriculum. You best bet is to get a job in a school that runs the programme, even if it may lead to a loss in pay.
That is what I finally deduced. Since we have to use d school's domain name. Wonder why more schools are listing IGCSE as an advantage on job hunt then? Anyway, for me now career advancement is d most important. I don't mind d baptism of fire that comes with it. May God help us all.

So I went CV spamming today. By foot (lol) I was able to see a school that is holding interview tomorrow. Lucky me, I guess. Some of the impressive looking schools I saw were primary schools, although I didn't bother to drop my CV there cos I am interested secondary schools.

For the IGCSE a friend said that one is given a study pack and then does exam and submit. undecided
CIE has a webinar planned for August 13th sounds good an the fee is £49. I saw the info online.

Please, i'm also interested in the igcse. Is it possible for me to take it before going for pgde or taking both simultaneously. I have the intention of starting the pgde program early next year. And where is the location of British Council in Nigeria? Thanks. Patiently waiting for your response.
I used google and got so much info I ended up confused. I will have to visit British council at Ikoyi in person. Pls if anyone can help with clear information on IGCSE or CIE pls provide.

thank u GoldenDr: i knw masters is d best for me bt u knw these private schls: some of them dont want u to upgrade cos they knw u will leave them for something better: i want a to do something dt will back up my yrs of experience: something dat will take me a step ahead: i didnt read any education course: i started as a teacher and ws promoted after a year wt d schl: bt i hv noticed dt most schls now want professional teachers as in NCE; B Ed; B Sc Ed etc: i wanted to enrol for NTI Pgde: is it ok?
From my little experience, I would advice you do NTI. It is cheaper and faster but you have to study hard to learn about education. I finished last year and have no regrets. But you can also do PGDE at Unilag or any other sch of your choice. Sometimes getting ahead in career is by the value you can add. Like Manie says, never stop learning and strive to improve yourself. Opportunity will come and meet you ready.
